Have you ever considered the fact that maybe Ben's voice doesn't sound bad at all? That his voice might be SIMPLY NORMAL??
Look-
Vocal cords normally take 2-6 weeks to start healing and making hearable voice again, even with injuries, they may take few months, BUT when the patient is -18, VOCAL CORDS HAVE THE HIGHEST CHANCE OF HEALING PERFECTLY-
Also keep in mind that at that time he hadn't enter his puberty yet, and - as you know - voice changes once you start it, it's not just that his vocal cords healed while growing, it's the reality that he WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ABLE TO KEEP HIS OLD VOICE ANYWAYS.
Even if his current voice sounds a little deeper than the others, it's probably just his genes ( I mean have you seen his dad?)
Like, He was too stubborn to give his voice another chance , too unsure to love it again, TOO ANGRY TO GIVE IT A TRY.
Maybe he just built his own cage by his own hands.,.

Tumblr media
Here's this little piece of information
Do what you want with it.
(LOGAN AND MAVERICK ARE RELATED THEORY??? MOREOVER, MAVEY IS LOGAN'S FATHER????????????GASP)
prob mean Logan's mom is the grandparent's child, since Ricky over here looks nothing like them (from what I can really observe....)
CARAMIA
(I had the idea Maverick lost a lover to the rift or whatever, something along those lines, and oddly enough I imagined her with blondish hair. Now I can cutely change it to Logan's hair color, and boom, theory connects <3)
Just imagine Maverick going to all the kid's rooms to convince em, except Logan, bc he knows he is his son, and just can't bare facing him, not after what happened to his wife.

Rift Theory
TW: mentions of suicide and blood
So, we all kinda know that rifts form in places with a dark history like the Sorrel Weed House, where two people committed suicide, or the abandoned building where Ashlyn was born that I'm assuming is a school given that they're a very common spot for suicide. So we know death has something to do with rifts forming.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But what causes them to open? I have a theory that has like zero evidence but I feel like blood has something to do with it.
Essentially, I think that you need to spill some blood in order to open and close a rift once you're at the location. Emma bled during birth in the real world, which is when the rift opened. Then Mike got cut and started bleeding too in the shadow dimension so the rift closed.
Ashlyn got cut by the phantom in the shadow dimension before the rift closed too. So, given that Jasmine said she opened the rift to drag Ashlyn in, she probably cut her hand or something to do it.
Maybe because it was Ashlyn (who already had a special connection with the shadow dimension due to being born there) that closed the rift the second time that it didn't close properly and dragged the others in as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is legit only based on these two pictures so I'm probably wrong but it's fun to theorize.

What Chip's current condition may possibly mean for both him and the crew (a theory of sorts)
Spoilers for ep. 109 and 110. Heed the warning.
Okay, so ever since ep. 109 came out I've been frantically reading about undead and what does it mean for your pc to be undead. I stayed silent about it, cause I wasn't sure if Nik could fix this, but now that ep. 110 is out I'd like to share some of the things I found, for folks like me, who do not know much abt DnD yet.
So, in a long list of features the undead have, most prominent problem is how hard it is to heal them. None of Jay's or Gillion's spells can heal Chip now, we'd need a spell that normally damages people, like necromancy spells, since they have a reverse efffect on the undead, and none of them has access to that currently. Not only that, once Chip's health reaches zero at this state, that's it. No death saves, no going unconscious or going down. That's it, which is why the moment he turned undead, Jay started spamming the temporary HP canon. So Chip doesn't lose any of his core health pool. If he did die in this state, from then on, only a spell called Wish (if I'm not mistaken a lvl 9 Sorcerer wish, so Gillion could do that if he cranked up three more levels in sorcery real quick) or True Ressurection could save him. But these two spells would also bring Chip back to life as a regular person, not the undead, so it would be cool to seek out someone who could do that for them at the most convenient time.
To balance it out, Chip is resistant to a shit ton of attack types, including poison, physical, necrotic and many other. To top it off with Chip's evasion skills, I'm giving him good chances to either minimalize or negate most damage in this form. And well, considering everything, he'd be wise to take every opportunity to do so, joke damage taking is no longer an option, I think. Also Gillion needs to be very careful with radiant damage around Chip, cause it's very effective on the undead. Chip getting hit by Gillion's strike may damage him greatly, and the two need to be very careful around each other from now on :(((
And the most interesting thing I found is the Undead Hunger variant. Some undead can just live on for centuries and be fine without a need to feed on something. But some, even the intelligent ones like Chip, may need a bit more than that, and given that very ominous intelligence check Grizzly made him roll at the end of the day, I'm thinking he's implementing the hunger rule on Chip. Lemme tell you a bit about it.
So Undead Hunger is a Variant Rule that DMs use on player characters that are undead sometimes. And that means that once in a while Chip would have to feed on some sort of specific type of morsel to satisfy his craving, or suffer the cosequences. There are two variants of undead that can make roll for this: Inescapable Craving or Diet Dependent. The player in that case rolls for willpower, which DMs usually make a wisdom or intelligence check. In our case Grizzly chose intelligence, and Chip passed with a 19. The DC for Inescapably Craving Undead is 25, but the DC for Diet Dependent Undead is 15. So from that I deduced that Chip would be a Diet Dependent Undead, since he passed the roll.
Hunger for the Undead is like addiction to the living. This means that unless Chip can resist it with a succesful roll, he may become more agressive, anxious, violent or even self-destructive the longer he is denied a preferred meal. If he can't eat, he'll have to roll for keeping himself at bay every three days. He doesn't have to roll if he eats.
So you may ask now: what happens if he fails one to many times? This is the interesting part. So if Chip fails his once per three days intelligence check, the DM will make him take ability damage. That means that one of his stats (wisdom, strength, dexterity etc.) will reduce by a whatever number Grizzly sees fit (Chip can get all the lost points back the moment he eats). In the guide I've read it says that wisdom is the most crucial ability score to lose, tho I'm unsure if the DM takes away only from wisdom or if he can take any of the stats, I may need to read more on that. But the thing is, the more rolls Chip fails, the more wisdom he may loose, and please note, Chip does not have much wisdom to begin with (but he does have high intelligence so thank the gods for that at least).
The less wisdom Chip has, the more desperate he gets when it comes to eating. He may start seeking out more risky ways to get fed or do things he normally wouldn't to get it. Hunger can't kill him though, it may just make him lose himself (hence that comment of Grizzly's about him needing to hold onto his sense of self, at least that's what I think that is). Once Chip reaches wisdom score 0, Bizzly actually loses control over him, and Grizzly takes over Chip and he plays Chip as he was a wild enemy beast. In that state Chip can throw himself on anyone or anything that can provide him food, his mind completely lost. He can hurt others, attack his crew. He can do anything the DM determines a starved mindless beast would do.
He can come back to his senses once more, when he does feed on whatever is decided his preferred meal is, all his wisdom regained and all, but the consequences of his actions, when he was not himself, the dreadful realisation that he is now a monster, who needs to be kept in check so he doesn't hurt the people he loves...This may be a lot for Chip to take. If this were to happen, he'll need a lot of his crewmates' support and reassurance, and a lot of honesty will be demanded from Chip. He'd have to warn people around him and make sure everyone knows how he's feeling, if he needs help in finding food. Casue hiding this hunger may result in tragedy.
And of course, it doesn't help that they are where they are now. In any case, if Grizz decides that Chip's favourite meal is humanoid flesh (beyond cruel is what that would be), they are fucked, basically. If it is the flesh of any other creature or animal, well they are also fucked, because they are in a motherfucking Black Sea, so good luck finding anything consumable like this either way.
But hey, of course do remeber that in the end these are just my conclusions based on what I read. Grizzly might not be even using any of these rules, cause he's the DM and he can do whatever he wants. I just thought that based on what we saw, this is very likely to happen (consider it a theory of mine for the time being). If you would like to read more about it, I'll leave you the link to this one really good website that I found most of the information on. I can't confirm its relaibility, but it looks very informative, comprehensive and thought out, and thus far was the most thorough source I found, so I'm personally willing to trust it. But please do find out for yourself. That'll be it, see you and I hope you had fun reading!

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!
Tags written out by the wonderful @dinzeeyz !!! They explained here what is ACTUALLY happening to Chip, not a theory, facts from the boys themselves! Please make sure to read them!!!
Tumblr media
Well, there it is folks! Of course, I do not mind that I was wrong! The fun part in theorizing is not being right or wrong, but the journey one takes to find out the truth! And the truth is SO much more horrifying than I could ever think! You see, I was kinda thinking abt ways for Chip to still function while undead, but there is NO FUNCTIONING WHATSOEVER APPARENTLY. Grizzly's not playing, and the prospect of losing Chip forever is real oh dear OMG, that's absolutely insane!!! Please feel welcome to discuss this, I'll be definitely making more posts about this once I have a little more time but holy shit guys. We need to fix that boy up F A S T. If we lose Chip, I'm not recovering-

Post-RCM Kim (steals but no one is there to tell him No) keeps the kineema and runs a taxi service out of it. Feedback is mixed. You will always get where you want to go To The Second but will be subjected to the craziest Italian-on-crack-style roadrage driving imaginable. You will see god whether you’re religious or not. Kim is always polite and is basically silent the entire time. Some love him, swear by his skill, and rely on him when they’re running late. Some will vomit in the provided vomit-bag Kim keeps in the back seats and never call for his service again. Joyriding incidents decrease bc the local teens just get this one taxi guy to take them home from their party as fast as possible. And believe me when I say. As. Fast. As. Possible.

So we know what happens when someone dies in the phantom realm, right?
But what if someone dies in real life? What if following similar logic, they are still alive and "well" in the phantom realm?
It think something like that could become a deal breaker for the kids when it comes to getting out of the realm. Because they'd know that once they will, they won't be able to talk to that person ever again. They'll stay in the phantom realm. Maybe they can't even kill themselves once the rest leaves, maybe the rules for dying in the phantom realm stay the same? Running away from phantoms, hurting but not dying and no living soul around... sounds like a fate worse then death.

chat i may be stupid i was rereading chapter 66 and I noticed when Logan and Aiden were talking abt the video game they were playing in Ash's dream Logan said, "Go to the basement and move the box there's a hidden crawlspace". I was wondering if this could be foreshadowing something? Or maybe it's jsut video game yapping. I'm not a fast pass reader so feel free to bully me if this stupid but no spoilers !!

A lot of people are theorising that it will be revealed that Ashlyn was imagining all her friends and that she made it all up, and as interesting as that could be I honestly would be so disappointed if that was the case…
No offence of course to Red or the people theorising, I just personally think it would be kinda anti climactic and upsetting as a reveal.
Also my English teachers #1 rule is “never end a story with ‘I woke up and it was all a dream’” and I feel like that’s border lining on that as it would mean all the things they went through together, the deaths, the feelings, none of it was real, it was all in her head.
I also just don’t really think it’s actually canon for many reasons. For example, we see quite a bit of other people perspectives where Ashlyn is not present, also the whole Aiden having feelings for her thing. If she was imagining Aiden’s feelings I feel like she would probably be more accepting of them, where as she tends to be unsure of the way he acts.
This is just my opinions I love hearing theories pls don’t attack me😭🙏

Guys i have a Theory imagine if the Shadows of the sbg kids aren't theirs, and are in fact Phantoms bc in the phantom dimension they are far away from their bodies and maybe that's why they act strange sometimes??! Like in here
Tumblr media
We can see something strange about the Shadow
Tumblr media
Here too
.... And that's all silly thoughts

I feel like Ashlyn and her parents WERENT dragged into a rift on the night of her birth, actually. Based on the way rifts work with the sbg kids and their injuries not transferring over from one dimension to the other, I guess I could see how Ash got her hearing altered as a tiny baby if she was fully born in the phantom dimension, because there wasn’t any body of hers to shift back to when the rift closed so the hearing damage copied over from the ‘original’. But there’s a discrepancy with the idea that I haven’t seen anyone point out yet: Mike.
He did not have his iconic facial scar before the encounter!
Tumblr media
If this attack happened in the phantom dimension, then logically, the wound would have disappeared when they shifted back into the human reality.
So either there was something different about the nature of this rift than the one in the weed sorrel house, or, in my opinion: the Banners didn’t shift at all that night.
Tumblr media
This is the first panel where a phantom shows up, and based on the red lighting, you could infer that they went into the phantom realm. BUT, the lighting at the abandoned building doesn’t have a solid blue to solid red chromatic abberation, like shifts are indicated earlier. Instead, there’s a much more gentle gradient.
Tumblr media
Combined with the lack of the 3-D effect on the family, and Mike’s permanent facial scar as well as Ashlyn’s hyperacutitus being present always, not just when reality thins out, I don’t think they went into the phantom dimension at all! Instead:

I really wanna talk about this scene where “Logan saves Ashlyn” because I really believe it’s more than just that
I’m gonna be referencing mostly episodes 34, 35, 43, and 44 just in case you want to do your own digging 😋!
for starters I kinda bugs me when people brush this whole scene off as ‘Logan saving ash’ because 3 things:
1.) Logan saving Ashlyn didn’t really feel natural! mans was allllll the way in the graveyard, he was scared, it was dark, and he didn’t have any prior experience with using guns. but he still somehow did it in 1 shot. I honestly feel like that bit was so that he can’t be excluded from the later celebration and so that him being left behind had a purpose.
2.) ASHLYN WOULDVE SURVIVED WHETHER OR NOT HE MADE THE SHOT!!!!! if anything we’d probably learn a lot more about the phantoms if Logan had never shot his gun.
3.) I feel like Logan making the shot was suppose to distract us from the important lore aspect we see during the scene. we already know red loves throwing in foreshadowing and small hints for us. Especially when these hints get covered by other scenes so that we only notice them after we get the new information and we re-read old chapters. We can see an example of this in the same episode when Taylor offers to go see why Aiden was screaming and Tyler quickly takes action instead and sends her upstairs. it’s obvious that going back outside was the more dangerous option which is why Tyler told her she shouldn’t do it. But at the time many people brushed this off as Tyler caring about his sister as much as any brother would, and a part of his ‘jock/I’m bigger and better than everyone’ attuide seeping through. then later on in chapter 49, we learn about Tyler’s promise to always take care of Taylor and their mom, and we see how their safety is always his priority even if it’s to much for him. Taylor’s frown makes a lot more sense after we get this context.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyways what I’m trying to say is that I think Logan saving ash was suppose to draw away our attention to the whole reason he was even able to get the shot in the first place.
Tumblr media
Ashlyn is convinced she’s gonna die here and this is her last effort to live. So very strong emotion. But pay attention to her voice box thing. It’s black and has the red streaks around it.
Tumblr media
The phantom immediately pauses, as if it understands her. Also, it’s aggression vanished as soon as she spoke. This being LITERALLY TRYING TO KILL HER pauses and starts to question her!! In some twisted way Ashlyn can communicate with phantoms, or at the very least they can tell there is also a connection between her and them. This is literally so important and it’s not talking about enough. Even though no one has ever tried speaking directly to the phantoms before this, I do think this trait only belongs to ashlyn. For starters we already know that she has the strongest connection to the phantom world, and she’s the only one who can actually hear them. Her parents also said that they saw the phantoms after ashlyn was born. This is important for later on.
Tumblr media
The only other time we ever see the black text bubble is here when Logan is mad (chapter 42) his shadow has also changed to his phantom world-self. Notice that even though his actions are connected to the phantom there is no red streaks next to his text box?
Tumblr media
The fight obviously shows again that they affect the real world because their emotions and phantom and blah blah. This is all stuff we know. But hear me out! View their actions as if they are part phantom.
Tumblr media
Ashlyn’s commanding them to do something while feeling strong emotions. Her text box is black with the red streaks again. Just like it was during the scene that ‘Logan saves her’.
Tumblr media
And just like the phantom, all of them freeze and their violent behavior disappears. The fact that it’s all in sync and they all stop immediately shows that they didn’t just stop because their friend told them to. They stopped because Ashlyn’s commands have some strength to them. And remember earlier when I said think of them as part phantom? It makes sense why her commands would work, because it’s frozen a phantom before.
Tumblr media
AND LOOK!!!! THEY SOUND JUST LIKE THE PHANTOMS! The fact that this guy doesn’t react to that statement means that his organization already knows this. They already know that the kids are partly related to the phantoms. Ashlyn’s especially.
I guess this can split into two ideas:
1.) Ashlyn’s becoming part phantom the fastest. And I don’t mean that she’ll eventually become a full phantom but idk how else to phrase it. Her words can already be understood by phantoms and they have enough impact to confuse and stop phantoms in place. The phantom tilting their head at Ashlyn was kinda like ‘how did you do that?’ .
2.) Ashlyn’s connection gives her semi-control over phantoms. This could be a skill she has to develop over time but the fact that her words were able to break that main cast out of their anger and brought them back into reality shows that they CAN listen to her commands. Either she’s not strong enough yet to control real phantoms or she can only stun them, ash was still able to communicate with the phantom.
That scene is such an important building block that people just brush over. I just don’t see a lot of people talking about the fact that Ashlyn can talk/control phantoms in a way. Or maybe she can’t and all of this means smth else but it’s still so important.
Also before ppl jump on me for saying Ash would’ve lived w/ or w/o logan:
Tumblr media
Aiden was literally two seconds away from getting to ash. Plus the phantom was stunned. We don’t know if this hesitation would’ve lasted long or not, but it would’ve been enough time for Aiden to crawl to the top of the roof or for Ashlyn to kick it away. Ashyln was also in shock though so I’m not sure she would’ve been able to do much. But if Aiden saw the phantom on her he would’ve went crazy bro. Do not touch his girl ❌🙅‍♀️❌ All jokes aside though, we definitely would’ve learn more about the connection between Ashlyn and phantoms if Logan didn’t shoot. Not blaming him or anything but I’m just saying.
ANYWAYS THATS ALL THANKS FOR READING!!
