Faber going on ttv for that interview to clear up the 14B2020 thing and mid stream dropping that he was an nft bro was like that trope when in a season finale where one of the protags has a whole arc where they don’t trust a character and this is the episode where it looks like they finally bond until at the end when everyones guard is down, he casually drops a dramatic revelation that he actually was a bad guy in a totally more fucked up way than they imagined before like its no big deal.

Yeah so uh... Even if my followers are already sick of the Bionicle spam I’ve been posting, this is still a significant thing. This is a content creator getting so hyped for a story that he’s paid to do, that he turns it into a personal project after keeping in touch with the hopes and dreams of the fandom for twenty freaking years, and making it with his own company and his own funds. Proof that the things you love as a kid are still valid as an adult, proof that artists listen to the people they influence...and proof that if you’re truly passionate about something it’s not actually ever gone. And I for one welcome our new Bonkle overlords.

Unfortunate that we couldn’t get too much on 14b2020, but what we did get: -It’s not April Fools -It is Bionicle -It’s a “completely new model” (Faber was saying that instead of the consumer being given a package they’re being given a “ticket”, which sounds really exciting) -Faber declared that his next update on the project will be a simple thumbs up or thumbs down -“That damn corona, ruining everything!!”

Honestly I’m still psyched. Here’s hoping we get a thumbs up, and that the wait won’t be too long!

After seeing Christian Faber's Instagram post with a Toa Canister in a snowy region with a volcano, I started wondering about how cool Wahi (Bionicle regions) would be if they had much more diversity in them! Eg:

Mangrove or Kelp forest Ga-Koro, not just coral reef or lilypad pond

Limestone cave and river system Onu-Koro

Volcanic orchard or hot springs Ta-koro

Rainbow canyon system Po-koro with the houses built into the walls

Le-Koro being on plateaus and mesas with jungle on them, or having Socotra-style vegetation

Ko-koro being a floating city of icebergs with the nearby volcano as a power source of sorts

like hes just a completely ordinary and slightly awkward middle aged danish guy who also just happened to have created the most influential media of my and thousands of other people’s childhoods.

So with the corona virus affecting 14b2020 I started thinking of connecting that back into Bionicle’s origin, how the Toa in canisters represent medicine to fight the virus affecting Mata Nui; if we take that same approach from this starting point, what might we get?

I thought of the uncomfortably long cotton swab used to test for corona, and that got me somewhere. An idea of a ship travelling through space, using long drills to bore deep into planets and form an instant elevator for the crew to go down and test the planet for traces of something.  If the planet was safe, they could move on, but if it was infected, a long-term mission would begin to heal the world if at all possible.

Kind of like the concept, but I’ve already got too much on my plate to do anything with it right now. Food for thought I guess.
