He's everything to me.” #Part two of the fun part of this dynamic is that LWJ is ever so lightly self aware enough to LOATHE THIS CRUSH. #Hence why I have been marinating on this 'Accidental Lan headband miscommunication' concept. #This is how LWJ assumes that WWX knows what the band means in this AU. HOWEVER Akashi’s profile would totally be like cafe date vibes, libraries and very just. CALMING AND NICE AND I’D DO THE SAME AS YOU. The only thing is I think his prompt responses (I’m on hinge so this is the only dating app format ik) wouldn’t really give you tooooo much to work with but it’s ok no one can be perfect.

I think kuroo’s would be like super bf material tho. I fully get the anxiety of feeling like you don’t deserve to go to a show. It comes with the whole competetive fandom stuff.

Honestly, as someone who has performed on a lot of stages with varying kinds of crowds, the most important thing isn’t if you’re the biggest fan or if you know the lyrics or some choreography or bring gifts. The thing that is the most valuable is that you go to the show to have a good time. That’s all the artists are generally looking for. That people enjoy their music, enjoy the show, are excited to be there.

Some people may be disappointed that they don’t get a ticket, sure. But it’s not you taking that ticket away from them. Not everyone can have everything. Sometime people don’t get concert tickets. That is not your fault for buying. It is a thing that happens when everyone has the right to buy concert tickets instead of them being raffeled off or gifted. If the show was just for the biggest fans, tickets would be give out as competition prices, not to the person who buys them.

And there is no right way to enjoy the show. Some superfans never learn lyrics because they don’t particularly care. Some people buy tickets to go see random artists just for the experience. Some people just love to give gifts and find that to be the best way of interacting. Your way of doing it is just as valid as all that. You don’t have to earn any right to be there, that is what the tickets are for.

And honestly, you’d be surprised by the number of people who have never even heard of an artist or band who just show up for the show because they had a day off and it could be fun. It’s not about deserving to be there. It’s about wanting to go and getting the chance to actually do that.

I don’t know if this little pep talk eases your mind at all, but I hope it does. Learning to let go of the competetive mindset and attitude when it comes to regular life stuff is a chore and a half. I just want you to know that I would love for you to go to the show.

I can’t say Live By The Sword is going on my favorites list but it was sure nice to hear the snap of that snare starting off. So crisp. I was smiling while listening to it and imagining Charlie play it, but sad at the same time.

Maybe I’m being over dramatic, but I honestly never want to listen to this album again. It makes me viscerally angry that they threw away more than a decade of Charlie’s work, the last of everything he produced as a musician, to put out this piece of soulless, corporate rock trash.

For my money, “Live By The Sword” has one redeeming attribute, and that’s that they only kind of mutilated his drum sound on it (there’s still a bit of cymbal splash and snare), rather than completely destroyed it. As happened on the aptly named “Mess It Up.”

All I got from this experience is that this band has outlived its reason for existence as a creative endeavor.

#I fully admit I went into this thinking I wouldn’t especially like the album #but I’m shocked by how bad it is/how much I hate it #I know they’re obsessed with this idea that all the blues and many of the jazz guys of the old school went on until they died #but a huge part of why that happened wasn’t some aesthetic commitment to the music #many were broke and they couldn’t live without performing. either b/c of bad record deals or lack of large scale success #I’m not saying Mick and Keith and Ronnie should stop playing live #but the Winos could easily come back together (except whatever the fuck Steve did to alienate Charley Drayton) and Ronnie always has sideman #gigs on offer and Mick plernty of solo stuff #it would be a much better and more respectful look to let the Stones as a band go #the rolling stones #hackney diamonds #ask response #anonymous

#chirp #the photos aren't enough... #i say with 25 queued... #inane and sudden desire to become a gifmaker has overtaken me :0 #would probably take a lot more time + effort than what i already do but i imagine most of these photos have been posted before... #so even if i've never seen them around i sometimes feel bad in posting them #i don't really watch many concerts though #whereas i read the interviews just to try and see what inspired the songs. good album recs from the band. so on so forth. #its worth it bc every few years they'll get an interviewer who's a total music theory nut #still love the guy who confronted thom about his use of pedal tones.... and geeked out about the creep progression. he gets me. #not to mention seeing all the people who interviewed them in their early days bring up stuff like pop is dead ten years later just because #and then there's the fun facts like nigel telling them they couldn't eat until they were done with 2 + 2 = 5. mad dog selway. #thom insisting 5 or 6 times so far that hail to the thief is a sexy record... why... but you get the idea #not sure why i'm saying any of this or what the Point of this set of tag ramblings is supposed to be uhh. #maybe i'll make gifs in the future but there are a lot more interviews to go... and lots of old ones i want to look at again... #and even more to chase down if they're not up on citizeninsane. so i might be all rh'd out (impossible) by then. #i'm also not reading the interviews For the photos or ''clout''... it's for the anecdotes. my doc for notes on them is literally the size o #a middle grade novel... it’s not that i don’t think guys can be cutesy but there’s something that feels so manufactured about the why male idols are presented that makes it feel funny to me? like i’m not laughing bc i think guys can’t be cute or that male cuteness is funny or anything like that it just feels so performative that i can’t take it seriously? and obsvly i’m not talking about real idols i’m talking about fictional ones like en****st*rs or id**olish7 these characters i can’t take seriously bc they don’t feel authentic to me i can’t really accept them
