Watched that scene with Laurance at the lake again, and I just gotta talk about the most complicated part or watching Aphmau for a second here

So when you watch and you see a character doing or saying something creepy, it can kinda fuck with who the character is to u. I think it is important to remember during scenes like this that there is the way we as the audience are viewing the character now, and there is the way we are supposed to be perceiving their action.

For example, with the lake scene, Laurance talks to Aphmau as if Aphmau is a sort of prize. He remarks that if it weren't for his care for Garroth he would "take her now". Which is obviously gross and creepy. I do not like this. However, we as the audience are not supposed to find this creepy, the ideal reaction is "awww he cares so much abt Garroth <3", so like, what's my point?

I think if u want to kinda ignore the creepy stuff like this it's okay. Like seriously guys its an 8 year old abandoned minecraft rp its okay to like problematic characters!! They're all fucked up!! If u want to say "that scene was not supposed make his character like that" fucking do it man!! And if u see that scene and think "this dude is weird as hell and he make me uncomfortable" that's fine!! You don't have to like him, it was gross af. Ur opinion should be respected. Just be nice to each other. Don't go fighting people about their dislike of a character and don't go arguing with people about their liking. We're all trapped in this fandom hell anyway
