I honestly think it's a situation in which none is actually the bad guy. The hints we have seen seem to point out towards Eris doing what he thought was best (not marrying Mor)... but the thing is, he took the WORST path possible. He did a good deed (letting Mor out of the engagement she had been forced to) in a truly awful way (leaving her wounded on the floor) that still clearly affects her, even though I'm pretty sure he didn't take any pleasure in her suffering. So, is he evil? I don't think so. Is Mor's pain natural and she has every reason to be hurt? Absolutely.
(oh, and here is me Eris Stan TM comment, but sorry, I can't help it: people seem to forget that it was Mor's father who tortured her, after Mor made a decision knowing full well what the reaction could be. Did she deserve that? Of course not! But neither does Eris deserve to be accused of her torture. Eris was only guilty of leaving her laying on the floor and not extending aid)
Obviously Eris is going to get some kind of redemption/character growth in the next books but I genuinely don't see a way out of the thing with Mor without making Mor out to be a liar (or false accuser).
And hot take but Mor already gets a lot of undeserved hate because of sad boy tears...I'll be pretty upset if she's somehow the bad guy in the situation with Eris too

So, I have been working (at LAST) in the Helios and Eris prompt @stars-and-scripts gave me a long (long) time ago and it has had the side effect of me wanting to write a angsty, character-stury-ish one shot about Helion.
I just think the parallels between the Sun/sunlight and Fire/flames, knowledge and its relationship with light and darkness and the underlying themes of destruction and healing of it all are pretty neat :D
ANYHOW here is a sneak peek of the beginning of the prompt! Enjoy!
The problem was the Autumn Court, with their bright, destroying fire. That fire that he had grown to love for its brilliance and warmth, woven in his Love’s soul, for the way it could shine, unstoppable and terrible, in her determined eyes. The fire he also hated after seeing the scorched ground it would leave behind, how unforgiven it could be with those it trapped in its grasp, the way the flames would wrap like chains and leech the air from somebody’s lugs. He loved the fire because it was in her- and his, his son’s- souls, but hated the specters- one too well known and the other not known enough- it had left behind.

I'm not even going to check, but I assume that since the promotion for the house of sky and breath is starting about now the ACOTAR fandom is going up in flames (because that's what the ACOTAR fandom does) and honestly? I'm really happy to be in the Eris Vanserra corner. I feel like we are all just peacefully sipping tea in the sidelines and talking about our problematic boy while the shipping part of the fandom is preparing the ammunition.
They can't touch us. After all, what are they going to say to us? That Eris is an asshole? We know, honey, we know

I should keep this to myself but honestly, with Azriel, I do think it can go either way. I don't see it clearly being Elriel or Gwynriel. I like the idea of both to some degree but I'm also not heavily invested. And no, I def don't think it's obvious by what Sarah said. Because you can assume it's Elain considering the almost kiss. But then you can assume Gwyn as that's the note it ends on and the fact that she's even in the teaser at all.
Anyways...AZRIS SUPREMACY

Emerging to say some things and unpopular opinions that have been going through my head lately:
Btw, maybe all of this has already been discussed by the fandom, but I have been really disconnected for several months, so bear with me please!
Also, this post ended up becoming longer than expected, and it's quite disorganized. Oh well.
Sjm has said that the next book's main characters is obvious. While all signs seem to point towards Azriel or Elain, but I think that the last chapters also put a HUGE spotlight over another character: Eris.
Why?
- He was the main focus of the second-to-last chapter, in which we learn A LOT of things about him: how he is routinely tortured my his father, how he is somehow jealous of the Summer and Winter courts because of their closeness to Night, and, most of all, how Cassian comes to the realization that maybe, deep inside, Eris IS a good person.
- We also get teased yet AGAIN with what really happened between him and Mor.
So, while I'm positive that the main character is going to be either Az or Elain, I think that Eris if going to play a huge rule in future books. And when you look at the entire Gwyn & Az & Elain & Lucien mess, it's not difficult to start theorizing how he would fit in.
First of all, let's look at this love square we have going on, because when you think about it Eris has (or might have) a very close connection to every single member expect Elain (and I think this might change).
Azriel - infamous enmity, he hates Eris because of how he treated Mor (and remember, we have been insistently teased about what really happened between them, so it is reasonable that we will learn about it soon) (also, I personally agree with the theory about Mor and Eris being mates)
Gwyn - One popular fandom theory places Eris as Gwyn's grandfather. While I personally wouldn't really like this theory to be confirmed, it IS the type of thing sjm would do, and it does have some possible foreshadowing scattered around. If it is confirmed, Eris would play a huge role on Gwyn's arc.
Lucien - They are brothers. Moreover, now we know that Eris was the one that made sure Lucien could scape to Spring, so I think that this fact is going to become a plot point between them and their relationship with each other, their family and Tamlin (and maybe Elain)
Elain - She has not had any connection with Eris till now, except when he was looking at her as a possible dance partner just before Nesta stepped in.
More hints about Eris' possible future involvement: Sjm has been talking constantly about how mates do not necessarily have to be endgame, and how their bond can be ignored/there can be more than one bond, etc. It seems like free will to choose a partner is going to be a pretty big theme going forward. We have been focusing on Elain as the recipient of those statements, but if Eris and Mor are revealed to be mates (which I do think is going to happen), it can be applied to them as well. Through this shared experience (having a mate they do not want to be with (Eris) and not being sure of wanting to be with her mate (Elain)) Elain and Eris would have a reason to bold with each other through shared experiences.
So, taking all of this into account, I think it would be pretty fair to say that Eris has a lot of chances of being a very important character in the next book.
Now, here is my unpopular opinion:
While my crack ship is Azriel x Eris, it is very obviously not going to happen (a shame, just look at all that potential). I personally do not care whether Elriel or Gwynriel end up being endgame, I think both couples cute, but while I absolutely love Lucien, if Gwynriel becomes canon I would rather see a relationship develope between Eris and Elain than Elucien ending up together as well. Why?
Elain has been a hidden badass up until now, but she is starting to show her true worth now. Eris is somebody who is constantly monitoring the people around him and trying to stay on top of the situation, so I'm positive that he would notice the steel in Elain (and therefore "seeing her", something we know Elain appreciates). In the same vein, we have seen how much Elain actually sees and understands the people around her (her talk about Nesta and her dancing), so she would realize that there is more than meets the eye with Eris pretty soon. They are both involved in mating bonds they might not want (if Eris does turn out to be Mor's mate), so they could bond through their experiences, fulfilling the theme of choosing their destiny and rejecting mating bonds that has been hinted at in future books. And I can actually see sjm making them end up together in a plot twist.
So, this has ended up becoming a pretty long, disorganized post, I hope it is somewhat understandable. The bottom line is that Eris could be involved with every single member of the Love Square, so I would be really surprised if he doesn't play a huge role in the future, specially because he could be a plot point in every single character's journey.

TO ALL OF MY FOLLOWERS:
I created this secondary account because I wanted to focus more in acotar and eris content rather than use my personal one... But since it is a secondary account I could do barely NOTHING with it! So I used another email address to create a new primary account! I will use it as I pretended to use this one: focusing on ACOTAR, eris and the autumn court in general! I DIDN'T KNOW ERIS WAS GETTING FANFICS ALREADY I'M SO EXCITED!!! Also, arranged marriage? Their chemistry?? I LOOOOOVEEEEE
Btw, shameless plug here: I just made an Autumn Court group chat! After ACOSF a lot of people have started liking Eris and I'm SO excited to talk about him, but since we are still a minority it's difficult to actually find all of you... So I created the group so we can talk and meet each other! So if any of you like Eris feel free to join! Let's simp together! Here is the link:

Spirit Meets the Bones
Eris and Iris.  Son of a high lord, daughter of a fiend.  An arranged marriage brought them together and beneath all the hate, the two are more alike than they’d like to be.
Genre: Angst Warnings: Mentions of physical abuse. Tagging: @inejjg | @vanserrasvalkyrie | @nina-zcnik | @firebirdofscythia

Eris stood with his hands clasped behind his back, standing rigidly next to the female who had now become shackled to him. His bride had only repeated the words of binding in a dull, dry tone and shifted her face slightly so he’d kiss her cheek rather than her lips in front of everyone. Already, she had more nerve than he anticipated. He had only smiled.
The two now stood in their finest before his parents, the festivities of the wedding raging on behind them. Would continue to rage on when the bride and groom took their leave. It all meant nothing to either of them.
Eris stood in his suit, tailor-made, and fitted in forest green. Iris’s bridal gown of white covering every inch of her, pressed against every delicate curve. Eris had only stolen glances, not looking for too long. The hatred in her eyes had become grating.

I was preparing a post about the right court as well! I wholeheartedly agree with this: I believe it was in the Prison (and maybe a bit more, after all if there was another court but not now it would explain why the night court is so big) and the people were frozen inside!
Also, seeing the events of ACOSF and all the prophecies we got... I thinks it's very fair to say that Elain is going to go there, but I hadn't noticed the evidence yet!! I love how you have added those tidbits about Elain, they actually fit the theory VERY well, I'm so excited!
ELAIN / 8TH COURT THEORY (CONTAINS ACOSF SPOILERS)
I’d like to begin by thanking the lovely people of this group chat for contributing to this theory!!
Alright, we have a lot to discuss, starting with that vision Nesta had at the Prison when she touched the harp:
Tumblr media
Basically, the harp showed Nesta what had happened the last time it was used- Fae being trapped within the stone of the mountain, now known as the Prison. Why was this added? It doesn’t really contribute anything to Nesta’s story, and we all know SJM never adds anything without a good reason. Nesta later brings up this vision with Rhys:
Tumblr media
So the people who once lived on the island were trapped within the stone. Who were these people? Are they still alive, somehow preserved in time? Let us remember this tidbit:
Tumblr media
The island may even be an 8th court! So these people trapped within the stone may have BEEN that court! Don’t you think it’s weird how we have a Dawn, Day, and Night court, but no Dusk court? This leads to part 1 of this theory- the island WAS the Dusk court, but it has been so long that nobody even remembers. To further support this theory:
Tumblr media
This is all the was back from ACOMAF. You can’t tell me this wasn’t foreshadowing for the vision that Nesta had that people were trapped in the stone.
So anyway, how does elain tie into this? Well, let’s look at this:
Tumblr media
“Life and death and rebirth”- Feyre. “Love me”- Feysand.
“Sun and moon and dark”- Nesta. “Touch me”- Nessian.
“Rot and bloom and bones”- Elain. “Sing me”- Elriel.
Remember the thing about the three sacred mountains? Feyre faced her greatest challenges Under the Mountain, Nesta faced hers on Ramiel, so that leaves us with the Prison. So what does Elain have to do with bones that connects her to the Prison?
Tumblr media
Gates 👏 of 👏 bone 👏
Somehow, Elain will be connected to the Prison, possibly freeing those people trapped within in her story (fingers crossed). Some other evidence:
Tumblr media
Elain can see and hear things others can’t, what if she can see/hear the people trapped in the stone? Her saying she can hear “through the stone” is really specific.
Tumblr media
Also there this part about her being able to hear the sea. At first a lot of us associated this with Koschei, but he dwells at a lake, not the sea. You know what is by the sea? The island/Prison.
Tumblr media
Another reference to the sea. And hearing things others can’t.
Sooo how will Elain get to the Prison?
Tumblr media
She and Azriel will go. The only two people who can see/hear things others can’t.
In conclusion, Elain’s story will somehow connect to the Prison. Both of the other sisters faced their fears/greatest challenges on/under their respective mountains, so this one has to be Elains. SJM brought up the Fae trapped within the stone for a reason TWICE. There has to be more to that. And seeing as they were trapped within this specific mountain means Elain will likely encounter them (and hopefully free them, thus restoring the 8th court) with the help of Azriel.
Also, as a side note- Rhys said the Pegasuses hailed from the island the Prison is located on, and haven’t been able to breed successfully ever since. If Elain restores the 8th court, that means more pegususes! :) I would include the screenshot but I’ve hit the 10 image cap 🙃 So in conclusion... Give 👏 Elain 👏 a Pegasus 👏
Let me know your thoughts!!

Foreshadowing / Elain’s future journey
Thanks to @nialeirza for helping me connect the dots with one of her posts.
Back in ACOMAF, when the golden queen left the second half of the Book of Breathings at the Archeron estate, the words that were spoken by it struck me as odd, and I haven’t been able to get them out of my head since:
Tumblr media
I remember everyone discussing who the Book was addressing (sweet thing, lady of night, princess of decay), but after reading ACOSF, I cannot help but wonder if there is, in reality, a prophecy surrounding the three sisters. Amren hinted at it during ACOSF, and even Azriel, who is often the one with all the answers, wonders at the probability of two sisters ending up mated with two of his brothers—almost as if it is no mere coincidence.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Three sisters. Three sisters “blessed by fate and gifted with powers.” The number three appears (and anyone studying literature knows that the number three is considered a magical number—particularly in fairytales) again and again. Three brothers. Three sisters. Three women Made by the Cauldron, all symbolizing different sides of the Triple (or Three-Faced) Goddess—Maiden (Elain), Mother (Nesta, who was guided by the Mother herself throughout ACOSF), and Crone (the Queen). Thus, it is interesting to note that, when the second half of the Book started singing, it did so in threes (three lines, with three words each).
If we were to look at the words listed, does anything stand out?
Each line could be looked at separately, or one word could be picked out from each line, and what would we have?
A description of each sister/each sister’s journey.
Death, moon, rot—Nesta (due to her powers; her being compared to the moon; the Mother, who is symbolized by the full moon, watching over her throughout ACOSF, etc.)
Rebirth, dark, bones—Feyre (she was reborn twice; she is the High Lady of the Night Court; and bones have always been present throughout her story - the Bone Carver, UTM, etc.)
Life, sun, bloom—Elain (she is the gentle grower of things, the gardener, instilling life all around her—and, it can also be argued that if Nesta’s power is death, hers is life; she craves sunshine/is compared to the sun; her symbol is a rose; as the Maiden, she embodies Spring—Persephone was also known as the Maiden, etc.)
or
Life and death and rebirth—Nesta (follows her journey)
Sun and moon and dark—Feyre (follows her journey—from the bride of Spring to the High Lady of the Nightcourt)
Rot and bloom and bones—Elain (potentially foreshadows her journey)
For the longest time, I’ve tried to understand how “bones” might fit into all of this. Then, someone noticed Nesta mentioning a fourth object.
Tumblr media
What if there truly is a prophecy about the sisters? What if they truly were destined to become fae, to become powerful, each in her own right? The Book of Breathings hinted at this—at their journeys—since ACOMAF, before Nesta and Elain were Made. What if them being Made was not just bad luck, but an attempt to make a prophecy come true?
Three sisters. Three brothers. Is everything truly a coincidence in SJM’s world?
What other powers does Elain have, and why did the Book of Breathings mention bones? Why did Nesta see a fourth object veiled in shadows, one that looked like a bone, and why is Elain, whose journey has yet to begin, the only other person who could wield such an object?
Some food for thought.
