Izuku glanced between the two as it gradually dawned on him that Shouto didn't regret anything they did the previous night. It relieved him, but he still couldn't shake feeling at least a little bit bad for causing Shouto such an inconvenience.

"I see..." He gave a nod. "Still--if you need any help with anything, I'll be here. It's the least I can do."

Katsuki had the exact opposite reaction to this situation. He looked highly amused even if a small part of him felt bad for causing Shouto any discomfort.

"Well, I ain't sorry," he declared with a snort. "He got what he wanted. He knew what he was getting himself into."

The guilt coming off of Izuku was palpable. As soon as he realized the condition Shouto was in, Izuku gave a few small bows in apology. "I-I'm really sorry, Shocchan!" he exclaimed with a deep flush covering his face. "W-we should've been more careful--"

He's a little grumpy because his throat is sore and his voice is gone, reduced to nothing more but a couple raspy syllables if he tries to speak...

Izuku had been waiting for Shouto to return to the table with him to continue their English homework together. However, on the way back, Shouto went completely frozen. He glanced up when he noticed his friend so transfixed on a random spot on the wall and stood up.

Once he got closer, he saw the one who had caused such terror in his best friend. He passed behind Shouto to go into the kitchen and grabbed an empty disposable cup and a lid.

Without saying a word, he went up to the terrifying creature and.... scooped it into the cup.

He shivered, feeling a bit of anxiety when he noticed the roach's wings begin to sprout. He quickly covered it with a lid and briskly walked by Shouto to deposit the insect back outside.

With a soft exhale of breath, he placed the cup and lid in the recycling before approaching his best friend again. "Are you okay?" He asked with a concerned frown. "I got rid of it, Shocchan."

He's just standing there, frozen in place (figuratively), staring at the corner of the room, mismatched eyes filled with horror, as if his worst nightmare has manifested right then and there. And maybe it really did.

"Wait--I thought we were still rivals?" Izuku asked. Kacchan still challenged him plenty of times. Somehow, this news bothered him.

He was happy that Kacchan did give him those other labels even if they were very convoluted.

"Hah? You're already my ex-rival, and ex-friend -- why the fuck would ya be a THIRD thing?" Just ignore the fact that was just a more extreme, and Bakugou way, of saying 'friend' and 'boyfriend' without actually saying those words.

"You know..." Izuku looked a little more serious now. "You can date someone and also be friends with them?"

Realistically, Izuku already knew how Kacchan would reply, but he was somewhat amused by the entire situation.

"Oh..." Shouto sounded almost disappointed. "It's my birthday today." He barely remembered it.

After public birthday festivities were over (Kacchan and Satou made the birthday cake, of course) and everyone went back to their rooms, Izuku went straight to Shouto's room with a gift bag in hand. He knocked on the door and waited for his best friend to answer.

"Hey, Shouto!" he greeted with a smile. "I know you'd rather not deal with gifts, but when I saw this in a store, I knew I had to get it!" He held the back towards his friend. Inside was a new soba dish set covered in cat patterns.

"Happy birthday, Shouto!"

Of course, Izuku was none the wiser when it came to Kacchan's intentions. They had spoken of marrying in the future but every time the conversation came up, Izuku would get overwhelmed or emotional from the mere idea of spending the rest of his life with his boyfriend. He was truly blessed. After everything they'd been through together, he couldn't believe that he could become so lucky. Of all of the people in the world that Kacchan could choose to be with, he chose him.

Izuku had been in the middle of tackling his calculus homework when he heard Kacchan's voice through the door. Immediately, his expression lit up. "It's unlocked!" he replied even as he went to stand up.

He crossed the floor until he could meet his boyfriend halfway and quickly threw his arms around Kacchan's neck. "Hi," he greeted with a bright smile.

It had been over a year now since the two of them had started dating. And the two of them were now going into their third year. And as much as Katsuki wanted to marry the damn nerd already -- the two of them were still in school. They were training to be heroes still.

However, that didn't stop the explosive blond from using a bit of the yen he saved him from internships to buy his boyfriend a promise ring. He wanted to get a ring on Izuku's finger already and he couldn't wait any longer.

The box with the ring was resting safely in his pants pocket as he walked toward his boyfriend's dorm room, knocking on the door, before he turned the handle to open it.

"Oi, Izu~" He called.

"Dammit, Kacchan!" Izuku huffed loudly as he logged back into his blog account. He quickly went into his blog to change his password and added the two-step authentication process.
