Has anyone mentioned that "Hanbada" and "taesan" were inspired by real life rival law firm "태평양(Tae-pyeong-yang, internationally known as bkl)" and "광장(gwang-jang, internationally known as lee and ko)"
Hanbada means big sea and is inspired by Tae-pyeong-yang which means pacific ocean. Taesan means big mountin and is inspired by gwang-jang which means square or plaze. It's Ocean v land. Oh, the writer consulted with Tae-pyeong-yang as writing the script.
In real life kore's no.1 law firm is kim and chang. It earns double or triple than 2nd biggest companies. All the korean companies try their best to hire Kim and chang when they are embroiled in a lawsuit. So sometimes it is Kim and chang that picks the client. Bkl, Lee and ko are fighting for the no.2 along with several other law firms.
*fyi speaking of han bada, han river means "big river". It is broader than River Thames or Rhine River. In ancient korean language, han meant "big". It has nothing to do with korea's official name in korean "대한민국(dae-han-min-guk)". The name "Dae han min guk" is from ancient kingdom Sam han.
