i have a hc that sylvie named herself sylvie after some old woman in an apocalypse mistaked her for her long-lost daughter called sylvie (”look at you! all grown up! :’) and invited her inside and gave her food and warmth and as much love as she could before the world fell apart, and that was the only time sylvie had felt that in a very veeery long time. so to honor that woman, she called herself sylvie and hasn’t looked back ever since. the warmth and love in the name gives her the strength to carry on.

odin telling loki his “birthright was to die” reminds me of how parents tell you “i brought you into this life, i’m the reason you’re alive” in an argument therefore manipulating the guilt of deep ungratefulness inside you while simultaneously making you feel like you have to obey everything they tell you or dedicate all your achievements, all your essence to them because they gave you the right to that in the first place. you never feel like you’re enough and constantly like you owe someone something. and that’s not parenting, that’s a kind of mind prison and also why i relate to loki on such a fundamental level.
