Crowley sure went from "our respective head offices don't actually care how things get done" and "nobody ever has to know" to "walls have ears" FAST after Edinburgh. And Aziraphale went from looking at Crowley with hearts in his eyes to "I've been FrAtErNiZiNg" just as quickly.

I'm more convinced than ever that Edinburgh was the first time Crowley ever actually got caught and punished for fucking around with Aziraphale/doing good deeds/whatever it was they yanked him back down to Hell for, and it scared the absolute shit out of both of them and changed the whole tone of their relationship after that.

I had to go look this up, and found a blog with good photos of the hotel chapel windows, which are lovely, vibrant works of art. But I also checked out the official Clarke website, which says this about this Sussex job:

"When Harry [Clarke] sent the cartoon for the Visitation window, Sr. Bernard objected to the unicorn depicted in the end panel of the second light ... Harry reluctantly amended the cartoon and in the window the unicorn is absent."

No more unicorns. 😭

Colleen Doran’s artwork in Snow, Glass, Apples is just stunning and I know she cites the Irish stained glass artist, Harry Clarke, as an inspiration. Just wondering if you’ve ever seen his work in person? If not, I highly recommend a visit to the Honan Chapel in University College Cork or the Crawford Art Gallery in Cork city.

I have, although my favourite Clarke windows are in the Ashdown House Hotel in Wych Cross, Sussex. (Which, when it was Banking corporate training offices, was part of my inspiration for Fawney Rig in Sandman.)

@aydracz made this cool post the other day with "real augmented reality" photos from the South Downs featuring fantastic fandom artists, and *also* some funny headcanons about Aziraphale and Crowley and their life in the South Downs, in which Aziraphale and Crowley take up birdwatching, which becomes just another way to bickerflirt. 😂

So, naturally I went off the deep end....

Aziraphale: But Crowley, you couldn't have seen a yellow-breasted tit in the South Downs, they're native to Asia, for Heaven's sake!

South Downs Happy Husbands

Buzzing to share these with you! While on our trip to London to see Nye (which was phenomenal and so was meeting Michael afterwards!), @0xlilith and I made a day trip to the South Downs to see where the innefable husbands will spend their retirement.

We were blown away (figuratively and literally - the weather was quite rough at the beginning) by the South Downs! And then the time came to take out some amazing fanart and take photos of what Crowley and Aziraphale might be up to in the future.

Bonus - @0xlilith and I, being the rational adults that we are, decided to draw magician moustaches, print out the first photo and go to the National Theatre again to show it to Michael Sheen. Sadly, he didn't do stage door that night. But we met many wonderful people in the queue so it was a great evening nonetheless!

We had a blast doing this and many new headcanons came out of this trip. For example:

Crowley shouts at all the rabbits because they are eating his garden produce. Until he notices there are also little bunnies and he simply cannot shout at those. He ends up dedicating part of his garden to the rabbits. Aziraphale finds this endearing.

While on their walks on the cliffs, Crowley picks up snails.

Crowley makes up random stories about the local lore and tells them to the tourists. Aziraphale puts and end to this when the stories gradually become more and more unhinged.

Aziraphale takes up bird watching.

Crowley makes fun of it at first but then he also takes up bird watching.

Aziraphale and Crowley start competing in bird watching.

Aziraphale doesn't believe Crowley saw the birds he claims he did.

Crowley is adamant he really saw the yellow-breasted tit.

Aziraphale calls Crowley a yellow-breasted tit.

Etc etc.

Hope you enjoy these as much as we enjoyed making them!
