Ok, I'll bite. What's different species is he composed of?

Well, so far he's part Ursari [bear], Dragonborn, a fish alien, there's a small bit of bird [he has a small amount of feathers on him...], and also Orc [because he's originally is one]

He's just an amalgamation of all the things he's faced

And just in case you need just the gist of why this is happening, our party members that consist of an Ursari, a Dragonborne, two half Orcs [or three, because I play the son], and his wife being an Aarakcroa [who I also play], went to a special yacht party when shit hit the fan

Keeping it a bit short, the two captains of the ship where aliens and one can turn into a giant bird, other playable character turned into a alien fish hybrid who almost killed his son, he just found out he and his wife [who's a Warlock] have magic

And also, his daughters have been kidnapped by an underwater circus and we're currently trying to get them back

He's not really into conflict, he's normally a peaceful guy, but what he faced [and is currently facing] was very traumatic...

So yeah, you see why he was so self conscious about his ability to protect his friends and family
