It feels like the mods have collectively lost their marbles going power mad with the ban feature lol. And the main dude has a suspended account anyways. I feel like this is my sign to scrap Reddit lol.

Do not use the r/witchcraft subreddit as it is being run by mods pushing a misogynistic agenda. Their mods are getting accounts banned for posting up historical information that goes against their misogynistic views and narrative. One of the mods is using the subreddit to weaponize their members against another witchcraft community in a subreddit that is intended to be a safe space from toxic male influences and harassment.

I won’t be quiet about this no matter how much they want to shove their fingers in their ears and yell “lalalala I can’t hear you.” They are horribly misrepresenting the significance of women, historically, in witchcraft and trying to push a male victim complex. It is disgusting that anyone would use such a large community to pursue their own personal vendettas against a group of [mostly] women in the witchcraft community.

The mods of the r/witchcraft subreddit are abusing their power within the community and I will be sure everyone knows they are not an appropriate place to find an inclusive community of witches. It feels like another avenue of the witchcraft to alt right pipeline.

If you want an inclusive community, honestly, Reddit isn’t the place to look for it. Way too many mods getting a power trip and using the communities to foster and promote disgusting views and behavior.

Here is the link to the post of one of the mods trying to weaponize his community against another community of witches on Reddit. They are actively removing and banning anyone who shares any information that goes against their misogynistic misinformation about the historical context of the “burning times.” And claiming that men were tortured and murdered more often than women for the crimes of witchcraft. Which we know is complete bullshit. I even shared links that sourced the real history and they removed my comment and banned me. This subreddit, unfortunately, is being run by people with a power trip and a victim complex.

Because I’m obsessive and kind of a lurker lol, I’ve found that the mods of r/witchcraft are kinda weirdly obsessed with r/witchesvspatriarchy and they have had a habit of banning anyone and everyone who dares tell white people to stay in their damn lane.

But who am I to talk? I’ve now fallen down the r/witchcraft rabbit hole of cultural appropriation, misogyny, racism and homophobia. This is what I get for never actually participating much with a group but assuming that because we share a common interest that everyone is as cool and chill as me lol.

One of the mod is literally a “pick me” (I truly hate that term but there isn’t many quick ways to say “a woman who repeatedly puts down other women in favor of boosting their own favoritism with men”) and has posted comments on other subreddits talking down about women. That same mod is the one who actively promotes cultural appropriation and calls it “segregation” if you point out that her whiteness shouldn’t be participating in specific cultural practices.

They banned someone for making a public post on the subreddit and calling out the mods. I’m not sure what they said in the post, as it was removed, but the title remains “calling out discrimination of faith by the mod team.” They also ban people for speaking out against cultural appropriation.

Apparently the mod who has the personal vendetta against r/witchesvspatriarchy got banned by Reddit for something, though the post was removed. But someone in the comment has copy and pasted it so that it was more readable. Apparently dude thinks he’s important and people in the witch community want to see him removed from Reddit. I guess it never dawned on him that people don’t like him because he’s not a good person, idk. Then he, once again, tries to weaponize the community for his own selfish reasons. He think that other subreddit is out to get him because he and other mods allow racism and cultural appropriation in the r/witchcraft subreddit. That’s what I’m getting from the experience I’ve had with them and the experiences I’m seeing other people share.

It looks like all the mods have been banned from other witchcraft subreddits at some point, or by Reddit as a whole at some point. It also seems like it’s run by predominantly white people. I can’t say for a fact they’re all white, but it’s rare to meet someone nonwhite crying “racism” when someone says “white people aren’t culturally supposed to practice this specific form of magic.” Which gives them an extremely skewed perspective of what racism, discrimination, and appropriation really is.

That place is so toxic it hurts my eyes to stare too long lol. When you read through all their trash it’s hard to find anyone who is in opposition of their views because they remove and ban anyone who speaks out against them. Unfortunately for them they can’t control what is said outside their little bubble on Reddit. And I personally do not think it beneficial to the witchcraft community as a whole to push these harmful narratives.

And it’s strange because 82 days ago they were all complaining for being targeted by that other subreddit, then they went and targeted that other subreddit. Just a bunch of hypocrites.

Literally the main mod who made the original post has been suspended :/ and they’re still banning people left and right from their subreddit. Or at least his legion of moderators is lol.

Just be careful in online spaces. If the root of a community is rotted, the entire community suffers. I’m sure there are some really great people in the community itself, but the people at the top are power mad and weird af lol.

So this has been an on going issue? Because I don’t really use Reddit like that but one of the mods recently made a post attacking r/witchesvspatriarchy and they’re banning everyone who calls them out on their misogynistic toxic bullshit.

When a post has 100+ comments and only 16 upvotes, usually the person who posted realizes they fucked up. But not over on r/witchcraft lol. They just digging their heels in deeper.

Don’t tell them women have historically been harmed at a much higher rate than men (in just general history lol) within the context of witchcraft. Oooh they’ll claim that men had it much worse.. despite the evidence saying the complete opposite.

That place is so toxic. I can’t believe I didn’t see it sooner. Actually, I had a few interactions with some racists on that sub but I just figured it was a few rotten fruit. Nope the whole basket just needs to be tossed out lol.

Holy fuck, nobody told me r/Witchcraft was ruled by pro-cultural appropriation assholes who throw a tantrum and ban everyone calling them out and trying to lure people (including PoC) into being banned...They learned from the undercover cops or what? A level of jerkness that challenges the physics. Reminds me of this fraudulent bully and pro-slavery woman a friend worked under who was also preaching all sort of New Age/ecological/leftist beliefs all while writing all kind of classist and racist shits in all caps on the official website of the association, complaining and being all about "woe me who are you to disagree with me woe me".

Anyone else had lovely and delightful experiences of that kind with them? And while we're at it, are there other places like that I need to purge?

I want nothing to do with racist and transphobic groups especially, other than punching them.

I don't know if y'all know anything about PTSD but PTSD from childhood trauma can cause inability to sleep, anxiety, irritability, exaggerated startled responses; as well as feeling numb, feeling detached from others, dissociating, and feeling empty.

How do y’all feel about witchy shops that are obviously just drop ship shops?

I mean, when they have the same stuff as Shein and Wish, they’re getting it from the same manufacturers that supply those places too. So the whole “being more ethical” thing isn’t really a factor. And it’s not really going to save the customer any money, since these shops tend to markup the cost of these things by a lot. And it’s not like the markup in price is an indicator that it’ll be better quality controlled, since chances are it’s just coming straight from the manufacturer anyways.

I guess if you’re not worried about quality control or ethics, the outrageous markups of some of these shops might be worth it for an easy to navigate curated collection of things. You could get it at 1/5 the cost on Wish but you’d have to search through Wish lol. And that might take some time.

So convenience? That would be my guess as to why people would spend more money on the same unethically mass produced stuff.

Btw this isn’t me against like normal shops that buy wholesale, quality check their products, and/or try to source their products as ethically as they realistically can. Just me wondering if people know they’re ordering from drop shippers and, if they do know, why they order from them.

If you plan on sprinkling any mixtures (like blended herbs, dried flowers, dried fruits etc.) into or onto soil (for a spell or ritual) or you plan to dispose of your spells outside, and the spell requires salt, replace the salt with crushed egg shells. Doing this ensures you don’t damage the soil because salt will basically poison the dirt so that plant life will not be able to grow.

Salts in the soil can absorb water. This results in less water being available for uptake by the plants, increasing water stress and root dehydration. This is referred to as physiological drought, which, if not corrected, can lead to reduced plant growth. XX

However, [chicken] egg shells are comprised of about 96% calcium carbonate (CaCO3). Calcium is an essential plant nutrient and moderates soil acidity.

Salt, bad 👎🏻

Magically speaking, egg shells and salt share very similar properties. So substituting one for the other shouldn’t be an issue. Unless however, you plan to ingest your mixture or blend. This substitution is really only necessary if you plan to bury your mixture or you plan to dispose of it in soil or outside.
