new ASAU fic update schedule!!!

hello all, Confidential will be returning on tuesday (YAY!!), but since we've started posting Faction, we're loath to just drop it, SO we've come up with a plan.

this week, we'll do a double update! Faction on sunday (sept 18) and Con on tuesday (sept 20). but to give us a bit more time to write Con, we will go from weekly updates to every-other-week. however, you'll still be getting something updating every week, so when it's not Con, it'll be Faction. Faction will be on sundays and Con will be on tuesdays. sooo...

Y/N'S POV I'm sitting in Central Park in New York after so many failed attempts to get someone to tell me where my mom could be. My mom is an Avenger and apperantly the Avengers are pretty famous, so why nobody knows where's Wanda Maximoff?

It's been 4 years since the last time I saw her… or I think. I was taken by hydra when the agents attacked the Avengers compound. They kept me in a cell, but then something happened and in 5 seconds the place was all clear. No one was around. So I ran…

I wish I could see her again, but anyone I ask doesn't know anything about her. I just need to find out what happened to her.

It's been 3 days since I got out of that terrible place. I always like to walk around this weird house with something on the roof that looks like a big eye. I don't know why, but I can feel some sort of power from this house.

I managed to find out that a man called 'Doctor Strange' lives there. According to one older lady, he has some sort of powers too. I want to ask him if he by any chance knows anything about my mom, but everytime I knock at the door, no one opens. But I can't give up, I have to try again.

I knock at the door, praying someone will finally open. I let out a sigh after a few minutes of standing there. I sit on the stairs in front of the house, resting my head on my knees.

My eyes widen when I hear the door creak. I immediately stand up, turning around and looking at a tall man with a cup in his hand and a clock who stands there, looking back at me.

"H-hello, don't you know by any chance where-" I start, but he cuts me off.

"Listen, kid, this is not a place to play. Go home" He says coldly, already closing the door.

"Wait! Do you know Wanda Maximoff?" I blurt out, the door opening again.

"Wanda Maximoff? Why would you look for her?" He raises an eyebrows.

"I-I need to talk to her. She. Hm. She's my mom" I explain, but only earn a look that tells me he doesn't believe me at all.

"Okay. I understand you're probably a fan, but go home, kid. It's getting late" He says, rolling his eyes and closing the door again. I've never wanted to do this, to use my powers on other people, but he gives me no other choice. He clearly knows something about my mom and I just need to know.

I close my eyes, concentrating only on the power I feel from this house. I take a deep breath, trying to get into the guy's mind. It takes a while, but once I'm in, I carefully search for any information about my mom.

Finally, I find out that the man is heading to some place called Kamar-Taj where my mom is supposed to be too. This will be hard to get there, but I'm a witch after all.

Took me more than a whole night to actually find my way to Kamar-Taj, but I did it. Now I'm hidden behind one of many statues that are around this place. There's a huge castle and people in pajamas looking outfits. I mean… it's literally almost 1pm, why would they wear pajamas? Whatever, now I just need to wait until my mom shows up.

Suddenly the sky darkens, all the people watch the sky, waiting for what happens next. My mom appears, the guy from yesterday flies up to her and they start talking. I'm just watching it, wondering what they could possibly talk about, but then Doctor Strange flies back and the pajamas people make a shield. I don't get it, is my mom the bad one now? She's always been very caring, she wouldn't be evil, right?

I watch in confusion as my mom tries to break the shield, throwing her magic at it until it breaks. She flies down on the ground, knocking everyone down. Tears form in my eyes, this can't be true, my mom can't be evil.

She starts walking towards the castle and since no one is outside except for the dead bodies, her and me, I get out of my hiding spot.

"Mama?" I say shyly, tears quietly running down my cheeks. Mom turns around, her face impression turning into a shocked one when she sees me.

"… Y/N/N?" She whispers, walking towards me, tears building up in her eyes.

"No" I take a step back, unsure of her next actions. She stops, tears running down her cheeks too by now as she's looking at me, hurt visible in her eyes. "Mama, why would you do that? You're not evil, you can't be" I tell her, my voice breaking at the sight of all the dead bodies surrounding us.

"Y/N/N, I… I just wanted you back" She says, her voice also breaking. "Please, sweetheart. I-I'm sorry, I missed you so much" She takes another step towards me on which I shake my head, tears still running down my face.

"No, please don't hurt me" I step back, shaking my head. "I want my mama" I cry out, my breathing not really working right now.

With a swift move of her hand, her clothes change into jeans and green jacket, her hair is put into one french braid and her fingers don't have the black color on them.

"I'm here, Y/N/N. You need to breathe, sweetheart. Breathe with me, honey" She holds my shoulders, looking me in the eyes and trying to help me to breathe.

"Mama" I wrap my arms around her, burying my head into her chest.

"Mama's here, my little monkey. You're safe. You're okay" She says, rubbing my back and kissing the top of my head. "You're okay" She repeats. "Where have you been, baby?" She asks when I finally manage to take a deep breath, wiping away my tears with her thumbs.

"Hydra" I manage to say, wrapping my arms around her tightly once again. "Please don't ever leave me, mommy"

"I will never ever leave you, my little monkey. I promise I'll always protect you, no matter what" She smiles and kisses my forehead. "I will never let anyone take you from me again"

"Mama, I don't like it here. Can we go away?" I ask, not feeling comfortable at all here. I just want to cuddle with my mom on the couch and watch a cartoon.

"Let's go home" She smiles and presses a kiss to my forehead before taking my hand in hers and leading me away from this place.

since there’s already so much information floating around & we’ll probably get new info regularly, I’ve decided to create this post which collects all information available for the presale for Taylor’s German dates (Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg & Munich). I will pin this post to my blog and update it regularly! also, if you find information that is not on this list yet, please send it to me so I can update this post!

INFORMATION FOR ALL PRESALES OF THE GERMANY SHOWS

FYI: When in doubt, check out the FAQ page of eventim for the Germany shows!

+ I don’t know enough about the other European shows to be able to give you 100% right answers (keep that in mind if you send me an ask about those shows 😊)

UPDATED: July 11th, 7pm CET (latest two updates are marked through cursive font)

REGISTRATION for the pre-sale is only possible until June 23rd at 10am Central European Time (CET) (note: the website also names 23:59 as the time when registration ends. I don’t know which time is the right one, so I’d advise you to register before 10am). To register, click here or follow the link on Taylor’s homepage. Important information regarding registration:

Make sure to register with the same email address you use for your eventim account. They‘ve stated that they will check all e-mail addresses to make sure bots don’t get access, and they do so through checking if the email address refers to a valid eventim account. If you haven’t gotten an account under the email address yet, you should be safe as long as you create an account for it until registration ends (Friday, June 23rd).

Registration does NOT guarantee you will receive a code. They will randomize who will get a code, and the rest of the people who signed up will be put on a wait list.

it does NOT matter when you’ve registered, as long as it is before the deadline ends. like I’ve said, it’s randomized.

you should receive an email from eventim. in it, you have to confirm your registration. however, it might take a while for you to receive the email (e.g. on the first day of registration some people had to wait quite a while to receive the email, as the servers were overloaded).

YOU HAVE TO REGISTER FOR PRESALE TO BE ABLE TO BUY TICKETS! one of the venues tweeted that you’ll only get to buy tickets if you’re registered for pre-sale (x). (don’t know if that means there won’t be a general sale for now)

you have to register separately for each show you want to have access to. If you for example aim for Hamburg and Gelsenkirchen, you cannot make a joint registration for them. click on “register now!” for the dates you’re interested in (see screenshot below)

you cannot register for the additional shows that were announced for Germany. The registration you’ve done before suffices. Via the company organising it: The code you’ll get for a city is valid for all the shows in one city. aka: you can pick the date you want to get tickets for, for example if you’ve gotten a code for Munich you can choose between the two dates.

eventim said that whether ticketholders of Lover Fest Berlin tickets will get a separate presale is up to the concert company organizing the concert, therefore they don’t have any information on it. I personally don’t think there will be a presale for Lover Fest Berlin ticket holders.

The PRESALE for the German shows will take place on July 12th. Important information regarding the presale:

please note that the presale for some of the European shows takes place on July 11th or other dates. however, July 12th applies to all shows in Germany.

The times when the presale starts are now different! The Gelsenkirchen presale starts at 9am, the Hamburg presale at 11am and the presale for the Munich shows at 1pm CET.

If you were chosen (per the email on July 5th), you will receive your code via email until July 11th, 5pm CET at the latest.

it is very likely you’ll be sent to the waiting room. eventim says this about the waiting room: When completing your ticket purchase, stay within one browser window. Opening multiple windows or tabs to purchase tickets may result in errors.

tickets are limited to four per customer per unique code. this means: if you receive a code for, for example, Hamburg, you can pick a date and purchase up to four tickets for that date. If you purchase four tickets for that one date, you cannot use that code anymore. If you, however, only purchase two tickets, you can purchase two tickets for the second show as well with that code (see eventim’s reply).

UPDATE: please note that each code only refers to a specific venue. once you’ve gotten through the queue on presale day, you can only buy tickets for that one venue, but you can choose which date you’d like to try for. If you receive codes for several venues, you have to finish purchasing your first order before you get purchase tickets for another venue.

TICKET CODES CANNOT AND SHOULD NOT BE SHARED OR TRANSFERRED. you might not be able to buy tickets if you do so. (imo transferring does work if you’ve got the other person’s account info, as the code is specific to the eventim account tied to it)

tickets will be sold until inventory lasts.

per eventim’s faq page you can only deposit your payment info into your account if you buy tickets from the website. Otherwise it is NOT possible to save your payment info in your account before the sale. But! This should not matter since, after you have added a ticket to your basket, that ticket will be reserved for you for approx. 15 minutes, so plenty of time to put in your payment info! But you should still make sure to check if your credit card has a spending limit!

UPDATE: Tickets will be personalized for the person from whose account the tickets are bought. the people accompanying them do not have to be noted when buying. The buyer of the tickets has to attend the concert! If for some reason the buyer cannot go, you can transfer the tickets to someone else, but it’s a rather lengthy process. an example for how to transfer personalized tickets for a different artist can be found on eventim’s faq page under 3.

you CAN and SHOULD already click the link in your presale code email before presale starts. the link sends you to the general presale page. Pick the date of the show you want to attend & click on the grey button to at the right (I’ve added a screenshot below but it’s for the Vienna shows for which the presale was already today, so the button is blue. The button tomorrow will be gray before presale). NOTE: dates may appear twice, as you can see below. the date at the top is always for regular tickets, the one below for vip tickets:

after you have clicked the button, you will be send to a page which will say sth along the lines of “presale hasn’t started yet”

They’ll open a waiting room 30 minutes before presale starts. This waiting room will refresh & send u to the queue automatically once the clock hits the time of the presale. I don’t know whether it influences your position in the queue but I would recommend going into it anyway.

you will be send to the queue once presale starts. DO NO OPEN ANY OTHER TABS OR BROWSERS ANYMORE ONCE YOU’RE IN THE QUEUE! if you do, you’ll lose your spot in the queue.

If you’re WAITLISTED:

per eventim’s faq page, this means that you’re waitlisted until more, if any, tickets become available for your chosen city.

if that is the case, you will be notified via email with the relevant information & timing details.

your notification may come at ANY TIME after July 12, 2023.

eventim tweeted that they don’t know the prices for tickets until pre-sale begins (it was the same with the Lover Fest Berlin show). so I’d recommend setting yourself a budget (x)

the venue is cashless - alternatively you can buy a card from them onto which you can load money via cash or use the “schalke 04″ app to preload money on a digital card. this is relevant for buying merch! the physical card might also have a special design for Taylor’s show. General Advice

the Olympiastadion has a roof (in case it rains). but! only sections E2 until V1 one are fully under it, with sections F1 to G2 and U2 to S2 being partially roofed (see general seating chart below). I had tickets for section U2 at my concert and I would actually recommend not going further than this if you really want to be covered by the roof.

if you’re looking for cheap tickets: there should be standing tickets available for the bowl (besides the regularly seated tickets) and those should be the cheapest ones. I can highly recommend them! I had standing tickets for section U2. This section is tiered and has sectioned off rows. Each row consists of two stone steps on which you can sit down. So, imo, it’s essentially like having seats but paying much less money. And you have a great view from them! You also don’t have to worry about when you arrive - they fill these rows up from the back, so technically if you arrive shortly before the show begins, you should be at the front of the section.

Offering Free Software/Web Dev Tutoring Sessions on Twitch Stream Once a Month!

OK, the people have spoken! There was a definite expression of interest in coding tutoring when I floated a vague post about it towards the coding side of Tumblr, which was very exciting to see! I am really excited about helping teach new people in the industry, and I conveniently have a Twitch stream where I do lots of coding stuff on Sundays. Seems like these two things go well together! :D

Here's the deal:

For right now, I will allocate the first Sunday of every month on my coding stream to tutoring! This will be two slots of an hour each, one from 11am-12pm Central Time and one from 12pm-1pm Central Time. (Depending on interest, there may be more slots in the future as well. :) ) If you are interested in requesting a slot for tutoring, please fill out this form!

This is a pay-what-you-can offering, and if I offer you a live tutoring slot it will be at no charge! However, I welcome donations to whatever degree you can afford them, after the session, to help keep my stream and other projects going.

Submitting this form does not guarantee I will give you a tutoring session, as some subjects are more conducive to demonstrating on stream than others and some may be too far outside of my expertise for me to be helpful. However, I will try to at least reach out to you and provide some helpful resources if I have any to offer.

We're burning up in México and Central América, but unlike Notre Dame, Europe or Australia, I don't see any international media about it. It's almost like we're unimportant and the "civilized world" doesn't care. Many places are nearing 50°C and there are dozens of reported deaths already, and yet there's not a single peep about climate change in the media. The fact they constantly ignore speaking about it when things like these happen is journalistic malpractice. Just about every single part of México will be at over 30°C at 1pm today. Healing My Inner Queer Child

So, last night I couldn't sleep. So, in the end I decided to binge the second season of Our Flag Means Death until I fell asleep. I finished watching the show after waking up at 1pm. And after finishing the second season now, I noticed something: I managed to go 3 months (maybe even more) without consuming a single straight piece of media.

The main media I consumed over the last few months was: What We Do In The Shadows, Stray Gods, Castlevania Nocturne, Captain Laserhawk, Baldur's Gate 3, and now Our Flag Means Death.

Now, some of those Media have straight couples, but... They are not straight media. They are queer. There is just a lot of queerness going on in there. And...

It feels good.

As a queer Millennial, who very much grew up without a lot of canonical queer stuff (outside of a bit of Boys Love/Girls Love manga) and instead a ton of comphet stuff... It feels good. It really feels good. To just see people like me. And not just as background characters (with a higher likelihood of death), but as main characters. As the central relationships within the media. And it is complicated at times, yeah. Those characters get to be complicated. But they also get to have a happy end.

I really do not have a lot more to say, but... It is nice. It is nice to have this. Finally.

Admittedly, at times I almost feel for the straights. Because all the hot media releasing right now - outside of Marvel, I guess - seems to be queer. But then I remember that for most of my life those same straights expected me to be thankful for crums.

And don't get me wrong. Yeah, I am still gonna complain. About how there is a lot stuff with player-sexual characters in BG3. Or about how we have too much saccherine sapphic stuff or in general a lack of adult lesbians. Also, I need more canonical trans stuff. But... This is basically the first world problems of representation right now. After everything.

So yeah. You know what? This is fucking nice.

Alright, let's see if I can't layout what my "brilliant" brainstorming idea is, in a way that makes sense.

Brainstorm Week!

It's time to get those creative juices flowing to get ready for the @inklings-challenge. Here enters the thought of the mini sprint. The goal is not to actually get any part of a story actually written, but to get story options ready to choose from, once you are assigned to a team on October 1. The goal would also be to have at least a couple of ideas for each team with a couple of ways one of the themes might fit in with a particular story.

Here enters the mini sprint. Half an hour of spit balling ideas, thoughts, and questions to try and spark ideas.

I have no idea if this will work or be helpful to any one. I'm coming up with this as I go, but my thoughts are that each half hour session can either have the focus of a singular team or to quickly come up with an idea or thought about all the teams in the half hour.

In the case of the focus being on a singular team, the time would be split into the two genres of that particular team. Whereas the focus being on all of the teams could potentially be broken up into 5 minutes to think about the genres for each team.

The best part is that while I have an intense schedule figured out below, I think that this will be something that you can just go and look at the different posts on your own time and not live and it still help.

I suspect that most of the times will just be me posting different thoughts, ideas and questions at the below times.

Gonna do my first stream as a twitch affiliate today! \o/

I think it also happens to be the last day of ad revenue at 156% or something? Idk that I wanna blast ads all stream long, or that I'll even get enough viewers to earn more than a few pennies haha.... but either way, I guess I should probably research how to control adrolls BEFORE I start the stream, huh. :B

Wish I had some chat currency rewards set up, too... but maybe chat'll be able to give me an idea of what they think would be fun. :3

Gonna try finishing that calendar I started, as well as designing some subscriber emotes if I have time!

I am planning on changing my stream times to 5pm, but for today since this is kind of an ambitious project I think I'm gonna start early after I have lunch, around 1pm central US time.

COURT UPDATE

My trial is tomorrow at 1pm US central time.

I am not doing great...can barely eat...I'm losing sleep...I can't eve think straight...I'm turning into an old woman with gray hair.

Lily has the local ACLU number in our area in case things get bad...in case they deny me my meds and/or we even get so much as a hint that they are going through with this because of me being trans. If either is the case, this podunk little town will be getting steamrolled. But let's hope that doesn't happen.

So you mentioned in that last abattoirs post that it's eternal day inside the abattoirs. Unless I misunderstood something (entirely possible) that would mean there's not a day/night cycle, it's just always light out. If that's the case how does sleeping work? Do people just sleep whenever they're tired no matter the 'time of day' or is there a fluctuation in the light that would serve as the 'nighttime' for these people? Or perhaps they don't sleep at all?

Sorry for late reply, was thinking EXTREMELY hard.

There is a 24 hour day still, there used to be an internal clock system with the abattoirs, but proved to be kind of a hassle to maintain. So that idea got scrapped a few years into Abattoir construction. Instead there is one central time set via just syncing 10 clocks and handing them out for the populations to figure out. As a result most abattoirs are basically on the same time but maybe a few minutes off from each other. Timezones aren't taken into account though even though they are spread apart from the Eastern and Western Coasts of North America. With that 'night' is considered to be after 1pm, which basically just means that's when most people aren't working and can sleep. Day starts at midnight like it does in today times, it's a very clonky system which wasn't swapped out since both Gods of the Abattoir's are way too used to this time keeping system to want to swap.

But the light isn't constant! It can be tweaked by manipulating the blood chambers of the Abbys, so for Holidays the sky turns red and for #7 the sky will go dark/red/extra bright/some change to signal when hunting starts.
