I'm calling it right now, Pax (Pri's brother) is gonna be the final villain of the series. His backstory is almost exactly the same as Ryan Gladstone from Beywheelz: a genius blader (or wheeler) who retired due to an accident and now coaches other bladers while researching the supernatural power of beys.

Burst’s lack of central theme
Disclaimer: It is possible that everything I say is wrong and I simply misunderstood something important, because I find it hard to believe a series has no central theme, especially in this franchise. Also, obvious spoilers
So I have realized that I cannot point out a single, specific central theme for Burst like I can for the other Beyblade series. The original series? Friendship formed through friendly competition. Metal saga? Man’s desire for self improvement. Burst? A mix of a bunch of themes with none of them standing out above the rest, and as a consequence they all end up being too vague to make Burst stand out thematically as a series
With any piece of fiction, the easiest way to find a central theme is through the protagonist and antagonist. Discounting stories with a villain protagonist and those with no real defined antagonist, there is usually a character trait that makes the hero heroic and the villain villainous, with these traits often mirroring each other. The original series does this perfectly. Our heroes battle for the love of the sport, and respect their opponents as equals. The villains battle for ulterior motives (world domination or making Zeo a human), while seeing their opponents as problems to be taken care of. MFB’s central theme is how every person strives to become better, often taking the form of becoming more powerful. It then shows how some ways to gain power are good (training, power of friendship), and how others are bad (arrangement, dark power). Admittedly Nemesis doesn’t strive for self improvement (at least not after it became Diablo Nemesis), but he mainly serves as an obstacle that shows the flaws in Ryuga’s method of self improvement (Gingka succeeds where Ryuga fails because Gingka’s methods were right)
Even Beywheelz has a central theme: losing. When our heroes lose, their friends help them get back up. When one of the villains loses, they get punished for it. Beyraiderz, for all its flaws, introduces a theme towards the end (freedom vs order), even if the theme isn’t well developed. Beywarriors Cyborg’s theme is nationalism and how it sucks (granted, Bran isn’t nationalistic, but exploits August’s extreme nationalism to manipulate him)
Burst’s main theme varies by season, with no real central idea that consistently connects said themes. Season 1′s conflict around Valt, Lui, and Shu is about friendship. Specifically, treating rivals not as enemies, but friends (best seen with Valt’s reaction after beating Ken vs Lui’s after beating Shu in the flashback). Evolution is about not endangering yourself in an attempt to improve. This theme was present with Shu in season 1, but Evolution truly explores it. However, these two themes are that, two themes. They aren’t variations of the same theme, but rather two separate themes with nothing to connect them. Turbo’s theme actually connects season 1′s and Evolution’s somewhat. Aiger, using dark resonance, ends up embodying the worst parts of both season 1 Lui and season 2 Shu. He seeks power above all else, and considers those he defeats to be beneath him. Then we get Rise
Rise’s theme is the power of friendship (and rainbows, quite literally, at the end). Why is Gwyn the main antagonist? Because he doesn’t believe friendship can make bladers stronger. Why is Dante the protagonist? Because he believes that friendship is the best way to make a blader stronger. It works as a different angle from which to explore the themes of season 1, but it doesn’t thematically connect to Evolution, and only partially connects to Turbo (the part that relates to season 1)
Then Surge comes in. The main theme is presented through 3 things: Flare, Limit Break, and the Legends. Flare is really just a reskinned resonance, and the Legends are there to be fought by Lain and the Hizashi brothers. Lain battles the Legends because he is compelled to, thus giving him an evil flare. The brothers battle the Legends out of admiration (the desire to stand alongside their idols), giving them a good flare. This is similar to Rise, and explores the same theme from a different angle. Limit Break is where things get weird. It’s the idea of pushing yourself beyond what you thought you could achieve. We see this in mfb, where it’s presented as a positive (Klaus being the best example, and Ryuga’s flaw was that he relied exclusively on this instead of combining it with the power of friendship). But in Burst, this has been presented as a negative before (Shu in the first 2 seasons). Pushing yourself too hard can endanger your health, and you shouldn’t do it (Free was extremely lucky to not end up more injured in Evolution). I’m fine with mfb and Burst having contradictory takes on this idea, but Burst should not have contradictory takes within itself
QuadDrive’s main theme is about actions vs presentation. Bel presents himself as a villain, but his actions, especially after accidentally breaking his opponent’s bey (Ranzo’s), show him to be a batter person than Rashad, who presents himself as a hero. Just compare Bel helping Ranzo build a new bey to Rashad not caring after he breaks Bel’s and Valt’s beys. This is an entirely new theme completely unrelated to any of the themes from previous seasons. I know QD ignored everything after Evolution but still. Maybe there’s just something I’m not seeing?

I'd post a "Who'd win in a fight? Xavier Bogard or Jin Ryu" question, but I'm pretty sure that everyone would say Xavier purely due to bias over him being more known and most beyblade fans looking down upon Beyraiderz
Like, honestly, the two would be very evenly matched with Jin possibly having the upper hand due to what we see in Beyraiderz.

Beyblade OC Week Rules and FAQ
This post will describe what exactly Beyblade OC Week is, as well as establish a few rules so that everyone can enjoy this event better :)
---
What is Bey OC Week?
Bey OC Week is a two-week online event taking place from July 10 and 23, dedicated to celebrating all the wonderful Beyblade OCs out there. All forms of media are accepted for this event as long as Tumblr supports it, so art, stories, edits, memes, music, and videos are all allowed.
Participating in this event is very simple. All you need to do is make content of your Beyblade OC, and tag it with either/both #beyocweek and #beyocweek2023 . You may also tag the Bey OC Week account in case we miss the post. While this event will mainly take place on Tumblr, any creator who would like to share their creations to other social media platforms is welcome to.
Although both moderators (@masterofdemise and @lady-lazagna) are mainly into Metal Fight Beyblade, fans of all the other Beyblade generations are welcome to participate as well. Whether you are a Bakuten Shoot, Burst, X, or Beywheelz/Beyraiderz fan, you are allowed to take part and we will still reblog your work!
You can find the 2023 prompt list for this event here: link
Let’s get into some rules.
Do I have to follow the provided prompts?
Technically no. They are there to give general ideas and inspirations, but they are not set rules that you have to follow. The main idea is to celebrate Beyblade OCs, so if you have an idea that you want to pursue that doesn’t go along with the prompt of that day, you can still tag your work under Beyblade OC Week.
I might be busy and not have enough time to participate during the two weeks, can I still participate outside of the official time period?
Absolutely! We know this event is taking place in the summer so while many will be free to do the prompts, there will also be many who will be too busy. While the official event takes place from the specific week of the year, you are welcome to treat the prompt list like any other art challenge list. We will continue to reblog Beyblade OC Week creations up until the last day of year, so feel free to participate later in the year if that fits your schedule better.
Can I still make content of the canon characters?
Canon characters are allowed as long as there is the presence of at least one original character present. After all, this is an event to appreciate the original characters of all the different Bey generations.
Are crossovers with non-Bey media allowed?
Of course, much like the canon characters,  just as long as your Bey OC is featured.
Can I draw other people’s OCs?
You are 100% allowed to, especially since there is overlap with this event and Artfight. The only rule is that if you do draw another person’s character, you must abide by whatever character permissions/rules the creator established for their OC. Any OC content that is made to harass/slander/bully the creator will not be tolerated and will result in an immediate ban/block. This event is supposed to be fun, so any form of harassment against another person or their creations is not permitted.
Is NSFW, sexual or gore content allowed for this event?
Beyblade is toy kids media, meaning there are most likely plenty of minors within the fandom. To keep this event safe for work and a safe space for more people to participate, we will not be allowing NSFW or any overly suggestive/sexual works. Mild gore is permitted, but it must be hidden with either the read more feature or the community label. While neither of us can really stop people from making NSFW content for their OCs, we would suggest either not posting it, or hiding it with the earlier mentioned Tumblr functions as to respect other peoples boundaries since not everyone will want to see this sort of content in the tags. Let’s be mindful of all the different members of the fandom.
Failure to properly hide/tag NSFW or gore content will result in the moderators not reblogging your works for the rest of the event if you refuse to comply with this rule and do not fix the post after being asked to by moderators. If this rule is broken several times, you will be banned and blocked by the account. The moderators have the right to block your account if you engage in inappropriate behavior outside of the event.
How come my post hasn’t been reblogged?
Although both moderators will be checking the tag, we will inevitably miss a few due to Tumblr not always showing posts. If we haven’t reblogged your post in around 24-48 hours, please feel free to DM or tag the blog so we can see your post easier. We would like to be able to help share your wonderful OCs with everyone. The only other reason we might not reblog a work is if it breaks any of the rules established (see above for rules on NSFW/Gore and any derogatory works of other people’s OCs).
What other rules should we keep in mind for this event?
Any form of stealing/reposting/re-editing of art/writing/music/use of AI without the permission of the original creator or claiming their work as your own is forbidden. If you are caught doing any of the following and refuse to delete the offending work, you will be banned from participating from this event.  Since Bey OC Week is an arts centric event open to many different art forms, we want to make sure everyone is being respectful of people’s original works since original characters can mean a lot to their owners. Just in general, this sort of behavior is not tolerated even in regular art communities so do not think about taking someone’s handwork and claiming it as your own.
As mentioned before, the moderators have the right to block your account if you engage in inappropriate behavior outside of the event.
It’s okay to post after the event is over, but since the prompt list is out early, can we post before the official start date?
Preferably not, just so the post doesn’t end up getting buried and so we can have more fun during the official event time. Feel free to start making your content as soon as the prompt list is out, but wait until the actual start date to begin posting.
If anyone has any further questions, please feel free to send questions to this blog. We will continue to update this rule list if anything new comes up. Happy OC content making to everyone participating :D
