How different do you think the power dynamic would be between a reader, Chuuya and Dazai? Because even though chuuya might openly challenge Dazai i feel like he is still the one in control and that he has chuuya under his thumb. Which is sad because chuuya is such a loyal man and even though i think dazai has a certain fondness over chuuya, he also wouldnt hesitate to discard him if things came to it :(

honestly, it would basically be bmb HAHAHA like i don’t see chuuya as a sub or even a switch tbh but he very clearly respects dazai even if he doesn’t particularly like him all the time.

ultimately i agree with you on all accounts; dazai is, at his core, an extremely selfish person, and he is more than willing to do what he must to secure the best outcome for himself/what HE wants, irregardless of who he has to hurt or step on to do it. i don’t think that that makes his feelings any less genuine—like you, i think he truly does care for chuuya and has a sincere soft spot for him—i just think it’s more a case of his selfishness outweighs pretty much anything else. like sure, he’s fond of chuuya, but that doesn’t mean he’ll keep him around if he becomes a threat—that fondness isn’t strong enough to counteract his selfishness. if chuuya begins causing problems or threatening whatever it is dazai wants, he’s gone in an instant, personal feelings set aside for whatever dazai’s ultimate goal is.

if you start siding with chuuya too often, he’s gone. if you start to favour chuuya instead of dazai, he’s gone. if you start disobeying and listening to chuuya’s demands and orders over dazai’s, he’s gone. if chuuya starts to push back too hard, and dazai decides it’s too much work to keep him around and keep reigning him in and stomping him down back into some unstable state of ‘submission’, he’s gone.

however, i think chuuya knows dazai really well—perhaps even better than dazai believes he does (although dazai is so fucking perceptive i’m not sure this would even be possible ahaha)—and he’d know which buttons to press and when to keep himself ultimately safe and a part of the relationship, irregardless of the fact that dazai knows just how to get under his skin and chuuya is quick to anger/react. if chuuya really loves you, and he knows his only chance at being in your life and having any part of you at all means he has to share with dazai, means he has to play dazai’s game, then he’ll grit his teeth and fucking do it. for you, and only for you.

i think that as long as chuuya is willing to submit to dazai in some way and allow him to have and own that ‘leader’ or boss title, the relationship works fairly well. i don’t think chuuya necessarily has an issue with authority or being given orders, but i do think he pushes back and challenges things he doesn’t agree with, so that’s where most of their fights or clashes would stem from (aside from the obvious of dazai provoking him simply to get a reaction + entertain himself). it would mostly be concerning matters surrounding you—dazai thinks one thing is best for you, chuuya disagrees and pushes back as hard as he can while still keeping that delicate power balance and enabling himself to stay a part of this relationship. dazai isn’t exactly a tyrant though; not when it comes to chuuya, anyway. he values his opinion and he’ll hear him and his opposing argument out before he makes a final decision. there will be times where chuuya will have to swallow his pride and let dazai do what he wants even if he doesn’t agree with it, and there will be moments where dazai’s impeccable manipulation gets to chuuya and he’s tricked into believing dazai’s in the right and it was him in the wrong all along. ultimately, though, chuuya has enough of a sense of self preservation to know when to back the fuck down.

i think they’d even be able to cooperate at times tbh! and i think they’d both be able to find enjoyment in like, coming up with sexual punishments with you together or coming up with fun surprise outing ideas for you etc <3 because while they both heavily clash in the anime, they also fight like they’re pieces of the same puzzle and can, when they want to, fit perfectly together <3

i think maybe they broke up because they had different priorities at the moment. i mean, it happens! i feel like satoru was probably too focused on making the best out of the present—perhaps dwelling on the past a little—and reader was already a bit ahead with planning out their future. they could’ve had a (petty but messy) fight about that, which could’ve led to their breakup

i think both reader and satoru regret their break up, but neither of them was ready to reach out to the other and make things up. so, destiny allowed the two to cross paths again & they meet at their favorite spot in like a park or something. the spot they used to go to as a couple :’) maybe they both wished to reminisce about those romantic moments and then BOOM! emotional reunion

Now since I saw your most recent post about rubrub being kinda similar to makima I have sum questions: Is there any origin story about how your rubrub came to be or did he just popped into existence one day? And remembering that Makima had some twisted goals, does Rubrub have something like that? does he even have goals or his only purpose is being in charge of the gd world?

And as for the rub question: Yes he literally popped into existence along side the whole gd universe. The rub design that you all (surprisingly) know and (I doubt) love is the digital representation of the ACTUAL robtop. Y'know...the real Robert. So rub's whole goal is the same as the real robtop which is to create a game that people enjoy and to keep the npc's inside in control.

He doesn't exactly have "sick and twisted" goals, the guy just wants things to work properly but the existencial crisis of the characters keeps his whole world from becoming a "utopia" of sorts. In his eyes, deleting and brainwashing them is a perfectly reasonable way of achieving his goals.

I compared him to makima at first because of the whole "antagonist with 1 expression that is a sort of god in their universe" and also because I really like the csm art style but yeah you could compare them with their whole "A means to an end" stuff.

they each obviously have the main essentials literally anyone would have in their bag (keys, phone, cash/card + ID) but in addition to that:

bmb reader: lipgloss, a compact mirror, Daddy’s platinum credit card, phone charger + an extra battery pack, a tiny travel sized bottle of her fave perfume, key fobs for Daddy’s penthouse + Daddy’s office at work, a nail file, a miu miu card holder with all of her membership cards (gym, restaurants, country clubs, hotels, etc), a planner

tnii reader: a novel, several mismatched pens (and at least one is a sparkly gel pen), a water bottle, chapstick, tissues, a compact hair brush, hair ties + hair ribbons, a travel sized bottle of touya’s cologne, her favourite scented lotion, phone charger + an air tag, touya’s pills + lighter on the very rare occasion that he can’t fit them in his pockets

tag reader: bubblegum from jin’s convenience store, chanel wallet, headphones, sunglasses, old receipts with notes scrawled on the back, chunky hair clips + a scrunchy or two, a few werthers original candies loose at the bottom, bandaids, a pen that only works half the time, faded drive-in tickets she keeps meaning to scrapbook but forgets about, expired coupons

all: and, of course, an extra pair (or two) of panties since their significant others have a tendency to rip and/or soak n soil the pair they’re currently wearing (*/ω＼*)

omg so true actually youre right i take back what i said about mu qing not wanting him to feel bad he kinda would get off on it. the admirationnnnnn ahhhh yeah like mq does indeed admire him but he also has a thing for xl failing he likes when xl gets brought back down to earth with the rest of the imperfect flawed people. contrast hc who is simply ride or die no matter what. talking xl into cheating and proving that no relationship is perfect and safe would be such a win for mq AND he also gets to know hc is going through intense psychological torture its a win all round. plus i really do think mulian is the strongest most interesting relationship xl has because yeah hc was there and never left but he also had literally nothing to lose vs mq and fx who yes eventually left but did have a lot to lose and DID lose a lot!! and theyre still friends again after all this time!! and mq's world doesnt hinge on xl the way hc's does which is such an interesting difference because yes hc is always supportive and mq definitely is not lol BUT 1. that is a lot of pressure being someone's flawless idol and 2. idk how to say this in the right way but it kind of means more imo if someone doesnt necessarily need you but they still want you like xl is NOT mq's whole reason for carrying on in this world but he still admires and xl and wants to be his friend thats just more impactful because its a choice rather than an obligation. not that hc would consider his devotion an obligation but he would never make any other choice so personally it means less to me!! anyway i love the concept of mq in the situationship going hmm i need something for my complicated emotions and i think that something is further complications and validation through xl being imperfect that always does the trick
