Kai: Nya he’s coated in mud and smells like horse shit. I really don’t want to clean the front of the shop again.

Kai: Nya in case you haven’t noticed the whole village has magic. He probably doesn’t have anything of value for payment aside from his beard.

Nya: But dragons! Besides you still owe me for burning my hair off from last fall.

Kai: Fine but I’m closing in five minutes if you can’t sell him anything. I didn’t even get to eat breakfast today and I will turn on you. Now if you’ll excuse me I’m changing my shirt out. Fucking Frozen owls and their pellets.

[Five minutes later and Kai has returned to the front of the store. Nya is frowning and motions Kai to come over.]

Kai: It’s called four weapons and revival. Not for browsing geezer.

Wu: I’m looking for someone specifically.

Kai: Up buh. Before you ask we don’t bring people back to life unless their will demands it and even then we need that will in triplicate and video or audio recordings for such a thing. We do however bring back beloved family pets if you’re interested.

Nya: Perhaps an old cat or family dog?

[Nya snaps her fingers and an anatomy text book appears flipping to two pages labeled “Cat” and “Dog”. Wu stares at it in shock.]

Wu: No nothing of that sort.

[ Nya snaps her fingers once again revealing a few more pages of the more wild Ninjagan animals.]

Nya: Ah an exotic pet owner then. Perhaps a Frozen Owl or a Boogie Woogie Bear. Oh no wait you look the type to own a pond of Cajan-Fried Fish.

Kai: Multiple animals to revive are a bit costly depending on their size. But you must have plenty to bargain with valued customer. We take cash, gems, precious metals, children, corpses, and souls as payment.

Wu: I’m looking for Ray and Maya Smith actually.

[ Nya’s anatomy textbook falls in shock and Kai frowns raising one of his fingers setting it aflame.]

Kai: Oh I see.

Nya: They’re not here at all.

Wu: Will they be back anytime soon? I’d love to catch up with them.

Nya: They’re missing and have been since I was four.

Kai: Get the hell out of our shop! I knew you were too good to be true a customer!

Wu: Look I just left something in their care and I need! Ow!

[ Mr.Glitter peers through the open window and snorts some hellfire at Wu’s robes. He sets them aflame and Wu starts screaming in shock. Wu runs out of the store leaving his hat behind.]

-Although he plays a ton of video games that have gore and action, he’s also a God at animal crossing. Of course he doesn’t say anything about it out loud because if Shigaraki hears it then he’s probably going to tease him. If not, then Dabi damn sure will. Either way, it’s his little secret honestly. He’s got so many hours logged into New Leaf that his village is insane. When New Horizons came out, Spinner was extremely happy about it. He put back most of his savings and bought the fresh copy to go with his new switch. He literally hasn’t been that excited for a Nintendo game since breath of the wild came out. He might secretly invite Toga into his room and play the game with her since he knows she won’t judge, but there’s no guarantee that she won’t spill the beans about him playing it.

~Twice~

-Jin has tried on multiple occasions to get over his smoking addiction but it just wasn’t working out! At one time he tried throwing away every single cigarette in his apartment, and car. That didn’t work because he went out an hour later and bought up 4 packs (and smoked 3 of them). The second time he tried, he froze his credit card in a block of ice inside the freezer, and donated all his cash/pocket change to keep himself for buying more. It almost worked until he found half a smoked one in his jacket pocket. The third time he attempted to quit, he actually went to a few smokers meetings but he was deemed ‘not mentally stable’ enough to stay. In other words, his personalities started arguing with each other and scared the crap out of the other members. Even till this day he struggles with his addiction. He wants to stop so badly, but it’s just too tempting. Maybe if he had a certain someone in his life to help him?👀

-He has a secret talent in playing music. Toya is a master at playing the guitar and his voice isn’t too bad either. He would sometimes come home and play/sing his heart out. It was his way of venting out his emotions and de-stressing after work. His best covers range from Simple Man (lynyrd skynyrd), to Free Falling (tom petty). He was pretty well versed...until he became super focused on the Shie Hassaikai. Still sometimes he comes back and picks up the guitar just to make sure he still has his skills and that they don’t disappear. As for his singing, he does that almost every time he gets in the shower.

~Pops~

-He’s super focused on the outside parts of his home. When he goes out to shop for anything, he always returns with gardening stuff, or bird and fish food. The koi in his pond are the healthiest they could be. And every day he gets a slew of beautifully colored birds that come to eat the food he leaves out. He replaces the water in his bird baths almost every two days, and he also has a small corner of the yard dedicated to his rock garden. Not to even mention how perfect his flowers are that he tends to. As Chisaki would put it: ‘the outdoor area is Pop’s happy place’ and it’s very true. He meditates out there with Tengai every Friday morning, and other times he’ll sit out back at night and watch the moon above him. Pops is such a peaceful sweetheart (despite his yakuza ties and the things he’s done in the past).

-Sako has an alley cat that he claims as his own! It started one day when he was coming back to the base after a long walk outside. He spotted a scruff looking grey cat hiding behind the trashcans and watching him. After he entered the base, he shuffled around in the kitchen until he found some canned tuna. Since it was cheap and affordable, he decided it would serve as makeshift cat food. Sako would feed this cat every day and night, siting on the steps and talking to it about his day while the small thing would purr happily as it ate. It got closer and closer until finally one day he approached Sako without being prompted with food first. Compress brought the cat inside and cleaned it. He also took it to a cheap vet and gave it a checkup as well. The reason why he doesn’t let it inside is because Toga is insane and he doesn’t trust her around cute things since she’s known to cut stuff up. Another reason is that Magne is allergic to cats, and Tomura can be downright cruel sometimes. Sako allows the cat to stay in the alleyway, and he rarely misses a feeding.

Malam Manor

We all grow up with that once upon a time, crap. When you're little, you believe it. Who believes it as an adult? I mean, really? We have smartphones, rumbas, and clap on lights. No one meets a 17-year-old vampire who supposed to be 52. But I have, and I found his tapes by accident. Now I'm living a filliping ounce upon a time that Anne Rice would drool over. If I don't find the f-ing cave his sister is trapped in, I'm going to be enjoying a lot less sunlight for damn sure.

I know if I could figure out the details, I'll find the cave. And the murderer and maybe be spared, or I fail, and I'm the next Elena Gilbert. I sure hope not.

I'm just a damn tutor who needs money for her master's degree. Why did I even think that posting a flyer online was a good idea? Hell, my only tinder date turned out to be a 300 lb guy catfishing for a date to his sister's wedding. I stupidly, no innocently thought I'd get some pimply high school sophomore struggling through R and J and Shakespeare word salad.

Man, was I wrong? Mr. Cain Haywater answered my ad. Normal name for an average guy, right? Well, who the hell names their kid after the first murder in the Bible, but I'm getting off track. My ancient 98 jeep with more rust than metal is not going up the hill to the "Malam Manor." Later I Google it and turns out the word is Latin for bad. I should have asked Siri sooner. Too late, Cain Haywater a ward of the state. Because he's 17 and wicked rich is paying me 50 bucks an hour to help write his family's history.

This house is unusual in ways I can't even begin to describe. Its windows seem to follow you like eyes while I rev up the circle drive. The brick looks like it's from out of the Hogwarts rejection pile. The height makes it at least three floors, and there's a damn covered entry that carriages pulled under in the 19th century. Besides the semi-creepy outsides, even though it looks well maintained, I'm coming here close to 9 pm. Ounce, the sun is down on the hottest July night in history. I should have done a business major instead of English lit. Follow your bliss, my mom said. What does she know she's a nail tech for the last 12 years. She probably has brain damage from the polish fumes.

I can't imagine anyone hears my lame knock at the gigantic door. But I swear to God it seems like a cat or something opened the door. I thought maybe the heat melted my brain, but it looked like a fuzzy ken doll. It darted behind a curtain. Before I could investigate Cain, hold my breath beautiful, Haywater stands ten feet in front of me in his large foyer in black jeans, skin-tight grey shirt with a badass blue tattoo that seems to have a deep center that radiates over his forearm. I'm shook in so many ways I can barely speak "Nyx, Nyx Jackson?" My name never sounded so smooth coming out of any humans mouth ever. That was when my brain should have clicked over to reality that he wasn't human. He hadn't been human since 1989.

Sadly only 2 hours into my best tutoring gig ever, I discovered Cain Haywater was indeed a real vampire. And his beloved twin sister Danielle, Dani, as he referred to her, was just as dead only traped in a watery caved transformed into a rusalka for the last 34 years. I was Cains's last chance at finding her cave and the wort boyfriend a girl could ask for. Jefferson Granton. A 200-year-old vampire that he needed to kill. My life wasn't fair and only made worse by the fact that I'm sure I'm going to fail, and my last meal was crappy ramen.

It was my stomach and too much curiosity that made me start playing with the vintage tape recorder Cain had on the black walnut desk. He heard my growling belly and while he searched for food. I pressed play. Big mistake, I'm not sure where he went to kill the food, but I listened to almost one side of a cassette tape. The quick spark notes, once he came back with cheese, apples, and fancy crackers to catch me, went fast.  

Back in May of 1986, he and his twin sister were graduating from Xaiver highschool. Somehow she latched on to an older college guy that wandered into town on a semester off to find himself. Jefferson Granton was mesmerizing, according to Cain, tall blond lovely to look at and even more interesting to listen to. He swept naive Danni off her feet on a cross country trip. He had a long term plan. One he had been cooking up for at least 100 years when Cain's family made a fortune in lumber and now stocks.

Jeffy boy started life as Jacarde Gulomar in the Brittany region of France. He accepted the gift of eternal life from a Norse vampire who wanted a mate. Jeff never entirely made his fortune and became a bad luck symbol for the covens all over Europe. Eyes on the new country to the west, he hopped a ship and arrived to wonder the grandness of the US just after the civil war. Comming upon early decedents of the Haywater clan. William Percy Haywater knew the deal equipped each member of the family with a hawthorn stake, holy water, and a warning against a freshly minted newly named Jefferson Granton.

No one fell for him until Danni, with all her beauty and openness, fell in love, and became a target for her trust fund. By the time the twins were 17, their parents were dead at the fate of a drunk driver, and a deaf Aunt looks after them. Danni fell under Jefferson's spell forgetting all caution to follow to the whispering cave. Now oddly in the middle of the mind-melting story, a flash caught my eye, and I met the grandfather like ken doll Cain shared his mansion with.

Pere was a domavoy who kept Cain and Malan safe as much as he could. Cain respects and adored him, so I was polite. Over the next three weeks, I moved in search their land every day when Cain joins me and feasts on Pere's cooking skills. His little face sparkled at each new dish he made for me after decades of blood bags. On steamy Saturday, July 31st, I finally found, or more fell into the mouth of the cave. Much of Cain's memory was erased on the night he watched Jefferson murder Danni while he hogtied in the corner of the damp cave. Only to meet a fate worse than Danni by forcefully being turned and compelled to kill and drain his Aunt of all her blood. Jefferson helps smooth it all over with some compulsion and tricks, but Cain secured his wealth in the next few days only to vanish. He picked a small fishing village in Maine, where he met Gabriel 100-year-old vampire who taught him to live and gave him advice on how to avenge Danni. Gabriel's plan centered on Cain coming home as his namesake's son Cain Haywater II. The mansion and his tie to Danni or Cain's greatest strength. It was clear why Jefferson failed to control them.

The night I stumbled into the cave, I wore my Danni look-alike costume Pere helped me pull together. I looked like a backup dancer on a Wham video. It was. It was to trick Jefferson, but oddly I caught the attention of another creepy creature a leshii in the woods. I thought it was Cain because the voice fit, and I felt drawn to the being. Only when it had led me halfway across the land did I catch a glimpse of its eyes. Pure white scalaris was not a hint of iris or pupil. Taking off back towards the cave, I felt two forces moving me one I can now sense with Cain, and the other I was damn sure was Jefferson. He'd been down a rough road probably because, in life, he was a bit of a narcissist. Only to have that enhanced by his Vampire Life, he thought I was Danni, and he'd Follow Me to Hell to get that money. Once we made it to the rippling silver pond within the cave, I laid eyes on Daniella. My wham costume was a joke compared to her beauty.

She swept as close to us as possible, shouting silently in my brain to turn now. Cain stands between me and Jefferson stake in hand slowly I fell to the wash of a cool breeze flowing over us which I knew mixed with my warm body temp to engulf Cain it was in that moment I saw the vague outline of a man just like he left a speakeasy in 1926. He became more gas-like to almost solid, yet I could still see right through him. He is handsome except for that visible gunshot wound to his right Temple. Why was I surprised that we now have a ghost to add to the mix. Pere spoke of the cave as whispered he claimed someone took their life after the 1920 stock crash here he was with eyes for Danni.

The extraordinary power Cain had wasn't just his home or his connection to his twin. It was that he could feel loved. He survived and lived by keeping his Humanity. I saw beautiful sparkling Jefferson with his flowing blonde hair realize it too. Cains power made the cave hum Jefferson was cocky, and that was very clear. He charged expecting to deflect the steak easily, but with Danni's strength and God help me my feelings for Cain. He drove the stake straight and true into Jefferson's lean chest.

Before I can blink Cain without a blade from his boot and with incredible strength severed the head like clockwork Cain without a new Zippo lighter and flicked it on to Jeffy. Making a roaring vampire candle. Can quickly turn to glance behind making a connection with Danni. "find your bliss" I heard in my head, and I knew Cain heard it too. The 1920s gentleman back into Danni as they drifted further back into the cave. We're only water held the floor we stood still.   "Nyx?" his velvet voice floated over me. I can only gape open mouth, watery eyes, and some snot beginning to flow. At that moment, my stomach rumbled loudly. He smiled a genuinely genuine smile with all the years that he waited. I knew without any doubt Cain Haywater would be in my future Tech probably my whole life, and I smiled too.

A Body in the Pond, A Living Funeral and A Bible Bashing...

Rounding up a week in Hollyoaks (19th-23rd August 2019)

There are many things we associate with Summer. Sunshine, beaches, light nights, rain but the word that will spring to mind when we look back on Summer 2019 in Hollyoaks will be ‘death’. Breda had murder in mind (again) this week when she discovered that Goldie and Joel were still seeing each other, despite Goldie promising her otherwise. Getting Joel alone at the McQueen’s, Breda hit him with her Bible, but was horrified when the whack failed to kill him. The pair came to an understanding, and Joel agreed to keep quiet about Breda’s actions if she agreed to give him and Goldie her blessing. Although Breda looked to be out of the woods, she was soon back in the shit when Jack took the boys fishing outside The Dog, and ended up ‘catching’ a dead body...

The police were quick to identify the body as Louis Loveday and Lisa was devastated to learn of her Dad’s fate. Keen to find answers, Lisa jumped on the fact that Breda had been the last person to speak to Louis, and the police were also interested upon receiving this information. Unfortunately, Breda had a way to get the police off the scent, and she pointed them firmly in the direction of Leela and Martine, pointing out that both women had been wronged by Louis in the run up to his death. Martine and Leela were soon taken in for questioning, and both were appalled by the suggestion that they could have killed Louis. With the police having no real evidence linking either women to the murder, Leela and Martine were released and Lisa was later informed that her Father was possibly another victim of the serial killer...

Despite the investigation into the serial killer gathering pace, Breda wasn’t to be deterred in her mission to rid the village of terrible Fathers, and she quickly made plans for Darren to become her next victim. Breda was left angry when Darren kept palming Charlie and Oscar off on Tom and she was left even more enraged when she arrived at The Osborne’s to find the boys home alone and watching a scary film. Despite Darren insisting that he’d only left the boys alone for a short while, Breda tore into him for his carelessness and made plans to poison him, but she was interrupted by Mandy. Breda ranted away at what a terrible Father Darren was, but she was stopped in her tracks when Mandy made her see that he was only trying his best. Breda decided to let Darren live but she soon found herself trying to force Lisa out of the village when she discovered that she was attempting to track down Louis’ ring, the very ring that is currently residing on Jack’s finger...

Meanwhile, for someone who’d just had this affair rumbled, Liam was surprisingly relaxed this week, believing that he could convince Bobby that his kiss with Mercedes was entirely innocent. Of course, he’s forgetting that Bobby’s not one of those stupid kids, and the youngster quickly told Liam that he didn’t believe his cover story (licking ice cream off her face, indeed?!) Confused over what to do, Bobby turned to Charlie, and asked him if he would have told Nancy about Darren’s affair with Mandy had he known. Charlie confirmed that he would have told, stating that honesty was always the best policy and so Bobby prepared to tell Sylver what he’d seen. However, Bobby had a change of heart when he realised how upset Sylver would be and decided to keep shtum. Bobby’s subdued mood over the days that followed caused Sylver much concern and he confided in Misbah when he discovered that Bobby had wet the bed. Misbah offered to have a word with Bobby to see if anything was troubling him and he admitted that he was worried that Mercedes was going to abandon him again. Mercedes, who had spent the entire week oblivious to her son’s upset, was devastated when she overheard...

Elsewhere, Damon and Maxine were back from their honeymoon, and Sienna was soon piling on the pressure to get Maxine to tell the truth about her ‘illness’. With Maxine reluctant to admit to her lies, Sienna jumped in and started her off, telling Damon that Maxine’s magical treatment had worked. Damon was so delighted by the news that he planned a lads holiday with Scott and Brody, leaving Maxine feeling neglected. Of course, we can’t have that, and so Maxine broke down in tears and told Damon that she’d lied to Sienna, and that her treatment hadn’t worked. Wanting to cheer Maxine up, Damon decided to give her a ‘living funeral’ at the folly (minus the Tom’s Turtles tat but complete with a coffin!) Maxine was delighted by the gesture and became even more insufferable than usual as she threw herself into the preparations. Unfortunately, the event didn’t go well when Brody discovered that Damon had been taking money from Maxine’s fund, and the police interrupted the service to arrest him for fraud. Wanting to get her husband off the hook, Maxine decided to confess but Sienna convinced her not to when James pointed out that they could use Damon losing Maggie and potentially losing Maxine in quick succession as mitigation. So the lie continues...

In other news this week, Goldie and Joel were revelling in their new relationship, delighted that they now had Breda’s blessing whilst Sylver offered to be Grace’s personal trainer. Finally, Diane received news that Finn was about to be released...

5 Things We Learned This Week:

1. Nothing good ever comes from a fishing trip. Especially if that trip takes place outside The Dog. Ste’s already fished a body out of there and now Jack’s joined the club too. Just buy your fish out of Price Slice instead.

2. Walter doesn’t lock Price Slice. The discovery of a body outside The Dog had Walter, Martine and Lisa rushing down there for a nosy, with Walter forgetting to lock the shop in his haste. He’s a brave man, given that he lives in the crime capital of the world. 

3. Nanny Breda is always there. What started off as a comforting message to a grieving Leela this week turned out to be scarily accurate. Whenever the police were in the village, be it gathering evidence or speaking to witnesses, there was Breda lurking just in the corner of the shot. 

4. Charlie and Oscar need to develop a thicker skin if they’re going to survive in Hollyoaks. There’s no way that horror video they watched could be worse than anything they’ll witness growing up in the village!

5. Damon wants Maxine’s last days to be just like Maggie’s. So we can look forward to scenes of Maxine streaking round the village, interrupting someone’s wedding and getting arrested. Marvellous.

Finding My Rhythm!

My nursery school experience is one I do not often talk about,a kid should not be able to recall how their teacher had a psychotic break in the middle of a lesson ,went into coloring a bunch of books in a frenzy while screaming and had to be carried out , I did not feel so terrible though,this was the same teacher who told me not to sing the national anthem during morning assembly as she was lost on where to place my voice, I was too off key.

This blew my one chance of making friends as an awkward kid.I wasn't accepted in the little boys and girls choir club ,and that was pretty much the only thing we had going on in that school.The whole episode about a teacher losing her wits infront of the class did not sit in too well with the parents ,so before I had made any meaningful connections,I was off with my first bag ,crayons and evenly spaced exercise books to another school.This was not just a nursery school,it consisted of a lower and upper primary too.

My adventures were just beginning,I thought it was going to be a lovely rosy experience but this school had the toughest bunch in it,I immediately stood out as I was able to read ,albeit with some difficulties a few english sentences here and there,the cheerfulness I displayed when raising my hands in class did not work on my favor,I learnt that there was a way things were running in this school and I was not being a good fit.My new school mates praised illiteracy,this were young kids who thought life was out of school and were just passing time .

Reading or even speaking a bit of english alienated me further from making any meaningful connection or friendship,I had to acquire a tough exterior somehow while still maintaining my grades to avoid any trouble with the old lady at home.I labored so hard to make new friends but it seems the kids knew right away I was a bit apprehensive.My resolve towards bullies was pretty simple as I had one objective in mind,turn foe into friend,and the process involved giving in to their demands with a smile.

The first encounter was around lunch hour with Jamila ,a girl who should not have been in class one.Jamila towered even over our mathematics teacher ,one could always spot the tremor in Mrs Wanja's voice as she called out Jamila's name while going through the register.Jamila asked for my shoes and socks without flinching ,I knew they did not fit her so that confirmed the suspicion that she could have been having a family outside school or was possibly running a business for second hand wares,I gave lady Jamila the brightest smile ever and proceeded to give her my new shoes and old pair of socks.

Back home my mother was infuriated and also worried about my slothful like nature but this gradually went to rage when I came home without school uniform the second week and the last straw was when I walked back home with a polythene bag holding my books having given out my first bag as well.My mother had had enough ,I could tell from my burning ears after she'd pulled them for so long trying to understand what submissive demon had possessed me into giving out everything she was buying for me,she was also worried I was a bit slow.

I had to toughen up ,luckily my cousin Ibrahim and his friend Baraka joined around the same time.With the two I found company and got a bit of respect around school,but it was not enough ,this was all revealed when Jamila towered over us one day after class ,took all our erasers and books and left.A front of three ,and we still got bullied,it was time to think of concise and effective ways to get some respect around school,but outside Jamila's turf of course.I saw in Baraka and Ibrahim friends but I was an outsider in their friendship bond.When they talked me into after school street fighting,I did not ask why I as a female was the fighter and they,two males were managing me.

So we got to watching indian movies in video cafes to learn a few moves and in a day I was ready to take on the world.The mechanism was simple ,Ibrahim and Baraka would get into trouble with someone,to weasel out of it they would throw in a challenge,a fight, and the prize was just respect .They'd meet me outside my class after school,we would then proceed to the back of the school and I would immediately be thrown in to the ring.The first few fights were peanuts ,I was in the best form,thin and fast and throwing in a few shah ru khan moves here and there I would have my opponent begging for mercy in no time at all.

I became quite popular as a result and in class three I was completely unafraid to raise my hands  in class or speak english , but that was till the day we challenged Atman who had sat on Ibrahim's desk and refused to budge.With growing tenacity ,I walked into Ibrahim's class just before the lesson started and told Atman about the pain that was about to rain down on him.I should have observed Atman clearly I understand that now,Atman like jamila seemed the type of guy or kid as I was unable to discern later who would not be going home to do homework but in a certain degree to solve real life problems like rent,or issues like was the gardening hoe returned by the neighbor,or trouble himself about financial issues and the rising price of a loaf of bread.

 Atman was all muscle,muscles were bulging throughout every visible part of him.It did not last long ,one minute I was holding my fist defiantly the next I was face down in the middle of the desk with my legs up in the air,my promoters had taken off and were nowhere to be seen.I went home looking like I had been fished out of a muddy pond,mom took one look at me and took me off to a private school-yet again,another unsuccessful attempt at making friends.

The private school covered what remained of my upper primary years,I was fast tracking into the puberty phase .I had some vague notions of what a private school would be like ,ideas we had passed around in my former schools while walking home when the big new school buses for private schools with english names printed across carrying all this bright faces would zoom past us.We thought to ourselves that the kids must have been born in big hospitals with fancy doctors and the first stream of words they heard were probably bunch of english words.

Fancy we thought,this were a different type of people who only conversed in this words we see in text books,fascinating!I was thrust into yet another environment that I did not fit in,I remember my new class gasping as I read an english statement with the knowledge of the school I was from,a mish mash of tenses. I rose through the ranks slowly in this new establishment by doing a lot of homework for people but it all paid off as I was chosen to be a head girl,attempt at making friends yet again ineffective because power tends to push people away.

Mother says she was worried about me for quite sometime,I was always colliding with bicycles while going to the shop,losing money,forgetting change,zoning off and creepily staring at people ,and my mouth would go off and say the wrong things in a family reunion like aunty Letifa's late night meetings with the village chief which would come as quite a surprise to her husband.So I treaded on looking for people to fit in with, I did not find that escape in high school as the zoning off and staring into space became a topic and people would allude to me when conversing about characters that were not quite okay in the head,the straw that broke the camels back was when I attempted a dance during the entertainment hour in my third year.

I let the beat completely take over me and started gyrating and convulsing to it,I moved like a white girl they said while laughing so I let dancing become a private affair while showering.I was made to feel awkward all through and it happens to date,but I always celebrated the fact that I was different and I was always convinced that there had to be a breed of people I would fit right in with.I  have felt like a box was being designed for me at each stage and I was expected to fit in.Growing up,I had to explain myself to my peers why I enjoyed reading,but at some point ,books became my only solace,and my adventures were restricted to my wandering imagination.

I went camping recently and a picture was taken of me on top of a tree,I spent the next two days on social media being asked by people what brain malady had overtaken me and made me climb a tree.I was shocked,that even as a twenty six year old I was put on the stand to validate my actions as if it was any ones business.I spent so much time growing up trying to fit in to the idea of normal ,what everybody expected of me ,but at each step I was amiss because I was either not tough enough,my hips were too narrow or my ideas too wild.But I stopped trying to fit in a long time ago,I learnt that life is that big dance floor and as I let go and let the rhythm of life overtake me,no matter how absurd my convulsions and gyrations may seem to others ,when I open my eyes I will find some people close to me.

How To Get Here

If you’re from Cleveland Ohio, the fastest route would be to get on I-90 West from West Huron Road and Ontario Street. Then follow I-71 Southbound to US-250 W/E Main Street in Montgomery Township. Take exit 186 from I-71 South. Finally, take OH-60 South and OH-3 South to Apple Valley Drive in Howard Township. Relax, unwind, and enjoy the journey as you pass by Mill Stream Run and Mohican State Park.

However, if you’re near Columbus OH, it’s just a one-hour drive to Apple Valley Lake. The shortest way would be to take I-670 East, Exit 30, OH-161 East, and US-62 East to OH-661 North in Burlington Township. You will then continue Northbound on OH-661 to Mount Vernon, where you would want to stop by for a taste of history. Finally, follow US-36 East/Coshocton Ave to Apple Valley Boulevard in Howard Township. On the way, you can choose to make a slight detour to visit Ariel Foundation Park.

If you live in  Cincinnati OH, you can easily come here by getting on I-71 North from East 5th St. Follow I-71 North to OH-61 North in Bennington Township. Then take exit 140 from I-71 North. Finally, take OH-229 East and US-36 East/Coshocton Ave to Apple Valley Drive in Howard Township.

On the other hand, if you’re from Mansfield OH, going to Apple Valley Lake will take you less than an hour. Take OH-13 South, Ankneytown Road, and Knox Lake Road to County Road 14/Upper Fredericktown Amity Road in Pike Township. Turn right onto County Road 14/Upper Fredericktown Amity Road then continue straight onto Danville Amity Road. Finally, turn right onto North Ridge Heights Drive in Apple Valley.

Finally, if you’re coming from Coshocton Ohio, the fastest route would be to take Walnut Street, Chestnut Street, and OH-16 East/OH-83 North then turn left onto US-36 West. Make a right turn at Apple Valley Boulevard, and you’re here! Visit the Historic Roscoe Village and Kokosing Valley Camp and Canoe along the way.

My (almost half) Kyushu Trip

This trip is the most unprepared trip and the trip that “unlike me”

I like to spend more than 1 day in certain place, just to see the city, relax, and sightseeing at my own pace rather than move around every day.

This probably text-heavy rather than pictures heavy due to my laptop not cooperate and the pictures from my phone didn’t import properly and you probably will see pictures I posted before because of the above reason.

I went to Kyushu via Peach Aviation on Jan 15-20, 2018. A first trip of the year, yay.  On the 15th, I flew from Bangkok to Okinawa. And wow, I shook a little from cold weather in Okinawa.  The plane was so warm.  The flight supposed to arrive at 8am, but my flight was 15 minutes delayed. I was in a rush because I have another flight to catch at 9:50am, but it not a connection flight, which mean I have to check-out and check-in again. The immigration person keep asking me what am I doing here this time, I would like to think that he just doing his job to make sure he gives the right amount of days allowed in Japan rather than thinking that he suspect that I would ran away and overstayed in Japan.  I was really worried that I might miss the flight since most of the time the international flight and domestic flight are in separate building. When I got out, the check-in counter is right in front of my eyes and the gate is close by. Because the airline is low-cost airline. They have their own separate building that every single one of their flight will be here (to be fair, they share with another airlines). So, I made it in time and once I arrived at to Fukuoka, I rushed to Fukuoka City Museum to find that it close on that day. See  So on the first day, I went to Kokura Castle and Moji Port in KitaKyushu and then stay in Kitahama, Beppu.  

*Note I bought JR North Kyushu pass, 8500 yen for 3 days, I think it worth the money since I don’t have to buy ticket every time and I can ride Shinkansen

Second day, Jan 16.

The original plan was to visit Kitsuki castle and walk around the castle town because I came to love Japanese castle and later visit Beppu Hells, but I’m me, I can’t force myself to wake up early for the sake of sightseeing and ended up sleep in.  And I think it was the right choice...if the guide said 2-3 hours in sightseeing, I will took 3-4 hours or even longer than that.  I took a bus to Kannawa to see “Jigoku” or hells, the name was taken from that fact that all the hot springs here are too hot for human to enter and probably hot like hell.

I think I visited the place in different order than most ppl do, it seem like they usually walk for 10 minutes to reach the farthest hell first then go back to the same route to visit the rest.  Let’s just say I do the opposite...

The first hell I visited is called “Shiraike Jigoku or the white pond hell, whose boiling spouting up water turns blue-white colored when falling down upon surface of the water.  There is also a tropical aqurium where a ‘king fish’ of prarucu’ ‘man-eating fish’ of piranha and several other tropical fish have been raised.”

After I got out of this, I was hungry since I have not eat anything yet and it was 11am almost 12pm, and I just walk in the nearest store and order the first food I saw, which happen to be the food of that area

Dangojiru, a ramen made from dango I think and this food is put together with Kyoto’s black ramen in the list of food I will never eat again.  It’s very plain and too much vegetable I guess, I rather eat a weird hint of burnt bitter sweet and super salty black ramen more than this.  Maybe I dislike it due to its plain taste and the lack of meat...

Next stop, “Oniyama Jigoku (Oniyama Hell), the force of the steam is so strong here that about one and a half train cars can be pulled by its pressure, and it creates ideal conditions for breeding crocodiles.”  This place probably a place that I didn’t took a picture of onsen with its name because this place is known for crocodiles, the temperature of the onsen is 99.1 C

And the real hell start here, “Kamado Jigoku (Oven Hell)  This jigoku derives its name from the fact that it used to be used for cooking foods long long ago.  The great red demon standing on an enormous cooking pot is the symbol of this jigoku”  That picture probably more appropriate than this picture, but the tour groups were there, there are a lot of people and they loud.  They also have a shop there for souvenirs and I just wanted to get out of this place as soon as possible.  Hey, I’m an introvert and I like quiet place.

“Umi Jigoku (Sea Hell) so called because this jigoku looks like the sea, which emerged after an explosion of a volcano 1,200 years ago and because the color of the boiling water of the pond is cobalt-blue.”  

Oniishi Bozu Jigoku, it seem like I forgot to take a picture of the sign, but the name came from the fact that the little bubble popping up looking like head of the monk.  This place was so relaxing and nobody there, there is a footbath in here, which they put some kind of citrus in it and it was really nice.  The previous two jigoku also have footbath but there are too many people around.  So these 5 jigoku are the one within walkable distance, the other two is 3km away and riding bus there is the best option

Tatsumaki Jigoku (Geyser), I don’t have a trivia for this because I don’t remember and the sign was cut off otl  

Chinoike Jigoku (Blodd Hell), it named after the redness.

Overall, I think the jigoku are pretty interesting, definitely a tourist trap, but it was fun to take pictures with all of them.  Not a place I would visit again unless I want more of their skin-care product :p

After I finish journey through hells, I decided to go for a sand bath, which I got covered in black sand.  The temperature is too warm, it not like hot like the sand bath in different prefecture that I saw in one of the youtube video, which is kind of disappointment since I expected sauna temperature in a cool weather.  Then I went back to my hotel to relax and go out again to find food; I ate seafood ochazuke and Tamayaki (like takoyaki, but use scallop instead), then I finally went to Family Mart to print out Ogo-tan’s conbeni print.

Asahi Tower Beppu Tower is located near my hotel, so I decide to go up there on my way back, I think I got sold because they said the tower was kind of old or something, but it was not worth it, there’s nothing up there, the night view can be seen anywhere, not unique to Beppu.

Third day,

It’s a day, I actually waking up early (to catch the train back to Hakata)  for the sake of everything yay.  The plan, was Nagasaki...and I was going to get through with this plan until I ride the train and changed my mind.  It was very last minute, I had no plan.  I thought that 3 hours in Nagasaki is not enough and not worth it to ride 4-6 hours of train (two-way) from Hakata.  I have to hurried back to Hakata before Fukuoka City Museum close.  So, I went to Kumamoto Castle, which happened to be under construction due to earthquake, like I said in one of my post before, I knew it was under construction, but I didn’t know it was all the area.  At that point, I was regretting the fact that Fukuoka City Museum closing on Monday ruined my plan, I could have ride a ferry from Kumamoto to Nagasaki and actually enjoy Nagasaki until night time, but I have my sword priority.  So, I went to Tamana to see Doudanuki since I already in Kumamoto.  The museum was really really nice, I enjoyed it a lot despite the fact that I couldn’t read Japanese.  The dedication that I rode taxi there because the bus do not reach that place.  And the station person in Tamana station was so helpful, what a good place.  And then, I rode shinkansen back to Hakata again and finally able to see Hasebe in Fukuoka City Musuem.  See I took better pictures of the swords, like zoom in and such, but I’m too lazy to post it so that post ended up with generic sword pictures.

My hotel is in Tenjin, which has Animate there, something I couldn’t find and ended up spent money in Book-off instead.  The food that day was Mos Burger during lunch (Idk why I craved for Japanese-western food, don’t judge me) and Oyster tempura-don plus karage.

Fourth day, another unplanned day

I flew back to Okinawa and sat at Naha airport for 2 or was it 3 hours because I don’t know what to do.  I was looking at the brochures and tried to come up with a plan for today.  My original plan was to go the south and go to Okinawa world and I just ended up too lazy to go.  In the end, I decided to go to my hotel and walk around that area.  My hotel happen to be within the walkable distance from Animate, I always picked the best location for my hotel eh?  The street that I was walking was Kokusaidori street, which is a shopping street for souvenirs.

Although, it’s unplanned it was great, I enjoyed looking in each shop and eat whatever food I found on my way Animate.

Fifth day, each day’s adventure is getting shorter and shorter

I bought a day tour to Okinawa’s aquarium because I’m too lazy to do my research for the bus.  This day tour is so rush, I didn’t spend enough time in the aquarium, two hours include lunch is not enough.  The taco rice in the aquarium was great though, I can see whale shark while I ate.  The other place include in the tours are Kadena, a place where you can see American’s air force plane, Cape Manza, a place that related to Urashima Taro (If my Japanese is corrected, I mostly sleep through the bus ride) and American Village, a shopping place that the tour let people be in for 50 minutes, I cannot do anything during that period of the time. Sadly, it was raining that day and I’m not feeling very happy about it.

Sixth day, visited 3 world heritage

The last day in Japan,  visited Shirikinaen Garden, Shuri Castle, Tamadun, and Naminoue Shrine - Beach.  Shirikinaen was beautiful, I loves Japanese garden.  Shuri Castle was too large and I was too tired to explore all the area, is I visit Shuri Castle on the first day of my trip, I probably able to finish the stamp rally.  Naminoue beach is the only beach I went although I went to Okinawa,

Overall, I did enjoyed this trip a lot.  There’s a point that I was worn out enough to just want to stay in the hotel and not going anywhere, but it was a fun alone time trip.  In all the prefectures I visited, I probably will visited them again some day because I feel like I didn’t see enough, but it probably won’t be my priority since I rather visit other prefectures and complete my bucket list (visit all prefectures in Japan)

Oita, definitely will visit again for onsen-escape, maybe not Beppu, maybe it would be Yufuin next time.

Kumamoto, in 2019 when Kumamoto Castle is complete, let’s do it since it one of Japanese’s greatest castle...and maybe Mt. Aso...

Fukuoka, if I have a chance, might have a proper sightseeing here in the future

Okinawa, if I go there again, I want to stay near Ocean Expo park or something, it seem there’s a lot of interesting place in there.  Might go there in Spring because Summer is too hot and probably too crowded.

4/8 Kyushu visited, need to clear the rest the next time.

When I read this in the future, I probably regretted this for writing too little haha.  But I’m kind of tired half way through and it ended up the way it is.
