big fan of tywin’s standard for being a lannister not even slightly resembling the history of the house it’s just something he made up. tyrion and jaime are extremely in line with the lannister legacy of guile heroism/being cunts but fail to live up to tywin’s vision for the house which never actually existed it references nothing

jaime and cersei are not doubles, they are not one soul in two bodies. they constructed that framework as an unhealthy coping mechanism, and it emotionally stunted them throughout their adulthood and teens. their povs are largely about jaime finally coming to this understanding and trying to finally grow beyond that (possibly too late) + cersei’s own doomed struggle for self-definition. their need to find completion in each other is and always will be an illusion, and their belief in it is a tragedy
