I don't think Ryoko Kui's portrayal of racism (both fantasy and real) is as good as people say it is because it never really gets resolved. Characters (main characters we're meant to like!) just say shit and it's left hanging for the most part. There's not really any arc or recognition where they grow and change, it's just said and the story moves on.

TBH sometimes I get uncomfortable with how people talk about Laios because honestly a lot of it is making fun of him or treating him like he's unhinged because of his struggle expressing himself in socially acceptable ways and understanding others.

Senshi is just as passionate about eating monsters but he's just allistic about it and Falin is just as passionate, she just gets less screen time and is manic pixie dream girl'd for it.
