Alfa Romeo F1 Team KICK: 2023 Australian Grand Prix – Sunday
The two points claimed by Zhou bring the team’s total to six so far this season, as Formula One goes on a four-week hiatus ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix at the end of the month.
The two points claimed by Zhou bring the team’s total to six so far this season, as Formula One goes on a four-week hiatus ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix at the end of the month. Alfa Romeo F1 Team KICK brought home two points from a chaotic Australian Grand Prix in which three red flags conspired to keep fans on the edge of their seats until the very end of the race. Zhou Guanyu kept his…

New Alfa Romeo / Sauber name
Tumblr media
The FIA has published the official entry list for next years F1 season. And on that list, the former Alfa Romeo team is called 'Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber'. Also, rumours say, the team will officially race under the name of 'Kick Formula 1 Team Sauber' at some races.
Next years chassis will be called 'KICK Sauber C44'.
The new name of Alpha Tauri isn't known yet, the team is still called Alpha Tauri on the entry list. Only difference is that it has an RB at the end of it's name.
And Cognizant isn't title sponsor of Aston Martin anymore.

Poles, podiums, and the best of the rest.
Who are all these handsome young men in colorful jumpsuits that seem to have taken over your dashboard this year? And where exactly are they going in those really fast cars?????
Over the past few years, Formula 1 has spread into all corners of culture, and Tumblr is no exception. People around the world have learned about F1’s 70 years of history, its international circuits in cities like Monaco and Abu Dhabi, and its Grand Prix schedule of Free Practice, Qualifying, and the races themselves. Tumblr being Tumblr, though, it’s really all about the drivers: 20 of them per year, two for each of the ten official teams. Add in all the other assorted characters that orbit around the current grid, and you have quite the lineup to follow each weekend.
F1 and its fast boys have been appearing in our Week in Review lists as far back as 2020, and on last year’s Year In Review Athletes list, drivers took up a healthy 6 out of the top 10 spots. This year, the sport’s domination of the dashboard kicked it up a notch: There was an 18% increase in engagement with the Formula 1 tag in 2022 compared with last year, and Lestappen (aka Max Verstappen/Charles Leclerc) became the very first F1 ship to hit a Week In Review ships list on July 10, 2022.
A lot of this might have something to do with the growing popularity of Netflix’s Drive to Survive docuseries, which follows the twists and turns of each F1 season, shining a light on the personal lives of the drivers and their team members. Tumblr’s interest in the sport just feels natural: with all of its drama, excitement, and contained, charismatic, and frequently controversial ensemble cast, it seems tailor-made for Tumblr users who enjoy sports anime and adventure dramas.
So, what’s the pitch for F1? Whether you root for the underdog or support the champion, there’s a storyline for you. The interweaving backstories of the drivers, many of whom have grown up driving together since they were kids, are like catnip to Tumblr’s love for characters with history. And, of course, there are the races themselves—high-tech cars going hundreds of miles per hour. What’s not to love?
Or, as @gaslightgirlsummer puts it: these men are all millionaire tax evaders trying to kill each other and/or themselves in the fastest cars on the planet (that are worth more money than most people will ever have in their lifetimes) on a weekly basis.
Whether a longtime fan or newly interested, you’ve probably seen F1 around Tumblr this year, featuring in fan art, GIFsets, and a plentiful amount of very silly memes. But, in case you’ve ever been curious about who Tumblr loves the most, here are the top 35 Formula 1 tags in 2022, featuring not just current drivers but retired drivers, reserve drivers, upcoming drivers, race engineers, and team principals, too.
Lewis Hamilton
Charles Leclerc

Thoughts on Alfa Romeo rebranding as just Stake F1 Team? It’s so boring and doesn’t sound like anything F1 if that makes any sense lol, I was hoping for a real monstrosity to make fun of but alas.
I mean Haas doesn’t sound anything like F1 either, and Benetton and AlphaTauri were clothing brands.
I mean what I find weirder is that they’ll be Stake F1 Team at some races and Kick F1 Team at others (where gambling isn’t allowed)
I personally have more issue with this as it’s reminiscent of a Mission Winnow/A Better Tomorrow where tobacco companies ‘rebranded’ to get around F1’s Tobacco sponsor ban
To be honest I’ll probably just call them Sauber as it took me a while to get used to Alfa Romeo.

The FIA F1 entry list for the 2024 championship still shows the team’s name as Scuderia Alpha Tauri while the Alfa Romeo team has been rebranded to Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber.
It is very likely at this point for the new name reveal to happen in February at the livery reveal. The question remains if the team is allowed to change the name after the official entry list has been published.

Alfa Romeo F1 Team KICK driver, Valtteri Bottas, visited a Save the Children-run project to raise awareness of the charity’s precious work with disadvantaged children. The Finnish driver visited the Mooroopna Kinder in Shepparton, Victoria, on Tuesday, interacting with the mostly three- and four-year-old children attending the kindergarten – one that support the local Indigenous community.
Valtteri also visited the original premises of Mooroopna Kinder, which were heavily damaged during flooding in October 2022, and visited the local bush area, home to many traditional foods and medicinal plants used by the Indigenous communities for centuries. Valtteri took part in the creation of an Aboriginal flag, made with handprints from the driver and children, and also experienced the educational programmes ran by the teaching staff. The Alfa Romeo F1 Team KICK driver also chose the occasion to unveil a special edition helmet he will use during the Australian Grand Prix weekend, designed by Aboriginal artist, Ricky Kildea, which will be auctioned after the race weekend in support of the Save the Children activities at Mooroopna Kinder.
Save the Children has been running Mooroopna Kinder since 1969, offering a valuable service in the community by providing free kindergarten services to families who would otherwise struggle to afford it. Part of the service also involves free transport for children – a significant barrier to access for many families.
The kindergarten is a safe place for children from diverse backgrounds and has a strong connection to the Indigenous community, with cultural practices embedded into everyday activities. Over 80% of the children attending are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders, with many having special needs. The work done by Save the Children is crucial, for access to quality pre-school education is important for a child’s development.
Following the heavy damage of October 2022, when the area was affected by flooding, Mooroopna Kinder has continued operating at interim locations: the original premises, visited by Valtteri, are on course to be reopened in May 2023.
Valtteri Bottas, Alfa Romeo F1 Team KICK driver: “The visit to Mooroopna Kinder was an inspiring moment: it was emotional to see the direct, tangible effect that the work of Save the Children has on local communities, especially in the wake of a natural disaster that threatens to destroy their daily lives. Education is key for a child’s future and the work done at Mooroopna ensures these kids will have a better chance in life – it’s invaluable. I have made a lot of memories today, but the one that will stay with me the longest is seeing the smiles on the face of each child. Thanks to Save the Children, they can hope for a better future, whatever their start in life.”
