Good type of min-maxer: hey I was curious so I looked through the rulebooks and figured out exactly how to make a monk that can run at 100 mph
Bad type of min-maxer: check out my Homebrew race! Its defining feature is that all their attacks do quadruple damage. It's balanced because they have one less hitpoint. Glass cannon!

......... different fantasy races should be impacted differently by each other's alcohol
no more if this "fine elvin wine" shit, I am going to personally write a fantasy setting in which every human knows that elf booze tastes and feels like fantasy la croix. there's barely even a flavor, and you'd need to drink a few to even get tipsy.
meanwhile, every human with a lick of common sense knows that you need to plan accordingly if you're going to be drinking dwarven liquor, because it hits you hard and fast and you'll lose feeling in your legs faster than you thought was physically possible. the hangovers are the stuff of legend.

Beyond this, consider how these professions might vary depending on who the customers are - nobles, or lower class. Are they good at their job or just scraping by? Do they work with lots of other people or on their own? City or village?
For younger characters:
Apprentice to any of the above
Messenger/runner
Page/squire
Pickpocket
Shop assistant
Student
Looks after younger siblings

Wielding spell and sword, an expert of both, you are a dangerous enemy. First draft of a series of feats that allow anyone to be hexblade-esque.

Things to Consider When Writing About Royalty
How is the throne inherited? How strict are the traditions concerning transfers of power? How is the order of succession determined? Can commoners become royalty?
How are heirs trained?
How much, if at all, are marriages for power/political ties favored over marriages for love? How common are arranged marriages
What are the biggest threats to their position?
How good is there relationship with their subjects?
What is their preferred method of interacting with their subjects? Do they prefer to interact with them directly or indirectly?
How long has the monarchy been in power? How did it originally gain that power?
What special etiquette is required when dealing with royalty? How strict is it?
How are princes and/or princesses that aren’t first in line for the throne handled? Are they given special responsibilities in the hopes of discouraging resentment?
How do they deal with assassination attempts?
How do they spend their wealth? Why do they prioritize certain aspects of their kingdom’s well being over others?
Would they rather inspire love or fear in their subjects?

This is a trick that golfers use to find the balance of their golf balls but we in the TTRPG community can employ it ourselves to test the probability of rolls in our dice.
The process is simple- make a salt and water solution with a high enough salinity that your d20 (or which ever die you want) can float freely and consistently. Then tap them down and let them float back to the top. You can get really deep in if you want and record and sample your results or you can just get a general idea.
The purple and grey die has always rolled really well for me and I was extremely excited to see that no matter what when I reset the float it would always return to the Nat 20. I floated the green die next to it for comparison, it didn’t really seem to favor one result over the other which means it’s a more well balanced die.
The reason that this test works is because there are occlusions in the dice them selves. Somewhere in the casting process not everything was emulsified enough or an air bubble was trapped which is enough to throw off their center of gravity. If you’re the type of player who wants to have a more random die generally transparent dice are better because it’s much easier to see occlusions in them before they go to market.

In dnd, resurrecting PCs becomes so easy at higher levels, and though I think that’s a positive, I really like the idea that dying has lasting consequences or triggers events in a PC. Here’s a simple table of interesting but hopefully not game breaking or character destroying ideas. Thoughts? Improvements?

Have I mentioned my love for the warlock class? I love the way its set up mechanic wise, the flavor potential, and the spellcasting is evocative as heck!
Want to have a pact with a cosmic being that allows you to summon shooting stars when you cast eldritch blast?
Want to be the only mortal that can comprehend the madness of the great old ones?
Want to have an archfey that abducted you as a child to be the friend of their own child?
Want to have your soul sold to the lord of the hunt before your birth and have to pay the price for it by serving them?
Want to make a pact with a storm elemental that like a symbiote lives in your body disguised as your natural bioelectricity?
Want an ancient dragon to keeps you as part of its hoard and in exchange grants you a long life and its protection?
Want some sword you picked up whisper into your mind that you need to fight against those who oppress you?
Want the spirits of your ancestors to grant you great power to protect the current members of the bloodline?
Want Asamodeus to favor you because you remind them of a mortal they once loved many eons ago?
Want to be the only survivor of a shipwreck and then have the dead souls of your crewmates grant you access to the arcane and in exchange you take care of their unfinished business on the mortal plane?
Warlock! Warlock! Warlock!
