Hi I’m getting into Fire Emblem Awakening as my first FE game (Classic Normal but I’ve nuzlocked in Pokemon before), any tips you can give to make the experience as enjoyable as possible?

it really depends on what you're into! Classic is definitely fun, but also a challenge. Since you're playing normal, it shouldn't be too difficult.

I'd say there are different ways to go about enjoying it. One way, you can always restart after a unit dies (makes it tedious, but fe units can be so charming sometimes that you just don't want to lose your character!). Or, you can pick up someone else to take their place.

I'm not great at giving advice, but one thing I would say, is don't be afraid to experiment with classes. Ofc it would probably make more sense to give appropriate classes to certain characters but hey with skill inheritance and all that, you can do a lot of things.

SPEKAING OF WHICH.. awakening and fates have this system where you can pair up 2 units for a child, and that's where the real fun begins. You can really make some powerhouses with the second gen unit if you plan accordingly (cough cough gale force on everyone cough cough) but one thing you have to remember is that the kid only inherits the first equipped skill from each parent.

Awakening also has the support system in which you can pair the units (s support is the final one) and reading those adds a lot of charm and flavor to the cast. Id definitely try to get those as well if you enjoy reading more into characters, because supports are probably the most you'll get outside of introduction chapters hahaha

But yeah, idk!! Fire emblem is really fun in the way where it makes you think, modern games kind of lack unit identity so you can really do anything with them, and that has both its upsides and downsides

But I hope you enjoy awakening!!!! I really like that game

I gotta ask, how are you playing Thracia alongside genealogy? Like... I dunno, so and so chapters from Thracia, then to the next chapter of genealogy, and trading offf that way? Sorry, I've just been wanting to do the same myself.

Ah! I actually played fe4 first and am now going through fe5. Sorry if my wording was strange!!! I should've used the word "as well" instead of "alongside", because I was mostly talking about it in the context of Finn's character in both games. Though if I were to do both at the same time, I'd probably play it in-game chronologically? Sorry again though! And thanks for the tags on that one post, made me smile hehe

I could go on bout Class of '09 and its writing but my main takeaway from that game is that they missed the chance to replicate the 2000s Teletoon era style of cartoon like your 6teens, Stoked, Detentionaires. Total dramas, etc
