Hard time of adolescence has come upon her. Not only she didn't expect that so much would happen to her; the discovery of mutant powers has putted her in a terrible position. The world is at brink of war between Mutants and humans, Wakanda has just came out into the light.
Will she make it out alive?

I have come to realize an issue I have with a lot of writing with the Winter Soldier programming in fandom is I associate it with cancer. So when fandom writes characters like Shuri or Ayo or Sam or Sarah as getting mad/upset about Bucky not immediately wanting to jump into solutions, my first reaction is 'slow your roll, folks, he's the patient, not them, he decides his course of treatment'.
When it comes to chronic and/or terminal illnesses, a patient isn't always going to react in a way their loved ones would like, and those loved ones have to learn to fucking cope. They're going to have really bad days struggling to decide to exist, and telling them things like 'how dare you quit on me' is really a shitty thing to do. They're the one with a terminal illness, and they definitely didn't ask to have it. Empathy for the emotional exhaustion should be at the top of the list, not emotional blackmail.
Which is maybe a little unfair to other writers, except, it's hard for me to unsee it now, and I automatically apply it to characters who fit the mold. We treat people who are struggling with setbacks with a lot of bizarre expectations. We're dismissive of their need to process and accept what a recurrence might mean, especially when it comes to their (wholly understandable) lack of an immediate desire to leap back into invasive and painful tests, procedures which they have to recover from, and other such things. It's often mistaken as a desire to give up, when what it typically is, is a cry for understanding and recognition: this sucks, it's terrible, I *am* trying to cling to existence for all of you, and that's not an easy choice to make because I'm tired.
I suppose I should write a fic about this. I'll have to think it through.

(Y/N) is a European immigrant kid in New York, trying to fit in. Some would say that she's normal. And in some ways, she is.
"A mirror" she thought to herself "I am a mirror. My very existence is a reflection of other people's features and lives."
Hard time of adolescence has come upon her. Not only she didn't expect that so much would happen to her; the discovery of mutant powers has putted her in a terrible position. The world is at brink of war between Mutants and humans, Wakanda has just came out into the light.
Will she make it out alive?
Sorry for my crappy English and a shitty summary, I swear, my writing will get better. I kinda changed some things here: Thanos isn't invading the Earth (yet), Guardians have already met the Avengers and so have the Defenders, and X-Men are in the MCU. I hope you'll like it, I'll probably establish some relationship, but later. BTW the Reader is 15-16 y/o. Also, it's my first fic :)
