Úrsula Corberó, Charles Dance, Richard Dormer Join Eddie Redmayne in ‘The Day of the Jackal’ Series. (THR, February 23, 2024)

Additional new cast members for the large-scale assassin show for Sky and Peacock, which also stars Lashana Lynch, include Chukwudi Iwuji, Lia Williams, Eleanor Matsuura and Jonjo O’Neill.

Eddie Redmayne and Lashana Lynch will be joined by Úrsula Corberó, known for her role as Tokyo in Netflix hit Money Heist, Charles Dance (Game of Thrones, The Crown) and Richard Dormer (Fortitude, Game of Thrones) in the upcoming TV adaptation of The Day of the Jackal for Sky and Peacock.

Corberó will play Nuria, “someone at the heart of The Jackal’s personal life, entirely unaware of who he truly is,” while Dance will feature as Timothy Winthrop, and Dormer will play a character called Norman.

Also joining the cast are Chukwudi Iwuji (Guardians of the Galaxy, The Split) as Osita Halcrow, Lia Williams (The Capture, The Crown) as Isabel Kirby, Khalid Abdalla (The Crown, The Kite Runner) as Ulle Dag Charles, Eleanor Matsuura (The Walking Dead, I Used To Be Famous) as Zina Jansone, Jonjo O’Neill (Andor, Bad Sisters) as Edward Carver, and Sule Rimi (Classified, Andor) as Paul Pullman.

Redmayne plays the famous fictional assassin in the original series based on the Frederick Forsyth novel and award-winning 1973 film adaptation of the same name from Universal Pictures. The star is also executive producing the show.

The Day of the Jackal is being billed by the producers as a “bold, modern reimagining of the beloved and respected novel and film.” While staying true to the DNA of the original story, which was set in 1962 and based on attempts to assassinate French president Charles de Gaulle, this contemporary drama will delve deeper into the chameleon like “antihero” at the heart of the story in a “high octane, cinematic, globetrotting ‘cat and mouse’ thriller,” set amidst the turbulent geo-political landscape of our time.

Ssera! My body-mind (let's call her Lia) had a dream but she's starting to think it wasnt so much a dream (because of nondualism). Like I'm thinking, maybe she ACTUALLY "shifted" to that experience????

So Lia went to sleep, and she started to "dream" that she became another character (let's call the second character Sophia). Sophia was at the airport with friends and family. They went inside and said they'd be right back to get her. Meanwhile, Sophia being recognized at the airport because of her beauty and some girls even followed her (nor in a creepy way), asking her where she was from - LIKE "you're from [this country] and [this country], right?" It was almost like she was famous and people knew her but at the same time, she was leaving at the airport for a vacation with her friends and family!

Sophia knew where she was and she even thought ("Huh? They know where I'm from? Did I become someone else?" Am I not Lia anymore"). Sophia continued walking around the front of the Airport because she was bored (not much time was passing, only like 5 minutes). She kept checking on her messages and she even saw contacts there like friends that Lia never had. An airport security even approached her, asking "Are you lost? Do you need to find where to go?" And Sophia responded, "Oh, but I don't have my ticket." And the security guard told her places she could go and said be careful for other places. I guess because they would ask her to go through security? But thr security guard seemed to make an exception for Sophia!

(And Sophia realized she wasn't sure why her family and friends left her outside but she was 100% SURE that they would come back to get her because she was supposed to leave with them! Lia doesn't quite remember but she thinks Sophia had her luggages with her, like a carry on backpack..).

THEN Lia woke up before she could find out more and remembered what she "dreamed," but Lia was like, "No way that's a coincidence. I've never dreamed and thought 'Am I not Lia anymore?' EVER!"

Lia knows signs don't exist, but that felt too real... the fact that Lia could THINK in this dream, when usually she just lets the dream happen makes ME realize that, what's really the difference between "dream" and "reality?"

Just wanted to share, I thought it was super cool!!

Sempre lia livros e autores como André Vianco, Stephen King, J.k Rowling, era muito fã dos diários de um banana, até que um dia na biblioteca do Sesc, fiquei sabendo que havia um setor proibido para menores de 18 anos. Eu tinha 13 anos de idade e matava aula quase todos os dias e ia para a biblioteca do Sesc ou do BNB. E um dia a bibliotecária estava de bobeira e eu fui até o setor proibido para menores e peguei um livro. Lolita, escrito pelo Vladmir Nabokov. Eu não saberia descrever um terço da experiência que foi ler aquele livro. Acho que eu me senti lido pelo livro enquanto o lia, aquela fora a primeira de muitas vezes que eu me senti conectado com um livro. A segunda vez eu ainda tinha 13 para 14 anos, ainda estava obcecado com a história contada pelo Vladmir, e eu comecei a trabalhar em uma locadora de filmes, e comprei meu primeiro livro que foi o incrível Misto quente do Charles Bukowski, e foi lendo esse livro que eu descobri que gostava de escrever e que o Henry Chinaski era parecido comigo, e aí eu vi pela primeira vez meu reflexo em um livro. Daí depois vieram outros; o Apanhador no campo de centeio, livro esse que dialogou com a minha puberdade. E o magnífico Heathcliff em O morro dos ventos uivantes. Mas tudo mudou quando eu conheci o livro que seria a minha bíblia sagrada e o motivo pelo qual eu desejaria coturnos e uma adolescência boêmia, On thr Road, escrito pelo Jack Kerouac. A geração Beat me fez entender o que era de fato ser um escritor, e através disso conheci autores incríveis como; Allen Guinsberg, John Fante, Willian Burroughs. E também foi uma porta de entrada para os escritos da geração perdida, Scotty Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway. e como não citar a minha maior inspiração; Walt Whitman. E como diria Joseph Conrad, atravessei a linha de sombra. Todos esses autores e livros fizeram moradas longas em meu coração e mente, mas mudaram-se para o subconsciente. Atualmente outros residem lugares que antes eram ocupados por Homens e mulheres que fizeram de mim alguém que escreve com o coração. Atualmente vivo cercado pelas borboletas amarelas que encontrei abrindo Cem anos de solidão do Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Ou então a minha frustração com o tempo que é ilusório, aprendi mais sobre o tempo passando as páginas de Thomas Man, A montanha mágica, do que com a vida em si. Me apaixonei por baleias lendo Moby Dick, mas sinto que essa paixão sempre viveu dentro de mim. Descobri recentemente que viver é coisa muito perigosa lendo Grande sertão: Veredas do João Guimarães Rosa. E no topo um livro diferente de todos, mas eu coloco ele como um lado meu que quase ninguém conhece, e até apresentei esse lado recentemente para alguém, mas ele não valorizou.

Let's just say you met him as his co-worker who he happen to bump into at the office. Or needed some help from time to time with the papers. Would probably feel bad that you're even here in this place instead of somewhere nice. When he mentions that he needed someone to watch over his daughter for a few days, he's amazed why you didn't question why since most would ask where would he go.

His go to excuse is to find another job that could one up this dumpster fire of a workplace. To be honest he's the most relaxed person in the work circle, but at the same time equally tired everyday with no signs of his actual job paying him.

He actually likes it that one time you gave him some lunch. As a thanks for helping you everytime. And of course both of you got to exchange lunch boxes that you made for eachother.

lia/ every lesson i hope that the devs havent forgotten about the existence of the remaining side character barb before having the new students throw in hints im- w that forced romance scene im convinced that they're trying to tell us they haven't forgotten by squeezing in subpar "romance" because they're genuinely having difficulty handling all thesr characters and oh dear i have no idea what to expect from the main story now other than hoping it doesn't go down the drain.

I’ve already accepted that main story has completely gone down the drain for me and that if the reveal and resolution for Simeon’s problem is shit then I’m probably not touching main story until S5.

As much as I’ve come to enjoy the newbies (Meph and 13 mostly) I honestly still firmly believe that adding them now has only served to be a detriment to the storytelling. Which really really fucking sucks because the story was already dipping in quality with a sudden slope upwards towards being really interested at the end of S3 and the start of S4, only to serve us a 5-Lesson long pseudo-event with little to no romance and then whatever the fuck has been happening since then because I quit after that.

It’s also all sorts of tragic to me that even the romance now is so lacking. So you’re telling me that this otome where you don’t actually date anyone in main story has a lame main story AND lame romance?? With a popular side character that is now considered a valid LI still not having had a proper romantic scene in the main story? Don’t fucking tell me that kissing him counted because it doesn’t, it’s not romantic without feelings and his line about ‘understanding where they’re all coming from’ felt mocking at best imo, and empty considering how he took advantage of the tail thing to pry information out of MC.

Seriously have no idea what they plan to do with him. If they want a slow burn then they should’ve dropped actual hints and not whatever the fuck that forced stuff was. So uncool of them to do that to all the Barbatos stans, really.
