How do you join the circus? Do you recommend joining the circus?

“I suppose you could say I’m in a type of circus, so I’m qualified to answer this question. It requires a deathly amount of dedication and training, especially if you’re looking to be a frontman (but background performers still have to pull their weight as well!). Different jobs require different practice, though. If you’re not specifically interested in clowning around, there are jobs such as trapeze artist, magician, strongman, acrobat, tightrope walker, et cetera. Clowns are the most common where I’m from, but there aren’t any laws prohibiting working in the other fields I’ve listed. It’s good to get creative and diverse and try different things, so pick the job you think is right for you!”

So you’re a court jester correct? Or something along the lines of a court jester? That sounds fascinating! What is it like? (And as a bonus: Do you have a favorite member of the Dux?)

“Precisely! I act as a form of entertainment for the Dux, the Rectrix (his wife), and whatever guests they may have, along with a number of other clowns who I perform with. Our performances range from plays to pantomiming to stand-up to the simple act of clowning, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. If the exclusive audience has a request, we will gladly fulfill it, even if it means getting hurt. It’s our job.

As for your second question, the Dux isn’t a court - he is a single person. But I’ll tell you my favorite trait about him - he is extremely self righteous and confident in his abilities to govern. That is all I can say.”

If you were allowed outside what places would you be allowed to visit?

“What a nice question! Hm.. I’d love to visit Entesque and observe the houses and views it’s oh-so famous for, and at some point perhaps go out of state and watch plays in other cities. Or I’d simply travel all of Amabalia from head to toe, and then do that again and again until it’s been memorized. Past memories are what keep me the most occupied in the citadel, and as much as I’d like to make new ones, receiving more than a a day or two off sounds like a distant dream.”

What is a rabbit hood?

“I think the concept of animals hoods used in society is only present in where I’m from (as far as I know), so I’ll give a little background; animal hoods are used to measure how many people someone has murdered, specifically how many qualified have killed the non-qualified. People need at least 20 bodies to fit in to qualify. I, having killed about 40 non-qualifiers, am up to being a rabbit hood. If that amount were to increase, my hood status would change. Hopefully that’s sensical sounding enough!”

Hi! It is very, very rare that I use perfect grammar and well punctuated sentences to talk to people over the internet, but here it just feels appropriate. I’m Muffy, the admin of this blog; my friend @septarianflame very much ‘inspired’ me (i.e. willingly told me the steps) to make an ask/RP blog for an OC of mine, which is why I’m here now.

Let’s introduce the woman of the hour:

Cinna Rugger, aged 30, stage name Lollie Pops. By day, she dresses and acts like a regular qualified citizen of Sanctum (more on that later as it’s my original universe I’m working on), and by about 4:00 PM-8:00 PM, 10:00 PM on good days, she is Lollie Pops, clown actively working to entertain the Dux (title to describe leader/king/ruler) of Sanctum. She definitely needs work done in her personality development area, which is what this blog could definitely come in handy for. Ask anything so long as it’s appropriate!

As for Sanctum, I have a whole mess of a Google Doc I can share with people if they’re interested in finding out more on it. TL;DR, though: long family bloodline establishes a new way of governing, it’s extremely corrupt, lots of propaganda, extra gorey, even more murder-y to keep the population in tact, people who are seen as inferior are ‘target practice’ for those who are qualified, there’s animal hoods, et cetera... Pretty dystopian overall.

Anyways, hopefully this post stumbles across the right people. Ask a clown some stuff. 🤡
