Teen!Ozpin is kinda skeptical that he would become a teacher in the future considering the discrimation against Fanus’. Oscar and Ozma is reluctant to elaborate.

Here’s some BB!Oz that I’m testing out. He could walk around now so Birdy is strapped onto his back and Oscar ties some thick stockings for him when it’s cold and to prevent him from easily taking it off.

Bottom right is a little based on a game I saw called “Identity V”. Don’t know much about it but I thought there could be a story idea where BB!Oz either gets into an accident or was kidnapped to turn into a doll for collection. Ironically, he’s more durable physically this way, but it’s harder for him to talk.

It’s been along time since I drew BB!Oz so here’s two with a slightly new hair style and I changed the eyebrow/lashes to black to match the show.

Hmm, I think I drew him a bit too tall in the comic, but it could just be him growing taller and being more aware. He’s a workaholic like his other selves though.

Ok, I held these sketches too long ago I'm gonna release them so I can move on.

If this uploaded in the correct order, this should be about the first time Oscar accidentally asked BB!Oz to summon someone (specifically around his age). So BB!Oz just summons teenager!Oz from the mindscape (Oscar met this version of Ozpin who was his guide to finding Ozma).

Context:

BB!Oz uses his new skill to summon a friend for Oscar and goes into a food coma to recover while Oscar has to deal with a headache and two versions of Ozpin.

Teenager!Ozpin is actually a bit younger than Oscar but his taller height tends to make him seem older and he likes to tease Oscar about it. His adult memories are pretty jumbled since his soul is a mess so he doesn't really know much about the future unless he specifically checks and sorts through his memories.

So right now, Ozma and Oscar are the only ones he knows personally. If asked to check on his memories of Ruby and the others, there might be an issue b/c although they have tentatively started talking again, memories with the strongest emotions will come first and the first thing he'll see is when they were yelling at him and Qrow punching him/Oscar. So yay, awkwardness and mixed feelings...

Here’s some more sorta training for Oscar!

Pic 1 Context:

Oscar and Teen!Oz were having another training session when Oscar actually managed to get a really good hit on Oz. Although Oz is proud of Oscar, Oscar doesn’t like seeing Oz get hurt and Oscar isn’t sure about hurting people (it’s those moments when the student realizes their teacher is not invincible and people can die from your actions). BB!Oz is worried and tries their best to help even if they’re putting a bandage in the wrong spot.

Pic 2 Context:

They borrowed a small swimming pool for Oscar to study magic. He couldn’t get the hang of walking on the water yet so he’s just practicing animating toys in the water (the fishes and duck). BB!Oz was stubborn about his clothes being removed so he shrunk himself. So they stuck him in an arm floatie as a substitute instead (donut colored). Teen!Oz needs a floatie just in case cause wet wings are heavy.

This scene is kinda inspired by a Moomin episode about Witch-Walking. Oscar can’t use too much big magic without storing it, but Ozpin knows tricks to use it effectively for stunts like these.

Of First & Second Meetings

Hey, did you guys ever wonder about how Ozma felt about all this? Welp, life sucks and this isn’t the best of conditions, but he’s thinking it’s ok for now.

I actually made BB!Oz a bit too small for this scene, but I don’t want to redraw it. So the excuse I will use here is that he’s currently storing the magic he gained from Oscar for a special move. At the moment, his mass decreased b/c of this.

Long Context/Lore Ahead! :

Still undecided about the exact nature of Ozma since this will depend on the reincarnation theory I choose, but for now, this version of Ozma raised Ozpin as KoV!Ozma, who was friends with Ozpin’s mother. He taught Ozpin the foundation of magic/aura/fightinig and his mother’s skills which Ozpin used during his undercover career (singing/dancing/acting/etc.).

Although Ozpin can fight the Grimm very well, his primary specialty is actually fighting against humans due to the fact that he’s usually fighting off guards or bounty hunters (fanus hunters/Salem’s people). But it’s also due to the fact that KoV!Ozma has numerous experiences of recently fighting against humans (hunters/bandits) b/c of the war. Adding Ozma’s previous times as a fanus as well, this makes Ozpin ironically really good in close quarter combat despite his fragile bones b/c his opponents wouldn’t suspect it when he reinforces his bones/mass with aura/magic. He’s really good with wacking people with his wings.

Anyway, the reason Ozma is so sad/happy to see BB!Oz is b/c the last time he saw Ozpin, he was being burned alive and he wouldn’t let Ozma take over since there was no chance of recovery and he didn’t want Ozma to feel the fires again. There was a bit of an accident when the reincarnation process started b/c Ozma didn’t want Ozpin to die so he tried to use his magic and Ozpin was worried about Ozma and the people he left behind. When Ozma fails, Ozpin soul splinters off with Ozma into the new host, Oscar. The bit of splintered soul is supposed to integrate into Ozma to receive the full set of memories of his late host, but b/c Ozma used up most of his energy trying to save Ozpin, that bit of Ozpin was left to take over until Ozma recovered.

So the person the RWBYQJNR/Oscar interacted with, is actually and technically, the last bit of Ozpin, the late headmaster. He’s fully aware that’s he dead and that he has a time limit before he merges with Ozma and Ozma will fall into a deep sleep again to process, leaving everyone vulnerable. However, a few events delayed Ozma’s recovery, such as the Jinn flashback - causing PTSD again and forceful control of Oscar, allowing Ozpin to linger longer than expected.

When Oscar accidentally creates BB!Oz with Ozpin, Ozma realizes BB!Oz is the physical manifestation of Ozpin’s splintered soul. If BB!Oz dies, then Ozpin won’t exist to integrate with Ozma (there’s two separate memory sets even though there’s 1 body. A kinda self defense mechanism against mind readers I guess) and whatever knowledge Ozpin was safeguarding will be lost.

Anyway, this scene happens when Ozma wakes up again after Oscar hits LV.2 and he gains enough strength to temporary possess Oscar. Sensing that Ozma wants to talk with BB!Oz, Oscar gives control and some privacy for them. Ozma and Ozpin has a kinda complicated relationship b/c Ozma protected Ozpin when he was younger, but Ozpin does it too when he gets older and whenever Salem is involved. Messy emotions for everyone. You can see this when BB!Oz still tries to comfort Ozma even when he’s the one who is baby.

First pic is just BB!Oz napping in Oscar’s scarf. Oscar and Ozma is a little worried if biting his wing will mess it up somehow.

However, in the second pic, BB!Oz is trying to rescue his wing while trying to keep Qrow warm with his cape. It’s a hard life for a beeb.

Sorry, but I’ve been having a kinda artblock and the lines weren’t coming out the way I wanted. The top left was actually drawn about a week ago while the rest was the last 2 hours. I could do more but I been stalling on my shopping.

BTW, I got distracted with some new/old shows again (Kimetsu no Yaiba/Moomin/Shaman King). All incredibly great and distracting shows. :)

Anyway, context:

This takes place after Oscar hits LV.2. BB!Oz goes into a deep sleep along with Ozma and when he wakes up, he can now speak a bit more. So the first thing he does is congratulate Oscar cause that’s what his older self would’ve done. :)

This is messy and is not about BB!Oz exactly, but this is the preclude and the beginning of Headmaster!Ozpin’s first interaction with Qrow and how it defines their relationship afterwards.

If you want to see how this fits in the Birb Fanus!Ozpin AU and some more deep plot points, keep reading. Otherwise, it’s just Ozpin and young!Qrow hanging on the side of a cliff after the edge broke off.

Context: On Ozpin’s side, this is his 4th time meeting Qrow who is now about 17-18~ years old while Ozpin is about 10~ years older (?). However, this is his first time meeting Qrow without wings and it took him a bit of a while to realize this Qrow was the same child he met when he was younger (his vague familiarity with Qrow was what made him decide on the cliff launching test when he saw the skirt). Qrow is still having trouble socializing with his peers and team so Ozpin is started wandering around tall places while reminiscing old memories. It was not long before Qrow was called in for causing trouble and Ozpin suggested meeting up near the cliff area since he was already there and Qrow knows the location.

On Qrow’s side, he doesn’t remember or know the name of the fanus whom he saved and was saved by since he was so young. He thought those meetings were dreams of an imaginary friend. When he first saw the headmaster, he thought Ozpin looked familar, but not right so that made him feel strangely irritated and confused (not to mention getting launched). When he was sent to the headmaster, he was grumpy but figured this was a good way of gathering info for Raven. Again, when he saw the headmaster aginst the background of the evening sky, he thought the image seemed wrong. However, Ozpin didn’t speak down to him and actually listened to his frustrations with integrating with school life. Although he still had to be punished for causing trouble, Qrow had a feeling things at school won’t be so bad with Ozpin around.

Of course, naturally, this is when his bad luck happened and the cliff edge Ozpin was standing on happened to crumble apart, surprising them both. What surprised them both even more when was Qrow immediately reached out and threw Ozpin back, too being being surprised how light Ozpin was (bird bones) to realize his momentum caused him to fall down the cliff instead.

While he was cursing himself for not bringing his weapon, he absently notes that this is probably better than getting killed (probably by Raven) for causing the headmaster’s death. Of course, while he was distracted, Ozpin jumped and ran down the cliff himself to catch Qrow and jammed his cane into the cliff to bring them into a stop. After some obligatory yelling at each other for being dumb (Qrow yelling at Ozpin for risking his life and Ozpin arguing that Qrow is his responsiblity and student), Qrow couldn’t help but noticed how weird it was for someone to worry about him and how happy Ozpin was that Qrow was safe.

When they both calmed down enough for Qrow to help get Ozpin’s scroll to call for help, Ozpin noticed that Qrow was amazed at how beautiful the scenery was, at a height most people don’t get to see. Despite being in a tense situation where they have a very high chance of death, Qrow was the most relaxed and happiest Ozpin had ever seen. This brought back Ozpin to his own nostalgia of embracing the sky again and was the seeds to him eventually gifting Qrow the power to transform into a Crow.

On Qrow’s side, he was re-evaluating his own life and how being at Beacon was full of annoying things but also many exciting new things in just his first few days! The Headmaster Ozpin especially caught his eye when he saw his cheerful smile after almost falling to their deaths. In this view, Qrow’s image of Ozpin still didn’t match up exactly right, but this happy version of him helped smoothed the feeling of wrongness out of his mind. He was also amazed by how Ozpin didn’t mind Qrow’s bad luck and how he was able to defend and save them both.

After they were both rescued and Ozpin reassured the staff it was nobodies’s fault, just the cliff structural integrity, he collapses from aura exhaustion and his weak body made things worse. This made Qrow fuss over him years later, but Qrow was also the one who snuck Ozpin out of Beacon on short trips when he saw how Ozpin wasn’t let out of the Vale very often due to health and assassin reasons.

A/N: This took about the whole day (?) to edit when it was originally supposed to be 3 hours but that was scrapped when I wanted to color the eyes but that didn’t look right so I colored the background and you can see what happened from there. Then it took about another 2~ hours to write this and make it readable... Especially on mobile/tablet app. (=w=;;;)

The general feeling I wanted to convey was that Ozpin cares about Qrow and Qrow makes him feel alive and happy again. Qrow at this age to the future is amazed that anyone would want to be around him and really feels like Ozpin should be happy more often than mysterious. 

However, after Summer’s death, Qrow spent less time with Ozpin to take care of the girls and they could only support each other from afar; causing Qrow to unconsciously put Opzin on a pedestal and Ozpin to hesitate in sharing secrets/burdens. After Volume 6, the two are struggling to reconcile after Qrow’s words and Ozpin’s secrets. It was only recently that they have started to rebuild their bond that BB!Oz came into existence, allowing more time for Qrow to start wondering about Ozpin’s childhood and the beginning of revealing what happened to Ozpin to change him into the headmaster figure Qrow knew most of his life (Qrow still doesn’t know that Ozpin is the same Fanus who he thinks was an imaginary friend he imagined).

Ok, this is the last one I drew a long while ago so I’m going to have to draw some more actual character interaction soon.

Context:

This is Ozma!Oscar and Teen!Ozpin after an training incident when Oscar was testing an advanced spell that exploded and launched both him and Ozpin off and down a cliff. Caught off guard, Ozpin could only use himself as a buffer to prevent Oscar from getting any serious injuries. Ozma saw how panicked Oscar was over Ozpin’s injuries and unconscious state so he helped take over for Oscar and fed bits of Oscar’s magic until Ozpin woke up. However, until they could get Ozpin to BB!Oz to repair his body, Ozma had to stay in control to properly carry and bring both his kids back to safety.

Possible Idea Note: If Summon!Ozpin gets damaged, he fractures and dissipates until he either disappears back into BB!Oz or receives enough magic to recover on his own. He can absorb energy from eating or aura transfers, but they don’t do much except delay the inevitable. However, if he disappears back into BB!Oz, it’ll take time for BB!Oz to gather and concentrate his magic to summon again.

Note: Actual from the past Ozpin has Brown-Golden brown eyes while BB!Oz and Ozpin after death have gold-ish colored eyes b/c their body is made from magic.

Bottom pic: Teen!Ozpin’s ages varies when he’s summoned so sometimes he’s Oscar’s age and sometimes he’s a young adult. He wears uniforms when he’s not on missions to blend in with students to meet up with Ozma’s friends, but when he grows older, he starts favoring sweaters and cardigans after the loss of his wing.

He’s very versatile with his wings b/c the fanus children he rescues likes messing with them and his mother used to carry him around in her wings when he was a baby as well.

Last part for BB!Oz sneaking up on Qrow.

Context: Just when Qrow finished pumping himself up to start strategizing against a beeb, BB!Oz manages to bypass all of Qrow’s hard earned Hunter/Spy instincts and secure a perch to nap on. He’s still working on Qrow’s name but at least he’s getting closer. :D

Unfortunately, after being completely defeated, Qrow made excuses to leave/check on the others so he could have time to process. So for now, it will just be Oscar, Ozma and Ozpin(s) for the next part until Qrow comes back.

But there might still be filler Qrow stuff that happened before he leaves if I remember to draw it. Just some meme stuff. And I’ll start posting some pics from my twitter since some of them are relevant to the next arc. :)

2nd set of old twitter drawings.

Context:

Not sure where they are but here’s Teen!Ozpin and Oscar hanging around outside. Teen!Ozpin is showing off his guardian potential by feeding/sheltering/entertaining Oscar.

I’m contemplating this idea, but I could set this to around the time Oscar did the mind-dive into his soul to find Ozma. The environment setting is Teen!Ozpin’s memories when he used to go out for missions. However, his Teen!Ozpin’s memories sometimes get mixed up with the other hosts/Ozma’s so he doesn’t have full control of the soulscape.

If I had the skill to draw buildings and such, I want to draw Ozpin and Oscar exploring old, broken down, hidden ruins with lectures and memories of how it was like in the past.
