This is Aamito Lagum. A model and actress, She currently appears in “3000 Years of Longing”, the new film by George Miller. In it Lagum plays the Queen of Sheba opposite Idris Elba as a Djinn.
When describing her, the Djinn says she isn’t just beautiful - she is beauty itself. I have to agree!
Lagum is from Uganda and was the winner of Africa’s Next Top Model (2013).

I just watched 3000 years of longing and I loved it when the Djinn said that he knew that it was game over when the girl he was in love with, started to shave her legs for another man.

“Love is not something we come to by reason. It’s more like a vapor, a dream, perhaps to lure us into the attachment of our own stories. If that’s so, how are we to know if it’s ever real? Is it a truth, or simply a madness?

Hm I just watched 3000 years of longing and I think it needed another hour. After the wish it felt, not rushed, but like it was missing a lot. Or skipping a lot. I think the movie still stands up without it, but I really would've liked to have seen more time. It's very much an art piece of a movie, I enjoyed it greatly

Dr Alithea Binnie (Tilda Swinton) is an academic, a creature of reason. While in Istanbul, she happens to encounter a Djinn (Idris Elba) who offers her three wishes in exchange for his freedom. At first, she doubts that he is real and she knows all the cautionary tales of wishes gone wrong. But the Djinn pleads his case, and eventually she is beguiled and makes a wish that surprises them both!

It’s thrillingly immersive - thanks to strong central performances and terrific sound design - utterly unique, and awfully Orientalist (that purebred Italian Matteo Bocelli - yeah, son of that Bocelli - plays an Ottoman prince is indicative of the good faith of its yarn spinning). Ignorant and othering, it’s also singular and creative. A weird one for sure.
