OC Brain Rot Introductions

After making the first post with Thea and Abby, I realized that I didn't have an intro post introducing the character or to formally address what these kind of posts are going to be about (aside what I put in Thea and Abby's first post)

OC Brain Rot (based on this post here originally) are posts where I ramble off about my OCs and what they're up to currently outside of my writings and arts. In essence, these are brain dump posts. Sometimes they might be a couple of sentences and half-formed ideas, others might go into meta involving my ocs and whichever game they are a part of. Sometimes it might also include simple screaming, you just never know.

Brain rots will also NOT be spoiler-free! I'll usually note at the top of each post if there are going to be spoilers. Content and trigger warnings will also be noted in the beginning and in the tags where applicable.

OC Brain Rot is also open to questions towards and about the OCs themselves. They might even answer your questions themselves!

I've decided that, instead of having a separate tumblr blog (since I have like four of them at this current moment in time), I'll just make little posts about the ocs on main since I'm not especially active here as I'd like to be outside of queued posts and I have answered some questions in my OC's voices on this blog before (like this one from Houki giving her opinion on IkeSen's Masamune) and would like to get back into doing something like that.

Brain rots are also mostly going to involve my otome/dating sim OCs, but everyone is also welcome to ask about my original ocs and, if you're really curious, about older ocs that I've made for other fandoms outside of the otome/dating sim ones.

Below the cut, I've also put short intros for each of my ocs as quick reference for future brain rot posts. Longer, more detailed profiles will be made at a later date, but these will serve as little reminders for where this oc is coming from when I make future oc brain rot posts.

Houki of Jiyel, "Houki"

Preferred Pronouns: She/Her

Game: Ikemen Sengoku

Suitor: Mitsunari Ishida

Age: Early 20s

Physical Description: Short stature and chubby, large, bright green eyes, long straight black hair (that looks blue in certain lights), light to medium skin, wears round glasses

Personality: Quiet, Introverted, Observant

Brief History: A transplant MC from a different game, Houki was a noble lady sent on a diplomatic mission to strengthen ties between her home nation and six other kingdoms, mainly through the means of political marriage and alliances. Her plans were interrupted when she arrived in Sengoku era Japan and is now trying to find a way back to her home world to complete her original goal.

Misc. Fact: She loves reading more than anything in the world. It is her favorite pastime and is more often than not found reading some tome at almost any point in the day.

Ophelia of Revaire, "Ophelia"

Preferred Pronouns: She/Her

Game: Ikemen Sengoku

Suitor: Kennyo

Age: Late 20s

Physical Description: Pale skin and hair (chin length and straight, parted to her right, our left), medium height, thin and willowy, dark red eyes, chin mole towards the right side (our left) of her face

Personality: Calculating, calm, refined

Brief History: Another transplant MC from a different game (same game as Houki), she was on the same diplomatic mission as Houki, but for different reasons. Born into a poor noble family, Ophelia has spent most of her life trying to bring up her family's position, was even briefly married for the cause, but thanks to her previous husband's passing, she's needing to social climb again to keep her family afloat, thus joining in her country's call for this diplomatic mission, hoping to marry rich. Being transported to Sengoku era Japan was not on her agenda and she's definitely not happy about this new life turn.

Misc. Fact: She has eight younger siblings, six sisters and two brothers.

Dorothea "Thea" Reid

Game: Ikemen Vampire

Suitor: Theodorus van Gogh, Arthur Conan Doyle

Age: Early 20s

Physical Description: Fair skin with lots of freckles, esp on her face and shoulders, long reddish-brown hair that she keeps in a braid most of the time, large blue eyes, medium-tall-ish height (just shy of Theo's eye level)

Personality: Friendly, outgoing, stubborn

Brief History: A lover of history and fashion, Thea had combined her love of both and had just finished her degree to be a fashion historian, and thought to reward herself after finishing college by taking a trip to Paris! Who knew a trip to the Louvre would start her biggest adventure yet?

Misc. Fact: Always wearing something either historical or historically inspired, like long skirts and embroidered blouses.

Abigail "Abby" Clarke

Age: Early 20s

Physical Description: Short-medium height, blonde bob/short hair that she grows longer to shoulder length as she ages, warm brown eyes, fair skin

Personality: Quiet, meek, curious

Brief History: Escaping from a bad situation, Abby finds herself in Paris, admiring the art and history that the city has to offer. Running into a mysterious gentleman that helps her escape some hooligans, she accidentally follows him through his magical time door and ends up in the 19th century! What's a girl to do now?

Misc. Fact: Her favorite hobbies are drawing and photography, though she wasn't really able to explore them as she liked in her previous life. She thrives under the tutelage of history's greats in Comte's mansion.

Madeline "Maddie" Fleming

Preferred Pronouns: She/Her

Game: Ikemen Revolution

Age: 30

Physical Description: Short and curvy, greenish grey short hair that's wavy, wine red eyes, light medium skin, ears pierced (once in each lobe, and two at the top of each ear, making a total of six piercings)

Personality: Outgoing, caring, fun

Brief History: Visiting her grandparents in London, Maddie had found herself in James Park, meeting with a nice, if absent-minded gentleman. She had tried to return his lost pocket watch to him, but she accidentally follows him back to Cradle, starting her journey to unlocking powers she previously didn't know she had and to bringing peace between the two warring armies fighting over the magical wonderland she had found herself in.

Misc. Fact: Her power manifests itself mostly in non-living items. When she was younger, she made fake flowers to give to people she knew, singing to them as she worked. Her flowers would then take on characteristics she was singing about (a la Sophie from Howl's Moving Castle book version). Her flowers could make you have more luck on a test or even give you the confidence to confess to your crush! But be careful if you piss her off as her negative vibes can transfer to her targeted item and turn it cursed!

Clara Laurent

Physical Description: Medium skin tone, wavy dark brown hair usually kept in a low bun, short to medium height, pink eyes

Personality: Serious, stubborn, kind

Brief History: A ward of Mr. Akatsuki, she was taken in by bookstore owner at a young age, growing up around books and a love of learning. During a festival, she met with a few of Rhodolite's princes, their interactions watched by Sariel, the prime minister, looking for candidates to be the next Belle, a person with a pure heart that chooses the next king of their country. She is chosen for this role, using her best judgement to make the right choice for her tiny kingdom, especially with the loom threat of war on their heels.

Misc. Fact: Her favorite book series is the Midnight Cinderella saga, telling the varying adventures of a commoner chosen to rule over the fictious kingdom of Wysteria. Her favorite in the series is Byron.

Miriam "Miri"

Preferred Pronouns: She/Her, They/Them

Age: Early 20s in season 1, close to late-20s by season 4/nightbringer's timeline

Physical Description: Medium-dark skin tone, pink curly hair that gets to its longest by season 4 (which is mid back), purple to pink gradient eyes, short stature, her pact marks glow when she's actively using her pact bonds. Pact mark locations include: Chest over her heart (Lucifer), behind her right ear (Mammon), Left knee (Leviathan), Right forearm (Satan), Lower back (Asmo), Stomach above the navel (Beel), Neck right on her windpipe (Belphie). Post Season 2, she has Lucifer's Ring of Light on her left hand ring finger. Season 3 and beyond, she has her Sorcerer's Society Tattoo on the back of her right hand, along with a ring on her middle finger that signifies she's a sorcerer and a member of the Sorcerer's Society, given to her by Solomon.

Personality: Curious, kind, stubborn

Brief History: Arriving in Devildom as a little pink sheep, Miri works to find a way to turn herself back into a human, which leads her to being made an exchange student at RAD, a school-like organization run by the devildom prince Diavolo, who hopes to bring the three realms together into peaceful relations. While staying in devildom, she is taken in by a group of powerful demon brothers, former angels from the Celestial Realm fallen from grace. In order to turn herself back into a human, she needs their power and she makes pacts with each to gain their help and support. As her bonds grow stronger with the brothers, so too does her own power, coming to a realization that she is a sorcerer in later seasons, learning to control her powers and to use her powers for good and to help Diavolo's cause to bring the three realms to peace.

Misc. Fact: She loves sweets and hates spicy things. She has a healthy fear of Mammon's extra spicy ramen and refuses it every time it's offered to her. Even regular ramen makes her suspicious after having sampled Mammon's favorite once.

Name: Clara Esther

Age: 20

Pronouns: she/her

Role: Wildlife Educator

Personality: A Lot. Clara hits a concocted balance of high-strung anxiety, anger issues, adhd, and insatiable need to take care of other people. This ends with her coming off as overbearing more often than not, but she truly does mean well. Has a bad habit of apologizing for everything that ever happens and speaks the fluent love language of 'making people food as often as possible'.

Background/About: Clara's been coming to this camp for the past 8 years, going from camper to staff in the past 2. Having made some of her first real friends here, she's adamant about wanting other kids to do the same.

Likes: Animals! Dogs especially, but growing up on a farm gives her experience across the board of domesticated animals, and growing up on a farm surround by miles of forest cover's the local wildlife. Kids and working with them, especially the 11-15 range, she thinks they tend to be the most misunderstood. Garlic bread, hiking, cooking, the general smell of a campfire, sunrises, running, the early morning combination of the two. Shitty (or unshitty) horror novels, and movies.

Dislikes: not being taken seriously because of her emotions, most team sports, timed activities (deadlines scary), trying to draw (keyword, trying), anyone who hunts for sport.

Other info: will cry at the drop of a hat, don't take it too personally. She will also project onto nearly all relationships she has with other people, making them more important than they actually are. You've spoken amicably twice? You're friends now. My condolences. Also worth noting she started waaaaaay back in 2015 as a Clarice Starling parody I made as a joke-foil to the like 4 separate cannibal oncelers, she just kinda took off on her own after that.

Role: camper

Personality: easy-going, perceptive, charismatic. Dancing through life without too much thought of the misery of others. Hopes there is horseback riding at camp.

Abilities: somnokinesis (the ability to induce sleep in others)

About: The adopted son of the wealthy Bianca and Penelope Birch, Simon grew up in the most pampered of circumstances. Discovery of his ability came early, as childish tantrums would result in his nannies falling to the floor unconscious— and not from the exhaustion of taking care of such a high maintenance boy.

Simon is well aware of and even able to control this power now, though not very well due to the lack of anyone being able teach him. While Bianca and Penelope are aware of their son's gift, they have encouraged him to keep it hidden. The world is a place where people will take something special and exploit it for their own ulterior motives.

But what his mothers don't know about who the preteen shows his powers off to won't hurt them. Yet.

A bunch of characterisation notes changed between Pathologic Classic and its sequel. Best character change between the games? Also *worst* character change between the games (but you only get to pick The Worst one)? And this is asking about your personal tastes, I don't want object, detached answers :p

best: Completely overhauling Var. Var in Classic is just. so awkward as a 'creepy hunchback' character, and the WORST to be around. spent my whole playthrough as Artemy selling as few organs to him as possible. Var in Pathologic 2? The hottest guy in town. Eye scarring! Mysterious origins! A refreshing lack of being a creep about an adopted daughter! he has it all. A+ character change

worst: there's some. steep competition for me, but I'm gonna say making Artemy a reluctant outsider who's not jazzed about tradition and his role instead of a guy who loved his town and people and was so eager for his role in his community that he walked back to town over the goddamn steppe because the train was late, after only spending ten years away because his father ordered him to. It's a major component of my dislike of Patho 2 (compared to how much I love Classic).

Artemy in Classic is so defined by his determination to assume the role of the Haruspex, and for me that's refreshing because I've waaay more commonly seen the character of 'ugh i don't really want to assume duties and responsibility, tradition is a bit cringe'... and that's the exact character type they change him to in Patho 2, slijsijfdf. Give me grumpy traditional Artemy who shames guardsmen for not remembering how to properly act as a member of the Kin and will chug poison if an elder tells him it's necessary for a ritual, despite his issues with authority.

#like he's so smart and sooo stupid at the same time... and so arrogant in the best way #'you can address me as 'Warden' or 'Haruspex'.' five minutes after he got back to town!#not to be nuanced but I get that the character change was bc he's now the Intro Character #and i wonder if they made him that bc they were worried the Bachelor couldn't hold his own alone for years #until they made part 2 #but consider: making Artemy a semi-outsider who interacts with parts of the town he never worried about in Classic #utterly ruins his character. is DANIIL going to be our devoted town insider? CLARA???#...actually im now wondering if that's why daniil is way more pro-Kin in that version #he and artemy swapping character traits/views #pathologic tag

two or more months. not an excessive amount of time but she's settled

what is your character’s job

she teaches high school english

where has your character been pulled from in their fandom

probably the end honestly. she ran off to do her own little adventure. all this means is that she is effectively immortal to an extent. her heart straight up does not beat, and her death is a fixed point in time. i'll say dying here is still find since she comes back so it's fine, it just means she's way too reckless

has any magic affected your character

i have written several doctor who characters at this point, but never clara so please be patient with me as i find her voice

i support womens' rights, but more important i support their wrongs, and man do i have a lot of love for clara but she's a mess

saw a post saying if donna is the doctor's best friend who mirrors his best traits, clara is his best friend who mirrors his worst.

which, yeah, is probably true i'm afraid

she's still a good person! she's smart, and compassionate, quick-witted, brave, all that good stuff

but she's also reckless, an absolute control freak, probably has a bit of a god complex, and has become a little numb to things that should freak her out

she's trying to be better at it, but being suspended between life and death is not the best way to work that out

listen i love her and the twelfth doctor so much, their interactions have such a nice place in my heart. i do think they got a little too codependent there at the end!! love them dearly, wish they could have traveled together forever, would that have been good for them?? perhaps not.

i would say she's doing better now that she's here on her own though the doctor is also here so we'll see how that goes

cares a lot about her classes and her kids and really wants to be good at living a normal life, at feeling in control of herself like she can relax and settle down even though she's really bad at it

she's still a good teacher though, happy to stand up for what's right, all that stuff

right now is enjoying washington and all it's oddities, but will start getting a little stir crazy

plot ideas:

anyone she knows from work like coworkers, or just fellow teachers in general even if they teach a different age range than her

casual dates, maybe a long term ship. clara is bi, regularly flirty, and will happily try out dates with just about anyone

bad influence: she can definitely be reckless if it feels like there's te chance for a fun adventure, and though she tries hard to still be kind i think someone who brings out the slightly more callous side of her would be interesting

on the other end of that spectrum some chill friends who she just likes to hang out with, maybe bake, do a bit of a book club, nice things like that. someone hang out and try new recipes with her. she's not actually a great cook but she keeps trying anyway

just someone to explore odd shops, empty buildings, literally whatever with her. she's always very curious and looking for something interesting to keep her occupied.

maybe a roommate. she's the type who's always running in an out but still

Seven Nights at Roseblood Hall

(working title so yeah)

The story is about seven chapters (hopefully) and it centers around Clara, a newly born vampire who is investigating what she believes to be a murder. She is one of a bunch of new vampires (young vampires) who are being held within Roseblood Hall, and she suspects her peers as being behind the murder. This is in part to each of their suspicious tendencies.

Dramatis Personae:

Clara. Protagonist. 17 years old at age of death. She has a high opinion of herself and her own skills. Circumstances of her death and life before death are not adding up. Certainly she is hiding something. When she was alive, she had a younger sister.

Max Karnstein. She is level headed yet has a sadistic streak about a mile wide. She exclusively wears Lolita fashion - preferably the Gothic kind. Max has a lot to lose with the death that occurred, yet she is not interested in looking for the murderer. 15 years old at age of death.

Anton Ruthven. A bully. He dislikes Clara, and he really dislikes all this talk about the death of that one person. To him, it is important to be as unattached as possible. He acts like nothing touches him. 19 at age of death.

Trysa Varney. There are three Varneys, and Trysa is the "leader" in a sense. She looks after the other two. She is very much a follower of tradition and rule. Clara bears a grudge against her. 26 at age of death.

Dorina Varney. Little Dory is the youngest of the Varneys. She died at the age of 5 and she acts like it, even now. She looks up to Tripp.

Tripp Varney. Trysa's found family and brother. He does his own thing, and doesn't care at all for rules or tradition. Tripp is the only one of the cast that doesn't dress like a stereotypical vampire. He died at 24 years old.

Ferdie Bathory. The last of the Roseblood Hall inhabitants. Ferdie is disliked and distrusted by the others for his very odd and kind of human-like behaviour. The others, especially Anton, expect Ferdie to be more brutal than he is. He gets along well with Max.
