imagine that there was no BWL and Harry grew up in an orphanage and Voldemort discovers him doing dark magic in one of the empty Hogwarts classrooms because he wants his crush to like him back and Voldemort is so impressed by his ability of doing dark magic so he decides to mentor him in the arts to mold him into the perfect image of himself and overtime as they learn and grow together they begin to have feelings but are unsure of committing but then Voldemort decides to ask Harry out after a battle and he has flowers back in his office but during the battle somebody stabs Harry in the back and he dies and Voldemort regrets never confessing his love for him sooner

A part of me is amused Remus doesn’t hood a grudge against James, because i would feel so hurt if my friend suspected me of being a spy, like if he was cruel enough he would’ve been like

That sounds like a funny idea for a fanfic lol, but honestly I wouldn’t blame Remus for holding that against James. I would be super hurt if any of my best friends thought I would do that to them. I think it was sort of an unspoken rule in their furry group that Sirius was James’s #1 boy; I believe both Remus and Peter made peace with that.

And also, I think it was pretty much just Sirius who didn’t trust Remus, I reckon James at best was wary of Remus. Remus himself says “James would have regarded it the height of dishonour to mistrust his friends.” I don’t think James fully trusted Remus, given that, if he had trusted him, he would’ve obviously told him about the Fidelius charm and all that stuff. But I think James’s wariness, whatever you wanna call it, came from Sirius whispering ideas in his ear and that he never would’ve thought any of that on his own.

I think I explained my stance on everything pretty well in this post, and I’m a little too lazy to go into major detail so yeah :D

Just one last thing, I don’t think Remus held it against James, whether he (James) mistrusted him or not, but I think Remus harboured a teeeeeeeensy bit of resentment towards him (Jiminy), although he never expressed it.
