For Ukraine Vol.1 is out now on Headphone Commute’s Bandcamp, curated by Hollie Kenniff I‘m so grateful to have had this chance to contribute my piece to this compilation along with the other wonderful artists.

100% of all the proceeds (excluding Bandcamp's revenue share and payment processor fees) will be donated to International Rescue Committee (rescue.org) to support displaced children and families with vital supplies during the Crisis in Ukraine.

Atsuko Hatano & Midori Hirano : “Water Ladder” out on Alien Transistor

Following their recent solo releases “Soniscope” (Dauw) and “Cells #5” (Important Records), Berlin-based multi-instrumentalist Midori Hirano and Tokyo based string experimentalist Atsuko Hatano have teamed up for their first collaborative full-length: Water Ladder! An intense, multilayered continuation of earlier collaborations (Atsuko was featured on Midori’s debut LP back in 2006), the foundation for this new collaborative album was laid when they shared stages in Berlin (Ausland) and Japan in 2019. Working remotely at first, they later recorded parts of the album in Nara’s sonihouse (using omnidirectional polyhedral speakers).

My new album "Soniscope" is out today (Sep 10, 2021) on Dauw!

Vinyls are on the way and digital downloads are pay what you want/can for the next 14 days till September 23rd(hurry up!) and including the rework by Foam and Sand, the new ambient project by the award-winning producer Robot Koch.

And this album has two collaboration tracks - one is with my friend and a talented strings player Atsuko Hatano, and the other one is with the wonderful Aaron Hemphill aka Nonpareils - both made this record so special.

One track of my score for the short film Mizuko is featured as well.

It was a great pleasure to have the premiere of my new piece played by the wonderful synthesizer trio Lange//Berweck//Lorenz at this year’s Heroines of Sound at radilsystem Berlin. And I was so grateful to have even one more premiere of my solo piece I just composed with the #emssynthi100 at Electronic Studio Belgrade, then followed by Svetlana Maraš who gave me the perfect introduction to Synthi100 and presented her A/V Radio Concert with the Synthi which was an absolute joy to watch & listen. And thank you Alexandra Cárdenas for finishing the evening with her algorave 🌈👩‍💻

How wonderful it was to have real concerts with audience, even with the restrictions!

I was invited to rescore the stop-motion film “鬼/Oni(The Demon)”, which had been produced in 1972 by Japanese master puppeteer Kihachiro Kawamoto (1925-2010). The score is out now on Phantom Limb as a part of their series “Imaginal Soundtracking” along with the other four amazing compositions by Ami Dang, Sabiwa, Tori Kudo(Maher Shahal Hash Baz), and 食品まつり a.k.a. Foodman. It was a great honor and pleasure to be involved in this project. The story of this film is actually a bit horrifying, but somehow it looks mesmerizing to watch how well-made all these puppets are and subtly moving, and you get drawn into the film in the end.
