after i sang that awful service tonight, i was able to catch the very end of my synagogue’s kabbalat shabbat service, just as we got to the mourner’s kaddish. i said kaddish for the hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of jews who have died over the last 2000 years because of christian antisemitism. i said kaddish for my ancestors who lived and died in secret. i think we forget just how enormous a disaster the inquisition was. until the holocaust, it was the single most devastating event in jewish history since the romans destroyed the temple and scattered a large portion of the jewish population into the diaspora. and i cannot express how deeply it bothers me that christians think they no longer have to contend with antisemitism because they can employ someone like me to do their music, but then expect someone like me to sit through a retelling of a story that directly inspired the murder of countless jews over thousands of years. murder at the hands of their ancestors and under the banner of their god. to hear the word “jew” come out of their mouths so many times with such vitriol. and to know that none of them have any idea. it’s. depressing.

(tags about media blaming women rejecting the columbine shooters for the shooting) I mean these tags aren't entirely incorrect but to say the mothers had nothing to do with the mindset of the shooters is wrong. sue klebold practically started a movement in her murderer son's name that painted him as a victim and has helped shape an inaccurate, sympathetic view of school shooters. so obviously this is not a mother who would see disturbing behavior from her son and be concerned he could be a threat to others. instead, she appears to always have seen him as a victim. that sort of mindset creates a sense of entitlement.

the reason i'm bringing this up is not to blame women for columbine but because this is a repetitive issue we need to address at some point. columbine is not the only case where a mother has protected and defended her son over victims--I mentioned before there's a case where a son kills his LITTLE SISTER and his mother still paints him as a victim. and for many daughters, their mothers are their first bullies. of course for school shooters there are more factors involved, like a lot are revealed to be white supremacists. this is additional entitlement from their societal position and a lot are also 'copycats' of other shooters with the same views.

Do u think Kratos was sad when atreus started doing things (like climbing and getting up on tall ledges) by himself....

i don't think he would admit it outwardly but i think he would hesitate for a moment if Atreus was suddenly climbing up ahead of him instead of clambering onto his back.

Atreus would ask if he's coming, and Kratos would grumble, or not even say anything at all and follow. But suddenly climbing doesn't feel right. He feels too light, and it's all so strange. He doesn't have the words for it - can't bring himself to accept the persistent feeling of melancholy as they make it attop the ledge they were scaling.

This “holiday” was created to commemorate the anniversary of Hawai‘i’s admission into the United States of America.

This holiday is a sham.

The Kingdom of Hawai‘i was illegally overthrown by American businessman who had the help of U.S Minister John Stevens and the threat of American troops. They forcefully overtook our nation, and declared themselves the new provisional government of Hawai‘i.

Later our nation was made a territory, and in 1959, under the Hawai‘i Admission Act, we were admitted as a state.

There is no treaty of annexation between the Kingdom of Hawai‘i and America. We have not given up our sovereignty. Our kingdom was forcefully overthrown and stolen from us.

Hawai‘i is an illegally occupied nation under the iron fist of the United States.

Statehood supports American greed.

Statehood supports the unsustainable tourism and development of our `āina.

Statehood supports the harmful commercialization of my people and our way of life.

Statehood has allowed the Navy to poison our water again and again.

Statehood has allowed my people to needlessly suffer and die.

Statehood has stripped us of our identities and our nation.

We have fought hard to endure under the occupation of America. We have pushed forward with a cultural rebirth, trying hard to keep our fading traditions alive, but we can only go so far without our sovereignty.
