I'm so glad to have encountered a fellow Cecil stan. I freaking love coming up with headcanons for Cecil, platonic or romantic, because he's such an interesting character. For real though feel free to dump any Cecil headcanons (platonic or romantic) on me anytime.
AWAAAA!! YES HAII OTHER CECIL AFICIONADO !!! im so glad theres more of us sprouting out here. my wife is so underappreciated, you have no idea how much he means to me. i'd love to req n swap headcanons anytime !! I have so many thoughts on that morally ambiguous gilf.
Tumblr media
[messy, disorganized surface level autism rambling ahead. this will be just random scenes and characteristics i like of him]
BUT YES .. cecil's character is just so interesting to analyze. he does unethical, necessary things. But he doesn't subscribe to idealistic notions of "the greater good" or justifying his actions to make himself sleep better at night. He knows the harsh reality that someone has to make the difficult decisions, no matter how unethical. The psychological toll it takes to calculate how many civilian lives can be spared, and how many are inevitably lost in order to achieve the optimal outcome. He doesn't celebrate after victories like the other heroes do. After the dust settles, his mind is already racing - calculating, strategizing how to prevent future catastrophes. How to minimize casualties next time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
his methods are...questionable,, as ive said,, but there's a hint of nobility to it that just makes you respect him, A SHADY GOVERNMENT CHAR that does the dirty work and takes in all the heat for it so no one else has to? SIGN ME TF UP! i love exploring his character and all the little glimpses of humanity we get to see from him,, especially with debbie, SO SOFT FOR HER, there's so much depth there. that old fuck would MOVE mountains for her if he could,, TRUST. EVEN though he doesnt deserve her .. <<
LETS CONTINUE TO CIRCLE BACK TO S1 with his confrontation w Nolan in the desert, the way he entrusted his survival to the skills of his team operating that teleporter watch (I'm aware he can control it himself, I think this was just my interpretation of it since the employees seemed directly involved here). The margin for error was nonexistent. One miscalculation, one millisecond too slow, and Cecil would have been reduced to a red smear across miles of sand. MY WIFE HAS BALLS ON HIM. (also love walton goggins breathy lil giggles here .. hwaghffhh)
All this, All the whilst Nolan could have ended him with a casual backhand, as easily as swatting a fly. And for what? For humanity's (mostly his) right to know the truth. For Debbie's right to understand what she had truly married because Cecil respects her that fucking much for her to have a part in all of this, and what fate may lay in store for her son.
AND what I particularly liked about that scene is that unlike most SHADY GOV CHARS ™.. Cecil isn't afraid to regularly place himself in life-threatening situations, and for that im just.. FKING obsessed. finally. a hyper competent gov char that gets shit done and occasionally by his own hands instead of always puppeteering in the shadows. Love u .. love u honey snooch, please stop putting yourself in danger for your crazy alien side-hoes .
Tumblr media Tumblr media
but ahem ... back to s2.. and some flaws of his that i'm not afraid to point out. the way he's been treating mark is killing me. manipulating my son by comparing him to his dad then keeping him on lock by saying he's not like him??? The breadcrumming definitely didn't work out at all, cuz Mark is too damn stubborn to continue to be swindled by fear tactics he does not give a shit for anymore (homegirl DEBBIE taught him better) hes not gonna listen to a cranky skullet-having side bitch of nolans who clearly has been tryna manipulate him since s1. i HATED how he went "ur broke tyrannical bitch father felt the same way" in the last minute when mark tried to leave earth and yet i still lobve ceci cause ough,,.. my bastard wife knew something was probably up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Him wanting to keep a short leash on MARKY could be summed up after all that has happened in s1. i'm not going to justify his scummy manipulations or paranoia,, especially after all the shit mark has done and endured to prove himself over and over again that he's not like his father BUT its somewhat understandable for cecil 2 be wary if you look from it in his perspective.
moving on from that, lets dive back into ep 2 ..
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Debbie was semi-right in her deduction in s2 ep2, that this is what it's really all about for Cecil - being in control. Not of any situation, but of Mark. To ensure history does not repeat itself in the form of Mark becoming another Nolan. imo He likely doesn’t actually view Mark as his father, Not saying the possibility of it being a part of Cecil's subconsciousness is out of the equation but the way I see it? He was just exploiting that one weakness, that one insecurity Mark has - the fear of becoming like Nolan. And it’s a fear Cecil seemed to prey upon to keep Mark under his thumb and in the fucking GAME.
Tumblr media
awaaaa :3 !!!! psychologically damaging teens by comparing them to their abhorrently shitty fathers !! FUCK YOJ STEDMAN (love you snookums..)
,,,,I'd also like to think in my warped deluded perception (aka hcs) that he sees Debbie in Mark, so he can't help but care for the kid too. IVE ALWAYS seen a lot of comparisons between Mark and his dad, plus the whole motif of this new season hasn't helped it allay. But Debbie and Mark share so many similar characteristics as well and i wish that was talked a bit more often < 3 (I will go in depth about it at a later post.)
Tumblr media
n umm like ...,,, bck to cici in gen. I guess the safety of earth is one of Cecil's redeeming qualities along with his compassion for side characters like Debbie. His pragmatism and utilitarianism define him. He lacks normal morals but has his own code that cultivates to his character. this ramble could not do justice to him ughfglg..,, what a compelling jezebel.. how can u captivate me so !!
My inbox is always open to discuss this multi-faceted rat man. here's to more cecil content in s2..,... hopefully with more of his dynamic with Debbie because I LIVE for that shit. though its unlikely their interactions could range to anything positive now since they may be hinting to cecil becoming an antagonist and/or taking extreme measures w/ mark. soo.. i dont think debbie's scolding was enough for that slut 2 take in ..
in the mean time i'll be catching up on the comics/re-reading them, look up more of his backstory and hopefully create 10 novels worth of google docs of analysis' of his character < 3 cuz .. he means .. that much 2 me.. and i want to prod at every crevice n brain matter he has inside that megamind head of his .
Tumblr media Tumblr media
((hwaghhhhhh << hoping that one day the discord moots ive been keeping in my basement and most invincible fans fall victim to cecil stedman propoganda.. no one should be immune to my girlboss and his awful skullet.))

There was a good amount of people last week hoping that today's episode of Invincible would've ended with Mark being stranded in that wasteland dimension as a cliffhanger for Season 3, yet there is something much more poignant having the episode and season end with Nolan's "I think I miss my wife." line. It just makes sense.

Just finished s2 of Invincible and I know it's such a common trope for superheroes to not kill and sacrifice themselves instead, but seeing Mark hesitate to kill the Viltrumite knowing that she was going to use his hesitation against him was incredible. Nolan told him straight up that it was Mark or them and Mark still couldn't bring himself to kill. And then that conversation between Debbie and Art really brought it full circle. Mark not killing even when doing so would hurt him was 100% Debbie's upbringing. They both feel lost without Nolan, which is understandable, but Art's right: they really don't need him. Nolan needs them.
Edit: and I've never read the comics but my guess is that the other universes where Mark helps his dad conquer Earth are ones without Debbie. She's the real hero <3

I've only watched an episode of Invincible and a few clips, but I am a firm believer of Cecil / Debbie. It is morally correct.

Normally I am indifferent to more suggestive material on this site (asexual introvert) but your RLGL AU has grabbed my attention and doesn’t seem interested in letting it go. The art is lovely, the character interactions are charming, and the plot crumbs that we currently have promise to lead us to a marvelous gingerbread house of a story.
If I may request an extra lore crumb, there is something I would like to know. How do the management at Sun and Moon’s job treat the employees? Are they decent enough folks, or are they someone who would end up in a Reddit story for managers from Hell?
Hi! Am so happy that you like the rlgl au! The main focus of the au is kinda the comedy of the situation and not the redlight concept itself which probably makes the whole thing more digestable to people who arent really into that kind of stuff. I really want to make more for it soon!!
So Management at Faz co is a mixed bag. There are nice enough people working in management who look after the bots rights and try their best but there are also, well less nice people. For instance after the scandal (which i will elaborate on eventually) the guys got their luxus flat with allround service, that was paid for by Faz co, taken away and had to find their own living space. Essentially stranding two guys who never had to care for themselves before, without any help. Management didnt care past the, "they lost money for the company" and even if there was someone high up who wanted to help, they really couldnt
Management only really acts in the interest of the company and if a bot is not usefull anymore they get "sold" to a privat bidder, a shady deal because legally they are people and that would be considdered trafficking but rich people do not care(yea thats what happened to bonnie). So i guess the guys really are lucky that they still are so popular...
So i guess yea, Management is pretty bad...

i am like actively so ill about the way shameless highlights generational trauma and parallels between abusive family members. ian exhibiting the same manic / depressive episodes as monica makes me so sick and unnormal. debbie immediately responding to mickey saying “yes, we know what this is.” because it’s something they’ve dealt with all their life and now their brother is going through it. their brother that they love is beginning to resemble their abusive mother through no fault of his own and it’s sick and twisted and amazing writing.

Can you tell us more about Debbie??? Because she is my favorite character!!! :D
Tumblr media
DEBBIE!! Absolutely >:3
Debbie is my tiny energetic ball of sass, she's loud she's proud and she's so much more fearless than a lot of people give her credit for. People, in the universe I mean.
She's the youngest at 17 coming on 18, and the shortest, and she's often perceived as immature and overly unrealistic, but only because she's so straightforward and blunt about her thoughts and opinions. She does not wait to blurt out her own plan or her own suspicions, but rarely do a lot of people take her seriously. She often needs Vilmr as a back up for support to her word. So, like, she tends to be pretty fussy as a result of not being respected by the group at large.
In her own friend circle she is very used to being the leading voice of things-- her bestie Samantha is quiet, easygoing and very passive, her close second Vilmr is serious and a bit blunt himself, but he doesn't like to be put in the spotlight, and Michael is just too nice to do anything but go along with whatever Debbie decides the group is doing on any given day.
But back to the rest of the group, she is no longer that leaderly voice, so she ends up amplifies herself so much more. Jumps in the face of danger way more than she ought to, to prove that she's just as tough and serious as everyone else. Many think this is reckless, but Vilmr is a continuing source of support towards her fearlessness.
Her and Vilmr's dynamic is a mimic of Chickenstab and Rede. She's short and loud and seems to have endless energy, and she tugs around her blind green friend everywhere she goes. They're a package deal just like Cstab and Rede too. You will almost always find Vilmr by Debbie's side.
So when she is kept away from Vilmr, her true colors tend to bleed through a little more. She can get argumentative if she feels like she's not getting the respect she tries hard to earn, and without a second voice to help carry her opinions she tends to act overall more stubborn and disagreeable. She can get extremely hotheaded, in some cases.
BUT! When all is well, she tends to be the source of motivation for a lot of the team. Her neverending enthusiasm for just doing things really helps get people in the mood of... yknow. Actually doing things. Even if she jumps headfirst into danger to prove herself, it's that push to action (to save her scrawny ass) that often gets everyone moving.
Not to mention, she's also a source of some pretty decent wisdom. She tends to see things through a different lense than most, she likes to make big assumptions and step outside the basics. While she doesn't always get it right, be it from lack of experience or otherwise, when she does drop some heavy wisdom it's often something not even the brightest of minds have considered yet.
Again though, it's hard for people to take her word seriously because of how she presents herself. However, she will never stop being her despite how often she faces this disrespect. She is a source of inspiration (which she doesn't realise, but if she ever did she'd be so hype) because of how true she remains to herself. She WILL wear her dragon costume on this serious world-saving journey, she WILL make dragon jokes every step of the way, and thats HER and there's NOTHING you can do to stop it.
She would be ecstatic to know that she's somebody's favorite 0u0!

I hate when people say that Fiona was the best parent to the kids when she really wasn’t. I mean she was 9 when she first started raising them so obviously she wouldn’t be, I mean yes she kept a roof over their head, but that’s about it??? She wasn’t there for them emotionally, and she had them paying bills at age 9. She didn’t even know the kids properly, I mean she had Debbie and Carl running a whole business for the summer (giving them no time to themselves) and getting surprised when Debbie doesn’t have friends. Like girl what do you expect she’s working for you all day then has to sleep of course she doesn’t have friends 💀💀 She didn’t bat an eye when Ian just disappeared too like ?? That’s your brother who you have legal guardianship over you should at least notice and show a little concern if he’s gone for almost a year, the only one who cared was Debbie and people have the audacity to call her the selfish one?!

I wish I enjoyed My Adventures with Superman more, but every character development or major event felt either too soon or too fast. Lois and Clark falling in love and that speech from Jimmy from the last episode felt too much to soon because even if one day the showrunners say that like 6 months passed throughout season 1, as a viewer it feels like Superman has been in Metropolis and Lois and Clark have known each other for like 2 weeks tops.

maybe i’m just easily annoyed (and the news is depressing), but i feel like people on here (or the internet in general lbr) are more willing to criticize/dismiss (even label unrelated things as) “white feminism” (even if it’s bringing up important/relevant issues) than talk about feminism at all. sexism exists in every community you can think of, within every race, ethnicity, social class, religion, nationality, sexuality, what-have-you. it’s easier and more entertaining ig to point out how feminism is lacking or who’s doing feminism “wrong” then attempt to bridge/fill the gaps and actually, Seriously Talk about sexism in detail (and not like it’s some sort of 2nd tier, we’ll circle back to this much later, type of oppression which i Really get the impression of, even within supposedly-progressive spheres) on the regular and not as a series of gotcha posts that get enthusiastically reblogged for a blip in time and then. crickets. like as far as the patriarchy’s concerned (like if i’m looking at this from their perspective), this nitpicking appears very divide-and-conquer. nothing goes anywhere. and things just keep slipping backwards. maybe i’m crazy (maybe i’m way off base), but isn’t feminism meant to help All women, even the ones you dislike? even the ones you hate? like what’s going on here? am i missing something?

my favorite reoccurring shameless bit is when two characters are having a “conversation” and by conversation i mean both of them are talking about two totally different things that they want. it’s so stupid and funny every time.
