Curious how many companies at the start of the pandemic, when everyone was temporarily firing their employees so that they could collect unemployment, abused it like my dad’s company did where they made him - one of their most valued employees for almost 3 decades - not only work but work overtime cause they fired everyone else while unemployment paid him less than a third the usual pay he would be getting, and then pitifully threw him an extra hundred bucks as compensation after several months of forcing him through the humiliation of depending on his son just to eat and make rent.

i think itd be really funny if hiei didnt realize who kurama truly was for a while after they meet. kurama introduces his name to him as just "kurama," and im sure theres More Than One demon kurama, so its not like hiei would immediately assume hes THE infamous youko kurama. and kurama doesnt tell him, because hes a silly lil fox with much patience and finds much amusement in waiting and seeing how long itll take hiei to realize.

and its not like kurama tries to be subtle either. he gets a fox keychain on his backpack, hiei notices it and asks its purpose. kurama says its just a fun decoration, which hiei dismisses as stupid.

kurama eventually mentions having a tail in his old body. hiei realizes he was an animal demon, but doesnt care which he may have been, because what would it matter?

kurama also does not keep quiet about the fact he was and still is a thief. there are a lot of thieves in the makai, though, things dont click in hieis mind yet.

hiei turns down much of kuramas attempts to "pry into his life" (as he sees it) at first, and doesnt want to pry into kuramas either. he wants to keep their partnership as just business, he has no interest in getting all buddy-buddy (he will also not think into at all why he likes looking at kurama, it doesnt mean anything if he doesnt think about it). BUT. he does end up becoming very curious, because how could he not with a demon in a human body, that has such an unusual situation and loads of knowledge and skill?

kurama told him at least that his soul had escaped to the body of an unborn human before he was able to perish. hiei wondered how long ago that happened, and asked kurama how old his human form is. "14," kurama tells him.

at this point hiei is still able to return to the makai, and he goes to retrieve some various seeds kurama needs for weapons/medicine and such. a good way he can be useful for their partnership- he doesnt want it to be one-sided after all- and plus kurama equipped with more items would defintely be helpful for him as well.

on one trip he eavesdrops on some bandit hideout he discovers- nothing interesting they got there, but information they speak about could come in handy. a very unimpressive-looking demon mentions that theyre gonna become the next youko kurama (hiei manages to keep himself from snorting, but not from rolling his eyes). another demon says that theyve been hearing rumors that youko kurama died for over a decade now, but they still dont believe it. says they bet he faked his death so he can catch some big shot off guard and take em for all theyve got.

this conversation doesnt make him question anything until later, when hes relaxing in a tree back in the ningenkai. its late, and his mind starts to wander and remembers the conversation. hes always heard a lot of tales about the king of thieves, but doesnt know how much may be factual. he offhandedly wonders if kurama happens to know any concrete details, since hes proven to be very knowledgeable about many things.

then it clicks. all the little details over the months fall into place in his mind and hes suddenly wide awake and rushing to kuramas house. he slams kuramas sliding window open, and kurama startles and halts from brushing his hair. he sternly tells hiei to be careful, that glass can break easily, and that sound could have woken his mother. shes a light sleeper and needs her sleep! hiei doesnt comment on that, and just urgently says "kurama. what kind of demon are you?"

kurama blinks for a moment, then chuckles. he gives hiei a wicked grin as he replies "youre just now figuring out who i am, are you?" "kurama," hiei repeats, "what are you?" he sees a mischievous glint in those green eyes that almost looked gold before kurama answers "why, a youko, of course."

i have these motifs for reigen and roshuuto and implemented in some level in pretty much everything ive done so i figured its about time i made an au especially for them, so, presenting, kitsune reigen and tanuki roshuuto

they know each other for a long time but arent nescessarily close, they bump into each other every couple of decades and catch up (mostly a competition to see whos better off), since theyre the only other yokai they know they (mostly by instigation by roshuuto) created some sort of rivalry. by the time the reigen manga starts they havent see each other for a long time but roshuuto recognized him from his scandal on tv and decided to drop by, the time after that is the longest theyve kept in contact

reigen was always intrigued by humans and eventually decided to try out living as a human (he already disguised himself as human pretty often but it was never for a long time), roshuuto once bumped into reigen while he was human and after explaning himself roshuuto tried out as well, after that they mostly stay human

i tried to do my research -- no joke, it's been like 5 months of me doing the equivalent of immersion therapy for fandoms -- and i gotta say that while i can understand mcu Bucky fans cuz at least he got that title movie a decade ago, but i do not understand comic Bucky fandom.

like they're all obsessed with portraying Bucky -- who mind u is the oldest CA cast member since he's the only one who matches Steve's prehistoric age -- as like... a child. like the child of every single person, even ppl 20, 60, 80 years younger than him.....

and not just trying to re-interpret/re-portray him like a child dynamic-wise, but like they have a weird fascination with making him -- again mind u, the only other old ass supersoldier in the cast besides Steve unless u count random sidecharacters -- smaller and childlike and putting him in the "retro" "campy" outfits from the thrice-retconned-over (&hella racist!) oldtimey propaganda comics that were left in the past for good reason (racism)! not just bc theyve been retconned to hell n back

but that's not the weirdest part, actually. on top of all this weird OOC-ness comic Bucky fandom pushing onto the 2nd oldAssMan's dynamics w/ the other characters, & on top of fandom to "de-age" him, they all be doing the opposite for Steve and shipping him w/ Bucky -- who again, mind u are like e/o's only agemates in the cast -- and turn it into a weird d@ds0n shipping thing... even the cis dudes not even into shipping be makin jokes w their fangirl mutuals who do that!!

and not all of it feels like genuine shipping, but ALL of it feels like an extended homophobic joke all the comic fans are making w the character... it feels like a gross p*d*r*sty joke they're all in on, and coming from the outside it, it feels so gross.

What are some of your gripes with how marvel has written things in the last 20 or so years?

Basically i used to be soo into marvel comics then I stopped being into them but now I'm trying to get back into them but I used to be such a hater and I hated so many writers but now I can't remember why I hated them it's actually infuriating😭 like all I remember is matt fraction hawkeye (yay) and quicksilver no surrender (very good) but ik marvel has committed some crimes against me but I can't remember what they were :(( I remember not liking trial of magneto atleast☹️

i think my biggest thing is changing things to reflect the mcu. like people defend it because it makes comics easier for new readers and. no it fucking doesnt. and its so PETTY. like they killed off the fantastic four because they didnt have the cinematic rights to them. they tried to replace mutants with inhumans because they had the rights to one of them and not the other. but then after a while they DO get the rights to them and have to change it back??? they make themselves look dumb as fuck and its not a writer decision, its a decision made as a company and then everyone else has to work around even when it doesnt make sense. and it affects decades old beloved characters/franchises for the sake of some billion dollar faux cheap 2+ hr minor disappointment. i can experience that for free in my day to day life.

then everything also has to be an Event like. nothing can just happen in one issue anymore. or like 20 issues in the same comic. which is because they wanna change you £28497 instead of just like £20 back in ye olden days. there's a trend going here u will notice

THEN since you bought up matt fraction hawkeye. not paying their fucking writers or artists for using their shit!!!!! everything in comics now seems like its just used for the sake of the mcu. like they either test out stupid shit in comics so they can then do it in the mcu, they take stylistic choices from artists and writers that worked in comics and use them to make way more money than the original creators ever did

the tl;dr is that comics feel like mcu fodder now instead of their own entity like. 99% of them feel very cheap n like. soulless. like the recent death of kamala. why. what is the point. so they can make it match the mcu and bring her back as a mutant. but it makes her whole death meaningless and shes a much better character than that. he first solo was so heartfelt and personal but they make everything too Big and World Ending because in a 2 hours movie, it HAS to be. comics arent like that. where are the filler issues and the team ups just for fun. idk i think theyve changed comics into something more than they are recently n its just not something that works for the medium imo. silly little picture books should just be silly little picture books and some big money making mcu pipeline

june's issues start to really develop and get bad post-game (in my headcanons), so for a long period of time she literally has no one to talk to about it bc she's self-isolating. she eventually tells nannasprite about it when nanna is guilt-tripping her into getting up (nanna voice: Whatever works, hoohoo!), and nanna is like. this is my only granddaughter. i will do whatever i can for her. (i love june & nanna's dynamic. could u tell.) jasprose also is like GIRL!!! You Are In Pain!!! nanna & jasprose team up of the century to get june egbert to Acknowledge Her Problems

dave NO clue NO idea WILL not talk about it. maybe EVENTUALLY tells karkat about it but i don't think she ever seeks out a diagnosis or tries to get one. hes got old ingrained trauma about seeing doctors, which is something he's trying to get over, but like, he already has 4 bajillion other things to unpack about his childhood and healthcare systems are not historically good about chronic pain, a dismissal of their symptoms might set them back in that regard. they're just homebrewing this shit for now.

rose: yeah, she knows. she doesn't talk about it in those terms, though. instead of saying "i have a horrible migraine and cannot get out of bed" she tells kanaya to text the gc that she's afflicted by the Broodfester Woes and cannot join them this evening. theyve sort of picked up by now what that means but she thinks it's funnier this way.

jade: HMMM. i think she put herself through her denial paces but actually i think going grimbark essentially caused her to not feel her chronic pain (a side effect of condy's semi-control over her body), and when she got shunted back into her body she had to face the reality where she DIDNT hurt all the time like wow thats how ppl normally feel? what the fuck????

jane: oh absolutely fucking not does not know. unlike jade, his pain got WORSE during crockertier. yet it still takes literally two decades for him to finally acknowledge that his stuff is NOT normal and the fact that her whole friend group has chronic pain doesn't help, which kind of sucks. jane voice: well sometimes i can get out of bed when i have a headache and rose can't, so clearly its not the same (as if jane doesn't force himself out of bed even when he really shouldnt!!!). roxy has to be the one to tell him.

roxy: yeah she knows it's chronic pain. she's been worried about getting cirrhosis for years, and so has been keeping up to date on her physical health as a result. she figured it out pretty quickly after a couple flareups. trickster mode made it worse for her.

dirk: hal has been telling him for YEARRRRRRRRS that his carpal tunnel is just that, carpal tunnel. and yet. AR: Dirk, if you do not take better care of yourself, you are never going to be capable of building me a body of my own. TT: 1. I'm fine. 2. I'm not building you a body anyways, so the point is moot. anyways he accepts it during the game bc he's like you know what. might as well admit it to myself. good thing, too, because it only gets worse after a couple decapitations.

jake: has pretty much always known, deep down, but like. she lives on an ISLAND. the hell is he going to do about it? no, better not to think about it. someday they'll be able to deal with it, but that day isn't today, and theres so much to do. so he represses it DEEPLY. normal action hero jake english doesn't have chronic pain, of course. she's a heroic manly lead, after all... (the deconstruction of that mindset sort of makes them acknowledge it, though.)

wolfgang lachrymohs (any pronouns) is the REAL commander of the Pact! the ACTUAL dragon slayer! an experienced vigil soldier even before that—with a healthy relationship to the other two orders—as well as a scholar of the arts, skilled illusionist, and general diva. they're not a mesmer anymore, not since the personal story, but it's fine she's normal about it and also fine. still a really good poet anyway and that's enough for them it really is they're fine with that and there's no problems there. his priorities are also totally in order, you win life by being good and strong and cool in as many other important people's eyes as possible obviously

and in the other corner, the only person to have worked closely with the commander and still act like they take him seriously: the Understudy!!!! trahearne's, to be specific. this is still how they identify themself a decade after his death, which is okay because nearly every action they've taken in that decade has been in the interest of resurrecting him. some of their notable practice cases include both miss already and ratthew the vile. they were also aurene's initial champion—as soon as trahearne was missing they tried to let caithe take that over but the Exalted were major pains in the ass about it. they proceeded to dispassionately fulfill their dragon parenting duties until pof when they managed to ceremonially transfer the bond to the commander who was frankly weeping with envy. a win for both of them. aurene's not really sure how she feels about the whole thing. probably kind of bad.

the Understudy likes wolfgang because she led the fight against mordremoth, allows them access to pact resources (including bodies of the fallen), and is trying SO HARD with aurene. also he cooks sometimes. wolfgang likes the Understudy because theyre smart and dedicated and ruthless but still nice to him in their eccentric, moody way, and because so far theyve made her look pretty good. i swear there's some genuine respect in there eventually and maybe even 😳😳😳 friendship??? who knows

board guy works with herbert??? oh no.

well, thankfully it was more of a one time thing. herbert can't stand penguins as we all know, and he ESPECIALLY hates board guy. i mean, herbert hates penguins all the time but if it wasn't for the fact rollys still alive and kicking his butt (metaphorically speaking) i'd say he'd hate him almost as much.

what was the reason board guy joined forces with him? well... * blows dust off old art* before i can tell you that story, i have to tell you this story- which is basically the same story, but with outdated artwork.

this concept is so old, its from the before times when rolly was only dating jet pack guy and wasn't in a polygamous relationship with both jpg and rookie. though the general concept stayed the same (herbert tries to get rid of rolly's beloveds and destroy their chance at a happy wedding). but now that board guy is a thing? it's even more personal- and that's precisely why he teams up with herbert. there's a reason, after all the brady's by tank and the bangas is a very board guy song in my eyes!

see...this actually is the second time board guy tried taking matters into his own hands (with rolly, anyways). see, given the chaos during operation: blackout and the epf's cameras being down...and given the idea of it was crazy at the time...

well, nobody suspected board guy, who simply handed off a spare jetpack to rolly to have sabotaged it himself (which caused him to crash, and jpg went down to save him, which led to the crabs capturing jpg and forcing rolly to watch...). as far as everyone, including rolly knew, it was a crab that sabotaged it...even if the cut wires were pretty cleanly cut.

so! operation honeymoon: lets get into that shall we?

it doesn't have a set year, but...i imagine by the time it happens, scrabble and gin are reformed and agents and chauncey and mukluk are agents as well, and as for torrent? well, i dont know if they're reformed by now...but either way, theyre in epf custody and

so, jpg, rookie, and rolly have been going steady for several years- maybe even a decade by the time they decide to get hitched. the agency is thrilled for them. three hardworking agents getting together AND an excuse to have free cake, because they're allowed to all come and see the wedding? awesome!

...well, everyone except board guy. he can't stand the idea of rolly getting with jpg, let alone rookie. cant jpg see HE'S the perfect option?! ...maybe if he got those two out of the way, he'd come to his senses... and so, after tracking herbert down a week before the wedding...he barely manages to tell him he has a deal for him before he can get held hostage!

board guys demand is simple: he will help herbert gain access to the epf by inviting him under an alias (probably something super normal...like nat e. vil) and destroy the wedding, rolly, and rookie, and herbert has to spare jpg. herbert plans to harm jpg anyways, but agrees so board guy gives him access.

one way or another, rolly and rookie are captured first- rookie is sent to the crab army to deal with, but rolly in particular is trapped in the abandoned mineshaft far out in the wilds herbert found...and oh, whats this? after catching his father in the act, richter gets trapped down there too. oops!

so, i imagine board guy tries to desperately convince jpg that finding his partners is a lost cause and how he can find the better option really easily etc etc. naturally jpg tells him to fuck off, and board guy sulks, but doesnt press the matter further...for now. he'll come around, right? riiiiight?

so, rolly and richter bicker for a bit about what they should do- rolly was injured in the fall and sprained his leg, so moving the boulders herbert ended up blocking the entrance with is a no-go, and theyve never even been in this cave before...until they notice a gold puffle that quickly scampers off after seeing them. having no other choice but to hope they could find the gold puffle and somehow convince it to help them get out, they follow it (richter carrying rolly so his injury doesnt worsen) and uh...OOPS. it leads them right to na!

as much as rolly would love to freak out at them at that moment, and as much as na would like to bolt, richter brings them up to speed about the cave enterance and asks if theres another way out. na reluctantly confesses during the decade they've been gone, they managed to connect a tunnel to one of the unused cart surfing tunnels- they even made a homemade cart from some of the stuff they sto- FOUND. stuff they found. rolly doesnt really trust them but he doesnt have a choice, and the three of them + chance escape.

meanwhile, i imagine rookie surprisingly had a easy time convincing the crabs not to harm him by appealing to their better nature! that, and offering to help them make delicious new recipes since they're sick of eating plain old fish and seaweed, what with undersea cooking appliances being virtually nonexistent, and penguin food being a bit of a delicacy they can only really enjoy whenever theyre on land (even crabs hate soggy pizza!)

in the chaos of the epf trying to find two of its leads, and after board guy goes off to sulk, jpg is captured and tied to a rocket. rookie and rolly save him, and they head back to confront board guy.

they reunite with jpg and just as board guy gets REALLY angry, na tells him to stop. hes stunnd, and so are the rest of the agency. they explain their time away from society made them realize they were wrong. they were wrong, and most of all by letting board guy get to this point, they feel like they failed him by not coming back sooner and getting him to let go of his grudge against rolly and rookie. board guy flies off the handle, but because hes out numbered he swears himself an enemy of the agency, drops the bombshell that he was the reason rolly crashed, and flees in the resulting chaos. herbert mutters something about klutzy being the only good lackey, before he and klutzy teleport away while the getting is good.

I need like. I need just one person at Ubisoft to become the dedicated timeline guy I dont know how they keep doing this. Like. Far Cy 3 is one thing that game's like a decade old and you have multiple comic adaptations with no real expectation of consistency between them. but like. we're in a post wiki era and far cry 5 came out like 4 years ago why is it so hard to just have basic information written down in a dev document somewhere containing information like "how long has the cult been around" "where did it start" "how old are these guys". Even within the game its like. Depending on who youre talking to the cult has either been a low profile organization until extremely recently when they had the firepower to start repelling law enforcement...or theyve been abducting and torturing whole families for years and no ones tried to stop them before

thinking about yaz saying the doctor can drop them back wherever they want:

It's like we're living at different rates. YASMIN: The Doctor said we wouldn't come back the same. DOCTOR: I was thinking Frankenstein.  

im assuming thats what the doctor told them. im assuming yaz didnt just assume that on her own.

in the first episode yaz asks “is this normal for you”:

YASMIN: So everything we saw, everything we've lied to people about, is this normal for you?

clara voice: you lied and now you made me lie, youve made me your accomplice!

ive said this before but i dont think 13 needed to tell or ask them to lie, i think she took the lead, gave an example and they followed. i think it’s similar with how the doctor went about setting the rules of travelling. i dont know if they discussed the travelling schedule, i imagine there must have been Some discussion. but i think 13 would offer when they can be back without being asked. like she said the disclaimers when they asked to come and she asked if they knew what they were signing up for and if they were sure. so i think she would have also offered this freely. i can get you back to any point, whenever you want.

it’s interesting bc you wonder what she was thinking when she offered that. my first thought is approximately right back to when they left. the same way she brought them back in 11x4 to half an hour after 11x1. and the same way she comes back in revolution thinking it’s the same day she left them in 12x10. i think that first of all shes offering them the chance to not miss any time with their families and friends. that doesnt entirely work bc as ryan says “we’ll have changed, they wouldnt have” but thats no issue from the doctor’s immortal perspective. she didnt really change in the decades in prison.

so thats the main thing i think she was offering, to get some adventures and never be missed. hide all this, hide all these experiences, this entire life, from their loved ones. i dont think she even thought about that. i think that was just intuitively the logical thing to offer. absolute compartmentalisation.

but another thing thats also offered in “whatever point you want”, is a point thats not even in your life. she probably wouldnt take you back to before you were travelling bc there’d be two of you and thats not ideal for the timelines, but any other time? before you were born? a hundred years after? or just a couple of weeks into the future, or a couple of years, skip 5, whos gonna notice that? i think you can get away with 5 years, whos gonna suspect time travel.

anyway, i have no real thoughts here i just think it’s a fun offer to think about. it’s a fun offer to think about 13 making. i can really hear clara’s accusatory “youve made me your accomplice!” in it. she made them lie and she made them keep up the lie and i dont think she ever gave them any other option.and it’s interesting for her to make this offer. an offer that feels natural to her, but for companions is actually like, kind of a difficult question right?

i just think she doesnt imagine their perspectives a lot. and i think thats why she probably would be surprised with how well they know her if they voiced it. i mean she is surprised in 12x5 when ryan says very determinedly “youre the doctor”. the three of them together i think understand and have guessed a lot about her and i even think theyve shared some of what theyve seen especially in s12, i think they had meetings about her. they kinda did in 12x5.

so idk tldr i guess is i think the fam get her shoes a lot better than she gets theirs. i dont think shes even tried all that much. i dont think it has occured to her to think about how cancer has affected graham, or how he and ryan mourned grace, or who ryans friends are, or whether yaz had any, or what her relationship to her family is like. i dont think she has thought to think about any of that.

i think they might have mentioned things here and there. ryan mentions his old job in kerblam and i feel like friends maybe at some point too? graham comes to her in 12x7. she knows yaz was bullied from witchfindesr. but i doubt she FOLLOWED UP on any of that. i dont think she’d ask further questions. she closed herself off Completely when graham came to her for Emotional Support, i doubt she’d open doors to that kinda thing voluntarily. and i think maybe she wouldnt even want to spend much time thinking about it. thinking about the lives she took these people from. just focus on the here and now. no yesterdays no tomorrows

How many languages do they speak? Do they have any sort of accent?

he speaks the dialect of missed common/elvhen that the dalish do, and he hasnt really had experience talking to humans before - while some clanmates do go trading with humans or run into them while out and about, he, as first, mainly studied and minded his business. sometimes he has a bit of a "did i miss something" problem like merrill, because of being unfamiliar with some words and idioms of the non isolated widely accepted common.

i have rambled five thousand million times about how the isolated lifestyle of the dalish clans and trying to integrate as much elvhen as they can produced its own dialect - or rather dialects, as it varies from clan to clan. so the form he speaks is also different from what hes picked up from rin (as they got separated at like, 10-early tweens?), to which she reacts with both academic curiosity (as she tries to collect and compile and redistribute as much elvhen used from clan to clan as possible) and mock dramatic outrage (see the iconic carrots at subway convo)

he does start picking up on common and bits and pieces of other non-common language from all the companions of various origins.

How did their relationship progress? If they’re a canon romance option, is their story different from the way the game presents it?

ok im being dramatic. but it starts as "cassandra is intimidating", then "...but also very beautiful 😍", then they have their points of contention re: him denying being the herald, him recruiting the mages, but in the end when cassandra cools down she respects that he Got Things Done... and in the dark future he saw what itd be like to lose her (and her, never broken, ever resolute, ready to fight for the tiniest glimmer of hope he brought) and in the haven destruction she saw what its like to lose him and. well. that hurted

then when hes aware that he Really Does Have Feelings for her cassandra starts Running from her own feelings (as she does). but even though theyre different and have different outlooks on how to do things she sees him care about her as a person! help her with the fallout of the seekers and come to look for them for her and support her in rebuilding the seekers because it Matters to her and believing she can make things better...

(tbh cassandra is so self depreciating oftentimes? she is Not used to being cared about and to deserving good things and such? no cass u deserve the world???)

and yeah it does get her to face her feelings. and as i said, get the good things she does not think shes allowed to have

and then theyre finally happy together.

(oh and also actually realizing, i think he could understand her loss of a sibling at the start as by then hes presumed rin dead for like a decade. rin gets better though xx)

longer term, their interfaith-ness is a key factor, and one thing the game definitely doesnt present is the resolution of it. he gets to understand how she needs her faith and how she wants to turn things to the better with it. he wants for her to believe in him as him, not as the herald of andraste, theyd come to some gradual understanding about it over time. it may be a point of conflict at some point - cassandra has got some occasional awful dialogue like calling the temple of mythal "for all this nonsense", and thats going to hurt. by then, rin is there, theyve reconnected, and she and leliana together are working. so one of them would probably talk to cass about it. if its leliana she would have some first person insight in Listening and being Respectful and reviewing her outlook. if its rin she would probably have a harsher reality check (especially with how Fucking Done she is after the temple of mythal): dont you see how youve hurt him? youre very important to him and if he is as important to you Then Do Better. in the end i see her indeed Doing Better and learning more about his culture and balancing it out in a more respectful way.

Do they have any interest in folk tales or folk songs?

well, he was a first, so Thats What He Did! kept the lore of the people. hes got plenty of dalish legends and tales to tell if you listen. his time in the inquisition is the first time of hearing many stories of the other cultures.

(i think he would find the song about andrastes mabari rather cute. its very... person behind the legend, u know? see below.)

How did they end Jaws of Hakkon? Did they reveal the truth about Ameridan?

well first of all you Have Seen Allen. i mean look at him. same vallaslin. same pulled back hair minus the greying and receding hairline. that was like looking in the mirror of an older him. (completely accidental btw which i adore)

then. the reveal that ameridan was a dalish elf and he was erased and turned into a human andrastian heroic figure. that he very much Never Wanted This, and was just a hunter with his own life replaced by this duty. allen was preparing for a leadership position but absolutely not at That Scale. not at the sealing holes in the sky and dealing with orlesian politics, which indeed is much worse than fighting dragons, scale.

and he was erased. and by the way allen had the herald of andraste title tacked on to him, and by the way people were then disbelieving to see the famed herald is a dalish elf, and by the way people say "how can i thank you" but dont even think to apologize for the earlier "knife-ear", he knows it will happen to him too.

rin has been through that already, and in theory, she wants there to be something supportive she can tell him... but she cant. because it is exactly like that. the rin behind the heroine of ferelden dissolves. people still treat her Like That™. when her elven-ness is a problem people look the other way.

(she didnt force alistair to be king and let anora rule, and i know its a bioware retcon that if you ask for the land for the dalish it has no real impact, but i think that she wonders if itd be different if she chose alistair. if he actually had some compassion for her and what he knows through her of her people, and would have put some more effort into getting it done. one more thing left behind and forgotten.)

but they have each other and they can try to help the people, and she can be there for allen, and together they can try to change something. because its no one else but them. (especially post temple of mythal where the ancient elves have turned from the dalish too - the dalish are literally so very on their own.)

so yes. allen tells ameridan of what happened while he was out and of course he tells the truth of ameridan too. (kenric was so stunned by the conclusion ameridan was a mage n i was like. oh you havent heard. oh just wait till you hear.)

and he really does not want to disappear like that.
