"June Crespo entiende la escultura como un ejercicio que permite reunir cualidades aparentemente opuestas. En sus piezas participan por igual lo pétreo y lo perecedero, lo mecanizado y lo manual, o lo abyecto y lo sensual. La confluencia de materiales y motivos conforma un léxico que parece resolverse en una contradicción
Crespo ha desarrollado un lenguaje personal en torno a las técnicas de moldeado y fundición a la cera perdida. Atendiendo a su acepción más tradicional, estas funcionan como un mecanismo de cristalización de una forma. En cambio, June Crespo interviene dichas técnicas con el fin de comprometer la apariencia final de la escultura y deshacer su imagen. Así, la fundición no constituye un fin, sino el inicio de un trabajo de edición que tiene como finalidad suspender los atributos, narraciones y genealogías asociadas a materiales como el bronce o el acero".

Al reordenar, mezclar y jugar con las correspondencias entre tecnologías, sistemas de conocimiento e ideas, inventa nuevas formas de organizar el pensamiento creativo y crítico. Como investigadora no académica, utiliza registros y archivos históricos como materiales de tejido. Está particularmente interesada en proyectos desarrollados para sitios específicos debido a las interconexiones socio-históricas que pueden ofrecer, así como la posibilidad de co-crear y entrelazar ideas con comunidades específicas.
