So a thing about Surge, is how difficult a reformation will be.

The thing is, hating Sonic is built into her blood. She's been brainwashed to hate him no matter what.

Even with any frienships she made, no matter whatever happens

She'll still have the subconcious instinct to stuff her fist down his throat and electrocute him to ash over, and over. And because of how Kit will do whatever she wants, the final decison for the Imposter Syndrome pair to change lies with her.

Surge is as hard to change as Metal Sonic, their need and desire to defeat sonic is so built in, that its hard to change. The difference, is that Surge doesn't have a Doctor to push her back into the cycle, over and over. Assuming she doesn't have hallucinations anymore. And of course there's the whole buisness with Clutch...

But we have to believe she can make the choice to change, to fight her own nature, to want to be better.

every time i start to feel cringe for being too deep in the hyperfixation i remember the intense depression i have waded through and have to remind myself that enjoyment is fleeting (so grab it with both hands), and life is for loving (so hold that love close), and if anyone thinks i’m cringe they must not be having a very good time (and i hope they can find a good time soon).

Got an ask from someone claiming to be in Palestine needing mutual aid? Unfortunately there is a scammer going around and it’s likely the ask you got sent is the same one being sent by multiple accounts who target users interacting with Palestine posts. These blogs use the text/images off a real fundraiser and then post it here pretending to be the person it’s made for. Their accounts are usually only a few days old and they don’t interact beyond the ask/follow. Lately they might make the link to their PayPal account in different colors or claim their GoFundMe is pending so you will assume the real one is theirs. They don’t have any GoFundMe’s set up. They steal from them. If you need proof of something being stolen, searching the text of their post in a search engine should pull up the source. If you know how to report PayPal accounts, please report those used by the scammers.

Sad Headcanon Time!

Sonic doesn't like being around Gemerl.

It's nothing Gemerl did, really. Sonic's remarkably good at forgiving people that tried to kill him. Their eight or so fights over the course of the First Shattered World Crisis aren't really anything to hold grudges over.

But that's his kid. Except not. He found that robot on a beach and raised them himself. And then they died in his arms, asking him whether they should be glad that they were born. Whether their life was something to regret.

On some level, he knows that Gemerl doesn't have anything in them that's Emerl. Emerl's body crumbled to ash in his hands, and Eggman built copies of the design before. Gemerl is obviously just a refined version of the E-121 designs. But they're still painted in Eggman's colour scheme, they still have Eggman's mockery of Emerl's name. He visits Cream and sees this shadow of what he once loved, more robotic than Emerl ever was. It doesn't bother Cream. Why does it bother him so much?

(He still has the Emerald that was all that remained of Emerl. If he convinced Tails to install it in Gemerl's chassis, would it bring Emerl back? Is that even a good idea?)

So he stays away whenever he can.

Sage asks him to look after her 'father' when she goes. The angry, vicious, vindictive part of him, the part that only ever came out he was Darkspine Sonic, wants to spit back that Eggman offered only further torment when he killed Sonic's kid, why does he deserve anything besides scorn? He stomps it down. It won't help anyone if he lets it out.

(Sage comes back, of course. Like she never left, Eggman pushes a few buttons and he gets her back. Of course he gets the get-out clause. Gaias forbid Eggman experience consequences.)

please kill this idea that just because a female character is not physically strong and does not physically fight that her very existence is, by default, a sexist portrayal of women in media.

the “damsel in distress” trope is only harmful when that aspect of the character is all there is to the character. if the writers give attention to her backstory, her feelings, her struggles, and her development, then she’s not a faceless prop just being used for male empowerment. she’s a person. a person who happens to not fight.

there’s nothing wrong with that. and to push this notion that this is somehow bad and wrong and that women should never need saving, even in war and crime fiction, is ludicrous. it swings the pendulum too far in the other direction and creates the problem of only showcasing women who are physically fit, or butch, or masculine.

people come in all shapes, sizes, temperaments, and ideologies. stop worrying about stupid tropes and focus that energy on questioning whether or not a character is actually well-written and cared for by the author instead.

i think the most utopian part of the pokemon world is the careful balance between human advancement and nature. like the fact that humans have maintained a widespread relationship with nature and choose to preserve it even in the presence of large cities and civilization in general. it informs so much about the pokemon universe tbh. and most pokemon plots at their core revolve around the villain trying to disrupt that careful balance in some way which makes a lot of sense

i find pokemon like the grimer line and magnemite line interesting as well because they are pokemon born of pollution and factories and whatnot but people have also learned to coexist with them in a way that contributes back to nature such as muk eating garbage, therefore cleaning it up! like even when there’s negative side effects of human occupation of land it loops back around into supporting nature, too. us real life people need to do a little more of all of the above lol
