♫ ♫ (Something a Bit Different)
I’m doing something just a little bit different tonight with my music post.  My friend, Ali, sent me this and I thought it was simply too good to pass up.  I’ve always loved Elton John, and this shows just what a truly talented man of music he is! From a piece in Upworthy … Musical geniuses take on many forms. But the ones who can seemingly pluck inspiration right out of the imaginary realm and…

Kibbe Body Types, Part 2: David Duchovny
Tumblr media
Gillian Anderson's Kibbe analysis here; beginner's guide here.
Okay.
So.
We're going to have to do this analysis a little differently.
David Kibbe has a thorough quiz to type your body correctly... if you're a woman. So... I'm going to have to go around the mulberry bush a bit to arrive at David Duchovny's Kibbe Type.
...Why don't you tag along with me? We'll find out together.
(Spoiler: I already know his Type.)
KIBBE BODY TYPES-- BUT FOR MEN
Tumblr media
(**Note**: You can skip this section if extra reading isn't your thing.)
Kibbe identifies female bodies through their height, their hips, their chest, their waist, and their shoulders. However, male bodies are a whole different ballgame: width is the key measure-- of greater importance even than height-- as well as the softness or "fleshiness" of the frame.
THANKFULLY, Aly Art's got my back with this video.
Now: we must identify the yin-- soft, delicate, short, light-- qualities and separate them from the yang-- strong, tall, lean, vertical, angular, sharp-- qualities. Everybody has a blend of those two traits slapped on their skeletons; but Kibbe tried (tries) to keep it as simple as possible.
There are five basic body types; and those five types are divided into yang (sharp) and yin (soft) variants.
Dramatics-- 100% yang energy: tall, lean, strong, hard. They look angular and heavy. Typically have smaller eyes, prominent nose and chin, and thin lips.
Benedict Cumberbatch, Sean Connery, Charlton Heston, Ricardo Montalban, Errol Flyn, Daniel Craig
Soft Dramatics-- predominant yang energy with some yin added: softness and fleshiness added to their sharp, angular frame.
Dean Martin, Christian Bale, Matthew McConoughy, John Travolta, Nicholas Cage, Clark Gable
Flamboyant Naturals-- strong and hard, but with wide, blunted edges. They appear sporty or athletic: moderate to tall height, wider shoulders, and slimmer waists and hips.
Calvin Klein, Dick Van Dyke, Harrison Ford, Clint Eastwood, Tom Selleck (maybe), Michael Landon (maybe), Joe Biden
Soft Naturals-- like the FNs, they are wide, and blunted; but their width is softened by added fleshiness, appearing slightly less tall, less dense and more delicate. They sport plusher, softer cheeks, lips, torso, and thighs; and often appear "cuter" than FNs, Ds, and SDs.
Alan Alda, OJ Simpson, John Wayne, Robert Redford, Robert Conrad, Bing Crosby, Tom Cruise, George Clooney, Gene Kelly, Brad Pit, Gene Hackman
Dramatic Classics-- is an even, "average" mixture of yin and yang elements with a slightly more dominant yang presence. They have a very blended bone structure with tauter cheeks and more predominant facial features.
Carey Grant, John Ham
Soft Classics-- is an even, "average" mixture of yin and yang elements with a slightly more delicate yin presence. They have a very blended bone structure with softer lips and fleshier cheeks.
John Slattery, John Glenn, Gregory Peck, Bryant Gumbel
Romantics-- is 100% yin: smaller, shorter, softer, more delicate. No sharp angles. They appear gentler, less harsh, less "brutally" masculine than their Dramatic and Natural counterparts.
Colin Firth, Leonardo DiCaprio, Elijah Wood, Simon Baker, Richard Gere, Michael Jackson, Omar Shereef, Billy Dee Williams, Elvis Presley
Theatrical Romantics-- is 100% yin with a taut touch of yang to their features: narrow, delicate bones instead of fully-rounded, softly-widened angles.
David Kibbe, Orlando Bloom, Prince, Johnny Depp
Flamboyant Gamines-- an uneven mixture of yin and yang elements, with more pronounced yang in their angularity and sharpness. They have small, rectangular muscularity: angular facial bones, smaller shoulders and torso, some tautness to their physique.
Jimmy Kimmel, Frank Sinatra, Neil Patrick Harris
Soft Gamines-- an uneven mixture of yin and yang elements, with more pronounced yin in their rounded curves and softness. They appear the most "cute" of the types: an even smaller Gamine, with softer cheeks, softer noses, softer lips, bigger eyes, smaller hands, etc.
Fred Astaire, Robert Downy Jr.
THE MAN, THE MYTH, THE MONOTONE
Tumblr media
David's frame is dominated by prominent, long vertical lines-- dare I say, blunt edges?-- and shoulders that appear-- or are?-- wider because of his narrow waist and hips.
Using this previous post as a rough guide to map out his features, DD has pronounced yin-- softer cheeks, rounder nose, softened jawbone, softer flesh over his muscles-- but not enough to cover or dominate the long, strong bones in his frame and overall musculature.
I have my suspicions, and they swing Soft Natural (not enough T-bone shoulder to fit Flamboyant Theatrical); but let's put this theory to the test.
COMPARISON IS OUR REPRIEVE AND JOY
But you ask: how are we going to type the Man, the Myth, the Monotone without a handy dandy reference guide?
Easy peasy. We compare him to other body types and notate the differences.
David and Gamines
We're eliminating Gamines first because their shorter lines, shorter stature, and more angular or rounded bodies are in direct opposition to his longer, denser lines.
Compared to DD's wider shoulders, denser frame, and squarer facial features, Jimmy Kimmel and Lucy Liu (and TR Gillian Anderson) appear more "weightless", narrower, and more angular.
Tumblr media
Soft Gamine Winona Ryder and Halle Berry appear weightless as well; but their angular features are tempered by a layer of softness that corresponds with the fleshiness of David's face, too.
Tumblr media
David and Romantics
We have a look-a-like for this section: Richard Gere, a pure Romantic.
Compared to DD's wide shoulders, slim torso and hips, and more defined musculature (even at his skinniest), Richard is composed of rounded curves, more delicate facial and skeletal bones, and a soft layer of flesh over his torso, arms, thighs, and legs. Even at Richard's fittest, there was still a softness present in his body that could not be chiseled away or hidden.
Tumblr media
The two Romantic Type women below-- Drew Barrymore, pure Romantic; Gillian Anderson, Theatrical Romantic-- again highlight the density of David's structure, bringing out a "heavier" presence than the Gamines had previously.
Tumblr media
David and Classics
Is David a Classic Type? Frankly, no-- his bones are too long and dense to be moderate and balanced; and he, even more frankly, looks terrible in very quaffed, groomed, and buttoned-up outfits.
Compared to DD's length and width, Dramatic Classics appear more proportionate, their touch of sharpness blending in with-- not rivalling-- the balance of their frames. DC Carey Grant's more balanced edges bring out the angles in DD's face, more so than the Gamines or Romantics did.
Tumblr media
By contrast, Soft Classics' proportionate frames contain a touch of softness-- Meryl Streep's yin calls forth David's, appearing more rounded instead of angular or blunt.
Tumblr media
David and Dramatics
Compared to David, Dramatics' structure is more elongated, narrow, and angular. Dramatic Benedict Cumberbatch has sharper, more prominent features, less width across his shoulders and torso, and barely any yin to speak of in his face.
(I also suspicion Tea Leoni as a Dramatic; so sneaked her in here.)
Tumblr media
Soft Dramatics have the elongated sharpness of the Dramatics with a soft, fleshy padding over the tautness of their features. Compared to SD Christian Bale's sharpness-in-spite-of-his-softness, DD's softer, blunter edges become more obvious.
Tumblr media
David and Naturals
And last but not least, we reach the native soil of David Duchovny's body type.
Flamboyant Naturals are a close but not perfect match-- their elongated, blunt width not only matches but exceeds DD's shoulders, torso, arms, legs, and facial features. FN Harrison Ford looks denser, more muscular, and even more athletic when compared to his softer brother from a different mother.
Tumblr media
Soft Naturals: finally, David is home! Soft Naturals have the width and length of the FNs Types softened and slightly moderated by an added, pronounced yin quality. Their face, lips, arms, torso, and slim waist appear less blunt (if no less wide); and the dense musculature of their frame is less noticeable in comparison.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
LINES, SILHOUETTES, AND OTHER FASHION ADVICE
Now that David's found his SN kind, I shall pack him up a little box lunch of good wardrobe advice to take with him. ...Or that was the theory, except it is notoriously hard to get my hands on Kibbe Body Type advice for men.
Tumblr media
I shall do my best to transcribe and transform Aly Art's excerpts (here) from David Kibbe's Metamorphosis book:
"Soft Natural: it is the overall combination of the very soft yin with the yang undercurrent. Slightly soft and fleshy body type on an angular frame combined with an appealing, innocent essence.
Tumblr media
Height: moderate.... Bone structure: slightly angular bones, slightly broad shoulders, moderate to slightly short limbs, slightly leggy look also possible. Blunt or small and irregular facial contours-- nose, cheekbones, and jawline. Hands and feet are moderate and fleshy, or slightly small and wide. Body type: slightly soft..... Facial features: full and rounded. Round eyes, round eyes, full lips, soft cheeks. Nose tends small and wide; or slightly irregular, blunt or wide. If overweight, the body tends to become extremely soft and fleshy, with the waist thickening. The upper hips, arms, and thighs tend to collect excess weight most rapidly.
"Physically, you are basically angular in bone structure-- although this is softened by a fleshy body type and full facial features.... To disperse your soft yin undercurrent..., we want to develop an appearance that could best be described as fresh and sensual....
Tumblr media
"Shape: Asymmetric and irregular curves-- elongated ovals, wide circles, ellipticals, and so on. Relaxed geometrics with rounded edges, easy swirls. You might not look as good in sharp geometrics; in wide, chunky, and boxy shapes; in plain, symmetrical shapes; in overly ornate shapes.
Tumblr media
"Line and silhouette: unconstructed silhouette with shaping, particularly at waist. Relaxed lines with subtle drape and flow, particularly bias cuts.
Tumblr media
You might not look as good in wide, shapeless silhouettes; in sharp, severe silhouettes; in symmetrical silhouettes; in fitted silhouettes.
Tumblr media
"Details: details should be loose, relaxed, delicate, slightly intricate, and very creative. Any detail that suggests a bit of antique or the earth is excellent. Shoulders should not be sharp or stiff. Necklines should be loose and soft, not closed, restricted, or fussy. Simple draped necklines; soft cowls; soft notched collars; clean lapels; shawl collars; and so on. Waist should be defined, although loosely: there can be a slightly blousy effect with the top draped over the waistline, or a slightly dropped waist as long as the silhouette is fluid. Gathers and falls should be deep, full, and soft; sleeves can be full and flowing, or gently tapered at the wrist with minimum detail.
"Trim should be delicate and antique, shearing applique, and so on. You might not look as good in sharply tailored detail, in no detail, in overly fitted and fussy detail, in animated, perky detail."
Tumblr media
Conclusion
Tumblr media
David Duchovny's gonna do and wear what he's gonna do and wear. And that's just fine~.
That and I FINISHED MY 3 DAY+ KIBBE PROJECT DESPITE MANY, MANY HICCUPS ALONG THE WAY!!!!
Thanks for reading~
And take care of yourselves.

Enjoy!

Note
Headcannons. Alastair and Chase Redford.
Please.
ily rhakdbakdnw ty for the ask :D
Ok ok
Let's do this (this is based of the show plot line bc I can't remember the book plot line and I don't even think Alistair and chase were in the books)
Pausing my music for this
Ok so first how Alistair came to wonderland for a bit of background info
Heard sm1 say that smth bad was happening where he lived and his mother told him to follow a white bunny cuz she was the Alice before him
And blah blah blah he goes to wonderland and such but then he doesn't go back to where he came from bc of whatever bad is happening
I hc that he was from like our world so there's no magic from there
and he meets everyone in wonderland and becomes friends w Kitty, Maddie,Lizzie, bunny and chase
And probably at some point Alistair realizes he has feels for chase and most likely goes to Maddie to talk abt it
And Maddie is completely normal abt it cuz shit like this is normal in wonderland
but anyways when chase realizes he likes Alistair he goes to Lizzie and Lizzie is js like bro idk js ask him out?
Lmao so he does and Alistair is like gnskfbskfbns
And then they date
and they'll probably like middle school age when they start dating
(Bunny is js casually in a qpr w the rest of their wonderlandian friends (Lizzie, Maddie and Kitty))
And THEN
The land gets cursed by miss evil queen aka raven's mom lol
And the mad hatter, Lizzie , Maddie and Kitty escape
But bunny Alistair and chase don't
And the three of them basically js form a very close friendship (besides Alistair and chase) and help each other deal w their friends being gone
Alistair mostly comforts bunny when she's sad abt not being w her partners
And chase and Alistair help eachother get through it
And one day a few years later
bunny and Alistair are being the sillys that they are and exploring Wonderland for the 5th time that week
And they find the story book of legends and such, blah blah y'all know what happened w that and the Cheshire cat kitty's mom
And cue them trying to figure out ever after high bc this place is so weird
And people hitting on both Alistair and bunny and their oblivious asses js not noticing 😭😭
Anyways everyone thinks they're a couple bc even tho everyone in wonderland acts like that w their friends it's not normal in ever after
But bunny gets reunited w her partners:D
And now Alistair is separated from his
And they're co-dependant on eachother so neither of them take it well
I'm sorry ( no I'm not) but Alistair would 100% go off on headmaster grimm for being rude to him or any of his friends
Alistair is just going of at grimm with a bunch of wonderland cusses and our world cusses (lmao this is the real reason why grimm doesn't like Alistair)
But anyways
Alistair seeing darling and being like oh hi darling! 🥰 bc darling has 100% caught Alistair almost getting killed by some of the cards and helped him out lol
Anyways the rumors that bunny and Alistair are dating went away when Alistair mentioned his boyfriend and Maddie kissed bunny in the cafeteria lol
But then imagine w the wonderland episodes
They would probably go differently lol
w/ chase helping the girls bc that's his bsfs
alistair would be so happy to see chase again when raven broke the curse on wonderland
But anyways
They all lived happily ever after
Anyways
Alistair is a very fidgety person and also has anxiety and ADHD (and panic attacks)
And chase has sensory overloads and anxiety attacks (he has autism and anxiety)
(Cuz I said so got both of the last two bullets)
Alistair gives asexual vibes and probably js gay
And chase give demiromantic and maybe bi??? Idk
Chase is indecisive as fuck and Alistair is impulsive as fuck
They balance eachother out
Alistair rambles so much
And he doesn't think most of his friends listen
But then Chase will remember smth he said in a ramble a whil ago and alistair is ill js be like :D
Chase calls Alistair, Ali and he says he hates the nickname but he secretly loves it
Alistair is lalalala and chase is okokokok
Alistair gets sick so easily it's not even funny anymore
Chase takes care of him when he's sick
Alistair is the friend that has a bag w literally anything and everything in it
(Lizzie made it and Maddie somehow made it like her hat where you can take anything out of it)
Alistair is an introvert that acts like an extrovert and then he goes and hangs out w chase and is silent for like 3 hours as he recharges w his bf
They take naps together:) <3
Alistair steals chase's clothes bc chase is taller so they're rlly baggy on him and he likes that lol
Chase more often than not has earbuds or headphones on to block out noise
chase is the kind of person that you'd think would be rlly scary and then you see him curled up on a couch with Alistair and it's js like oh!
Also the kind of person that everyone things is homophobic and then it turns out he has a boyfriend
Alistair makes playlists for all his friends and has made so so many for chase lol
Alistair gives trans vibes tbh like ftm yk?
idk what chase is but there's no way he's cis
Alr that's all I can think of

From the depth: Crying Steel, inarrestabili
Contesto storico culturale
IN ITALIA
Completamente ignorato, pur con otto candidature, lo splendido “The elephant man”.
Ad aprile 2013 esce Time Stands Steel, sempre per My Graveyard Production.

The private life of Steve McQueen you may not know about
Iconic actor, martial artist, and car and bike enthusiast Steve McQueen was a perfect fit for the counterculture era, rising up as a true embodiment of the antihero archetype.
McQueen's seemingly effortless cool was underscored in films like "The Great Escape," "The Cincinnati Kid," "The Thomas Crown Affair," and "Bullitt." The actor introduced a new image for a Hollywood leading man: unconventional, rebellious, and ruggedly handsome.
The actor's on-screen rebel persona matched who he was in real life. Born March 24, 1930, McQueen never quite escaped the damage of his volatile, unmoored childhood. He spent his adulthood ensconced in risky behavior and a life of excess, from fast vehicles and illicit substances to numerous, storied affairs. The McQueen actor was known for outlandish demands on set, including losing a starring role in ″Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid″ to Robert Redford because McQueen wouldn't sign on without having top billing over Paul Newman. He made complaints about lines and costumes, and, several times, filming had to be delayed because McQueen was inebriated on narcotics or alcohol (or both). Other times, he turned down roles in films that stand today as masterpieces, such as "Apocalypse Now," "Dirty Harry," and "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest."
McQueen also allegedly abused his wives and lovers. In her memoir "My Husband, My Friend," McQueen's first wife Neile Adams outlined persistent emotional and physical abuse. Further allegations suggest the same treatment was meted out to McQueen's second wife, Ali MacGraw.
Early in his career, McQueen got his hands on Harley-Davidson and Triumph motorcycles. By the early 1950s, while living in New York City and studying acting, McQueen began traveling to Long Island on the weekends to compete in motorcycle races. His winnings each week totaled around $100, more than $1,000 in today's money.
Steve McQueen was born in Indiana on March 24, 1930. His mother was a sex worker, and his father was a circus stuntman who left McQueen's mom within six months of meeting her. Unable to cope with parenthood, by 1933 she had left her young son with her parents in Missouri.
During the 14 months, he was enrolled at the California Junior Boys Republic at Chino, McQueen was put into solitary confinement five times. He later said he relied on those memories while acting in "the cooler" scenes in 1963's "The Great Escape."
McQueen was 17 when he enlisted in the Marine Corps. It was there that he learned to use some of the weapons utilized in fight scenes throughout his filmography—including guns, knives, and his hands for street-fighting. During his service, he was promoted to Private First Class but demoted to private seven separate times for various offenses, including using a weekend pass to meet up with a girlfriend for two weeks. During a training exercise in the Arctic, the ship hit a sandbank and threw some people into the water, where many drowned. McQueen jumped in and rescued five Marines. He was honorably discharged in 1950.
After being discharged from the Marines, McQueen kept many odd jobs, including serving as a getaway driver for robbers, working as a pimp, and selling illegal handguns. He eventually decided to change tack and headed to New York for acting school. He used money from the G.I. Bill to enroll at the famed Neighborhood Playhouse in 1951.
Neile Adams, a Broadway dancer, married the then-struggling actor in 1956. She later wrote that their mutually, painful childhoods helped them understand each other. Neile also said she was aware of McQueen's drug problem very early on and that McQueen demonstrated extreme jealousy that manifested at times as physical violence. Meanwhile, he was a known philanderer who carried on many affairs and flings.
The couple had two children together: Terry Leslie McQueen (1959–1998) and Chad McQueen (born in 1960). Neile filed for divorce in 1971. McQueen's acting career began in 1952 with a half-hour television commercial for the Bell Telephone Company. The young actor was eager to take on any roles he could get and jumped at the opportunity to star in a campy horror flick. The movie turned out to be the surprise 1958 sci-fi hit thriller "The Blob." Aneta Corsaut, who later co-starred on "The Andy Griffith Show" as Helen Crump, co-starred. McQueen earned $3,000 for his part in the film.
While filming "The Magnificent Seven," McQueen took his co-star Robert Vaughn to a Mexican brothel, where they imbibed numerous margaritas, stayed all night, and left without paying (McQueen was notorious for never carrying cash). Years later, Vaughn recounted the story and said he was sure the two were lucky to have escaped a beating, if not death.
To pull off the stunt, Elkins employed a modification to the seat to protect his body during the 60-foot jump. McQueen provided most of the funding required to form the first authentic Team USA at the International Six Day Trials (ISDT) in 1964, held in Erfurt, Germany, at the height of the Cold War. The team was composed of McQueen, Bud and Dave Ekins, Cliff Coleman, and John Steen. In a proud moment for the star, McQueen had the distinction of carrying the "Stars and Stripes" for the U.S. team at the opening ceremony.
In the 1965 movie "Baby, The Rain Must Fall," McQueen portrayed a fledgling rockabilly singer. His co-star was Lee Remick. In one scene where McQueen's character "Henry" is singing in a bar, an uncredited Glen Campbell is accompanying him.
1965's "The Cincinnati Kid" starred McQueen along with entertainers such as Cab Calloway and Ann-Margret. McQueen was a traveling card harpist. McQueen earned an Oscar nomination for Best Actor for his role as a rebellious naval engineer named Jake Holman in the military drama "The Sand Pebbles." The screenplay was adapted from a 1962 Richard McKenna novel of the same name. McQueen starred alongside Richard Attenborough, Candice Bergen, Richard Crenna, and others.
Bruce Lee, who moved his family from Seattle, Washington, to Los Angeles in 1996, took a starring role in the superhero series "The Green Hornet." Lee also opened a martial arts school in Los Angeles, where he taught many celebrities the craft, including Steve McQueen. The two men had a storied friendship that lasted for years; when Lee died in 1973, two funerals were held. McQueen, who notoriously hated funerals (and had avoided Sharon Tate's), flew to Seattle to attend the second funeral.
In the 1968 thriller "The Thomas Crown Affair," McQueen starred with Faye Dunaway in her follow-up film to her debut, "Bonnie & Clyde." The movie was filmed in Boston and was one of the first to generously employ split or quadruple screens.
McQueen met Jay Sebring and Sharon Tate while hanging out at the Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood in the 1960s. On the night Tate and Sebring were murdered by Charles Manson's followers, McQueen had plans to meet them for dinner at Tate and Roman Polanski's house but ended up being unable to go. Following the murders, McQueen began carrying a loaded gun on him at all times.
In the 1970 Twelve Hours of Sebring motorsport endurance race, McQueen drove with a cast on his left foot—he'd been in a motorcycle accident two weeks earlier. He competed in the three-liter class in a Porsche 908/02. The actor lost the overall title by a matter of seconds to Mario Andretti.
In 1971, McQueen starred in the poorly received auto-racing drama "Le Mans." Despite its lackluster reception, it features McQueen doing much of his own driving and stunts.
In 1971, McQueen's production company funded the motorsports documentary "On Any Sunday." McQueen was also present for significant changes in the industry, including compensation for a share of the box office receipts from their films.
Also in 1971, McQueen appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated magazine riding a Husqvarna dirt bike. In the colorful profile within, McQueen recounts biking through Hurricane Audrey en route to Florida in the late 1950s before a cycle tour of Cuba.
McQueen was arrested for drunk driving in Alaska in 1972. The actor posted bail before heading out of town. Over his lifetime, there were many instances where the risk-taking driver stood on the verge of losing his license for a variety of moving violations.
In 1972's caper flick "The Getaway," McQueen was paired with Ali MacGraw. The two were married in 1973. Their marriage was tumultuous (to say the least)—McQueen was known to have kept a suite at the Beverly Wilshire in Los Angeles for various trysts, along with disappearing for days at a time to party with the local Hell's Angels chapter. The couple divorced in 1978, and MacGraw never remarried.
In 1973, The Rolling Stones included McQueen in the risque lyrics to their song "Star Star," off their album "Goats Head Soup." In 1973, The Rolling Stones included McQueen in the risque lyrics to their song "Star Star," off their album "Goats Head Soup."
In 1974, McQueen joined a galaxy of Hollywood stars in the first blockbuster feature, "The Towering Inferno." When producer Irwin Allen recruited McQueen and Paul Newman for the film, McQueen's management stipulated that neither celebrity would get higher billing than the other. All marketing materials for the film, therefore (on posters and the like), present McQueen's name first, with Newman's never appearing higher than a half-letter above McQueen's.
McQueen was Steven Spielberg's first choice for the character of Roy Neary in the 1977 film "Close Encounters of the Third Kind." McQueen turned the part down, telling the director he was unable to cry on cue.
McQueen was inducted into the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame in 1978. The distinction honors his long-time participation in off-road motorsports and his involvement in helping to get the very first organized off-road competitions off the ground. Among the vehicles he raced were various motorcycles, Chevy pickups, and the infamous "Baja Boot."
Former fashion model Barbara Minty met McQueen in July 1977 after the actor saw her in an advertisement. McQueen had his agent set up a meeting with her; the two were married on Jan. 16, 1980.
McQueen's mesothelioma diagnosis in 1979 was likely due to his asbestos exposure. In the Marines, he repaired asbestos insulation, and while racing, he wore asbestos-lined suits. He was told the cancer was untreatable. Seeking a cure, McQueen headed to Mexico for experimental treatments that ultimately didn't work. He was 50 when he died on November 7, 1980. The ashes of the King of Cool were scattered over the Pacific Ocean.

Venho com Filme Uma caminhada na floresta/ Por Aqui e Por Ali (A Walk in the Woods) (2015).

NOTE: This video will not play for those outside of the UK.
“Sebastian, you’re Bucky Barnes, AKA The Winter Soldier - how the heck did that happen?”
Sebastian: “I don’t know - I really don’t know. 2010 was definitely a turning point in my life, and it was getting this part. And it was all still speculative at the time because we had a lot of, uh, a lot of talks and meetings about the potential of this character and what he would become; whether or not he would ever be even explored as the Winter Soldier at the time. It was just more about the success of Captain America: The First Avenger and, and , and how much that story in itself worked. The fact that we were able to get it this far is, you know, a huge success, but it’s definitely something that’s attributed to many factors and, you know, I think there was always a plan there, but there were many times along the road I didn’t quite know how it was going to happen, or if it was gonna happen. It’s always kind of like an on-going discovery; I think people think we know a lot more about these things, but I think one of - one of the good things about Marvel is that the are always remaining very flexible and reflective of the times and what the fans respond to, and what’s the most interesting storyline, and what feels right, and then that’s kinda where decisions get made. So now we’re here - ten years later.”
“I’m loving it, yeah. So just to be clear; it started off as just Bucky. Apparently, the story goes that you only realised you were playing The Winter Soldier when the title was announced in 2013.”
Sebastian: “Yep; that - that also, uh, I think, I think the way I really learned about it was my, uh - a - I had a friend who texted me from Comic Con (interviewer laughs quietly) saying ‘Dude, they’ve just relay - the, the, the people your name’s in the title, and I was like ‘Oh. I mean that’s, I guess I’m, that’s - that’s good, that means that I’m in the movie, right? (interviewer laughs quietly) I mean -’ So, yeah, that’s very also true.”
“And talking of titles, was there ever any conversation about the show being called The Winter Soldier and The Falcon?”
Sebastian: “You know, first of all, I’ve already had my name in a title of a movie, you know - ”
“Ah, yes.”
Sebastian: “Arguably, Falcon we haven’t really ever learned his backstory period, I mean, you know, it’s - it’s a tough one to argue because I technically have had two movies dedicated to my character (laughs). So in a way I feel like, you know, it really should be about the Falcon, to be honest.”
“You gotta give him a leg up, that guy, Anthony Mackie.”
Sebastian: “Sometimes he might need a hell of a lot more than that. He’s got the legs covered, I’ll tell you that. (interviewer laughs) I mean the guy doesn’t skip leg day but - ”
“No Sir. And how happy are you now that you don’t have to wear the mask and the goggles anymore?”
Sebastian: (laughs) No, I kinda liked the mask. I, I - I was always a little bit hesitant of the goggles because when you have the goggles, you don’t have the, the eyes and so like as an actor, you wanna use the eyes, right? But the mask was kind of a cool thing because I knew what the Winter Soldier had looked like in the comic books, I knew - but any, you know and again, we had tried the eyeliner and, and that was sort of an interesting, bold choice and fortunately we decided to kind of maybe not use it, uh, so much, although it had made sense at one point that he had been - you know, he’d been using that; but it - that was just a - a nod to the comics, when he has the actual (motions across his eyes) you know, but again, the mask made the characters so much more brutal and sort of machine like and then that kind of informed a little bit of how, how I was gonna play that role at the time, so it was kind of a cool thing. I’m always a believer less is more and all that stuff, which is again why I was really worried this time around, I was like ‘ don’t, don’t give me, don’t give me too many - too many words (interviewer laughs quietly) because, (laughs) because I’ve been a lot better without a lot of words.’ So now if we’re gonna say something - what are we gonna say, you know?”
“What - who am I?”
Sebastian: ”Always the question, my friend. It never ends.” (laughs)
“You’ve worked with some utterly incredible people in these movies over the years. I was wondering who intimidated you the most because back in the day, you once told me this story of what happened to you when you first shot a scene with THE Robert Redford.”
Sebastian: “Oh man, that was such a good dream come true. All I wanted was to ask him about everything (interviewer laughs quietly) that he had ever experienced, and he was so kind. And yeah, I mean you work with these actors and you sort of kind of start to see how they do it, and I think I was always very lucky because I felt, you know, the Captain America trilogies and, and storylines were always very grounded, it’s really after like the most relatable storyline. Robert Redford got to be Robert Redford, with all that intensity, in our movie, um you know, that was the same guy from 3 Days Of Condor and stuff, and so like, you know, he really sort of was perfect in that part.”
“I - I know you’ve explained this a million times on a thousand different interviews, but indulge me. How does that metal arm work on set and how has that process evolved over the years?”
Sebastian: “Well the arm itself has changed. The first arm was really, really difficult to work with, in fact, it - we had to have like, it broken in two pieces because the one piece in itself, like the hero one, the particular material that shined and was the most - that looked the most metal was, was a really hard material so I couldn’t even like (motions moving arm) - just getting it to, to use it was like, extremely difficult. But again, that also informed sort of a kind of a behavior of the character in a way and I, and I remember refusing to, to wear the le - the, the the less shiny one. I wanted the hard, uncomfortable material because that was - was gonna look the best. And then as we went, obviously once he got a new arm, - every time they, they mold them again, based on your body; it’s all very specific to you. And then this particular one was the most flexible one, and again, it’s like one piece; obviously it can’t be a whole full on arm, right, ‘cos otherwise how are you going to get into it? - but it was the most, uh, comfortable one. But yeah, I still find myself sometimes catering to the old one, you know, ‘cos it just had such a specific shine to it and it was so iconic in the comic books so um -. But yeah, its, it’s a whole thing and, and it, it does do something to you after a while because you are essentially working your left arm more - ”
“Yeah.”
Sebastian: “ - I mean, it’s, it’s a very tiny, tiny difference, like your body knows when it’s saying ‘Hey, that’s working a lot more.’ So, (laughs) so physically, I’ve definitely, uh, had some love wounds from the - from, from my partner in crime - the, the left arm.”
“Now we know Captain America: The Winter Soldier is a favourite amongst the cast of the MCU - the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and I know that ‘cos they’ve actually told me so. And you’ve had some really special, emotional scenes over the years, like the ‘with you till the end of the line’ scene with Steve for example, and one of my favourites - ‘Who the hell is Bucky?’ And I love that your character is actually introduced in the very first film, your first scene, by knocking out a bad guy and then turning around and kicking him in the backside - I just love that. What are your standout moments over the movies?”
Sebastian: “As an actor you always want - you always want to do a movie that’s a period movie and a period movie in the 40′s was always really fun; the idea of it. I loved those, those scenes that he had with Steve Rogers in the first movie ‘cos they were so innocent but also in a way like really established their dynamic. And then of course The Winter Soldier movie was really incredible for me because I got to do so many cool things, and again it was not on a, on a green screen. We were really on a bridge - I was given a 35 pound thing to fire with. It was all very practical to be doing that kind of action.”
“The knife-stuff alone - ”
Sebastian: “The knife stuff. We had a good two months to get down to the hand-to-hand combat, so again, stuff I’d never done, so the character was really cool to me, and I loved all those, all those pieces. So there have been moments all throughout that kind of all add up i, in terms of really having enjoyed playing the character, From an acting perspective, you know, to play, uh, a character that seemingly could always go dark is interesting and fun, and it was a complex character like that. But then I think going forward it was more a good question of ‘What are we gonna really explore with him now?’”
“Hmmm.”
Sebastian: “And finding a way to - to marrying both sides of this character and, and kind of having and witnessing how, how he’s able to accept the past and, and claim his sort of dark Winter Soldier past and side, and, and then evolve forward. Because he’s never gonna be the man he was back in the 40′s and he’s certainly not gonna be the guy that was this assassin. So what is he gonna be now, you know, and how is he gonna figure out a way to  - to grow from that?”
“For sure. I love the bits with the therapist in the first episode. It makes me think - you know the bit in Infinity War where you pick up Rocket and use him as like a moving machine gun?”
Sebastian: (with a laugh) “Yeah.”
“Are you bringing that up with the therapist? Surely there’s gotta be a moment where you go: ‘There were these alien dogs attacking me - and just -’ ”
Sebastian: “Well yeah, right? That, that would be a good thing to talk about. Because, I remember in, in that particular moment, which was a very cool moment, and it was fun, but we were sitting there with the Russo’s in Infinity War trying to figure out what his humor was and like, how does that character now respond to a talking raccoon, you know?”
“I’ll leave you with these two wrap-up questions. What do fans typically say to you in the street when the spot you? Do you get lines quoted back at you: ‘End of the line?’ Do you get people quoting: ‘Longing, rusted, seventeen, daybreak, furnace, nine, benign, homecoming, one, freight car?’”
Sebastian: (with a sigh) It happens quite often. (interviewer laughs) It happens at, uh you know, coffee shops and uh, it - it happens a lot, you know, and, and it’s always very, uh, it’s always very funny. And it’s a good, hon - honorable thing, you know, I guess. You know you’re, you’re very taken with it all - all the time but - it, you do have to sometimes look at people in the face and say ‘No, I will - I will not become The Winter Soldier’ as you say that, you know? (interviewer laughs quietly) You can keep saying it, and maybe you should say it, um, maybe that’s a moment we both need to have together, now, here. But, uh, but nothing crazy will happen, uh, you know?’”
“Er, I’d like to apologise and say goodbye, which is it was with me where we decided your fans were gonna be called The Winter’s Children, back in the day.”
Sebastian: “It was, wasn’t it? Well that really stuck didn’t it?”
“Yep. I can only apologise. And - ”
Sebastian: No, it’s all good. I’m glad - I’m glad that stuck around.”
“And obviously as the White Wolf, I should say ‘Wakanda Forever’, so thank you so much Sir.”
Sebastian: “Hey, thank you man.”
