When I first saw this promotional event here with Sakamoto Cable, I was like (Wait, why is Capcom promoting Sengoku Basara when even Battle Party is no more??) 😗💭

I don't want to get my hopes up, but I really wish that they're stirring the popularity of the series for something. Capcom, I'm down with an anime adaptation of Sengoku Basara 4 and Sumeragi, just give us something 🙏✨

A little drawing I made of the Shenmue boys 😍🌸

I played the entire Shenmue series, with English and Japanese voice overs, and I noticed that Ryo speaks differently with Ren and Guizhang 😊🎶

His voice expresses more emotions when he talks to them, than his usual almost monotone form of speech. While Ryo seems to always shut people out, I found him acting rather naturally around these two. I know that this is probably because he doesn't wish for his loved ones to get hurt during his pursuit, and the fact that he can count on Ren and Guizhang on his journey and they will definitely get his back when he needs it 🙏✨

But, I'd like to think that there's more to it. I mean one man would lose a limb to protect him, and the other travels the distances to be with him ❤💛

Umm...sorry for being late to the party, but was there an official Sengoku Basara character popularity poll last year that I missed?? What is exclusive to the Basara Club members??

I found this picture on the official Basara Club Twitter account here, and was confused as of when did it happen. Also, the tweet says there will be merchandise based on these designs ✨🙌

Edit:

After some digging, I discovered that this was indeed a popularity poll held from November 9th until December 13th of 2020. The results were announced in a live stream. While the voting was exclusive to Basara Club members only, the live stream could have been viewed by both members and non-members (by purchasing a ticket at a discounted price via the Basara Club membership, or the regular price from ROM Mall).

To become a Basara Club member, you will need to pay an entry fee, and renew your membership before it ends. Perhaps, this popularity poll targeted a rather small percentage of the fandom. Therefore, the results could have been different if it was a public poll that also allowed international fans to participate, especially that you can vote for ten characters per day.

The top 10 popular characters, as well as the 20th, 30th, 40th, 50th and finally the 63rd characters, out of the series roster of 64 characters thus far, will all be made into merchandise with newly drawn illustrations.
