I drew a picture of me and my friend and colored us with our favorite colors. I colored her in two shades of pink and I colored myself with red and pink. It took me about 2 hours to sketch this, it took as my first time sketching locs and I kept making mistakes with the eyes and lips. I think I did pretty good on this drawing, my friend liked it and thought I looked just like us.

In my visual communication class we designed for posters using 2 serif typefaces and 2 san serif typefaces. We had to create visuals using only the characters (numbers, letters and symbols). The posters need to have the alphabet, numbers and the history of the typeface. My 2 serifs were Bodoni and Georgia and my 2 San serifs were Futura and Interstate. Bodoni is used for a lot of fashion brands so I made the poster look like a magazine with a model. I made a cookie for Futura based off the Supreme Oreo since the brand used the typeface. For Georgia I wanted to make a peach (Georgia peach) but my professor told me to be more creative so I made the Georgia flag. For interstate I was going to make an interstate sign but having all the requirements made it look bulky,then I saw that Sesame Street uses the font. Since I used to watch the show I remembered that Count Dracula counts and Cookie Monster does the alphabet then I made the 2 characters using symbols.

Overall this assignment really pushed me out my comfort zone and made me think outside the box. It was very time consuming and fun to do from the rough drafts to the final results.

My friend DJ wanted me to make him a bracelet. I made his bracelet with blue and teal beads. His favorite color is blue and I wanted to add another color so I chose teal.

I made a necklace using some random brown beads I had that were in different shapes and sizes. I put them into a random pattern and used small round brown beads to space them out and make the necklace longer. I also let my mannequin Patricia model it for me.

Last night I made a bracelet with silver heart beads and silver round beads. I wanted to make a bracelet that wasn’t made with bright and color beads but still had a unique pattern to it. When I fist started making the bracelet the pattern was three round beads then a heart bead but I decided to do two.

SpongeBob is my favorite show and as I got older Squidward became my favorite character. I always admired his art because it was different, bizarre and unique. So a few weeks ago when I was watching the show I saw this artwork in the background and decided to paint it on my money box.

A while ago bought a stop sign from the Christmas Clarence isle at my old job. I took off the Santa hat and painted it with red acrylic paint. Then I used tailors chalk to sketch out what I wanted it to say. I made it say “STOP BSing” because “STOP Procrastinating”was too long. After I sketched the words I bought rhinestones in two different sizes and glued them on.

In my fashion illustration we are getting into sketching different faces. The objective was a frontal face with a head wrap, I decided to go beyond the objective and add a necklace, earrings, and other piercings. It took me about four hours to finish because it’s been awhile since I sketched a face and this was the first time I sketched. Head wrap.

I made a random bead wrap around bracelet. The first time I made one I was just putting one of every bead that I had on a string and spacing them out white little silver ones. I first wore it around my waist but it was too big so I wrapped it around my arm. With the bracelet in the video I made it with mostly new beads.

This is a tik tok tutorial of me making a chain necklace. I bought the chain from my job and the charm was from an old earring It took about 5 minutes to make. After my first time wearing it I thought it was too long and I cut 4 inches off the chain.

For the past week I have been making necklaces. This is the first necklace I made during the week. I made a tutorial on on how I made my safety pin necklace. It took just a few materials that I already had;safety pins, beads, jump rings, chain from an old necklace and a clasp. It took me less than 10 minutes to make.

Recently I volunteered at a fashion show in Brooklyn, New York, where local Brooklyn fashion designers debuted their spring collections at the Mosaic Fashion Show. All of the designers were young African Americans who brought different styles and approaches to the runway. Each model walked beautifully while some did a choreographed dance. The video above is a Tik Tok I made the next day with all of my favorite looks from the fashion show.

After the show I had a chance to talk to some of the designers about their designs and what looks were my favorite.
