5 Muskies characters (any and all versions)
guess what, I'm cheating again.
1. book Aramis <3333333333 evil little shit. he's the worst. i love him.
2. literally EVERYONE from the soviet musical version. all of them are perfect (but especially Aramis, Milady, D'Artagnan, Porthos ughhhh EVERYONE OK)
3. show Richelieu (im just so weak for Peter Capaldi. the show would have been so much better if he hadn't resigned after the 1 season...) and show Louis XIII, especially when they're together. MELONcholly business lives rent free in my heart forever, god bless.
4. Milady. every adaptation. I love her (but show!Milady 🥵🥵 I don't even mind that she's not blonde, i'd love her to kill me honestly, the best lgbt thing that could possibly happen to me)
5. book Porthos. please be my sugar baby darling 🥺❤️
honourable mention for the main trio from the show. I love them, especially in s1, but I do regret that the show made them into like uhhh Actual Good People (mostly). I've read the initial pilot episode script and they were much more morally grey characters in it - pity it was toned down in the final version. But still, I love them ❤️❤️❤️

Desires: Lucifer season 5 on Netflix
Created: August 21, 2020. Last Modified: August 22, 2020.
Preface: Alright my Lucis, here’s the sitch: it’s been a minute. Life got a bit chaotic I wasn’t able to start season five quite on time when it premiered on August 21st because I haven’t finished the great 2020 Lucifer rewatch. I’m nearly done however and should be able to jump into it either later today or tomorrow, which is why beforehand I want to — as I’ve traditionally done for a few seasons — create a desires list and keep a tally throughout the season to see how many are met. I am going to try to pace myself, not binge, and watch a single episode a day so don’t spoil me. Likewise I will tag my spoilers. Here we go... #21DaysofLucifer
Season 3 and 4 Roundout - Desires Fulfilled / Questions Answered
✔We’ve seen other demons “like Maze” and a bit of what havoc they can reek. Well sort of. To be quite frank, although it was cool to see them possess the recently deceased, it wasn’t as impending doom as I was expecting. They didn’t seem nearly as disciplined or intimidating as Mazikeen, even Dromos, more bored and desperate.
✔ We’ve seen a little more or the heavenly host in Remiel. Remi was cool, if a bit intense. Her character, and her affinity to Amenadiel was a nice foil to see how far his character has come in evolution. But again like Uriel was for Lucifer, she kind of became a driving force character device to push Amenadiel’s growth. So I wonder if we’ll get to see more of her or not.
✔ (s3) The backstory of Lucifer’s arrival in LA, finding LUX, and making a deal with Amenadiel.
✔ (s3) Cain finally went to hell, YES! Not that I didn’t like Marcus Pierce/Tom Welling, there were some great interactions there, but I just think he was a wishy-washy antagonist based on how he was written and I can’t wait to trade up for Michael.
✔ Maze finally had some happiness and attachment to this silly mortal coil and it slipped away! Why Eve why? I love Maze’s bonding with humans, Linda, Trixie, Chloe. But I love that after a Millennia of serving, and then watching Amenadiel and Linda be happy in a family unit, that she might actually make her own and my hopes were dashed.
Things we got that we didn’t even know we wanted. SO GOOD:
Season 4 ep 8: Amenadiel bonding with Caleb and confronting community violence, police brutality, and systemic racism. It was a rough episode to be sure, but absolutely needed,
Chloe talking Lucifer down and out of a self-hatred spiral and his transformation into full-fledged devil and back again.
Lucifer playing Creep on repeat while missing the detective (even after insisting in a therapy session that “he’s not a teenager playing Adele on repeat) and Mr. Said Out B**** trying to rob Lucifer and gun point and ultimately get rich. What a fun twist.
The Dan and Maze Los X’s fight. They are wicked good at laying down the  hurt on the criminal element and I was wondering when they’d pair up again after dispatching Warden Perry.
The devil in a bar fight! I mean, it’s only fair since the ladies had their brawl. I love how this fight sequence was filmed in bursts of slo-mo from various angles, involved everything from fists, to tasers, knives, bottles, and the infamous pool cue, and they picked the perfect song for pacing (Jake Bugg, Lightning Bolt, could listen to it all day on repeat.)
Time for all good demons to go home / Enough, you will bow down to your king. Go home! (aka appropriate use of Devilish intimidation face)
Amenadiel vs Remi
A Rocky montage with Lucifer and Amenadiel / Amenadiel’s face the first time Lucifer drives the Corvette
Lucifer at the roller derby
Chloe the YA fangirl
Maze teaching Trixie about knives, with each handle decorated in a different toy.
Amenadiel and Chloe catching up: your father is so proud of you. Like and angel BOSS!
SEASON HIGHLIGHTS:
★ (s3) Amenadiel taking Charlotte home
★ Dan being comforted in his grief by Amenadiel
★ Amenadiel’s wrath and the brotherly duo tag team to lay the hurt on the drug dealer that got Charlie killed. It’s been a while since we’ve seen warrior angel ready to dispatch anyone in his way. And it was glorious!
★ (s3) Lucifer’s almost driving lesson with Trixie “Morningstar”
★ (s3) Maze torturing Lucifer by making him think he’s the Angel of San Bernadino
★ (s3) Amenadiel and Lina helping to dispose of Lucifer’s wings
★  Lucifer kicking Julian, Tiernan’s son, through a glass pane window
★ The goodbye kiss between Lucifer and Chloe
 DIDN’T LIKE:
☒ (s3) Cain playing guitar and singing. What is he, a crime lord, a top cop, or an act that the improv club wouldn’t take?
☒ Eve. I liked Eve, but we mostly got to see one side of her around Lucifer, and a kind of floundering an confused side when she was with Maze. The side that I would have liked to see more of was the maternal side that came out when she briefly talked about Abel or was interrogated by Trixie. That made her more layered.
☒ Father Kinley. That dude is just meh.
☒ Dan’s broken heart and rebounding with Ella. Don’t get me wrong, its a good arc, but I don’t see it lasting
☒ (s3) Abel and Reese. Those were two side stories I could have done without, although they had great moments of humor. I quite enjoyed Reese’s character, and although I didn’t like Abel Lucifer’s stick-figure comic illustration of Cain fighting with him over a rock was quite enjoyable.
WHAT I TRULY DESIRE: SINFUL SEASON 5, my BURNING QUESTIONS, and SPECULATIONS
Obviously, don’t spoil anything for me, but if any of my desires end up coming true in any of the first eight episodes maybe drop me a hint in the comments...
A big time jump. We need to see the lasting impact of Lucifer’s absence. I know that time in hell works differently per that episode where Lucifer saved Chloe and almost got stuck in a loop, but we still need enough time to elapse that the impact is felt on the mortal side. Or, we need to see the passage of time through a series of events without Lucifer, like a montage of character development. At least a year or so, if for no other reason then Trixie is growing up and I actually want to see her take driving lessons with Lucifer.
Last season Maze gave baby Charlie a gift, something she’d wished she’d had growing up, and previously had alluded to the language of demons, her many siblings, and teased her mother, the mother of all demons. Will we finally get to meet Maze’s mom Lilith (or however they address her)? And, in spite of Mazikeen’s found family, she still has restlessness and abandonment issues. Will her mom finally finally bring her peace, or will clashing with her resolidify Maze’s purpose on earth?
A Decker/Mazikeen team-up or girls night out 2.0 would always be appreciated. At this point its probably 4.0 if you count the bar fight and the bachelorette party.
Will we see tougher, scarier demons, or are they just warmup to the really scary depths of hell?
Speaking of hell, more hell. Tons of hell. I want to know the minutia of all the mechanics. If Lucifer’s gotta be down there in self-imposed exile, he may as well show us around. Pour us a drink.
Will Lucifer see Cain in Hell? Not that I’m dying to see more of “sad Cain” but it would be interesting to see a more dark or desperate or cunning side to him at least now that he’s actually neck deep in torment. Or, alternatively, I’m hedging my bets that he could be a good candidate to light the fire under Lucifer’s *** to get of hell back to the earthly realm. Even in hell, I’m betting Cain would have a soft spot for Chloe, and if news reached Lucifer that Michael were trying to abscond with his life and with Chloe, it would give Cain and Lucifer one last bit of “A-Hole brothers” common ground to bond over. Like “Brothers, am I right? Go kick, get Chloe back, I’ll still have enough guilt to torture me with in a few thousand years when you get back,”
Will Lucifer fall into peril in hell of once again potentially getting distracted and stuck in a hell loop? Will his servants be satisfied with his return? Will Amenadiel bust him out.
Mr. Said Out Bitch needs a role reprise. He’s been in every season opener 2-4, we’ve gotten to know his undergarments very well.  Its high time we get to know his name and story. He’s put in the work!
Amenadiel should be running LUX in Lucifer's absence. We got a tease of that in previous seasons (remember when he asked what would Lucifer do?) its time for that to come to fruition. Plus, any excuse to put DB Woodside in a suit, just because he wears them so well. It would also be interesting if, after that tragedy he’s experienced, Amenadiel will start taking after Luci. Maybe not the punishing, not yet, but wanting to seek out evil and corruption. It has been teased since s1 “fall as I did.” Perhaps he’ll start developing a taste for his bother’s line of work whereas he found it repugnant in the early days
Dan and Maze or Dan and Ella pair up. Both Dan and Maze are due for some happiness.
An Azrael reboot, when need more of her. She’s the angel of Death for pity’s sake. I don’t know if the original actress is still available or if they would have to recast, or if the character concept by Netflix would even be the same, but I need Azrael to be capable of sweet and unassuming and on a coin flip downright menacing.
More of Lucifer as a godparent, bless! And maybe a cool montage of “cousin” Trixie and Lucifer co-babysitting Charlie please.
Whilst on the subject of Lucifer and parenting, and without putting Trixie too much into harm’s way, I need to see what “I would do anything to protect that little urchin” looks like. Trixstar ride or die.
Father Frank, come back! I need a cameo or recurrent role pleeeeease.
Trixie in every episode. This is non-negotiable, much like chocolate cake. Beatrice is an all-star. In fact, I’ve decided that when Dad/God finally does show up, Trixie needs to be the one to get to know him / introduce him first. She’s been captain on the celestial cheer squad for four seasons, she’s earned this.
Who's going to see through Michael's facade first? I mean, I know that trailer shows Maze torturing it out of him, but as far as intuition goes, I've got a 50/50 split between Trixie and Linda, with an honorable mention to Dan.
If Michael is Lucifer's twin, does he have the same angelic compulsion skill set? Or something different? And will it work on Chloe or is she universally immune?
A “be like Mike” pop-culture reference. ******Spoilers: ******* all the trailers have revealed Michael already, so they owe us this for letting the steam out.
As far as pop-culture, how many movie and TV references will we get from Lucifer and ensemble this year? I expect A-game, from sci-fi to 80s action, on par with the previous likes of Parent Trap, Star Wars, Home Alone, Kim Possible, and Rocky.
Will Amenadiel’s necklace make a reappearance, even after he put it around Caleb’s neck in the morgue? Heavenly artifacts have a way of causing trouble in this show.
Will what finally learn what, if any, significance there is to Lucifer’s ring? Again, as all my fictional writings will attest, I really kind of want it to be a stolen little trinket from him Dad.
Plot twist: will we get to see Hell and the silver city all in one season, or is that too devilishly good to ask? It would be intriguing if Lucifer fell from Heaven for rebelling and now some threat like, for example, the mother of demons would pose a threat to the gates such that Lucifer was called upon to defend them. Not expecting anything Endgame level with a host of Angels popping up like sorcerers...but it is food for the imagination.
Plot twist: will Michael, duplicitous twin that he is, be revealed as the reason that Lucifer does not lie and can’t stand liars? Will be get a Michael back story? Is he perhaps the true rebellious son? see: my original fan conjecture here.

At this point you knew I was gonna do another Grey's Anatomy review 16×12
The episode all in all was kinda boring and didn't have much going on so this shouldn't be too long.
________________________________________
Jackson and Maggie
Still have a lot of venom towards each other 🙄 and showed it the whole episode. Jackson however had no right inviting his new girlfriend to dinner without running it by Catherine and Richard first. I mean sure it's your family's house but at least mention it to your mother and don't even get me started with the new girlfriend (Vic?) Inviting a whole other person to the dinner without asking first. Who just brings a random person to their boyfriend/girlfriend's family dinner and is just like this is ok right and letting herself through. She wanted to make a good impression and that was what she chose to do? Then him insulting Maggie all the time........ I might not be able to give a lot of advice on relationships but Vic come on, you got a lot of information and tea on Jackson tonight...... Run.
_________________________________________
Station 19 People
(Vic and the dude?????)
They aren't people to me at least not yet so I'm not bothering to really memorize their names like that. Out of all the dinner goers I felt most sorry for the guy. You're dragged to a dinner to distract your friend's boyfriend's ex girlfriend only to find out they didn't know you were coming and are clearly unwanted at the dinner. Then the people at the table started throwing cheap shots across the table. The poor girl Vic just wanted Catherine to like her and was thrown out to the sharks because Catherine was extremely petty that night. Just glad that in the end she acknowledged her.
_________________________________________
Catherine and Richard
I knew some dramatic stuff was coming this episode, but none like this. I didn't think that they were going to actually separate I saw the reminiscences coming and thought that was going to bring them together and my theory was going well until Catherine said a but in the apology. Quite honestly I think there could have been some added conversation included in that fight. Catherine was really heart broken from Jackson's dad she's broken and now hard hearted, and She really was trying to apologize and talk to him in the most Catherinesque way possible. I like to look at both sides in things like this, for Catherine she's been hurt and left to raise a kid on her own and has problems trusting, then she marries a man who used to constantly cheat on his wife, hell he cheated on Adele with her, before she died. Then there was Ellis Grey and let's not forget Pac North Heffa who was apparently 'there for him' all the time and then she comes to see him and hears that he's drinking coffee with his wife who wasn't her. However that was the time to start talking. She shouldn't have married Richard if she didn't trust him and could have spoken to him before drawing the worst conclusion. Then her buying the Pac North hospital????? 🙄🤷🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️
Richard in my opinion knew the hardheaded woman he married it wouldn't have killed him to mention the Pac North Heffa especially when he knows his wife is dramatic and extremely good at making wrong conclusions.
I'm not sure what's going to happen to them at this point honestly.
_________________________________________
Levi and Nico
(They've earned me knowing their names.)
Not much here, Levi's uncle who only liked him in the family and treated everyone else like crap died and was secretly gay to appease the family by giving them the image they wanted him to have. I loved the topic that they touched with him being married to a woman even though he was in love with a man because his family is against same sex relationships it was a good lesson because a lot of people are forced to do that even now. And I'm glad Levi finally moved out of his mother's basement maybe now she'll come around. I also loved his uncles partner, he was so nice and encouraging and I couldn't help but wished that Saul had lived so he would be a family member on Levi's side.
_________________________________________
Footnotes
Once again, what the hell is the point of Pac North???? Alex is still in Narnia..... oops my bad I mean Iowa, he's taking all of the doctors from Grey Sloan but now Catherine is buying the place??? I saw in spoilers for 16x14 that Webber was wearing blue scrubs again. Was this whole Pac North thing one big circle?? 🙄
Maggie wanted a fresh start after the death of her cousin and her first thought is to go work at the place she died. ......I'm confused.
And the Promo for 16x13
I'm wondering about those foster kids and Ben and Bailey and I'm wondering are they gonna adopt cause, Idk it doesn't seem like they have any parents. It's looking a little like the Meredith and Owen adoption storylines.

His Dark Materials season 1 episode 2
I'm a little late this week, and I really haven't had the chance to rewatch the episode, but here is my review.
I have to warn you that I'll be discussing a lot of things from the books, so if you haven't read them you should probably skip this.
Again, I'm doing this on mobile, and I don't know how to add cuts - if anyone knows how to do it on mobile I'd be glad to learn, because I don't have a computer.
A lot of things happened in this episode, so instead of going by order of events, I'll talk about it by characters.
Starting with Roger and Billy. Their reunion was beautiful, and I'm in love with Roger's character. He's such a sweet boy, consoling Billy, even though he is frightened himself. And we are able to see the faith he has in Lyra early on. And his interaction with Mrs Coulter was fantastic, it was like he was saying "I'm on to you" without giving too much away.
Then we have the Gyptians. It was nice to see Ma Costa still on the fence about the expedition, and heartbreaking when Coram gave her Billy's vest. In the books, Ma Costa trusts John Faa, and now we see why. On that note, am I the only one picking up something more between them? And then there's Tony. Ma is afraid to lose another son, but given the evidence there's no way Tony will just stay put if there's a chance of rescuing his brother.
Now for the biggest surprise in the episode: Lord Boreal. I have to say I'm loving what they are doing with his character. Yes, I did picture him older and kind of slimy, but I don't mind at all this new take. Boreal is sophisticated, and threatening in a non obvious way, and that's what makes him so dangerous. The scene in Jordan was amazing, we got to see the authority the Master commands, and we see Boreal is sneaky, pretending to yield just so he can do his own bit of research.
And then he crossed to our world and my heart stopped! The window is so gorgeous, it was so nicely done, I was mesmerized by it. And the feel of our world, it was so subtle, it reminded me of the descriptions given from Will's and Mary's pov. I know some people are on the fence about this reveal, but as I see it, it makes sense showing us now what Boreal is doing and introducing Will's plot before he appears. I've always wondered how Boreal knew Will's identity, and I had to conclude it had to do with his father, but it's nice to see it explained.
As for Asriel, I don't think it'll take that much away from his storyline. Right now, Asriel wants to find a way out of his world, true, in order to find a place that the Magisterium doesn't control, only to discover that the Authority has control over multiple worlds. And now that it's confirmed that Asriel will feature in season 2, I think it really is important for the audience to know there are portals into other worlds, even if Asriel thinks he is the first to cross. Plus it doesn't take away any merit of Asriel's doings, because he's still the first one to cross worlds in the open.
About the scene with Adele, I gasped loudly when Boreal touched her dæmon, but for the people who don't know about the taboo it wasn't that shocking, just enough. I think it will have more impact upon rewatching, and if the experience with the books taught me anything is that going back to understand some things is bound to happen. It also shows us that Boreal has a mind set that tells him some rules don't apply to him because of his status, which is a big theme in His Dark Materials.
And now the main event: Lyra and Mrs Coulter. I think the dynamic of their relationship is spot on. We got to see Lyra being a child full of enthusiasm in the Artic Institute, then begin told she needed to act differently, and Marisa equates obedience with trust. The bath scene was done well enough, although I missed the part where Marisa stared at Pan until he behaved like the golden monkey. A thing that I liked was Marisa calling out Lyra for lying, and all her talk about letting Lyra be mold by her really was a red flag. Marisa wants a clone of her, a version of her with a more easy start than the one she got.
The parallel between Lyra and Pan afterwards and Marisa and the monkey really illustrates their differences. Lyra feels the need to be loved, and is interpreting being well treated with love and affection, so she goes along and that's sad. Even in the books it said that Lyra was happy but lonely, like she was missing something. As for Marisa, she's so secretive that she hides parts of her to her own dæmon, meaning her own self. Both Lyra and Marisa are lonely in their own way, but at least Lyra has Pan.
From here on, we see Lyra being molded by Marisa, but showing resistance too. At first is by trying to be charming, by showing she's smart with the talk of Dust. Then Lyra sees her away from her dæmon, and the protests are more feeble. Then mild protests about the dress, and then the bag.
Marisa, meanwhile, is dealing with Lyra the best she can in order to keep her facade longer. In the Dust conversation, Marisa is hurting her dæmon in order to steady herself, and him too. Then Lyra sees the monkey without her, and Marisa just lies in her face, gaslighting her, saying she's just sleepy. But when she's alone again, she hits her dæmon, and that tells us she is someone who deals with self-hatred, and doesn't tolerate failure.
It was nice to see the rivalry between the factions of the Magisterium, and to get Marisa and McPhail to interact this early to establish a pattern. That visit, more than anything else, makes Marisa very frustrated. Her charm is useless with McPhail, and she can't manipulate him easily. And when Lyra points out that she's upset and lost control, she takes that as an offense and starts a fight with Lyra, only to feel in control again.
The confrontation between the dæmons and the speech Marisa gave was done beautifully, and I liked the modification. I liked that Lyra wasn't complying, and the mention of Asriel makes Marisa lose control yet again and reveal that he's Lyra's father. And the monkey lets go of Pan and immediately turns to her, (I think anticipating the abuse he would endure), and the confrontation stops at once.
Now, I saw some posts about how Marisa was hurt by Asriel and still holds a grudge, but I have some thoughts about this matter. From what I can remember from the books, including La Belle Sauvage, Marisa was married and had an affair with Asriel. Asriel wasn't the one who abandoned her, she chose to continue married because that was more advantageous for her. She lied about baby Lyra, telling her husband the baby was dead and rejecting her completely. I'll probably write a meta about this whole thing later.
In my opinion, Marisa wanted Lyra to admire her the way she admires Asriel, so hearing Lyra invoque Asriel like a protector hurt. So of course she talks badly about him, so she can tarnish Asriel's imagine and isolate Lyra even further. She doesn't reveal her own identity because she wants Lyra to like her first. So she gives Lyra space.
Then Lyra finds out she's being spied, and breaks into Marisa's office only to discover some blueprints, and that discovery was the only iffy part of the episode for me, but we'll see how it'll play out.
Then we have two interesting moments. First, when the golden monkey caressed Pan. Marisa is trying to show good intentions to Lyra, she's trying to get back to good terms. And at first she seems to think she's succeeded. The second is the breakfast scene, when she mentions Roger and how he must've forgotten Lyra already. I loved how Lyra tells her, without raising her voice but full of defiance, that she's lying. Marisa gives her the same look before the confrontation and orders her to eat, and Lyra does, but her spite all visible.
I enjoyed the party scene, but I was hoping to see Lyra talk with Boreal. But I get it, now that he's so visible to us it would be dumb to have Lyra not recognise him. I also enjoyed the fact that she escaped from a window.
The kidnapping scene at the end was the perfect way to finish the episode, it created an urge to keep watching.
One final thought, in Northern Lights Lyra mentions once that the monkey was far away from Marisa in a disturbing way, but then nothing more is said in that regard. With all this new content they're showing us, I'm really curious about what we'll see regarding Mrs Coulter and her dæmon.
I loved this episode, I'm really happy with where this is going, and I'm happy I'm not only watching something I read, but also new things that make the plot and the world building richer. Let's hope next week's episode makes me feel the same way.

Heyo! So I'm like suuuuuuuuper lost on like all of your WoW posts lol. Would you mind giving me a basic run down of your characters pretty please?
hey! of course! i’ll be honest, i’m still making and fleshing out a lot of the character, but this is a pretty quick and basic run-down of what I've got so far! thank you for the lovely ask!
this is missing a few of the characters that aren’t super fleshed out yet, and yes, this is my largest cast out of the CHP series!
_-_-_
Wings of War is set during the early 1970′s, in an alternate history that allows for some advanced technology, the inclusion of Intent, and the addition of wings being a natural part of some human’s forms.
it follows four teams (fluctuating numbers between five and eight members at various points) who have been hired by the Guiding Star Corporation. their job is to “develop advancements in technology, human endurance, and product testing” which, as it turns out, means that they fight to the death in endless matches, brought back to life using what’s known as a Respawn Machine.
the teams (north, south, east, and west) are shipped between ten different bases, scattered across several different countries. this represents the ability to pick different maps in most fighting, pvp, or 1st person shooter games.
on each teams, there are specific roles that the GSC are looking to have filled. each team has a “building” class, for example, which creates the titles of Builder, Maker, Techie, and Engineer. the “sneak” class consists of Assassin, Spy, Rouge, and Thief. each class can only be filled by someone with a specific set of traits, which results in, essentially, total reliance on GSC.
two teams have wings, and two teams don’t. i’m still working on filling out all the roles and creating all the characters, but here’s a basic run-down of what I have so far!
_-_-_
Adele Adler - the handler, the woman in charge. She runs relay between all four teams, doling out missions, handling issues that arrive on and off base, and acting as go between for the Teams and the Council. she’s supposed to keep her distance between them, and had managed that for all the teams before now, but...the men are growing on her! she has a surprising soft spot for most of them, and finds herself more and more willing to turn blind eyes on their shenanigans.
-
Jeremy - West Team’s “fast class”, this boy is a Speedster through and through. he has a short temper, a severe anger problem, and briefly made a living running drugs out in Boston. his weapon of choice is a chunk of wood with some sharp nails in it, and he can hit harder than you would think. runs his mouth a lot but is the only person on his team with any ability to understand the words take care of yourself.
Joshua - West Team’s Sharpshooter, and originally from New Zealand. lives in a camper just inside of the perimeters of the base. anti-social and with no interest in changing that, he took on the job because there’s a very large bounty on his head that Adele promised to get rid of.
Feliciano - the Rouge of the West team, he tries very hard to make himself look proper and put together but usually fails. had a bad reputation going when he first started, because he was pretty sick and just Not Feeling Socializing, but it’s easy enough to see that he’s a good guy these days. a former bodyguard.
Lucas - the Techie, and originally from Sao Paulo. he loves sugar sweet coffee, and has a prosthetic leg that’s fueled by Intent and a rare mineral. a technical engineer, meaning he uses Intent to make new technological advances. can talk for hours if you hit a subject that he likes.
Deiter - the Doctor of West team. he’s a good man, though he tends to have extremely manic episodes that are not helped by the incredible amount of upper’s he can often be seen taking. lost everything when the city he lived in was blown up during WW2. fiercely protective of his team-mates.
James - known as the General of the team. fought in WW2. suffered a severe head injury that still affects him today. a kind man with a lot of personality, and a love for animals. if you tell him something, he will likely forget it. don’t hold it against him, because he’s already doing that himself.
-
Tony - the Runner and local loudmouth of North team. you cannot pay this boy to be quiet, and he’s both stupid as a bag of bricks and also incredibly intelligent. from New York, where he had a lovely stint robbing the Italian mafia blind with his husband, Rizzo, until they were both shot up and picked up by Adele.
Rizzo - the Demolitions Expert of North team, and actually pretty adorable if you can get past the fact that he’s incredibly crass and has no filter between mind and mouth. Hopelessly in love with his husband, even if no one else realizes they’re married. he will burn water if you let him cook, so maybe best if you don’t.
Werner - the North team’s Medic. he’s absolutely batshit, but has a good heart. was running a black market ring in the country side when Adele found him, though he was originally from Oslo. couldn’t speak anything but German and Norwegian before coming to work for the GSC. has two pet rats.
Francois - served as a spy in WW2, and currently the North team’s Assassin. has a HEART based injury with a lot of the same symptoms as tuberculosis. was picked up by the GSC with an offer of as-of-unheard of medication. sardonic, and prone to cracking jokes that most of his team don’t pick up on.
Loto - the Archer, and a member of North team. from the Louisiana bayous, and great with a cross bow. has an old coonhound that sleeps in bed with him, but who Loto claims to hate. often forgets that he needs to actually go to the kitchen and get food, and that the food he needs is easily available.
Braeburn - the Mechanic, and the longest running member of any of the active teams. has a prosthetic arm. really fond of sweet tea, and more idea of what’s going on than he’s willing to let on. bound up in so many contracts, it’s literally woven into his Intent.
-
Elias - the OG title, Soldier, and a member of South team. fought in WW2, where he briefly met Francois before being shipped to Poland. was discharged after being severely injured, and lived homeless on the streets for a while with BJ. originally from Canada but ended up in America during his discharge due to an error on his papers. suffers from brain tumors caused by extended exposure to Iradium in the war.
BJ - the Hurricane (class title will change, I just needed a placer, oops) of South team. left an abusive home at fifteen and has been on the streets since. took a contract with GSC to get Elias medical treatment. dyslexic, and often described by his team as “being a lot”. uses a steel pipe for his preferred weapon. loves talking and telling stories.
Olek - the Firepower of the team, literally. can probably punch you hard enough to get a KO, but fights with an Iradium powered flare-gun that does serious damage. from Russia, with a strict I won’t tell you anything about my past policy, and a bizarre fondness for bears. great at giving hugs when you’re down.
Jakob - the Maker of the team. has a highly advanced prosthetic eye. losing the vision in his other eye. the guy who picked up BJ and Elias. has a real morality struggle between the job he does, and his own views on Mercy. probably needs a hug more than he lets on.
-
Scout - the Scout of East team, and yes, he does think that’s funny. grew up the oldest of six kids, with a single mother. started doing deals behind the schoolhouse to bring in some extra cash, and it got out of hand when he got older. has severe ADHD. can and will count cards if you play poker with him. no common sense.
Jane - the Guard of East team. unofficially fought in WW2. a big softy, under all that gruffness. suffering from major hearing loss, and with the habit of virtually never taking off his helmet. a pretty shy guy, and any kindness sent his way will catch him off guard.
Christophe - the Spy of the team, he was drafted into the Korean War, where he served a grueling eight months before being attacked by military trained dog-horses and sent home. a chronic insomniac who never settled back into civilian life, and has an abysmally childish sense of humor.
Ollie - the Arsonist of the team, he was living homeless in Daytona before Seamus found him. has horrible decision making skills and a pretty rough past, and considers the base home near instantly. his self-care skills could use some boosting, and he tries really hard to not mess things up.
Seamus - technically the Gunner of the group, but he would rather just make a lot of bombs and use them instead. missing an eye, and has a lot of self-worth issues and a pretty heavy accent that his speech impediment doesn’t help. a drunk, but having Ollie around’s been proving to be good for him.

What if Shura and Selion never left?
Tumblr media
((Hee ho doods! Prinnyfrost reporting for duty! Say, remember when I made my what if about the fake Zenon not invading Veldime? Yeah to sum it up, without him around, we’d pretty much wouldn’t have a game. That being said, I was thinking about it lately and it did bring up some ideas for 2 other what ifs I have in mind right now, and this post will be discussing part of the first one. First, some backstory. Adell’s actual parents, Shura and Selion, were demons that escaped from a Netherworld due to a war for power
Tumblr media
and no, unlike with Planets Vegeta and Krypton, it’s not confirmed whether or not the planet blew up, and they landed on Veldime. To their surprise, the people of Veldime were very kindhearted and welcomed demons with open arms. Shura and Selion soon made this world their new home and lived in peace. Unfortunately, that changed when the fake Zenon invaded. Wanting to protect everyone, they challenged the faker to combat, where they sadly lost and became his servants, thus leaving everything they had, including their child, Adell, to their closest friends. This story will be about what if that didn’t happen though. What if their friends, Mom and Dad, convinced them not to go after Zenon just yet as they fear they may not be ready? After all, they left their Netherworld due to a war, and now their dealing with what could be the strongest overlord in existence. It may not be a good idea to go after him just yet. Shura and Selion reluctantly agree that perhaps it would be better to get some training done before going after the big bad, plus they do have a child to look after as well. Fortunately, Zenon’s curse doesn’t turn everyone fully into demons and there’s a chance they could reverse it after defeating him.
Tumblr media
Now, let’s go over some of the changes in this story. As stated before in my “What if Fake Zenon doesn’t invade” story, I pointed out that Adell would definitely get some major changes. First, his dislikes of women and demons would be non-existent here. Adell wouldn’t hate demons because he knows full well that he and his parents are demons, thus proving there are some good and bad ones out there, and he wouldn’t hate women because he wouldn’t fall for Elenor’s trick. Elenor tried to get Adell to exchange his soul for information about his parents when he was young, thus resulted on those scars on his face. He barely made it out alive. Here though, he has no reason to see Elenor, so pretty much that event likely never happened. This also means that, while I do believe Shura and Selion would raise Adell to be a kind and strong warrior, considering how proud of him they were in the original timeline, Adell won’t be so fixated on keeping promises or avoid telling lies, since he only vowed to do so after Shura and Selion “abandoned” him.
Tumblr media
Even his fighting style would likely be different since in the original story, while it hasn’t been confirmed how he learned to fight, I do believe he was self taught in martial arts. However; it’s likely that in this story, Shura and Selion would train him to fight more like them. You gotta keep in mind, we are talking about years and years of prep time before the initial events of Disgaea 2, which is when Adell becomes 17 years old and Shura and Selion would probably also start training him since he was a kid in order to make sure he can at least protect himself. So instead of a brawler, Adell would become a magic knight. And if Selion was the friend that Mom learned from that Adell mentioned, that may mean Adell could learn to use summons as well. Ooh.
Tumblr media
His relationship with Taro and Hanako would be kind of the same. After all, Mom and Dad are Shura and Selion’s closest friends on Veldime, so Adell playing with Taro and Hanako from time to time isn’t outside of the realm of possibility here. The only differences I could see here are Adell calling Mom and Dad “Aunt” and “Uncle” to avoid confusion, and Hanako’s adoration for Adell becoming a legitimate crush since they’re not related at all.
Tumblr media
“I’ll become a strong, sexy demon one day and win Adell’s heart for sure!”
This may or may not be a problem in the future, but we’ll see.
Tumblr media
The story begins normally with many years passed and Shura, Selion, and Adell feeling ready to take on Zenon. Instead of searching for Zenon, Mom insisted on summoning him, though they were against it at first because of the life energy required for the ritual. As usual, Rozalin pops out, claiming to be Zenon’s daughter. And like before Rozalin is bound to them by the ritual and therefore “guides” them to find Zenon. Things play out normally aside from the fact that Shura and Selion join Adell and Rozalin, refusing to let Adell fight Zenon on his own.
Tumblr media
They soon come across Axel and his crew working on their travel show. When Rozalin tries to trick them into thinking that Axel’s Zenon, this...almost doesn’t work.
Rozalin: “That is him! That man over there is my father!”
Adell: “Really?!”
Selion: “Hold on, isn’t Zenon trying to remain secretive in the eyes of the public? Why is he going around with a camera crew?”
Rozalin: “Um...well...”
Shura: “I expected you to try to pull a stunt like this. I never believed you would willingly take us to him, being his daughter and all.”
Adell: “Well, hang on, it wouldn’t hurt to ask them right? If they work for Zenon, maybe they could point us in the right direction.”
Selion: “I suppose you’re right. Let’s give it a shot.”
Adell goes up to them and asks whether or not they work for Zenon. Axel, being the guy that he is, sees this as an opportunity. Director told him to stop making up enemies, but what if the enemies are real, eh? He tells them that their Zenon’s elite soldiers and they’ll take down anyone that gets in his way. Of course, this ends up badly for him.
Adell: “So, were those really Zenon’s elite soldiers? They were pretty weak.”
Rozalin: “I’m not sure. Father has plenty of loyal servants under him. It’s difficult to keep track of them all.”
Selion: “Not surprising considering that you’ve never been outside before.”
Shura: “I believe it’s time we call it a day and continue our search tomorrow.”
Adell: “Sure. I’m starting to get hungry anyway.”
The episode ends normally with them heading home and eating dinner, Zenon ordering other servants to look for Rozalin, and the news announcing that Axel has been murdered.
Tumblr media
Episode 2 begins with Rozalin having nightmares about her past life. Oh and before I forget, Rozalin’s staying with Shura, Selion, and Adell in their home instead of with Mom and Dad. While I do believe either Shura or Selion can cook, it probably won’t stop Hanako from making food for them from time to time, especially if it means making Adell happy. I don’t really imagine them living in a mansion of some sort, so Rozalin would still probably call it a dog house.
Tumblr media
Still beats sleeping in an actual one, eh Zetta?
Tumblr media
Rozalin “guides” the 3 of them to a destroyed palace (and yes it’s destroyed due to Fubuki’s attack on it, NOT Shura and Selion). Despite her little trick from earlier, they do want to trust Rozalin to help them out with this and take her back to her father.
Rozalin: “You’re really going to trust me despite what happened yesterday? I am a demon and you all intend to kill my father. What part of that equation gives you the notion that you can trust me?”
Shura: “While it is true that I expect more of your tricks, I do prefer not to use you as a hostage, especially since we summoned you by accident.”
Selion: “If we did, we would have done so quite some time ago. Our target is Zenon. It would be wrong to include his daughter who isn’t responsible for the curse.”
Rozalin: “Is that so? Demons don’t usually trust each other, let alone risk their lives for the sake of humans. I must admit, you are quite the peculiar bunch.”
It didn’t take too long for them to come across Tink, who had been transformed during the attack and things play out like usual with Tink getting jealous and attacking them for speaking to the princess in such a friendly manner until Rozalin calms him down with a spell. Tink joins the party under Rozalin’s insistence since he is her best friend from childhood. Axel has been informed that it’s been reported that he died during the fight. In secret, Rozalin tells Tink that they need to keep an eye on this family because they are a rather dangerous bunch and she needs his cunning to deal with them, especially since they’re outnumbered now in this story. When they meet Axel again, his reaction goes from complete fear to a mix of fear and excitement.
Adell: “Hey, aren’t you guys Zenon’s squad from yesterday?”
Axel: “Hahahaha! It’s that Red Knight from before! I hope you’re ready! This time you’ll feel the true sting of the Dark Hero!”
Shura: “Dark Hero? I heard of that title before. Aren’t you the record holder for the most Ding-Dong-Ditches within a day?”
Axel: “Ah ha! So you’ve heard of me! My greatness spreads across the galaxy even to this day.”
Adell: “So wait, you DON’T work for Zenon?!”
Rozalin: “Pathetic fool! Your desecration of my father’s palace won’t be forgiven!”
Axel: “Huh? What are you talking about?”
Rozalin: “I am Rozalin, the only daughter of Overlord Zenon, and you are an intruder!”
Axel: “Y-You’re Zenon’s daughter? Y...Y...Y...YES!!! This is it Director!”
Director: “What do mean, Axel Darling?”
Axel: “Get this, the Legendary Red Knight and White Tiger face off with each other in a glorious battle for the sake of none other than the beautiful daughter of Zenon himself! Heated battles from love triangles are all the rage nowadays! This is the perfect chance to prove that I’m still alive!”
Adell: “Wait, but I’m not in love with-”
Axel: “Red Knight! Let’s put your feelings for the princess to the true test!”
Adell: *sighs* “Do I have to do this?”
Selion: “It’s doubtful that he’ll let us leave until we fight. I pray this won’t take too much time.”
After Axel loses again, Rozalin congrats Adell for winning the fight for her. Adell jokes by asking if he won a date with her, to which she completely denies, but she will allow him to carry her home. Adell rolls his eyes after saying “oh, wonderful.” Selion questions how someone like him managed to successfully destroy the palace, to which Tink replies that it wasn’t him, but instead Demon Lord Etna. And that’s where I’m going to leave this story for now.))

Bughead Family Discord Member Spotlight
Tumblr media
Graphic by: Katie ( @betty-cooper )
This week the spotlight is on Bridget (@duskyblossom)! Click the read more link below to get to know our member!
Spotlight by Mila, @jughead-jones
Bridget | @duskyblossom
Name: Bridget
Age: Old enough to do Lego.
Location: Somewhere in this crazy universe.
Any other languages aside from English people can contact you in?: I would say a little bit of French but probably best not to haha.
Favourite Riverdale characters and ships?: Betty, Jughead, Cheryl (after she reconciled herself), Mary, Midge (rip), Valerie (somehow fell off the face of the earth?), Fred! My favourite ships are definitely Bughead and Choni, they’re just so adorable!!
Favourite moments from S1 & S2?: My favourite episode was 2x09 because of how the writers executed it, I know a lot of people disliked it but I thought the storylines in that made sense (Not because of the lack of bughead, I liked the actual CONTENTS and not just the shipping aspect.) 2x12 was also really good! In terms of bughead content, obviously 2x12 and 2x14 were the most bughead filled parts of Season 2, but I really liked 2x05 because man, that pulled at the heartstrings. Stuff like the ‘I believe you, Jughead.’ scene was what made Season 1 really cute in terms of Bughead. I also really liked the dynamic they had between Betty and Jug in S2.
What are your hopes for S3?: In terms of Bughead, I really want to see RAS giving them a chance to act like real teenagers not 25 year olds. I want to see them being all cuddly and just being happy for once!! I’m also super intrigued to see where the serpent storyline will go, and how Betty will interact with Gladys and Jellybean.
Other fandoms you’re into?: Nothing, really. I used to be a huge Hunger Games and Harry Potter nut, so you can still talk to me about those! I also LOVE The Office, it’s my other favourite TV show!
Something non-fandom you love?: Reading, art, and baking!
What are some of your favourite movies/TV?: Oh, BOY. This question is really hard. For TV, obviously Riverdale is my number one, but The Office US comes a close second. I got so invested in The Office and it was so difficult to see it end. For movies, the Sound of Music can’t really be beat in my books. It’s such a timeless classic that i’ve loved forever. La La Land is my VERY close second, that film was and still is the death of me. Lady Bird was an INCREDIBLE film, I really related to it and its bittersweetness and sentimentality! And classic musicals like Mamma Mia and Grease.
Favourite books?: I read a lot, so I’m so excited to share some of my faves! Obviously the Harry Potter series, that influenced me a lot. The Hunger Games trilogy was also really gripping and I loved that. The Sun Is Also A Star by Nicola Yoon was so enlightening and I loved that. The Catcher In The Rye by J.D. Saldinger, such a classic and I loved the way it was written. Turtles All The Way Down by John Green is a really good book that brings light to mental health in a less harsh sense which is perfect for me. I’m also reading The Circle by Dave Eggers at the moment which is great so far!
Favourite bands/musicians?: I don’t really listen to anyone in particular, but my 2 favourites are Adele and Sam Smith.
If you could live in any fictional world which one would you choose and why?: I feel like everyone says this, but probably Harry Potter. I wouldn’t want to risk the chance of getting murdered in Riverdale tbh!
Favourite food?: This question is so so SO difficult but I’d have to say shoestring fries with aioli and a huge side of salad.
Favourite season?: Spring! All the flowers bloom and all the baby animals are born, it’s starting to get warmer but it stills rains! Everything about it is just wonderful.
Favourite plant?: Baby’s breath! It’s so delicate and sweet.
Favourite scent?: Starfruit or vanilla bean. Starfruit is such a fresh and pleasant scent, while vanilla makes me feel all cosy and calm.
Favourite colour?: Pink, pink, pink!! I love it so much.
Favourite animal?: Can I be boring and say dogs? I just love them.
Are you a night owl, an early bird, or a vampire?: Can I say none of these? I love sleep so mornings are not for me, and being a vampire is a big no-no. So I guess I would say night owl, as I’d rather go to sleep late than wake up early.
Place you want to visit?: All over Europe - it’s such a beautiful and interesting continent.
Do you have pets?: If you do, tell us a little about them: Yes I do! I have a schnoodle (schnauzer + poodle cross). He is the cutest little thing and always gives me snuggles even though he really just wants food haha. I love him to death.
Tell us a little about yourself?: I mean, what’s there to tell? Hmm… I guess I could say I’m a creative person. Work that I’m not inspired by is really difficult for me such as areas like mathematics or science. I’ve always been a creative soul, I much prefer the arts over sitting at a computer and typing equations or finding out molecular structures. That stuff just doesn’t interest me! I’ve always been a girly girl at heart, as I said before I adore the colour pink and cutesy things. Tying in with being a girly girl, I’ve been a hopeless romantic since I can remember. I feel like I always look at the idealistic side of things, which doesn’t help me being a perfectionist. To all the people who aren’t perfectionists, lucky you. It’s beyond frustrating when something isn’t how I want it to be. Making art and other things is a challenge for me, if I’m not completely happy with what I’ve done, I will throw it out. There’s a running joke that I’m not allowed to give up on a piece anymore because I’m that bad! I’ve always been super academic, I’ve never been one for sport as it doesn’t activate my mind as such. Although I must say, swimming is something I’ve always been good at. I’m such a water baby! I’m super in to fashion and photography, it really interests me how you can express yourself through simple things like what you wear. I think that’s it!
Fun or weird fact about you?: My pinky finger on my right hand moves completely on its own. I can move it up and down without any of my other fingers moving. I haven’t met one person who can do it too!
Asks for fanfic authors:
How long have you been writing?: About 3 years now!
Which is your favourite of the fics you’ve written?: Well I mean My Muse Yet My Saviour as that’s the only thing I’ve done in the bughead fandom so far!
Favourite fic/chapter/plot-point/character you’ve ever written?: Probably Chapter 9 of MMYMS. (Spoiler if you haven’t read it!) I was really glad I got to incorporate Jellybean into the story and write her out in my own way as I’ve seen other writers do before. I can’t wait to see how she’s portrayed in S3!
Which was the hardest to write, and why?: All of it, to be honest. Writing is difficult for me as I get bored easily with a lot of things and I have to push myself to put out the best content I possibly can.
How do you come up with the ideas for you fic(s)? (examples: Do you draw inspiration from real life? Listen to music? Get inspired by TV/movies?) Do you have an process to your writing?: Can I say my brain? I just make stuff up as I go along, and somehow make it work! There’s no rhyme or reason to my writing either - I just word vomit onto my document and then organise it!
Idea that you always wanted to write?: Just normal, teenagery bughead. I think that’d be adorable!
Favourite character to write?: Betty - she has so much versatility and you can create a lot of dimension with her!
Best comment/review you’ve ever received?: All of them. I’m so appreciative of all the praise I get, it really motivates me to create more content. Thank you to anyone who’s ever commented, I appreciate you!!
Best and worst parts of being a writer?: Best is probably having that creative outlet to share your work and ideas. It gives me a chance to share all my thoughts and feelings in a way and I love it! Worst is probably the time it takes. Mostly I don’t have enough free time to write and when I do I’m not in the mood. Finding that balance is really difficult.
Do you have any advice to offer?: Keeping working hard! If you don’t push yourself, your work won’t be of your best ability. Giving yourself a challenge shows off your skills and makes you work harder than before, which really pays off.

Semi-Useful Notes for Writing for THE ROYAL TUTOR
(Author’s Note: This includes all twelve episodes of the anime (plus the movie), as well as up through Chapter 84 of the manga (18 Oct 2019) and what info I can glean from the Character Book (unfortunately it’s all in Japanese). I will continually update this post as the series progresses and new spiffy stuff shows up, so visit my Master List of my ROYAL TUTOR Stuff to see the latest version.)
While writing A Noble Soul (which is done, by the way!), I had the idea that I personally love the little touches of authenticity that make a story more 'real,' and hey, if nothing else, I learn a few things along the way. (I *am* a researcher, after all!) So I did a lot of searching to find the real-world analogues of the buildings, references, history, and so forth from the series. As you’ll see in the descriptions, I explain how I determined which ones were which.
You’re welcome to post questions, comments, share this, etc. Hope it helps anyone else who wants to write for the ROYAL TUTOR fandom! (Quick question - would everyone prefer me to include chapter references for stuff? It’d make this post much longer, but if the fandom thinks it’d be useful, I can give it a shot.)
So, here we go!
GRANZREICH FAMILY INFO
Viktor von Granzreich, current ruler of the kingdom of Granzreich, assumed the throne at 18 (considering his father’s much later death, this may have been for reasons of health on his father’s part, possible abdication on his father’s part, or other political reasons)
Maria von Granzreich, Viktor’s mother, still living
NOTE: Her sibling (name and gender as yet unmentioned) is the Queen’s parent
Father’s name as yet unmentioned, died of natural causes at ‘a ripe old age’
NOTE: The princes mention in earlier chapters that they do remember their grandfather from when they were small, so his death is relatively recent)
Viktor’s wife (appears only once in flashback, name as yet unmentioned)
NOTE: One of her siblings (not sure if brother or sister) is the parent of Beatrix von Lothringen
(Beatrix also has three younger brothers and one younger sister)
Viktor’s children:
Eins von Granzreich, Viktor’s eldest child and firstborn son
Kai von Granzreich, Viktor’s second son
Currently engaged to Beatrix von Lothringen, first cousin to the princes
Bruno von Granzreich, Viktor’s third son
Leonhard von Granzreich, Viktor’s fourth son
Licht von Granzreich, Viktor’s fifth son
Adele von Granzreich, Viktor’s sixth child and only daughter
LOCATIONS:
GRANZREICH (real world analogue: Austria)
Granzreich population: ~6 million
Side note: Both Viktor and Leonhard are shown riding white horses - these are the famed Lipizzaner stallions, from the Spanish Riding School of Vienna, Austria
Other side note: Viktor’s typical outfit is clearly inspired by the military field uniform of Franz Josef I, Emperor of Austria (the white variant that the princes wear on some of the covers/inside art is the gala/formal version); the three medals shown on Viktor’s uniform are the Order of the Golden Fleece around his neck, what appears to be a simplified version of the Long Service Cross over his heart, and what appears to be a simplified version of a Knight Grand Cross of the Order of Maria Theresa just below that (a round circle with a cross).
90% of Granzreich’s population is Gherman (see below)
3% of Granzreich’s population is Kvel (see below)
Wienner (capital) (real world analogue: Vienna, Austria)
Wienner's population: ~1.3 million
Weissburg/Weisburg Palace (both spellings are used) (real world analogue: Hofburg Palace, Vienna, Austria) - specifically, the part often shown as denoting the palace is the Neue Berg wing
Karl Theater (real world analogue: Carltheater) - operettas
Remnant Theater (possible real world analogue: Raimund Theatre) - operettas
National Opera House (real world analogue: Staatsoper (originally Vienna Court Opera)) - opera house
National Art Museum (real world analogue: Kunsthistorisches Museum - directly opposite the palace, it is the largest art museum in the country; the image of the museum behind Heine when he announces the prize matches the façade of the building)
Granzreich University (real world analogue: there is no University of Austria, per se, but there is the University of Graz (the second largest city in Austria), which is the second largest and second oldest university in Austria)
Wienner University (real world analogue: University of Vienna, the building shown in both the anime and the manga is the main building - this is where Doctor Dmitri (and later Bruno) comes to lecture – it is also recognized as a leading institution for studies in Humanities – Bruno would do well here studying Philosophy!)
Prunksaal (real world analogue: Prunksaal) – the national library (also housed within the palace in another building)
Within the Prunksaal is the Royal Archive, where historical documents, judicial records, going back hundreds of years, and other documents the royal family keeps from one generation to another are preserved; only royals and a fraction of statesmen are permitted to use it (this is the place referenced in the anime that Prince Licht says even princes can’t visit without the king’s express permission)
The plaza/fountain where the KaseKrainer stand is (real world analogue: Donnerbrunnen Fountain in the center of the Neuer Markt)
Granzreich Military Academy (real world analogue: Theresian Military Academy (one of the oldest in the world) - yearly had 100 nobles and 100 commoners enrolled)
Princes are enrolled at the age of 15 (in-series)
Schwarz Palace (real world analogue: Schloss Neuwaldegg, aka Villa Schwarzenberg - at first I thought this was the Palais Schwarzenberg, but double-checking the architecture confirms it's the Schloss) - in-series, given to a general who played a major role in the war 150 years ago by the reigning king, Friedrich IV, and currently Prince Eins’ residence
Kohl Street, the site of Café Mitter Meyer's second location (real world analogue: Kohlmarkt, which is indeed right next to the palace, and leads past the Catholic Church of St. Peter)
The train station (mentioned in-series when Viktor gives directions, as well as the departure point for various trips) (real world analogue: Wien Südbahnhof, Vienna’s main train station)
Wienner Grand Hotel (mentioned in-series as Herman Koenig’s previous place of employ) (real world analogue: Grand Hotel Wien, Vienna’s first Grand Hotel, opened in 1870, and *the* last word in elegance - Herman would have worked in the Kavalierbar, the hotel’s bar/lounge)
Augustinian Church (Augustinerkirche) (not mentioned in series, just a useful note) - the parish church of the royal court (located next to the Hofburg)
Salzichl (the royal villa and hot springs) (real world analogue: the Kaiser Therme at Bad Ischl, aka the ‘Emperor’s Spa, favoured holiday resort of Emperor Franz Joseph I - and yes, the architecture as shown in the manga is exactly what the villa looks like... Leonhard would his own reasons to love it there, as it also has a renowned pastry shop)
OTHER NATIONS:
Fonsein/Fonseine (both spellings are used, though Fonseine is used more often) (real world analogue: France)
Capital - Fleur (real world analogue: Versailles - while the capital of France is actually Paris, Versailles was the primary residence of French royalty until the revolution, and the art in the manga depicts the Palace of Versailles and its famed gardens (which, as Bruno ruefully notes, are in fact larger than the gardens of Weissburg Palace, aka the Hofburg). Rather than differentiate between Versailles and Paris (approximately 15 miles away), the manga conflates the two of them together, as the map that Claude shows the princes depicts Paris’s center. Also, the manga accurately states it’s a half-day from Wienner to Fleur by train - at a guess, the train station that the princes arrive at is Gare de l’Est.) Some of the famous sights in Fleur include:
The Etoile Arc (real world analogue: the Arc de Triomphe, and as Claude points out, is a monument to France’s endurance through war and hardship, and is carved with bas-reliefs indicating peace and friendship)
The Opera House (real world analogue: the famed Paris Opera House (immortalized in literature by Gaston Leroux in his novel The Phantom of the Opera), stated to have been completed “five years ago” (as the Paris Opera House was completed in 1875, this puts the current date at 1880-ish)
The Art Museum (real world analogue: the museum depicted here is the Louvre, and Claude is not kidding when he says you could spend a week and STILL not see all the art museums in Paris)
The Cathedral (real world analogue: Notre-Dame de Paris - immortalized in literature by Victor Hugo is his novel The Hunchback of Notre Dame, although Leonhard possibly mis-translates Claude’s description as to when it was built - Notre-Dame de Paris was completed FIVE hundred and fifty years earlier, not FOUR hundred and fifty)
The Department Store (real world analogue: because the interior art is so limited, this is likely one of three places - Le Bon Marché, the Bazar de l’Hôtel de Ville (BHV), or Printemps Haussman)
Current queen: Queen Isabelle (distant blood relatives of the same family as the von Granzreichs) (real world analogue: debatable, as post-1870, France was ruled by republican government, rather than a monarchy - also as of Chapter 69, Claude confirms that his mother and father are both abroad (so yes, Isabelle is currently married).
Her son, Claude, first prince of Fonseine, the only child (and a child not much older than Adele, and THIS is Adele's intended fiance!) (I was under the impression she was affianced to someone else already!)
Granzreich and Fonseine have been in friendly relations for the past 200 years through royal intermarriage
AND EINS IS TO BE ENGAGED TO SOMEONE IN FONSEINE (correction - Eins is later revealed to be engaged to the Princess of Belgian (see below); however given the close intermarriages between their real world analogues of France, Austria, Spain, Germany, and Belgium, this may have been a negotiation point between Fonseine and Granzreich for upcoming treaties or other political purposes)
Beyer (real world analogue: Bavaria (southern state in Germany))
Belgian (real world analogue: Belgium)
Current queen: Queen Charlotte (real world analogue: Charlotte, Princess of Wales, wife to Leopold I of Belgium)
Princess Paola, second princess of Belgian (later referred to in Chap 77 as Charlotte) (real world analogue: Charlotte, later Empress of Mexico - possible reason for the name change is to avoid confusion - her brothers are also mentioned in the chapter... real life analogues for them would be Leopold II and Phillippe (their third brother died in infancy)
Viktor confirms in Chap 77 that the two nations are still on good terms
Ghermany (real world analogue: Germany)
Iel (real world analogue: Palestine/Israel)
Kingdom fell 1800 years ago. Kvel is used more as an indication of the Jewish populace rather than a specific nation, both in terms of bloodline and social/religious heritage
Madri (real world analogue: Spain)
Nederland/Neterlanden (both spellings are used) (real world analogue: the Netherlands)
Orosz (manga)/Erosz (anime) (real world analogue: Russia)
Capital - Pietarigrad (real world analogue: St. Petersburg - while the capital of Russia is Moscow, St. Petersburg (at one point named Petrograd) is Russia's second largest city, is Russia's cultural capital, and is the port city referenced here) (and it's 1800 km from Wienner to Pietarigrad, and the railroad route they show IS accurate to travel from Vienna to St. Petersburg!)
Grand Hotel Orosz (real world analogue: Grand Hotel Europe (confirmed via pictures of the architecture compared to the manga; opened in 1875, and one of the three most luxurious hotels in St Petersburg)
Orosz University (real world analogue: Saint Petersburg State University, the oldest university in Russia)
Doctor Dmitri references an art museum while discussing Pietarigrad (real world analogue: the Russian Museum)
Grand Theater (real world analogue: Mariinsky Theatre, the preeminent music theatre of late 19th century Russia, and the site of the premieres of most of Russia's most famous ballets, operas, and other music)
Romano (real world analogue: Russia or POSSIBLY Poland, more on that in a second)
King: Alexander Alexandrovitch Romano (real world analogue: Czar Alexander II)
Crown Prince Ivan Alexandrovitch Romano
Prince Eugene Alexandrovitch Romano
Russian uses patronymic names, so your middle name is a derivative of your parent)
ALTERNATE real world analogue: Poland - since Austria and Russia do not share a border (and mention is made of inspecting mines on the border between their nations), it’s possible that instead Romano (while borrowing heavily from Russian inspiration for names) is actually Poland. (Rationale: what is modern-day Czechia was originally part of the Austro-Hungarian empire, which DOES share a border with Poland.) While Polish is traditionally written in Latin script, it *can* be written in Cyrllic.
I’m still nailing down whether the Romano flag is based on an actual nation flag.
Venezia/Veneto (both are used) (real world analogue: Venice)
Laguna Empire (real world analogue: TBD)
Kingdom of Kataro (possible real world analogue: Qatar)
Yapan (real world analogue: Japan)
Eastern Continent (real world analogue: Asia)
Western Continent (real world analogue: Europe)
GRANZREICH’S ECONOMY:
1 florin = 100 kreutzer (real world analogue: the florin and the kreutzer, ratio the same following Austria-Hungary's decimalization of the currency system in 1857)
A doll costs 55 kreutzer
The Royal Guard makes 30k kreutzer/year (300 florins/year, as per the anime and the manga)
The ransom for Maximilian and Heine was to be 1500 florins, or 150,000 kreutzer… meaning the ransom for Kai at 1 million florins was 100 million kreutzer -- Heine wasn't kidding when he says it's the annual budget for a small country in the 1880s, (In the manga, the ransom is set at 300,000 florins for the prince, and 1500 florins for Heine and Maximilian)
Licht, on the other hand, earns 120 florins working at the cafe... which strikes me as odd because he only works one shift a week (even if a shift is potentially 12 hours). Now, this might actually be him figuring he works full-time, which would make more sense. But this has to be a YEARLY income, there’s no way he makes this much in a month if a member of the Royal Guard makes 300 florins a year.
Rosenberg quotes a rent of 150 florins for a 2br flat... again, this has to be for a year, there’s no way this is monthly.
Economic crisis 30 years ago (real world analogue: the European financial crisis beginning in the 1850s)
Granzreich's main industries: porcelain and wine
Also agriculture, according to the author's notes at the end of Vol 2
1880s TECHNOLOGY:
COMMUNICATION: Cables/telegrams are now fast enough for a 24-48hr message even all the way across Europe -- and crossing the English channel by ferry takes 1.5-2hrs
LOCAL TRAVEL: Primarily carriages, horseback, and walking -- trains are for longer-distance travel
INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL: You can get from London to Perm, Russia within SEVEN DAYS
TRAINS: The Orient Express (1883) went from Paris to Vienna in 15 hours overnight (not much different from now, actually!)
TELEPHONES: The telephone exchange does exist but the infrastructure is still VERY new and not heavily in use yet
POWER: Electricity is rapidly gaining ground for newer construction, but older buildings are still using gas, lamps, candles, etc.
1880′s EUROPEAN CULTURE:
Ballet, opera, operettas, plays, music
Social halls are still separated by 'class' (nobility vs commoner)
Popular dances in Europe at this point include the waltz (DUH, this is Vienna), the redowa, the mazurka, the polka (big shock with Germany next door), the cotillion, and the varsouvienne (another Polish dance)
Social etiquette at an event included the use of 'dance cards' (or fans!) - these were presented with a list of the songs/dances to be held over the course of the event, and if a gentleman wished to engage a lady for one, he wrote down his name (like making a reservation)
There is a TON of information out there about how one does (and does not) behave at a social event during that day and age, and safe bet that our dear princes have had it drilled into them from the time they were small. Some fun ones include:
WHY one wears gloves (because bare hands indicates holding hands, which is SHOCKINGLY intimate)
Not dancing with the same partner more than once (unless you're either engaged or about to be, because it puts you on intimate terms with your partner)
What is socially acceptable to eat at a party (the reason trifles and 'snacks' are served is so no one can embarrass themselves at table)
Games are occasionally combined with dancing (if you've seen AMADEUS, where during the masquerade they're playing Musical Chairs as they dance, and the loser has to pay a forfeit, you get the idea)

Finding Kurt Hummel: A Katy or a Gaga
Tumblr media
Masterpost
5x04: A Katy or a Gaga
It’s about this time that Glee decided - I just don’t give a fuck anymore.  And that’s fine by me because I actually love these super cracky episodes of season 5.  And underneath all the crazy jokes, there’s a bit of heart and a bit deeper story, you just have to go looking.  Now - I will say that it’s silly to me to compare Katys and Gagas, because the two artists aren’t all that different.  I’d say the two of them vs Adele is probably a more striking difference in presentation.  But as the end of the episode states - who cares about any of it.  It’s arbitrary anyway.  Just be true to whatever your weird self brings forth.
That One Time Kurt Hummel Started a Band
Tumblr media
So, we all thought the rumors were a joke until we actually saw the episode.  That’s right, Kurt Hummel decided to start his own Madonna cover band! And then he decided one dude singing Madonna was a bit limited, so he decided to open it up to letting girls in - which makes it easy as he has three girls ready and available.  Or - two and a half, as Rachel isn’t really ready to do much more than focus on her Funny Girl Broadway stint.  (Why she isn’t focusing all of her attention on that is beyond me, but this isn’t about Rachel.)
Tumblr media
So, let’s break this down.  Is Kurt starting a band really out of nowhere?  No, I don’t really think so.  I mean it is mentioned at the end of Tina in the Sky with Diamonds, lol.  But really - he tells Rachel that she shouldn’t just let life pass you by, and later on, he talks about attempting to do something a little more mainstream so to get better recognition.  So I think this is Kurt deciding - hey, life is too short, I need to get myself out there and seen, and I’d like to perform more.  Why not start something myself and make something out of it.
(I have to wonder if this stems a little in part because Chris wouldn’t let the writers let Kurt be a writer (even if Kurt becomes a little bit of a writer.))
Anyway - he is all enthusiasm and joy as he talks Santana, Dani, and Rachel into it.  But, it’s funny, he’s still playing it a little safe asking them to join.  Would he have really taken the risk if he didn’t have three singers in his back pocket to join him? I don’t know...
Meanwhile - let’s take a quick second and talk about Adam.  It’s a throwaway line, but one that does pack a bit into it.  See - I’m still guessing that Adam was still thinking things were just fine, if going really slowly.  And then Kurt goes away for spring break and comes back engaged to his ex.  I’m not surprised that Adam kicked him out of the Apples.
So - Dani is totally in (bummer they never do anything with her).  Santana wants partial control, which Kurt is okay with (for the most part).  Rachel won’t be joining just yet - nor do I blame the girl.  And Kurt’s one happy kitty thinking this whole thing is in the bag.
Enter Starchild, Stage Left
Tumblr media
If this still doesn’t sum up Kurt and Santana’s relationship - I don’t know what would.
Kurt’s scrapped together all of his tip money to rent out NYADA’s one room to hold band auditions.  (At this point, my main issue with NYC stuff is that it’s claustrophobic.  They have two sets. I mean they have the diner now, and new cast members help but sometimes it feels stifling.)  Anyway - I’m bypassing the implausibility that in all of New York /no one/ shows up to this indy band audition.  I mean - c’mon, you’ve seen American Idol and all the crazies that show up just to get ten seconds of fame.
Now that I think of it, this whole American Idol-ish set up is purposeful, most likely, as Adam Lambert started there.  And there’s your real reason for Kurt’s band, folks.
Anyway...  Santana wants to name the band The Apocalypsticks.  And Kurt’s having none of that.  Can you say -- this kid likes control?
Tumblr media
Man - all of Kurt’s facial expressions in this scene are priceless.
So - we have our introduction to Adam Lambert’s Elliott “Starchild” Gilbert.  And he out Kurt Hummel’s Kurt in just about every way.  Which is probably why Kurt isn’t even at all open to the possibility.
I mean, okay.  So Elliott comes in, looking crazy fab, in a costume he designed himself, and exudes confidence while still retaining an incredibly kind demeanor.  But on top of that, here’s a guy whose presence is noted the moment he walks in the room.  And Kurt’s still screaming to be heard.  Kurt thinks “competition” right off the bat, and dismisses Elliott before really even giving him a chance.  Hence the barbs about the clothes, and the disturbed looks throughout the performance.
Tumblr media
I don’t even like this song - and still love this performance.  Adam Lambert is amazing.
Santana freaking loves it.  Kurt is all -- nope, and a bit of -- what is even going on.  It’s kind of hilarious to me that as much as Kurt has always considered himself as “out there” when he’s face with actual “out there” he’s a bit conservative about his ideals.  Kurt dismisses Elliott without even thinking about it (not even worrying about Santana’s threats to bitch slap him) on the basis that Elliot, and his look, is too much.  But the underlying thing is that this band is about Kurt - and Kurt doesn’t want to be overshadowed by someone who not only shines as a performer, but has the possibility of completely outshining him. And Kurt’s insecurities get the best of him.
Role Reversal
Tumblr media
Okay, so I really love this scene.  Why? because it’s flipped from every other Hummelberry scene that we usually get.  Kurt’s the one having a crisis of character and Rachel is the one to help doing the emotional lifting.  Was that so hard show? Was it? Here’s a Hummelberry I can get behind.
But SO? Isn’t it hypocritical that you only like Hummelberry when it’s in Kurt’s favor? YUP!  Actually - I like Hummelberry fine, it just got tedious as a Kurt fan watching every plot line start with a Kurt story and end with a Rachel story and/or Kurt playing the “gay best friend” there to support Rachel.  It’s nice that they give Kurt an actual story line and let Rachel play the supporting role.
Anyway.  Rachel’s heard from Santana that Kurt doesn’t want to share the “lavender lime light” with Elliott.  Rachel calls him out on possibly being jealous or wanting the band’s attention all to himself.  Kurt counters - saying that’s not really what it is (though that is a part of it), but more so that he wants to try to be something that fits in, that’s mainstream, that is easily accessible.  And Elliott, and all his Elliott glory, would not work for that.
It’s interesting that this pulls on some threads from season 3 - mostly that Kurt feels like he can’t appeal to a mass demographic and because of that it’ll hold him back.  And it’s such a fascinating thing because when you look at it from a Doylist POV - this quickly, gay character is not only now a leading role (and the leading male role), but also lead role in a romance story. Oh Kurt - if you could only view your life like the rest of us can.
I think also, interestingly, this is where the show itself decides to stop being the mainstream thing that everyone wanted it to be (or that it was in the beginning) and becomes the niche, cult show.  Own it Glee.  Own it.
Tumblr media
Anyway, Kurt laments, however, that all of this is hard.  Interestingly, he’s looking to the future, wanting the stability, and that there’s nothing wrong with wanting to take the easy way if possible.  It’s interesting because I think both Finn’s death and being engaged play a role in all of this.  I mean Kurt thinking about his future, and how he’s going to make it out there, and that you only live once - do what you can to secure your future stability is written all over it.
Well, Rachel says what I’m thinking -- being different is always hard, but it’s better to be you, kiddo.
Or -- in the language that this episode is going for -- Kurt’s a Gaga trying to be a Katy so he can be as successful as his friends because he thinks they’re Katys (even though they’re both Gagas.  Hm.) - but the fact that he is a Gaga frustrates him because he thinks he’s too specific and individual and niche to ever have success in a mainstream way.  But Rachel tells him that being a Gaga is awesome, and if he isn’t true to his Gaga self, then he’s never really gonna get anywhere.  And, maybe joining up with other Gagas instead of pushing them away isn’t such a bad thing.  (lol this paragraph)
Oh - and I should mention, because if I don’t someone will yell at me - Kurt’s sewing his own clothes.  Yup, skill Kurt Hummel has probably always had - in action.  Nice touch, Glee.
On an Intermission
Tumblr media
So - let’s talk about Kurt as a waiter.  Um.  He’s not very good at it, lol.  Oh Kurt - you should take a page out of Cooper Anderson’s book, and use serving as an opportunity to try out new things, like accents, and different personalities.  It’ll help you get through the day more -- promise.
Anyway - after a lot of soul searching, Kurt decides that Rachel might be right, and Elliott would be helpful to his band instead of harmful.  And through TV magic, and Elliott desperately needing to be in Kurt’s band to fulfill his own bucket-list, Elliot’s there in the diner, toned down, and ready to play by Kurt’s rules.  Kurt, however, doesn’t need him to be toned down - just to be his authentic self because Kurt wants to be his authentic self, too, and they should both try that out together -- with everyone else in the band.
(Also, we learn that Elliott is from New Jersey, land of malls, and he didn’t get into NYADA - because NYADA is apparently stupid.)
So - Adam Lambert joins the cast for a tragically short amount of time.
I also love that Santana comes along and tells Kurt to stop flirting because of his fiance back in Lima.  (And then gets all hot and excited when she learns who he’s talking to.) And this leads to an aside from me - look, I get there are a ton of Kurt/Elliott shippers out there.  I get it, they have a nice chemistry about them.  But I really love Kurt and Elliott’s friendship.  I kind of love that these two can be friends and there aren’t any romantic overtones to it.  But obvs. that’s just me.
Pamela Lansbury
Tumblr media
So.  I love this scene, it’s just quiet and snarky as they Kurt, Santana, Dani, and Elliott try to come up with names for the band.  “Queen” Kurt is shooting them all down, though.  Oh Kurt - your wanting to be in control will always be a part of you, won’t it.  Personally, I liked Aerola 51s, lol.  Anyway, I kinda wish we had more scenes like this - they’re so much fun.
So, Rachel comes in, and magically comes up with Pamela Lansbury for the name.  Which.  Sure.  I mean, I get it - it makes sense for Kurt, especially the Lansbury part.  Not so sure about naming the band that has connotations to your future mother-in-law, but you don’t know that yet, do you ;)
Tumblr media
This is what crazy Kurt looks like.  Have we ever seen him make this face before?  I don’t know.
Anyway - Kurt tries to get Rachel to join because sure -- she’s just dealing with the death of the person she thought she’d spend the rest of her life with, starring in a Broadway show, going to college, and working as a waitress -- but what’s a little side band, too? (I mean, god, even I think she needs a break.) But Kurt is magical and can talk her into it.  And bam -- Kurt will not even get to sing in his own band.
(Seriously - why are Chris’s vocals not on this one? Fail, Glee.  And you were doing so well!)
However, I still love Roar.  It’s my jam.  And even if Kurt doesn’t sing -- at least he’s having fun with the rope they managed to tie to the ceiling? Oh this show...
Tumblr media
Gay, gay, gay, gay, Rachel.  <----------Season 5 NYC in a nutshell.

Orphan Black 5x08
Long rambling ahead because I’ve been crying for hours and I’m a mess. Feel free to message me with your comments and opinions, or if you just want to cry. We need to be each others’ emotional support system during this difficult time. Also, spoilers.
Devastated. Shattered. Heartbroken. Angry. I am falling apart over here you guys. This episode killed me. I knew that it was coming but I still held a sliver of hope in my heart. I realised my hope was void as soon as the episode began though. S’s calmness, the heartfelt scenes with her, Felix and Sarah, and the whole S/Rachel/Ferdifuck reveal all pointed in one direction.
In all, the episode was very good. I loved how things are starting to come together, how freedom for our clones is so close. The whole thing with the evidence against the Neolutionists made my heart happy. Finally the assholes get what they deserve. I was happy to see an S-centric episode (though I would’ve gladly gone without it if it would’ve ended differently). I loved that the episode showed us some normalcy, showed us all the characters just being a family and supporting each other.
Felix’s art show was really well made and I’m happy that the writers didn’t just forget about his passion for art, but actually took it and turned it into something beautiful. I loved how all the clones got to be a part of it and the concept just further proved the artistic genius that Felix is. And don’t even get me started on his speech to S, Sarah and Adele. I was full on sobbing at this point.
“So to my galaxy of women, thank you for the nurture.” brb having a breakdown. I need this quote on everything I own
The Cophine scenes made my heart so happy. There wasn’t a lot of them but the little that we got was so beautiful. The fact that Delphine bought the painting of Cosima, and the way they clicked ‘send’ together. Ugh, just beautiful. I love that they are slowly inching towards genuine happiness. I just want them to be safe, in love and happy. At least give me this, OB. pLEASE.
Ooh and then we have Helena! I felt a little bit bad for Gracie but honestly she had it coming. And the Neolutionists are idiots if they think that they can take down Helena. She is unstoppable and has the skill and strength of a killing machine. And now she has her children to fight for sooo I’m sorry but y’all gonna die. You do not threaten babies, ‘kay??
*Takes deep breath* okay here we go. Siobhan Sadler. My favourite character, the one I’ve looked up to and loved since day one. She’s gone, but died a fucking hero. I knew that they were going to kill her off, but watching the episode and seeing them build up the love for Siobhan did not make it easier. She had a perfect plan figured out that would ensure freedom for her family, but she knew that she wasn’t going to make it. I thought the scene of her arranging the flowers for Felix was such a beautiful scene because it was sort of like foreshadowing for a future parallel where Felix and Sarah have to arrange flowers for her (why am i doing this to myself? ;___; ) I know a reading of the letter she wrote is coming and it’s going to break me. Just seeing S writing it was so heart wrenching ugghh. Maria is so bloody good, god damn.
Siobhan working with Rachel and Ferdifuck (yes I will forever call him this, he isn’t even worth that) added another layer to her and made me love her even more. She does whatever it takes to keep her family safe, she would sacrifice herself for her family’s happiness and that is exactly what she did. When Rachel called to say that Ferdifuck had survived the meeting, S knew that he was coming for her and that the chance of her surviving was slim, but her family’s safety was on the line and she’ll be damned if she let Ferdifuck anywhere near them. Side note: I hate Rachel slightly less now.
I screamed the moment Ferdifuck shot her and at this point I was crying rivers and having a full on breakdown. He thought he had her. But NOPE, he underestimated Siobhan mothereffin Sadler. Her asking for the photo of Felix and Sarah in order to be able to grab the gun was such a genius yet heartbreaking move. She shot him and I have never been this happy. I loved her final words
“You know, as a woman, I’m 14% more likely to survive a gunshot wound than you are. Maybe not this one but, okay, it’s been a good run.”
Such a Siobhan thing to say, but it killed me. Deep down she hoped she would survive, but she was content with dying. She had protected her family, her bond with her children was stronger than ever and she passed knowing that they had a bright future. The last thing she saw was Felix and Sarah smiling.
“Chickens.” cue sherry ugly sobbing. realises kira is going to have to deal with this as well. remembers kira calling s “home.” cries even more. Who needs a heart anyway?
Do I think Siobhan Sadler deserved better? Hell yes. I think the writers got a little too kill happy this season and wanted one death that would shock us more than ever, one that really hurt. I mean, yeah…sure. But I think killing her off when there’s only two episodes left was unnecessary and didn’t do much plot-wise. Ferdifuck could’ve gone out a different way (even though I’m really glad that it was by S’s hand, especially after she had been shot herself. It only proved how fucking bad ass she was and that Ferdifuck was never better than her). There’s still so many things that need to be resolved and there is not enough time for us to properly see how S’s death affects everyone and how they bounce back from it. I might’ve been more okay with it if it had happened earlier on because then I feel like it would have served a point to the story: to have the characters grow even more and take what S taught them and try to heal. Now I feel like everything might be too rushed.
The episode was an emotional roller coaster and I am so broken. Siobhan Sadler is the role model everyone should have and no one would have been able to play her as well as Maria. She brought a depth and life to Siobhan that I don’t think anyone else could have accomplished.
S became everything I needed in a female role model. My own mum passed away two years ago and S - as well as Maria and her music, but that’s a different story - helped me so much. I won’t go into that now though.
Anyway.
Thank you, Siobhan, for everything. ♡
