Inktober 31 "Fire" : Gandalf lighting pinecones. Really happy to have done it... and to be done because it takes longer and longer... This one took around 2h45. But I have to admit that without the challenge, I would never even think of drawing some of those subjects!

Inktober 28 "Sparkle" : Galadriel's Gift to Frodo.

Little trip to the past to compare today's drawing (Inktoer 28 "Sparkle", Galadriel's Gift) with the Baccarat pitcher I drew for my first Inktober in 2020. Next year maybe I should try to redraw things from previous years to see my progress. That pitcher was definitely both fancy (2020 theme) and sparkling!

Inktober 27 "Beast" : the displacer beast from Dungeons and Dragons. I never played that particular RPG, but this was one of my favorites when I watched the movie (for obvious reasons). Adding the legs to the reference picture of a black panther was fun...

Inktober 26 "Remove" : Excalibur. Not exactly of of the themes I said I would follow, but there are Arthurian undercurrents in both Lord of the Rings and Dungeons & Dragons... My daughter graciously agreed to model for me, and was quite disappointed that the sword isn't the one she was holding - I explained the concept of "artistic license" and she isn't convinced!

Inktober 25 Dangerous : Galadriel as Queen of the Rings. I first thought of Smaug or a Nazgûl, but those seemed a bit too obvious... Who would have thought a few years ago that I would willingly draw an Elf rather than a dragon?

Inktober 19 : plump. Had to check the definition to be sure that it would fit here, Bombur clearly fits the "has a full, rounded shape" bill. Was hoping to draw a Hobbit at first, but clearly the ones who go on adventures (and who appear most on the web) aren't the plumpest of the lot...

Inktober 18 : Saddle. Eomer on Firefoot (who knew that there are so few pictures available where the saddle can be seen???). Couldn't pass the opportunity to draw one of my favorite characters from Lord of the Rings. To be honest, first place changes from one day to the other, but it is definitely a choice between him and Faramir (don't get me started on what they did with Faramir in the movies...). With Aragorn in third place, because there is a point where too much perfection is a bit too much, if you know what I mean?
