haha yeah. fanon will do as fanon does whether we like it or not. i have my own strong feelings about the ways that fanon can perpetuate harmful stereotypes and how that tendency is so rarely interrogated properly within the fandom space. but hey at least there are people who are aware, so i can never get too hopeless about it. i think it’s worth it also to understand the “why” so we can mitigate the “how”
