5′4 yes she’s kinda short

she’s got the make of a ravenclaw but really, she’s a hufflepuff

miss penny here is a wilson, meaning she was adopted!

she was put up for adoption when she was 3, adopted when she was 13.

she only very vaguely remembers her birth parents; like, it’s there, but it’s just so foggy because she was so young

all she knows is that her last name used to be scott

so basically, she was bounced around in foster care til she was 12, she ended up with the wilsons, and after a year she was adopted! we love to hear it!

however, as i’m sure we all know, this process takes a toll on the kid involved, but i will get more into that in the personality section

at this point, penny’s very much settled and happy with the wilsons, she’s getting comfortable with being more sociable, she’s excelling at school and her extracurricular activities, life’s good!

penny went on to go to cornell, got her bachelor’s in sociology and minored in human development, then got her master’s in development sociology

she loves kids and really wanted to work with them, and she always was stuck between social work and teaching, but our girl came back to crestview and settled on teaching

now she’s been a teacher up at the high school for 2 years! and now we’re all caught up woo

penny’s got some emotional baggage from the whole foster care situation, but really, she’s worked/coped with a lot of it since when it’s happened

loves stability, craves consistency in absolutely everything she does ever

that very much manifested into perfectionistic tendencies; she didn’t really have control of much in her life during these important growing stages, but the few things that she could control (like school performance) she did 100%, and if she was gonna control them they were gonna be perfect, period

(plus, she always figured if she was a perfect kid, maybe a family would really take initiative on adopting her)

so she’s a really hard worker, and she gets very invested into everything she does. when she’s set on something, she focuses on it and makes it happen because she knows it’s something she can control

struggles with anxiety around her success and achievement (also around what people think of her), but she used to not handle it as well when she was younger

she used to be really hesitant about making connections to folks because she never knew how long she was gonna be around, but once she found some stability, penny really became a social butterfly

however, she still tends to hold people at arm’s length until she’s 100% positive that there’s a sense of stability n trust there. basically like yeah she’s got a lot of friends, but she’s got a handful of people who are friend friends and know her beyond the perfect facade she likes to hold up

super family oriented!!! loves her family so much!! it’s why she had no problem changing her last name to wilson instead of keeping it as scott

and seeing as ana was her cousin, i’m sure penny knew her at least fairly well despite her being adopted later

very much an optimist, very hopeful, always tries looking at things positively

very patient with almost everybody but herself oops

loves being a teacher!! penny’s the type of teacher you respect, like her rules are pretty firm and she doesn’t water down the work at all, but she goes out of her way to give you everything you could possibly need to succeed, and she’s very attentive and willing to work with you with anything

penny loves kids!! so much!! you know how some people will drop everything when they see a puppy? that’s penny when she sees babies

also penny didn’t always regularly have nice things, but now that she’s able to.....i mean who doesn’t like to have a cute closet asjdhakj

1. do you make your bed? my mom has attempted to make me do this for years to no avail. i have no plans to start anytime soon. sorry mom :(

3. what’s your job? im in college lol. i babysit occasionally and this summer (cross ur fingers) im gonna be working at a day camp/day care type place

4. can you parallel park? no. not at all. i failed my drivers license test 2 times because of that. they passed me on the third try because they felt bad for me since i could do everything else but the lady made me promise that i would never do it in real life. 

5. a job you had which would surprise people? apart from working at a grocery store for 6 months (that was hell) the only jobs i have had have been babysitting

6. do you think aliens are real? i dont know. maybe? there’s other more important stuff i have to be thinking about rn

7. can you drive a manual car? nope

8. what’s your guilty pleasure? idk... everyone who knows me knows im fangirl trash.... bachelor/bachelorette maybe? the show is dumb but i watch it to make fun of people.

9. tattoos? no. if i ever did get one it would be to honor a family member or a matching one with one of my parents. It would have to be small tho and in a non-visible place.

11. things people do that drive you crazy? for some reason, it bothers me immensely when the person bagging groceries at the store offers to bring out your cart. i get it for older people and a mom with a bunch of kids, but for my perfectly able parents or myself? um WHY? also, just people who are bitchy and mean for no reason, not people who are having an off day, but people who are mean to only me for no reason. again, why?? 

12. any phobias? my absolute #1 worst fear is losing my parents. cant live without them. also i hate bugs and snakes with a passion. if i see one, i will scream bloody murder.

13. favorite childhood sport? the only sport i have ever been good at is tennis. i played for a county club in middle and part of high school. i also enjoy badminton and ping pong. im a racket sport kinda girl.

14. do you talk to yourself? all the time. im always having inner conversations with myself. unless im in the car by myself. in that case, i will talk to myself outloud. 

15. what movies do you adore? action movies with a decent ship. that’s my fav genre. i hate mushy movies and the only rom-com i enjoy is The Proposal (mostly cuz betty white oops)

16. do you like puzzles? as a little kid i did. i actually cant remember the last puzzle i did.

17. favorite kind of music? i listen to all genres. except metal. thats just noise. it just depends on the mood im in and if im fangirling. if i am, i tend to go for more upbeat, dance-type tracks

18. tea or coffee? im a hoe for a venti iced latte from starbucks. decaf, nonfat, 4 pumps hazelnut. BUT on occasion i enjoy a cup of sleepytime tea before bed.

2: i think more ppl with my sense of humor should watch Spider Riders bc listen..  if somewhere along the line that show suddenly gained more popularity again in this fine year of 2019 id be both actually funny for once but also revolutionary. by all technicalities some of my hcs are fucking great but i dont think i could say a lot of them and even be comprehensible outside of orientation based ones that are just rlly controversial. granted im not even sure i could or would actually recommend the show to people cause its kinda dumb a lot of the time and also fairly long at least to my standards so its harder to finish unless ur like really invested in it :pensive:

3: also on that note the next time a horny person even THINKS about Corona im Going to break into their home and then break their knees. i hate that she has so much fanart thats basically just fetish art or otherwise managing to be nsfw in some way shes like 15 at best fuck off!! its rlly only a problem on like. deviantart but it still makes me die inside.

4: character development is hard i never actually keep my ideas and what i have written down on like.  my actual bios for everyone on the same pace so its a confusing mess and i wish i was better at combating that

6: alex is the best sdv bachelor and im not accepting criticism on that notion. 2nd best would probably be like..  sam except i havent tried hard enough to be friends with him yet which i feel bad abt bc he seems nice

8: (goes BACK to thinking about SR shdfjds) the anime had no right having like so many characters base their ideals off of how brade used to be in the past and all those good takes on like not necessarily Having to resort to violence as the ultimate solution and all that good stuff just to be like, “surprise!! he actually IS still around! but also he’s going to be minimally helpful at all until the last few episodes and otherwise we’re going to make a ton of gags about him trying to hit on the like 2 girls in the team who are also like 15 while he ignores practically everyone else because thats funny!” im still so mad about it. he is the absolute worst and he has no rights. there was also so much potential they seemed like they could have used and were trying to hint at using in terms of further developing more important details about the history of the inner world or at least some of the things that had been going on well before hunter ever showed up and then they didn’t do anything but hint at the idea of brade having known hunter’s grandfather. but even that wasn’t 100% confirmed bc they dodged around it the one time they had hunter ask. its a mess.

9: my taste is so fucking weird and i hate it bc its mostly just, “oh yeah i heard abt this thing and it seems cool im hoping to start getting into it soon!” for most things that are actually cool or popular or all that and never actually get into it, but then i see smth dumb as shit that i know would probably make me look like an absolute fool for liking and im like, “oh yeah yknow what i can do this one” and then i do like it but i cant say much about it either cause i dont wanna look like.   a fool.

10: these have been depressing as fuck so im gonna lighten the mood and say that himbo is a fucking hilarious word and i love it

11: also axel (kh) is a himbo. why? he just is.

12: im also bad at character design i think bc i always worry that my characters look too similar in terms of hair style like all the time and idk if its rlly that bad or not jfhgkf.  that and like. so many of my characters just wear jeans and boots in terms of the lower half of their body its so unoriginal but it always works so well…

19: despite all the titles like ssbu and all that existing for the switch i think id only want one to play the new(er) inside system games i havent had the chance to yet like the spinoff card game and rudymical and also brave dungeon but w/neville and klinsy and whoever else was dlc on that game cause obviously i own the 3ds port but also neville..  good…  i wanna see how she plays..

20: i miss when i could be passionate abt cave story it just makes me feel tired seeing it sometimes at this point but it also still holds a great significance to me so its just confusing and im not sure how i feel abt it

21: the SR novels were cowards only on account of not giving us any official design for petra but also for writing igneous like.  That.  novelverse igneous is just too bitter in general and like i get it but they couldve done a lot more with him even though he is still somewhat respectable in the end, granted its hard cause like holy shit hes so fucking mean to hunter literally who asked for that. im just glad the anime let him be somewhat more idk..  i guess sociable while still keeping a lot of the inherently essential aspects his personality had like his almost over the top loyalty to the prince and taking things like training/combat in general very seriously. its just good and animeverse igneous is so good id die for him thanks for coming to my tedtalk

Hi! Any advice for someone whos going to college next year and is absolutely terrified about it? I have no clue what I want to do with my life, and ive lived in the same small town for all the 17 years ive been alive, and it feels like im being pushed in all different directions and im terrified of making the wrong choice and adafhdbjkkjll yea, you probably get it lol This just feels like such a big thing and my anxiety enjoys to scream at me about it

i can relate. if you dont know what you want to do yet a bachelor of arts or social science are pretty versatile degrees that cover a lot of areas so u could do a bit of anything.  im currently doing open foundation at uni because i didnt get the marks to get into any course. 

and collage isnt that scary trust me. i still live at home but i know plenty of people who live on campus and the love it. theres no petty high school drama, everyone is pretty chill and u can wear pyjamas to ur 8am lectures when u cant be bothered getting dressed in the morning.

the only scary part is all the work and study is self directed so u cant expect your lecturers to remind u to read next weeks texts etc. there should be study groups you can join around campus tho, jump on the universities website and have a look! look for facebook discussion pages created by students etc.

also dont let anyone else tell u what course to study! youre an adult now and you can do what ever you want. teacher? engineer? nurse? social worker? lawyer? freelance artist? scholar? journalist? the possibilities are endless and dont feel pressured to jump right in. take a gap year and work part time if you want! 

if anyone wants tips for uni let me know! im more experienced with australian uni life but ill give any question a go! (im really good at finding places to nap) - hayli

Hiya! I can imagine the anxiety that goes with making choices for college/ uni. It feels like a Big Thing bc we think our choice is going to decide what we're gonna do for the rest of our lives, and so we're scared to make the wrong one.

But it's not, really. I know some people who chose to study something and then switched the next year bc they didn't really like it, and that's okay. For choosing what to study, i'd advice to pick the one you're most interested in at the moment, bc then you have the most motivation to actually study it.

It's possible to think long term, like choosing law bc you know it'll pay great later. But if the subject doesn't interest you, you probably won't get ver far. Besides, if you have difficulty with motivation bc of this subject at uni, it probably won't be fun either as a job.

i also think it's important to remember that even after you're done with your studies, you're not bound to this decision forever. I once had a biology teacher who used to have an office job, but grew tired of it at some point. So he decided to go back to uni and study what he was most passionate about: lions. He got a degree in biology and then did lion research in Africa for a couple years. After that he taught us biology in high school with a freakload of enthusiasm. That dude was an icon.

So i think it'd be good to study a field that interests you most at the moment, and it's absolutely okay if your interests change later. I mean, we're gonna live like at least 55 more years, so imagine all the new ideas we're going to meet, all the opportunities we're going to get! There is no possibility that one (1) uni decision is gonna determine what we're going to do for the rest of our lives :p You'll be okay, love- Vallie

uhhhhhhhhhhhhh 3? long fics??????? i believe????? and 13 prompts. i only write one fic at a time (idk how ppl can split their focus between multiple wips jfc) but that’s everything i’m currently intending to write askdjfh

3) Do you prefer paper books or ebooks?

ok listen. liSTEN. i understand. paperbacks are pretty and smell like Real Books~ blah blah blah that’s lovely but let me tell you something, last summer i borrowed a paperback from my friend after having a kindle since 2013 and it was the worst experience of my life. i read in two places: beside a pool on holidays and in bed (also in school when i’m like, actually teaching a novel but u know). so in bed with this stupid book here’s what happened: my lil torch that i normally clip onto my kindle cover kept slipping off the pages, i got a cramp in my hand from the way i had to hold the book and the pages were so loUD when i turned them. it was awful. i’m sorry but you can pry my kindle from my cold dead hands (i will say paperbacks are better to teach with though)

4) When did you start writing?

well when i was a child i used to make my own books (hand drawn illustrations and everything y’all) so i was really into that from the ages of about 8-11? then i kind of stopped for my teenage years but got back into it again when i was 17 and i’ve been writing ever since!!

5) Do you have someone you trust that you share your work with?

i mean, i guess i trust the internet with my work which is a pretty big deal asdlkfjsd normally my fandom friends will be subjected to me annoying them for my entire fic writing experience until the thing is finally posted (sorry, friends. ur the real mvps <33)

6) Where is your favorite place to write?

in my armchair in my living room!!

7) Favorite childhood book?

oh my god i can’t remember what i used to read as a child???????? i loved reading though. do you know, when i first had to get glasses they found out i had no focus in my eyes and they tested my reading age bc usually if a kid has no focus in their eyes they’d be quite a poor reader (which would give away that there was an issue) but i was actually reading like, 3 years above my age range asdjkhf so yeah, i really loved reading :’) i remember i read all the Judy Moody books and most of Jacqueline Wilson’s too!!

8) Writing for fun or publication?

of course i write for fun. i couldn’t put as much time and effort into as i do if i didn’t. but god, yeah. the prospect of perhaps one day publishing something is always a secret dream of mine :’))) idk if it’ll ever happen but we’ll see!

9) Pen and paper or computer?

Computer oh my gOD. i had to hand write something for college today bc i didn’t have my laptop with me and it was horrible jfc

10) Have you ever taken any writing classes?

nope! i mean, i have a bachelors degree in english akjdfa but there were no creative writing modules available with that (which i was very sad about) so while i imagine that’s definitely helped, everything’s come from me. and tbh i think that’s why writing is so special to me?????? i’m not very naturally good at anything (except maybe school bc i have a good memory) everything i’ve ever done i have to try really, really hard at and even then i might only be mediocre at best. but writing. it’s like the one thing that’s mine? it’s the one thing i taught myself and can actually feel proud of most of the time???? yeah, idk :’)

11) What inspires you to write?

hmm songs inspire me a lot!! like, sometimes a song will make me feel a certain way and then i’ll try to write that feeling??? but in general when it comes to fanfiction, i think it’s just a need to fill in the blanks, to add more to the universe, thinking about “well what if this happened instead?” or “what if they were in this universe?” there’s so much you can do with the characters beyond what happens with them on screen and yeah, i really like getting to explore that :’)

Why won't my insurance company let me transfer our No Claims Discount to a different car/policy?

We have been insuring our Audi with the Co-op, who I've generally found to be reasonable. However, now we have a problem. A couple of months ago we bought a van with the intention of replacing the Audi with the van. But the van needed some work doing on it, so we took out a second insurance on the van with the Co-op, so we could still drive the Audi. At the time, I was disappointed to be told that we could not have a No Claims Bonus on the van, as they said it could only be applied to one policy at a time. But they gave the clear impression that when we cancel the Audi insurance, we could then transfer the NCB to the van. The Audi has now broken down, so we want to cancel its insurance. However, yesterday when I called them, they now said they cannot transfer the NCB to the van as it would be being transferred 'mid-season' to a different car policy. They said they could only have applied it to the van if we had changed the original Audi's policy to cover the van, instead of taking out a different insurance policy for the van. This seems ridiculous. Surely, we are entitled to our NCB?! Why should it matter that it is mid-season or not? I explained that if I cancelled our insurances with them and went to another company, I would be given a NCB on the van so why won't they give it to me. They agreed! I really don't want to change, as I don't trust other companies and the Co-op seem more ethical than others. But this seems so stupid. To get round this silly rule without changing company, I'm thinking of cancelling the van insurance and changing the Audi insurance to the van, ie. do what they said I should have done in the beginning. So, I am 18, and yesterday my cousin was planned to come in from the UK at the Sky Harbor Airport in, Arizona. On my way there I was driving at a close speed limit of 50, speed limit was 45, approaching a red light, I was slowing down, when something abruptly ran across the road, close to the car, causing me to slam on the breaks, losing control of the wheel, and I tumbled 4 times over the street, busting the side window, scraping some paint, and cracking the windshield. Thankfully, I was not hurt, no neck, back, leg, or any body injuries for that matter. The police was near by, so helped me out, firefighters took care of me, to make sure I was okay. And then the report happened. I told them the honest truth, they said that I won't be arrested, or given a ticket, but I do have to go to court to prove I had no insurance. I don't know what to do, I know it was completely idiotic driving without a license, and no permit, with no insurance, but my friend has insurance on the car. I have the police report, and I don't know what I have to do, but I will help him with anything as this is my best friend, and I am not straying away from this situation. I'm 27 w a bachelors. in school I was taught paper/pencil math before I could use a calc. I know its a bit dif but I worked at target. Most customers pay with card which needs 0 thinking and makes it v routine. Then suddenly some1 is giving u cash and ur not mentally prepared. U know it should make sense but it just doesnt click and ur left looking like an idiot, esp if you've been on shift hrs. Ur examples do sound extreme but sometimes it's not bc ur cashier isn't capable/doesn't understand.

Very good points!  First off, I am glad to hear you did learn paper/pencil math before the calculator.  My son is 17, so I don’t know at what time frame this newer practice came into effect.  I struggled with common core as a parent before that was phased out as well.

I had not considered those scenarios you mentioned.  And I think it is probably true in a lot of cases.  Everyone has moments where you blank and you are tired and not thinking the best.  So I am sure that happens.

But statistically, I don’t think they are all such cases.  And, like I mentioned, I’m seeing this in a lot of the younger people (and by younger I mean teenagers in this case).

I hope what you discussed is more the norm, rather than my scenarios.
