When I listen to this song I can only think of the thirteen years Lan Wangji spent mourning Wei Wuxian. Let me explain :

The entire cultivation world fearing that wwx would come bsck and lwj wishing that he does. This connects to another line.

Lwj drinking emperor's smiles and having an absurd amount of it in case of his return or as an object for Evocation.

Once again every one saying that wwx will come back soon and lwj wishing that they are right.

The first line in this could be taken two ways. If you're a lwj played Inquiry ever say for 13 years truther you can interpret it as his asking an "empty room" aka a room full of spirits about wwx. Another way you could interpret it, wich is probably closer to the original meaning of the line, is lwj thinking about how wwx would respond or react to things happening in his day to day life. A ever present reminder of how he is no longer here to react. I imagine the second line as a sickly grief consumed lwj catching a glance of himself in a reflective surface or mirror. Lovely angst.

Lwj not wanting to continue living without wwx. But doing if for Lan Sizhui.

AND BECAUSE EVERYONE HATES WWX LWJ CAN'T EVEN PROPERLY EXPRESS HIS GRIEF.

Oh boy don't I got some news for you.

I found tgcf via some gorgeous fanart of two pretty men looking at each other like the other hung the stars on the skies so I came to check it out.

Fully expected it to be just a niche ship with no actual evidence in the show other than the fandom thinking they'd be cute together. But no. Hua Cheng and Xie Lian really are tenderly eyefucking every time they're in frame together. All of them.

The first time they meet in wedding attire, sauntering like they're literally walking down the isle. On the wagon. At the shrine while sharing a bed. In a devestating sandstorm mid air. In a giant pit filled with dead bodies and blood. It's insane.

The last time I've seen romantic tension this tangible in a show was in Yuri on Ice and that's REALLY saying something my dudes.
