5.02 The Baron’s experiment (Spoilers within)
It was great seeing the Baron and the Sire in 5.02. And them working as a team with Guillermo and Derek to figure out Guillermo’s delayed reaction to being bitten. But I had a thought.
The poor guy (I forget his name) the Baron’s neighbor who, uh, lost both his lives. He was a full fledged vampire. The Baron turned him but good. So not really a great test case. Guillermo is either a dhampir (due to his Van Helsing blood?) or because of Derek’s inexperience, he screwed up Guillermo’s turning
So maybe. Just maybe Guillermo still has a chance to become a true vampire.
PS. I still think there’s a connection between Guillermo and that baby that Laszlo turned. The one he left in the Bronx. Where Guillermo was born and raised. This is my canon.

El and Belonging
The moon was bright and full, reflecting on the entire city, though the stars were barely visible from El’s vantage point. She placed her champagne glass down, slipping her heels off. Who knew that vampires could still get foot sores? El mused, looking around her hiding spot on the roof. Her hair was in her usual braid, but when she went to run her hand through her undercut, El remembered that she hadn’t shaved it that night. She tilted her head back and sighed, secretly cursing Samuel for insisting that she leave her hair the way it was, since the people at the party might have found that vulgar. El almost shaved her head to spite him and those bastards, but she knew that here, with the elite, she had to tread carefully. Samuel and her sister might’ve belonged, but she knew she didn-
As if summoned by her thoughts, the roof access door opened, and Samuel strolled in. “Thought I would find you here.” He said, amusement lighting his voice. He sat down next to El, slumping down and taking off his tie. “Can’t blame you, that entire room was stuffy as hell.” Samuel reached and patted her shoulder, his warm brown eyes crinkling with the smile he gave his childe. He waited a beat, looking out at the city, before adding on, “If you ever need to talk, about anything i’ll be here, you know that, right?” El nodded, “It’s just…. I can’t stand them. Those politicians and elites. I couldn’t stand to be in the same room. It felt like I was suffocating.” Samuel watched her closely. He reached a calloused hand and tucked a few jet black hair strands that had fallen out of her hair back behind her ears. Then, the Baron got up, extending his hand to El. “Well, since you didn’t get to enjoy a dance back in the old viper pit, why not have one now?” He asked, eyes shining brightly. El smiled and took his hand.
After a couple beats of silence, he leaned into her, and whispered “You know you’ll always have a place to belong, right?” She smiled for the first time that night.

|| Edward discovering modern music and being incredibly, insanely mad about it. Until Cain takes him to a party and he drinks drunk/drugged blood and learns it's not bad at all. 😆
