jellybean jones - meeting the scooby gang
hello!! ♥ this is not going to be like my other fics, there’s no romance in here, but hopefully enough fluff to tide you all over for another day or so while I work on the next fic.
This was super fun to write and was from this request
Also, mini update, I have added up a masterlist and a writing que, so if you’ve requested anything recently, I have the order that I’ll be writing my requests in written up, so feel free to check that out!! That’s all, hope you enjoy the fic :)

The pebbly road under your feet was wet, a light sheen against the concrete as the rain pounded on the ground. Cold and harsh, it swept at your face, brushing against your skin with such an intensity you almost felt like it was turning you to ice.
Down the driveway your feet led, heading through the path towards the Andrews residence before clambering up the steps of the porch, pulling your umbrella through with you, popping it down so it returned to being a pocket sized instrument that you quickly stored into your bag.
Within a quick couple steps, you faced the large door forbidding your entrance inside, you hand lifting, forming a fist and knocking against the front with an intense bubbling excitement.
The sound of pattering feet—similar to paws—barking and a calm, serene voice grew closer and closer to the door, just as it opened, revealing the delighted face of Fred Andrews, holding Vegas’s collar tightly in his grip. Warmth floated out of the home, meeting with your face, allowing your mouth to crack a smile, and your cheeks to glow a pink tint.
“Jellybean Jones, it’s been a while.” He smiled, allowing you enough room in without releasing the wind into the home as well. Immediately he shut the door, and the chilly air from the outdoors almost vanished behind you.
Whipping off your coat, you knelt instantly next to Vegas, patting his head eagerly, rekindling your old friendship with the dog.
“It has, Fred Andrews. Also, I go by JB now. Sounds cooler, doesn’t it?” You mentioned, half joking.
“It does.” Fred nodded, clearly stifling a chuckle. “Your mom didn’t come this time?”
“No, she’s been pretty busy lately. She did drop me off, though, and she’ll pick me up again Monday morning.”
Fred smiled warmly in response, before sighing and glancing up the stairs towards Archie’s room. “Jughead, Archie and their friends are upstairs, they’ve been watching old sitcoms and eating take out from pops, believe it or not.”
“How intriguing.” You grinned, jumping to your feet with such force you pushed the rug underneath you off the ground. With a quick ‘bid adieu’, you set off up the steps, reaching the second floor ever so quickly, despite being rather reluctant to enter Archie’s room.
It had been ages since you’d last seen Jughead, and you’d never met his friends either. The idea of saying something stupid and screwing up any and all chance at being liked by what you considered to be the coolest group of people on earth since they sufficed Jughead’s standards, was as equally terrifying to you as being ravaged by dogs. Despite that being an exaggeration, you knew part of it was true. All you wanted was to make a good impression.
With a hand on the door, you pushed it open, revealing the group of five, sitting together in the darkness, the only thing lighting up the room being the moon outside and the screen of the TV in front of them, and the only noise being emitted was the laugh track from the show that played every couple seconds.
Archie sat on his bed alone, while Jughead and two girls all sat in a row on the floor, leaning against the foot of the mattress. Jughead was chowing down on popcorn, hogging the bowl entirely for himself. Another boy, whom you didn’t know the name of, was lying on the floor, hands folded up to hold up his head while his feet interlaced one another in the air.
Everyone stared intently at the screen, and it almost felt forbidden to break the silence.
“Hi…” You finally choked out, sending everyone to yell, jolting upright, almost so quick they could get whiplash. Their faces all swiveled in synchronization to face you, before breathing a sigh of relief in turn.
“Oh my god… You scared the living daylights out of me.” The boy you didn’t know the name of stammered, hand over his chest.
“Sorry.”
“JB!” Jughead smiled, and it was the kind of smile you’d only see on his face to someone he loved. It was rare, and felt strong and warm and almost formed the quintessential bond you had with your brother.
“Jug!” You beamed, running over to him only to be immediately enveloped by his long elastic arms.
“Hey! We haven’t even gotten to say hi yet, don’t hog her.” One of the girls pouted, her black hair bouncing as she leaned across the others’ lap to tap Jughead’s arm in an attempt to give you up.
“Fine. Fine.” Jughead sighed, and he released you after a couple moments, a soft smile still spread across his face.
“So, Jellybean Jones. I hear you’re a non-conformist.” The raven haired girl addressed as Archie paused the TV at the front of the room. As your eyes were adjusting to the lack of light, it almost felt as if everyone was staring at you.
“Er… Yeah, I guess you could say that.” You let out a small laugh, sitting down cross-legged on the ground to face the gang.
The raven haired girl lifted an eyebrow, sharing a glance with the blonde haired girl in the ponytail beside her.
“I’m Veronica,” she put out her hand, although it took you a moment to catch it and shake back.
“I’m Betty,” the blonde girl pronounced and then chuckled slightly at the fact that she’d spoken almost out of nowhere. You smiled back at her, catching Jughead’s keen gaze in her direction. You weren’t surprised, he always liked the good girls.
“So I hear you like Pink Floyd,” Kevin said, tipping over as he tried to edge closer, but pushing himself too far and ending up falling forward towards the ground, his hands sticking out to catch him.
“Also I’m Kevin…” he added reluctantly as he shook himself off the ground.
“Oh, I love Pink Floyd!!! No one can top them.” You clapped your hands enthusiastically and Archie laughed his iconic laugh from on top of the bed. Jughead slapped his leg from below, shushing him immediately.
“What??” You asked, furrowing your eyebrows at his out-of-context laughing.
“You’ve grown to be so much like your brother, it is ridiculous,” Archie claimed, suppressing another laugh as Jughead stared at him pointedly.
“Well, I wouldn’t mind that to be frank. My brothers pretty great if I do say so myself.” Your lips curved upwards, catching Jughead’s gaze as he smiled bashfully in return before looking down to his knees that he had been coddling in between his arms this entire time.
“Awh, Jughead’s embarrassed.” Veronica pointed out, “never thought I’d see that in my life.” Betty grinned, amused, jabbing a finger into Veronica’s side to get her to be quiet.
“Sorry.”
With that, everyone laughed at her response, including you, and with what felt like a happy, everlasting moment; you knew no matter what happened in Riverdale, these friends had Jughead’s back no matter what.

Writing Prompts
“He’s respectable, but, ya’ know, a little bit dodgy.”
“We only want to borrow the bar.”
“You said I’d have proper training!”
“No! I’m tired of doing what you say.“
“You must find it before the others do.”
“You’re too good for this world.”
“Oh my God. You’re in love with her/him.”
“Yeah, well it wasn’t funny.”
“It’s your turn to make dinner.”
“Don’t worry, I’ve got you.”
“I’ve been waiting a long time for you.”
“I swear, I’m not crazy!”
“Go and live with her/him, then! See if I care.”
“You’re a nerd.”
“Good thing I didn’t ask for your opinion.”
“I’m ready to try again, if you are?”
“If we both stick to the story, they can’t prove anything.”
“Do you think he/she crashed the car on purpose?”
“Is that my sweater/shirt?”
“If only I’d just gone over when she/he called.”
“You must find it before the others do.”
“I think the room is bugged.”
“That’s starting to get annoying”
“The landlord changed the locks.”
“You’re cute when you’re sleepy”
“I did a pregnancy test.“
"You had time to call the police. Why didn’t you?”
“It’s Christmas, don’t be mad at me.”
“It’s cute when you blush.”
“How long have you been standing there?”
“You’re seriously a man-child.”
“Is there alcohol?”
“I told you, no more pets.”
“You’re bleeding all over my furniture.”
“Are you coming to bed?”
“You belong to me and you need to accept it.”
“I’m kind of a big deal.”
“I just want a nice, easy life. What’s wrong with that?”
“A smart alec witch, how original.”
“I have to take you to the doctor.”
“You were meant to be watching him/her!”
“Well, this is where I live.”
“You make me feel like I’m not good enough.”
“I’m late.”
“I’m early.”
“Get out of the shower!”
“You smell like a wet dog.”
“Oh yes. We’re on.”
“The library is free.”
“You gotta get us a decent place.”
“Well, someone should sue them.”
“Can I ask you something?”
“When I’m as far away from you as possible.”
“That’s brilliant. That’s brilliant! Let’s do it!”
“Oh God, he’s serious.”

“Liar, liar, pants on fire!” - “Seriously, you’re worse than a kid.”
“You can’t ride a bike?” - “Why are we whispering?”
“Is it that time of the month?” - “You literally ask me that whenever I’m mad at you!”
“We’re going downtown.” - “There’s a strip club downtown.”
“You weren’t supposed to hear that.” - “Well, you shouldn’t be saying it then.”
“It’s not mine, I swear.” - “How is it not fucking yours!”
“Take it off.” - “Like a bandaid?”
“I told you…” - “Yeah, yeah, yeah, quit nagging.”
“Boo?” - “You’re my boo.”
“Don’t you ever do that again! You scared the shit out of me!”
“You broke what?!?” - “Don’t worry, I’m okay.”
“Why’re you dressed like that?” - “Does that mean it looks good or should I change?”
“Fine, just do what you have to do.” - “Can you stop being so freaking cute so I can concentrate?”
“…then I picked up your coffee by mistake.” - “All I want is an apology.”
“Well, this is awkward.” - “Don’t touch me.”
“You can’t make me.” - “What are you? Five?”
“You’re a blanket hog!” - “Leave me alone and stop being so selfish.”
“It’s not fair that you’re hot and funny.” - “Look who’s talking…just kidding, your jokes suck.”
“I hate you.” - “No, you don’t.”
“Should I be worried?” - “Is the grass green?”
“You’re kidding me?!” - “Shush, my mom never taught me.”
“I’m your lock screen?!” - “You weren’t supposed to see that.”
“Will you go with me?” - “As long as you hold my hand.”
“Baby, I’m scared.” - “You don’t have to be; not as long as I’m here.”
“Come inside, I’m sorry.” - “Not until you apologize.” - “I just said I’m freaking sorry.”
“Your voice is sexy.” - “Your ass is sexy.”
“If I asked, you’d say no.” - “You don’t know that.”
“Seriously, the chimney?” - “The squirrel can’t win!”
“32?” - “I’ll prove it!”
“It’s just so little and adorable.” - “That’s what she said.”
“You’re not mature enough to be a parent.” - “Try me.”
“Take a chance.” - “Umm…let me think…no.”
“Game’s over, you son of a bitch!!” - “Okay, just don’t hit me.”
“You forgot about my birthday!” - “In my defense, I forget about a lot of things.”
“You need more stamina.” - “No, I need more steak and eggs. So…get on it.”
“Can you dance with me?” - “You’re not mad?”
“I’ll smash it, I swear.” - “You smash it and we’re done.”
“Move!” - “Why would I move if I’m so comfy where I am?”
“I’m not going in.” - “Then we’re not going to get a treat after.”
“I really would’ve liked it if you told me your parents were coming to town.” - “I really would’ve liked it if you put underwear on before coming into the kitchen.”
“I found it in the recycling bin.” - “Well, you’re the one killing the environment, so who’s really in the wrong here?”
“We bet, and you lost.” - “But tattoos are permanent.”
“Can you quit being so sassy?” - “Can you quit being so controlling?”
“Are you getting jealous?” - “You’re changing your outfit, now!”
“What time is it there?” - “We’re in the same time-zone.”
“Quit flirting.” - “I didn’t mean to-”
“I just don’t know what happened.” - “You’re too good for them.”
“You have a cute nose, don’t make me break it.”
“Tell me what I can do to help.” - “Sing me to sleep.”
“You still need your baby blanket?”
“Did you black out?” - “I feel like I’m gonna puke.”
“Let’s just bury the hatchet.” - “Fuck your hatchet.”
“I bet it’s a boy.” - “I bet it’s a turtle.”
“Spare change?” - “You can’t be responsible, you don’t get your wallet.”
“Cuddle or leave.” - “So is that a no to supper?”
“Are you high?” - “I’m just so fucking tired.”
“Why did I marry you?” - “It took a lot of convincing.”
“Who’s texting you?” - “Umm. nobody.”
“You have two choices.” - “Neither of which I like…”
“I want a dog.” - “I want a cat.”
“Chinese food?” - “Do we even know what that’s made of?”
“These sheets are stained.” - “That’s disgusting.”
“You don’t know how to change a tire?” - “Give it a rest, would you?”
“That’s my ex-boyfriend/girlfriend.” - “Well, kiss me so they see.”
“We got lucky. You’re not gonna do that again, right?”
“Hey, babe, look what I found.” - “GET THAT OUT OF THE HOUSE NOW!!!”
“You’ve been replaced.” - “Alright, we’ll see how you feel when you need me to kill a spider in the shower.”
“Are those slippers?” - “Is that you being mean? AGAIN?”
“You forgot your book.” - “No, I lost my book!”
“You’re weird.” - “Or you’re just basic.”
“We need a vacation.” - “You read my mind too much, it scares me.”
“Why’d you hug him? You love him?”
“Sorry.” - “Good choice.”
“Luck? Nope. Skills.” - “If it’s skill then do it again.”
“Why can’t you just believe me?” - “Because you lied about it before.”
“This bath is too damn hot.” - “This is why we can’t do cute things. You complain too much.”

interconnecting - jughead jones
hi, everyone! sorry for not posting much, I’ve been pretty overwhelmed with stuff and at a total lack of inspiration. Currently, I haven’t received any requests, so my writer's block is pretty intense, but nonetheless I’m going to force this out of me because I feel like it might get the ball rolling for my writing. That’s all! Thank you ♥
If anyone would like a part two to this, please let me know! I’d really appreciate it, and genuinely would love to do a part two!
P. S I made the readers name Grace Quinne just for the sake of the stories flow, sorry!!
Tumblr media
The room was packed with life, people on every corner, whispering to one another, friendly, talkative, but loud for the most part. Music screamed in the air, convincing you of the pure horror that was your introverted being. You could only withstand a certain amount of people, but after it reached a point, it was as though you were being suffocated by the world around you. Thus, the reason you didn’t leave your house.
Your school was holding an informal party led by the student-faculty, and it felt about the right time to step out of your comfort zone and take a leap into the unknown. Sadly, the unknown consisted of other human beings and a lack of food and your laptop. Both of those things being incredibly delusional to you. In your attempt to resign from your spot as a true hermit, you asked for a ride from your parents, claiming you’d find a way home in the hopes you could catch a ride from one of your acquaintances from class, before forgetting the fact that you didn’t know many people, and they were fairly busy with their own things.
Sighing in frustration, you glanced down at your outfit in comparison to the other people around you. Cheryl stood with her posse a couple steps away, leaning against the stage of the room, each wearing tight slip-on dresses that fit their curves in the utmost natural way.
You had decided informal meant you could wear the usual get-up, not to mention you didn’t like dresses or skirts. So your outfit of choice was, of course, a yellow sweater crop top and an oversized denim jacket. Your sweater sleeves were rolled over the jackets’ and you took that as a keen approach on an outfit. It didn’t feel lazy. Pairing it with ripped black skinny jeans and docs, it felt absolutely perfect, until you saw everyone else, who, like Cheryl, were dressed to the tea. Absolutely clean and beautiful.
Rolling your eyes at the fact that it mattered so much to you, you turned on your heels, leaving the dance floor and heading towards the hall where the table was placed, full of chips and two chocolate fountains. That was enough to send you beaming, racing over and snatching just about one of everything.
A pale-faced teen stood slouched over against a wall, one arm under the other as he ate what looked like a slider of a cheeseburger. His head was cocked slightly, and his face glowed of amused perplexion.
Instantly, you realized how ridiculous you looked, scooping everything in your hands as if someone was threatening to take everything off the table the second you stepped away from it.
“There are plates, you know,” he said, finally, stepping towards you with a look of uncertainty glistening in his eyes, as though he was worried you’d take it poorly and throw back a retort.
“Oh.” You responded, dumbfounded as he passed you a plastic plate from the pile that was sat in the middle of the table. Immediately after, he reached up to his beanie, fixing it on his head before leaning in slightly as though he awaited a response.
“So, you’re too cool for the party, huh?” You blurted awkwardly and immediately regretted it; sending the boy to squint, as though he’d been taken aback, complimented by your response.
“Quite the contrary,” he claimed, smiling slightly, the edges of his mouth quirking up. You nodded, slowly, unsure of what he meant by that.
“Parties aren’t my thing. My friends dragged me here, they thought it might be ‘for my own good’, whatever that means.” He chuckled, shaking his head slightly. “Clearly, it hasn’t, because I’m back out here, alone,” he paused, glancing side to side in the hallway. “Except for you. So, what’s your story?”
“Er... I don’t know. This is my first proper outing other than heading over to a fast food place in a month. Nothing better than home, I’d say. Everything else just seems so, out of the ordinary? I don’t like it, I guess is the simple way to put it.” You claimed, biting into a chocolate croissant.
“Hey, look at that, we’re bonding. At least you don’t ogle over food ninety percent of the time.” He smirked, and I tipped my head to the side, raising one eyebrow as I grinned challengingly.
“Are you second-guessing me? Because I can surely prove you wrong.” You snorted, emitting your first laugh of the day. Your cheeks warmed, a rosy hue growing on them as he smiled back. No words were spoken.
“Sorry, but, it’s getting pretty late and I don’t think this party will get any better. So, I think I’m gonna get going.” You mumbled under your breath, upset that you had to leave; because despite hating the social gathering, you were enjoying the making of this friendship more than anything. Your bond over food was like no other connection you’d ever experienced before. It was laughable, really.
“I’ve got nothing better to do for the next,” he paused, checking the clock on the wall quickly, “two hours, why don’t I see you out.”
“I’ll take you up on that offer,” you smiled, turning gracefully on your feet as you left the room and headed off to the exit. He followed slowly behind you, and you rolled your eyes in disbelief. “You walk slower than my grandma, honestly,”
“Hey!!! That’s rude. I walk with class, slowly but surely so I don’t trip because I do that often and I’m working on it.” He claimed a little too confidently. You snorted, leaving the school. The cold fall air blowing against your arms, chilly, but nice. Your house wasn’t far off, and luckily it wasn’t too dark. And so, you both walked in silence down the street, no words being said. It wasn’t necessary, and it wasn’t awkward. While you walked along the cool cobblestone path, he balanced himself on the perch of the sidewalk, arms outstretched.
As though it had gone by in the blink of an eye, a smile grew on your face at the sight of your house. Taking a long, everlasting breath, you twiddled with your fingers, stopping so abruptly that the boy jolted backward, falling off the perch and catching himself before he fell to the ground. “Oh, sorry. We’re here!” you cringed, smiling, wide-eyed and excited.
“Ahh, I see.” He nodded, “see you around, I guess, hopefully.” He smiled, fingers forming a salute as he turned slightly to leave.
“Wait! I almost forgot! I don’t even know your name. I’m Grace, Grace Quinne,” you exclaimed before he could manage to take a step away.
He grinned, as though pleased you even cared. “Jughead Jones.”
“Nice to meet you, Jughead Jones.” You smiled coyly, practically beaming, “hope to see you around again sometime.”
“You too, Grace Quinne, you too.”
And so with that, you turned away, walking off down the path to the driveway of your house, but you could feel him staring, as though he was making sure you got home safe, even though it was not much more than two steps away.
And in that moment you felt the connection, a raw connection between two people that didn’t happen with just anyone.
Hope to see you around again sometime, Jughead Jones. I’d really hope.

jughead - you’re all wet
Side note before this begins. This specific story will be written in first person and will be told from a random characters point of view. When requesting from the starters please specify what P.O.V you’d like it in ♥
It was 11 PM on a Friday night. The rain was pouring heavily outside, drilling into my skin and washing away all the remaining confidence I’d had since I left the house to go to Cheryl Blossom’s party. She hosted them seasonally, and I’d never been invited. Out of the gang I was friends with, Archie and Veronica were invited continuously, with Betty being dragged along because--as Veronica claimed--she wouldn’t go without Betty. Jughead on the other hand... While he was invited, he chose not to come. He remained on the fence about his opinion of Cheryl, he claimed she was too dramatic, too invasive and far too galling for his taste. But this time around, I was handed an invitation as I sat with the gang at lunch on the benches just outside the school.
Jughead tried to convince me that it was a bad idea, claiming she wouldn’t do this without some sort of trick under her sleeve. That made me furious, I’d always been the broke kid at the back of the class, no friends, nothing except my laptop I’d saved up for myself after working hours upon hours at a job. For once I had friends, and was invited to the party that only the cool kids went to. This was important.
Once I’d reached the lot, I immediately stepped inside, swerving around each person in search of Veronica, Betty and Archie to no avail. “Look who it is, you actually decided to come, how sweet.” Cheryl’s sinister voice pressed from behind me, sending me to swerve around immediately.
“You didn’t listen to your friend, did you? Well, you should’ve.” Cheryl and her posse smirked in front of me, hands on their hips as she veered closer. I recognized one of the girls, remembering her sitting beside me that lunch when I’d been given the invite. “What do you mean?” I asked in response. Cheryl laughed, “Well, you dumb cow, if you hadn’t realized, you’re the biggest loser in this place. We wouldn’t let someone as broke and poor as you come here without working. People like you are the help, and that’s just how it is. So, I made you a uniform. Don’t worry, it’s personalized to fit you.” Cheryl smiled, holding her hand out as her ‘friend’ passed her a bright neon red shirt. She handed it to me, and I opened it up. On the back, it read “I’d blow you for five cents.”
Holding back tears, I pushed past them and headed for the door. Although the music was loud as can be, I could hear Cheryl’s laughter over it clearly.
Allowing myself to cry hysterically, I got into my car and pulled away, heading for the only place I wanted to go.
Quickly, I stepped out of the car, ran over to the front door and knocked three times. Immediately after, the door swept open and there he stood, his face falling as he saw mine.
“You’re all wet.”
Were the only words he said, his lips curved in a frown. I pulled off my converse, took off my jacket and sat on his ripped up couch and continued to sob. The shirt Cheryl gave me had been stuffed in the pocket of my jacket and I hadn’t noticed. The popping-red colour caught Jughead’s eye and he kneeled down to grab it, immediately opening it to read it. His expression grew soft, sad and then angry like always.
No words were spoken. He walked towards me, sat down on the couch beside me and wrapped his arms around my shoulders. I wept more, pushing my head into the crook of his neck, hearing his breathing and his heart beat. “You were right. I’m sorry... You were right...” I whispered. He sighed. “I wish I wasn’t.”
