Happier: A Jaddison Fanfic Chapter 5
Notes: This is a fanfiction based on characters from the TV shows, Grey’s Anatomy, and Private Practice. This rewrites parts of episodes 18×03 and 18×04 of Grey’s Anatomy where Addison comes back to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital to do the hospital’s first uterine transplant. In this version of events, Addison’s husband and son, Jake, and Henry, show up to visit. This story and chapter were originally posted on Archive of Our Own on October 28th, 2021. This is chapter five so it is necessary to read the fourth chapter before moving on. This story has been edited to include headings and images.
Happier: Chapter 5
It was later in the day now and with it approaching autumn in Seattle, it also started getting dark outside. After talking to Jo, Addison went straight to her husband, who’d just gotten out of the restrooms.
“Hey, you,” she said.
“Hey,” he said back, pulling her in for a kiss. “Now let’s go get our boy,” he said as he pulled away. Addison smiled back as Jake kept his arm around her waist as they walked toward the hospital daycare center.
Eight years together and it still made her smile every time Jake called Henry “his son” or “our son”. She just hoped that he knew she felt the same way about Angela. But she was at least comforted knowing that Angela loved being a big sister just by seeing them together every time she came home to visit.
After some small talk about the clinical trial, they finally reached the daycare center where they were surprised to see Amelia talking to a man holding a baby.
“So, are we gonna talk about the whole Minnesota thing from the other day?” Link asked her as he held baby Scout.
“I’m just gonna be traveling back and forth sometimes to help Meredith with this new job. It’ll be fine. Scout will be fine,” Amelia had been digging around her bag for something and after finding the pacifier she’d been searching for, she stuck it in Scout’s mouth.
“And you’re still not gonna tell me what this job is?” Link said, annoyed.
“I told you, I can’t,” Amelia said, defensively. “It’s all top secret and I wish I could tell you,” Amelia explained. “Believe me, if I could tell you, I would,” she added apologetically.
“Of course, you would,” Link said, defeated and annoyed.
Addison Interrupts
“Is everything okay?” Addison walked up to them and placed her hand on Amelia’s hand.
“It’s fine, he just doesn’t like that I’m helping Meredith with this new job. Or that I can’t tell him anything about it,” Link stood there watching as Amelia explained. Then, he saw Jake standing there and it was then that both men gave each other sympathetic smiles.
“Wait,” Addison said as she started putting the pieces together. “Is this Scout?” she added, excitedly.
“Yes, yes it is,” Amelia smiled as she looked back at the baby, who’d been staring at the adults as they talked. Addison cupped her hands over her face excitedly. Link gave her a slight smile and placed the baby in Addison’s arm.
“Hi, Scout!” Addison said in her baby voice. It’d been a long time since she talked to Henry in that voice and God, did she miss it.
“I’m your Auntie Addison,” Addison pulled the baby closer to snuggle him slightly and sniff his head. Baby head, how she’s missed that too.
Link Meets Jake and Addison
“And you must be Link,” Addison said as she adjusted Scout to a better position in her arms.
“Yeah, hi it’s nice to meet you,” Link gave her a slight nod to acknowledge her. He still wasn’t happy with Amelia and wasn’t really in the mood to pretend like he wasn’t. As Addison continued cooing over the baby, Amelia smiled watching them. Then, Jake finally stepped up to introduce himself.
“Hi, I’m Jake,” Jake offered his hand.
“Nice to meet you,” Link gave his hand a shake.
“Amelia used to work with us in LA,” Jake explained.
“Oh yeah, I think she mentioned she worked in LA for a while,” Link recalled. He knows she worked in LA for a while but knew next to nothing about her time there. There was a slightly awkward pause between the guys as Addison and Amelia continued to coo over baby Scout.
Jake Invites Link for Dinner
“Hey, you should join us for dinner,” Jake offered. Just from the look on Addison and Amelia’s faces, he knew he did wrong. But it was too late to backtrack now.
“Uhhhh…” Link said awkwardly. “Sure,”
“Great!” Addison said in her best WASP-y enthusiastically polite tone. “I’ll just grab Henry and we can go,” she handed Scout over to Amelia, who muttered a sarcastic “great” under her breath.
They ended up going out to a quaint little Italian joint that Addison used to frequent when she lived in Seattle. The restaurant was nice enough and there’d thankfully been enough distractions to fill out the conversation. But by the time they finished ordering, there was a lull in the conversation as they’d already exhausted talking about things like the weather, the nice restaurant atmosphere, and the food options.
“So, Amelia tells us you’re in ortho,” Addison started.
“Yeah,” Link said somewhat awkwardly. The night had been fine so far but now Link was starting to regret saying yes to Jake’s proposal.
“What made you want to get into ortho?” Jake asked. Over the years, Jake had adapted Addison’s WASP-y ability to make nice conversation even when no one wanted to talk. But he had to admit that it was a nice tool to have in awkward situations like this.
“I was diagnosed with osteosarcoma when I was a kid,” he started. “I mean, I got through cancer but I wanted to help kids like me,”
“What’s that?” Henry asked.
“It’s bone cancer,” Link explained. “Mine was in my femur bone, which is this bone right here,” he pointed. “Actually, they caught it pretty late but the doctors helped cure me and now I’m all better,”

Anyway I rewatched Grey's Anatomy from the beginning, and I'm already at the 15th season, where here there's the famous triage of love of Meredith (Andrew and Link). Given your obsession for Link, I wanted to know if would you have liked it to have been him instead of Andrew? (personally I preferred so, just for Amelink❤️)

Yes, at the beginning, I was very much hoping Meredith would end up choosing Link but then it became clear that Link was just introduced to steer up chaos lol and Chris confirmed it later on. He was actually only supposed to be there for that SL but then they saw the chemistry between Caterina and him and so they went for amelink — although the writers ended up making a mess out of amelink in the end.
In hindsight, I'm glad Meredith didn't choose Link, because honestly, all of Meredith's love interests end up dead or they move away for some idiotic reason. And i love my Link so yay that he's still here making my heart happy (hopefully with Jo in season 19) 🥰

What would Atticus's reaction to Walking Wake? Would he be amazed yet shocked to know there's another dragon type version of Suicune other than himself?

Steven: You're not gonna believe this.
Atticus: Umm, what is it?
Roxanne: Weeeeell, a couple of months ago, some paleontologists in Paldea made a really interesting discovery, and we finally have a copy of their research, so --
Steven: Aw, just take a look, Atticus!!
[She presents the papers to him, and he scans the page for Walking Wake]
Atticus: It's... it's a...
Steven and Roxanne: Dragon-type suicune!!
Atticus: (overjoyed) It's... Is this real??
Steven: Yes, it's real! Isn't it awesome?
Roxanne: Dr. Steele's already excited to see you about this.
Steven: She's already put in a bunch of requests over it! This opens up a whole new world of research possibilities -- You could be a sort of missing link, for all anyone knows. Studying the relationship between modern creatures and prehistoric ones. Um... of course, that's assuming you're comfortable with it, if it's something you wanna pursue. It's all up to you.
Atticus: I... I could finally be an important experiment.
Roxanne: Oh, Atticus... You'll always be important to us.

pokemon/Magnus archives crossover au
post mag-200 au where as the Fears are being spread out into the multiverse, they accidentally get snagged on Akari getting taken to hisui. Arceus notices and tries shaking them off, but that only results in separating Jon and Martin, with jon landing in hisui alongside Akari and Martin landing in Gear Station in modern day.

I've noticed (while I've been entirely absent, my fault there's too much going on) that people (on Reddit) seem to think that there are certain characters that are going to appear this year on Duel Links, mainly Sherry LeBlanc, Spectre, Akira, Mizar, Vector, and Celina (predictions about Varis and Shay have already come true). Obviously Varis and Shay start off the beginning of this year, with Sherry, Spectre and potentially another Arc-V (or ZEXAL) character poised to come in the middle of the year, and a ZEXAL character (Mizar generally) as well as Atticus (who's been absent for so long I honestly don't think he's coming) and Celina ending the year.
While some of these predictions have been pretty accurate - and I know that at least two of the above will be released sooner or later because they already have IDs - I noticed that there is some opinion that Mizar is going to come into the game before Alito. It could happen, theoretically...but here's why I think it won't.
I know that with ZEXAL, Konami have been a bit strange; they ended up missing out entirely on most of Yuma's classmates (not that surprising) as well as Vetrix (kind of surprising) and Christopher (VERY surprising, especially because both of his brothers are in the game) - and yet Anna Kaboom somehow made the cut. I still think she was just a popular character who had good cards, so that was why - but I'll never understand why Thomas and Michael got in but Chris didn't.
In any case, despite that, they have been somewhat (loosely) chronological with the appearance of the characters. They brought in Rio quite a bit after all the other characters came in (I think she was the last character unlock before Girag), which does somewhat line up with the storyline of the show.
And we've just had Girag (whose event is rerunning soon), which means the next ZEXAL character to be unlocked is pretty much guaranteed to be another Barian.
The reason people are now saying that Mizar is the next Barian to come is allegedly the popularity of his cards; so Konami will basically end up releasing a new box for him and other Galaxy-Eyes support etc, and Alito would then come after him.
But it makes a lot more sense for Alito to be the next unlock since firstly it just fits really well with the storyline in Duel Links. Think about it; Girag's recently come in, he's adjusting to everything, then Alito comes in - maybe to look for Girag and find out what's going on, which is kind of what happened in the show - and then has his own event. It just aligns really well with Girag, since that's his best friend. Alito would have the most reason to go to Duel Links after Girag.
Plus that would, like I said, (loosely) fit the chronological structure of ZEXAL.
If Mizar came in next - which is a dream that still has a while to come true, admittedly - it wouldn't really be relevant to Girag. Mizar would just have his own thing. And the fact that Konami brought Girag in first is kind of critical since it sets the stage for the rest of the Barians to come. By bringing in Girag as the first Barian when theoretically they could have brought in any of them just seems to hint even more that Alito is going to follow.
TL;DR: Alito is more likely to be the next Barian instead of Mizar because doing otherwise will hurt Girag's feelings, which are more important than, you know, wars and massive tragedies. And I want Girag's best friend to come hang out with him in Duel Links before the other Barians find out about the party they were never invited to and crash it anyway.

Hulu grey anatomy season 1
What will she say? Please say yes! The two are just so cute together. Link is about to ask Amelia to marry him. Hayes will be the one to help her get over that when he has a heart surgery for her. Meanwhile, Maggie is struggling with confidence in her abilities. It’s going to be up to Bailey, Hunt, and others to save their lives. Our recap of Greys Anatomy Season 17, Episode 7, Helplessly Hoping. It follows the back of Station 19, which will see a newlywed couple in a car accident. While Meredith wakes up, there’s a trauma coming to the ER.
Elsewhere on Grey’s Anatomy Season 17, Episode 11 Grey’s Anatomy has been an escape from the world for many of us in the past, but it’s drawn out the anxiety and trauma of the last year in a way it shouldn’t have. However, it could have been included in the story without it being around for too long. Yes, COVID-19 is very real and the real frontline workers have suffered. Following an emotional, COVID-filled seventeenth season, fans began flocking to Hulu in early October with hopes of a brighter season 18. Maybe that ruins the surprise, but it tells us that some of this COVID-19 storyline is coming to an end. The fall TV season marked the return of countless popular seriesbut no one makes an entrance quite like Dr. ET.The promo for the crossover with Station 19 tells us that Meredith is waking up. Grey's Anatomy Season 18 premieres Thursday, Sept. Without a truck, they are forced to take their injured patient to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital on foot.Ī voice-over then announces: "Brace yourself for one hell of a return." The trailer then takes a dramatic turn, flashing to the Station 19 squad whose fire truck has been hijacked. She then asks "What are you going to do, Meredith?" That is one of the all time worst episodes in Greys history.
