I don’t care what anyone says they can call me salty all they want unless issues are addressed it shouldn’t be forgotten just because they did one good thing/wasn’t toxic for a episode. I tend to give Mari a pass because she is legit forced by narrative to do bad shit ( like when she tried to stop adrien obsession) but everyone else particularly Adrien, Alya and friend group needs to be called out because they’re just bad

I'd say that this is less salt and more criticism of the show (even if it is tagged as salt). I do frown up on some of the cringe stuff Marinette did, but I give her a pass and defend her because she always gets punished in some way, even if it isn't her fault (with one of the most WTF?! examples being Quilin; just to give people a taste of what she has to deal with). Marinette is a character you can safely say that the narrative and/or writing decisions have screwed over (same goes for Luka, Kagami & Chloé).

On the other hand, we have people like Alya and Adrien (especially Adrien) who are always (always!) portrayed as being in the right when they're absolutely not. While I can go on a rant about how Alya acts like a hypocrite (e.g. promising Marinette to keep Rena Furtive a secret, then immediately goes behind her back and tells Nino about it) or her toxic behavior as a friend, Adrien is the worse offender here.

It doesn’t matter what he does, whether its threatening to quit in the middle of a battle (Syren), being jealous of Ladybug having temporary heroes because he couldn’t bother to show up and help her (Kuro Neko), gaslighting and emotionally manipulating Marinette (Maledictator & Oblivio), doing nothing while Ladybug has to do all the work for both of them (Oblivio), murdering Aeon (New York Special) and attempting to murder Alya (Hack-San), being reckless (every goddamn episode), having a temper tantrum and destroying someone’s property when excluded from a plan, then almost messing up said plan (Sentibubbler), lying to his friends and strangers on purpose because he wants to hang out with Ladybug (Glaciator & Copycat), being an irresponsible superhero (Prime Queen & Reflekdoll), outright refusing to help because Ladybug isn’t romantically interested in him (Glaciator & Frozer), ignoring reality for a stupid fantasy (Ladybug), hoping for people to get akumatized so he can hang out with Ladybug (Lies), emotionally cheating and ignoring Kagami who is his girlfriend (Lies), not giving a damn about Ladybug’s own feelings and fears (Truth, Gang of Secrets & Prime Queen), not giving a damn that Marinette could’ve been killed if she hadn’t been Ladybug and forcing a kiss on Ladybug (Weredad), etc.

I could go on and on, but I think you get my point. Adrien is not a good hero. He is not even a good person. The fact that he has been a victim of emotional abuse doesn’t give him the excuse to abuse other people. Seriously, whenever he opens his mouth, it’s always Me, me, me, me... He doesn’t give a damn about how others feel and he won’t do a thing until something affects him personally. He never reflects on his own mistakes, but deflects them and blames others for them. He is always portrayed as perfect, as an example that should be followed and his pity parties are supposed to make the viewer feel sorry for him.

I could blame the writing for this, but I stopped caring because just how awful it is. Kuro Neko was my breaking point, as it shows that Adrien can be responsible and competent superhero, but he chooses not to, preferring to be reckless and whine about unfair treatment when he doesn’t do a damn thing to earn anything.

Honestly, that’s why I rather prefer the Ladybug PV; and Félix over Adrien.

Just a small note. There isn't a lot of information about Piltover Academy, so this is all my own imaginings; I apologize if it's horribly incorrect, but this is how I see it in my head. It’s been two weeks since you first met Viktor and you haven’t been able to stop thinking about him. You stop suddenly, your eyes landing on the booklet that Sky had given to you on your first day at the academy and an idea pops into your head. You quickly fix your hair and make sure your appearance is immaculate before leaving your room and making your way down the long hallway in search of your new friend, luckily, she isn’t too hard to find. As you enter the dining hall you see her just sitting down with her tray of food and you decide to share a meal with her, grabbing your own tray and filling it with all your favourites before sauntering over to her and sitting down across from her with a smile.

“Sky, just the person I was looking for.”

She clearly did not see you coming since she almost chokes on her sandwich, quickly taking a drink of her water to try and wash it down.

“Y/N, you really snuck up on me. How are you?”

“Sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you. Anyway, I’m sorry to bother you, but I was hoping you could show me around a bit? Since you clearly know so much about the Academy; and as a student I’d love to see more of it since I only really get to see the parts where I go for my classes.”

Her eyes light up and she nods excitedly. While you’re doing this in the hopes of running into Viktor, it isn’t exactly a lie, you would love to see more of this beautiful building and all the secrets it holds.

“Oh, I’d love to. This place is magnificent, people really should try to see all of it when they study here; but so few people seize the opportunity to do so.”

You both finish your food, depositing the trays in the rack by the door before walking out. She leads you all over the Academy; showing you the rose gardens on different balconies, massive research rooms where students furiously work on their next inventions, dance halls where groups practice for their next performance, there’s even a massive kitchen where the most delicious smells flow from as the pastry chefs and head chefs of tomorrow practice their art. The Academy is like a living organism, everyone serving a purpose; be it to further the Academy in some way or to help Piltover become the city of progress it has promised to be. While all of this is awe inspiring and fascinating; it’s not really why you asked her to show you around, and you’re starting to run out of hope that you’ll be lucky enough to see him. When suddenly your efforts are rewarded as you turn a corner and almost walk into Professor Heimerdinger. The yordle nimbly moves out of the way of your impeding feet and does a quick spin to face both you and Sky as you stop and turn to apologise to him.

“Good afternoon, ladies. Ah, Sky, just the person I was looking for. I need your help with a small matter.”

He looks over at you and does a small approving nod.

“Perhaps you could help me as well.”

He holds out a stack of papers he had been carrying and you tentatively take them, watching him curiously.

“Please take those to my assistant, he’s been asking for them all day and I seem to keep getting side-tracked in taking them to him. His room is at the end of that hallway, can’t miss it, it’s the one that usually has classical music coming from behind the door.”

Before you can ask anything or even try and protest, he and Sky are already halfway down the hall, chatting as they go. You glance down at the stack of papers, noticing that they seem to be scientific drawings and calculations as well as notes on… some kind of machine. You can’t be sure; this really isn’t your area of expertise. So, you start to make your way down the hall and in the direction the professor pointed you. The dulcet tones of “Für Elise” drift down the hallway to greet you before you can even see the door, and you smile to yourself at the familiar tune, humming along to it as you go. The door in question is made of Rosewood and the doorknob seems to be made of a black metal of some kind. Steadying yourself; you take a deep breath, not sure who you’ll be meeting, but they clearly have good taste. You knock three times and then wait, listening for any sounds on the other side of the door that indicate movement and are met with a familiar sound. The sound of a cane hitting the floor and then suddenly keys jangle and turn, the lock clicking over loudly, before the door swings open to reveal… Viktor. He looks only momentarily surprised before stepping aside and gesturing for you to come inside.

“Y/N, it’s a pleasure to see you again. Do come inside.”

It’s less of a request and feels more like a challenge, his expression coquettish and inviting as he watches you enter his abode. His residence is obviously much bigger than yours since he’s no longer a student here; but the design is similar with the living area and kitchen being attached and somewhat open plan, everything is decorated in deep, rich colours and beautiful furniture; you immediately spot the door leading to his bedroom and it seems to be slightly ajar. You try and peek inside but feel his hand come to rest on your shoulder before you can, stopping you and turning you around to face him. With a playful smile you hold out the papers from Heimerdinger towards him.

“I was asked to bring these to you. Apparently, you’ve been asking for them. Is it something you’re building?”

With a soft chuckle he takes the papers and places them on a coffee table in the centre of the room before turning back to you.

“Not exactly. Heimerdinger has asked me to help fix something of his.”

You nod as your eyes drift back to the door to his room, wondering what secrets it holds. And suddenly, without you even hearing him move he’s at your ear, his voice thick and rich with desire.

“You seem awfully curious about my sleeping arrangements. Is there something you’d like to know?”

You give Viktor a coy smile as you take a small step back to look up at him, clasping your hands behind your back to slightly push out your breasts.

“Sir, are you inviting me into your bedroom? But we barely know each other.”

This is a dangerous game you’re playing by the heated look in Viktor’s eyes; he taps the handle of his cane with one finger, the soft thud drawing your attention to the motion. The moment your eyes leave his you hear his voice become breathy as he speaks.

A shiver runs down your spine as he steps back and you oblige, slowly stripping as your eyes hold his gaze in the reflection of the window. Once he’s done, he moves closer, pressing his body against yours and pushing you forward. Your hands press against the window to try and stop him from pushing you even more forward, then you feel his hands slide onto your hips as his cane falls to the ground, the loud thud a stark contrast to both your deep breaths.

irksinbin anon) ahh thank you! If it isn't on twitter (I have a feeling it isn't since it's an ask answer), could you paste what you said about creating nsfw fics for beginners? i was the original asker of that post and used to look to it for inspiration.

First off, apologies for taking so long to answer this! I’ve actually been trying to find this post, and I’m not sure I’m finding the right one...?

I’ve copied two “maybe could be it” posts under the cut. If neither of these are right, do you remember any phrases I could use to search by? I really do wanna help you out with this!

Anonymous: in regards to #justsaydick I also kinda think that even with erotica, culturally up until like the last decade or two (hell if I know) in maybe mainstream stuff the saying of genitals or even things regarding sex was kind of frown on or people were more so embarrassed about saying it like it was. So you had to come up with adjectives to otherwise saying dick, cock or penis. But yeah, #justsaydick

Yeah, this is a very valid point. People can write about sex, but they can’t, you know, write about sex, that’s *whispers* dirty. So instead they disguise it in such flowery language that you can barely tell what’s happening at all.

That’s probably another part about why complicated euphemisms bother me. There’s nothing wrong with finding sex uncomfortable. I totally understand that and think all sexual content should be opt-in, not opt-out. Don’t just cram unannounced sex scenes into things. But if you are gonna write a sex scene… just write the sex scene! “I want to write about sex, but I don’t want to be dirty about it” doesn’t seem like it’d really please anyone, except perhaps similar people who are interested in reading about sex but don’t want to admit to themselves that they are. And that’s an unfortunate mindset to have, borne from society’s promotion of sex as something somehow simultaneously perfect and evil…

There are times were “cock” won’t work, I do admit that. I fling it around in stuff like gross monster porn, but it never feels right for me in more tender scenes that are more about the emotions than the act. But even then, there are better ways around that than “engorged pleasure center”. Yikes. My own tactic is to try to word things so I don’t have to call it anything at all, we all know how sex works, but I’m sure there are other options that are still better than that.

…and in the interest of fairness, I’d also like to point out that #justsaydick goes the other way around, because the euphemisms can also be too crass rather than too vague. You haven’t cried until you’ve read an anal scene that tries to unironically use the phrase “Hershey Highway.” please just say asshole. that shit’s no better

First of all, thank you for the compliment! <3

I say knowing your follower base would be good - what kind of fandoms do you normally post? If you run a primarily OsoSan blog, posting NSFW shouldn’t be too bad because it’s an R-rated show anyway. I know that young teens do watch it, but still, it feels like a less abrupt switch from fluff to smut on an OsoSan blog than it would on something more aimed at a younger audience, and I would hope that most young teens would know that this fandom is mainly an adults’ playground and they need to be careful not to accidentally stumble or purposely sneak into attractions not meant for them. If you think you might have a younger fanbase, though, especially if your blog is for a fandom meant for a younger fanbase and care shouldn’t be so necessary for them, then I suggest making a sideblog. In either case, maybe you can make the sideblog and then link it from the main blog so people have to click a link before getting thwacked in the face with smut? Wherever you post it, then as long as you tag/warn appropriately, you should be good. For me personally, I used to post relatively tame NSFW on my main blog under copious amounts of text warnings and read more cuts, but once I started getting more into kink and wanted to start reblogging pictures, that’s when I made this blog, briefly linked to it from my main, and now I only give it out on request just because I want to at least try to keep under-18s out of here.

I hope this isn't a stupid question, but how did you get your art noticed? I just started to post my art on here and I was just wondering.

Ah, that’s a bit of a complicated answer, actually. (But not a stupid question!)

(Note: This kind of applies mostly to those who fanart, so yeh.)

Let me start by saying that:

# Of Notes Does Not = Self Worth.

Because it’s really, really important to remember that you exist and have value as a person outside of the attention of others, especially on this website. That being said, there’s absolutly nothing wrong with wanting appreciation. Everyone deserves appreciation.

So, let me tell you a little bit about my Tumblr art journey. Way back in 2013 when I first joined, I posted my first art on here and got 5 notes. [ x ] (And my first ‘fanart’ got 5 more notes.) At the time, I had only joined Tumblr so I could talk to my favorite fanfic author at the time, and I hadn’t really settled into the whole Tumblr of it all. I wasn’t really in a fandom, I wasn’t expecting anything, I didn’t know the 5 tag rule, or the ‘no-no’s of Tumblr. What i’ve learned over time, however, is that you’re going to have to be actively paying attention to a lot of different aspects of Tumblr, fandoms, pop culture, current events, memes, movies, etc etc etc. So #1 is going to be: PAY ATTENTION TO THE WORLD AROUND YOU:

A lot about posting art on here and aiming for recognition is riding the ‘wave’, so to speak. See a fresh new meme you can throw at your favorite ship? Do it, make them wear pants one way or the other, here come that boy. (Does Derek Hale wear them like a dog, or a person?) New preview for a movie/show that catches your attention? Doodle a scene from it. Did an actor sneeze popcorn out their nose? Draw Batman doing that. Why not? The second part of this, though, is knowing what and when to contribute. Sometimes it’s not a good idea to make light of a current event, or reference/draw a problematic celebrity, or support a certain film. So looking into these things first is probably a good idea, because there are people out there who won’t care that you didn’t know that so-and-so did something horrible, they’re here to tear you down and hurt you regardless. (I’m sorry, but this is 100% true, there’s no sugar coating it. Some people are just assholes.) So, while you’re keeping an eye out for something funny or a fun mashup of fandoms, always try to be aware of the less-fun issues that are around too. And, if you mess up / did not know / accidently phrase or draw something problematic / etc, IT’S OKAY. You are not a horrible person. You made a mistake, that does not make you evil, okay? Apologize, remove or fix the thing, and don’t do it again. But please don’t beat yourself up about it, or listen to anyone else beating you up over it. It happened, you’re now aware of the thing, and it won’t happen again. Anyway, #2 is: THE WILD WORLD OF FANDOMS AND SHIPS :

I’m going to start off this one with a tiny warning. Watch out for fandom drama. Look out for the people starting fights just to fight, look out for the people pushing their ideas on others with no regard to anyone else at all, look out for the people using your content as a soap box from which they spout their opinions from. I’m not saying everyone in the world of fandoms does these things, but good god there are a lot of them out there who are more than willing to start something if you so much as sneeze in their general direction.So, if and when you post content/art/etc in, say, your favorite trope, and someone hops onto your post and starts caps-locking about how this trope promotes ‘something they don’t personally like but is not actually a major problematic thing’ and how y’all gonna burn in hell for this art, try to avoid engaging with them. Because they’re honestly not here for a discussion, otherwise they would have probably sent you a private message, sans the caps lock, and requested an opportunity to talk about this. Also, this is a matter of personal likes and dislikes, for which you are not responsible for. You do not have to cater to every single person on Tumblr. You also don’t have to love every ship, every character, every idea, every story line, every moment of every film, TV, book, magazine, interview, anything. No one has to broadcast their hate for these things either. If it’s not hurting you or others, you probably don’t need to create content with the express purpose of attacking a different ship/etc. ( If it is hurting others, try the more diplomatic way first, and report their asses to Staff.)Which leads me to #3: CATER TO THE MASSES (But also, like, love yourself) :I’m not saying sell your soul. (Seriously, please don’t, the Art Institute isn’t worth it.) But a lot, I mean a LOT of what I do is to feed my fans and friends. (Also, commissions are basically getting paid to feed your friends and fans whatever art goodies they want to pay for, so there’s that too) A good sum of my time is spent drawing things I have literally no interest in, or have very little knowledge about, or am up to drawing but aren’t 100% invested in. But I still do the thing, because I respect other’s likes, and it appeals to people i’m drawing it for, and I’m always happy to make others happy. (And sometimes I actually grow to like a thing.)

So, draw some stuff that other people would like to see. Are peeps out there begging for an assassin AU? (You bet your hiney they are! I’ve doodled some myself, hoo-boy.) Do some assassiny things. Are people always sighing about the lack of decent back story about so and so? Doodle a little moment from the past. Friend says they just want some Mpreg? (APOCATITS) Feed them, feed them the art. But--huge BUT here--do not sacrifice your values and comfort.

If something bothers you, is out of your comfort zone, is something you have trouble drawing and just don’t want to tackle right now, DO NOT DO THE THING!

Second but--another huge BUT here--Make art for yourself.

To quote Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead:

Guildenstern: “Is that what people want?” The Player: “It’s what we do.” Create for yourself. Give water and sunlight to that little seedling of an idea in your mind, try and try again to create that moment or look or design. Ignore art requests like a boss, and draw something to feed your own needs. Because you deserve to be pampered and treated to art of your favorite thing just as much. :D This is leading into #4, which is: CREATE UNTIL YOU DIE DRAW UNTIL YOU STOP AT A DECENT AND HEALTHY POINT IN TIME:

Please do the thing. Please draw to your heart’s content. Please push yourself, expand, experiment, practice, take breaks, draw some more, and some more, and some more. Please don’t give in to self-doubts, frustration, envy, or art blocks. It’s okay to let things go for a while, to step back, to stop working on a drawing that’s just not working. But do not give up forever. I’m saying this for you, personally, but also for the goal that you’ve set before you. To achieve a certain level of appreciation, to get noticed, to be seen, you have to keep creating content. So, to sum it up:

Be kind to yourself and others, pay attention to what’s hip and happening, forgive your mistakes, avoid drama if you can, Feed the Fans, Do as the cat and do what you want, and keep up the good work.
