By the by, I've created a short Bionicle animation! This was done in Blender to show off my Ehli project, working to recreate a few less-than traditional building and damage methods. Check it out! ^^
comparing the two Indy minfigs I own! Poor Cairo Indy has a few big cracks in the back of his torso and arm but he’s been holding out for quite a while. I definitely prefer the original, but I understand the new head mold is to allow for dual-sided expressions ;_;
Heyyy, I finally got my camera out again and put together a new version of my sigfig. I’ve been toying around with sigfig ideas for years feeling very put off by the less variability in female lego designs. This is a much cozier more intriguing interpretation that I feel represents me, so hopefully it sticks!
Back on my lego grind, here’s some fun shader stuff to incorporate glowing pieces. The regular emission shader in Blender applies globally to the mesh, so it can be good to break it up with things like edge detection node groups or textures
(How the blue stud would look without any variation. You lose all sense of it’s actual shape.)
I also love this fade out with the brainstalk from glowing to translucent plastic again. All you really need for that is the gradient texture node, and it looks great.
She’ll be rigged and animated soon, so stay tuned.
