a little timeline..

11.07.20  Louis announces in a tweet that “Syco Music and I have agreed to part ways”.

sometime in the first two weeks of July all traces of Sony and Syco are removed* from louis-tomlinson.com (*turns out it is only hidden and still to be found in the page code - still as of 25/7/21)

15.07.20  reports that Sony retained sole ownership of Syco Music from Simon Cowell. “It’s a low-key end for a label..” Syco Music is as good as dead.

17.09.20  Simon Cowell resigns as director from Simco Ltd. He also resigns as director of Triple Strings Ltd. (Louis is still listed as director, but the company is “dormant since incorporation”). Walls was released by 78 Pruductions Ltd “under exclusive licence to Simco Ltd / Sony Music Entertainment”.

10.12.20  LTHQ announces a giveaway for tickets to the livestream. Can’t confirm this, but according to this anon the competition T&C read: “78 Productions is the main organizer of the event” (this also matches Louis’ tweet saying “no major label” was involved in the livestream).

10.05.21  announcement that Louis has signed a global deal with BMG. BMG Rights Management GmbH (also known simply as BMG) is an international music company based in Berlin, Germany. It combines the activities of a music publisher and a record label. - Wikipedia

25.07.21  LTHQ announces another giveaway, this time for the limited HMV vinyl. 78 Productions Ltd is listed as “promoter of this competition”. No mention of Sony nor BMG.

78 Productions Ltd is Louis' own company since incorporated in January 2015. He is the sole owner and director (Jay and Dan used to be named as directors, but for obvious reasons they no longer are). According to Endole the company is a private limited company in the business of 'support activities to performing arts'. It has two employees.

I think we can assume Louis will continue to release his music through 78 Productions Ltd., only now licensed to and globally distributed by BMG.

(additionally I looked into fellow BMG artist Kylie Minogue; her most recent album Disco is listed as “© & ℗ 2020 Kylie Minogue/Darenote Limited under exclusive license to BMG Rights Management (UK) Limited”. Darenote is Kylie’s company, similar to Louis’ 78 Productions)

Following the completion of her promotional activities with the "Golden Tour" in 2019, the artist began working on a new album, enlisting producers such as Sky Adams, Teemu Brunila, and Biff Stannard, among others. Kylie continued work on the record from her home in London, due to COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, and received engineering credits for vocals and synths.

The album was stylistically influenced by various sounds of the Disco genre, which was initially influenced through segments of her "Golden Tour". Musically, "Disco" combines elements of nu-disco, funk, dance-pop, and pop music, and explores themes of love and intimacy, fun, unity, and celebration. She also received songwriting credits for each track on the album. Music critics praised "Disco" for its catchiness and upbeat nature, as well as her return to Disco music. As a result of its critical success, it was included on various end-of-year lists published by various publications and was nominated in categories at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards and 2021 ARIA Music Awards.

"Disco" was a commercial success, debuting at number one on record charts in her native Australia, the United Kingdom, Scotland, and Ireland. It was also in the top ten in Germany, Switzerland, France, Spain, and New Zealand. It was certified Gold by the British phonographic industry (BPI) for shipments of 100,000 units.
