If your ocs were pieces of driftwood, where would they wash ashore?

ok so!

Einin and Miriam would straight up not wash ashore. they’d keep bumping each other and tumbling down waterfalls until they eventually disintegrated

Quincey would end up in a sewer, which would suck, but he’d eventually be found by like some precocious kid and be taken home. I like to think he’d end up being used in a table or a bartop

it would take Vittoria a long time to drift ashore. like she’d have a lot of almosts and not quites, but I think she’d end up on a beach somewhere. there would always be the threat of her washing away again, though

Régine would get lost. I think she would wash ashore somewhere, only to drift off again. she’s never at one place for very long, and she never drifts to the same sort of place

Alice ends up on a street. she washes ashore somewhere in a forest, probably, and gets carried into the street by some sort of animal and gets run over

Hey wtf this isnt the average Ruth oc™️

Yeah :) it isn't, because the tropes ain't mine!

A friend of mine pitched the idea that we could challenge ourselves to take very common and reoccurring traits and aspects of one another's characters and make our own from it!

So, looking at theirs, I took away soft and fluffy, human but not exactly human entirely, funky eye design, wings, horns, and tail.

And here is Dalama.

Dalama is a girl who reaches abouuuuttt early 20s regarding age, and is constsntly clinging to her tail for comfort, but also out of keeping it away from some who'd pull it to hurt her. Her wings are of course practical for flying, but they tend to flap about when she's excited, expressing thinga greatly through body language. The fluff around her neck is part of her rather than just an accessory. Her fore arms and lower legs carry this same trait, but are always covered.

To go more in depth, I practically took a good look at our boy Cyrmic Danderdilly and plucked away the soft plush aspects and incorporated them onto Dalama. Her shirt and all sortttt of stems from Einin 🥺 and.. uh. Indirectly daisy though that isn't a good person to pick from.

Regardless. Carrying on, many also possessed wings and Horns (looking at Cyrmic again for the horns) and of course once more, Cyrmic's tails.. But only Tail here. Many of the characters also tends to own intricate eyes wether they'd be buttons, no eyes at all, multiple, or just very peculiar for humans.

Her legs are ended as hooves.... uh..

Her personality sort of... Kind of screams neurodivergent/lh/pos

I think I partially exuded my own hyper side to her and gave her the gift of being cool/gen

Her best friend happens to be my friend's interpretation of the traits I have :)! She also chirrups between her words like a hiccup, and it canonically sounds much like a budgie...

Anyhow.. I dunno what else to write but :) yeagh.. here's.. uegah... hehehe...

There was once a creation, named Einin.

In all senses of the word, it was perfect. Finely crafted magic circuits, a nigh bottomless mana core, high Master aptitude, and the knowledge of all the spells their creators knew installed in their brain. All to fulfill a purpose that would soon be rescinded. Einin's creators were soon expecting a child. They would name the child Linnet, and Linnet would be named the sole heir. The purpose Einin was built for. But so much work had been put into Einin, disposing of the creation would be a waste of all their resources.

And so it would be that Einin became Linnet's caretaker. And the creation would watch over the child, watching her grow until she came of age. The time was ripe for the family's tradition. Every generation they would fight within themselves for the right to succeed. Victors would be named the main family, and all others would become its branches. As a creation of the current main family, the details of Einin's parameters became clear. All the resources put into it...no mere branch family would be allowed such luxuries.

A grail war would be held, it was decided long ago. Only the victors had any right to call themselves the main family, it appeared. As Einin was technically considered a member of their family, it too would participate.

...'It'. That's right, wasn't it? In a mage's eyes, Einin was merely an object, wasn't it? Despite their appearance, never once did Einin's creators refer to them as 'her'. Merely 'It'. And she can clearly still remember the first time Linnet called her...'her'.

"Evelyn!! Let her go, Assassin! Let her- No!!"

'Evelyn...' Einin liked the sound of that, in Linnet's voice. Would that she could have heard it sooner. In more favorable circumstances. And as her vision began to fade, the heart of a homunculus in this Assassin's hand, she could feel herself smiling.

listen i dont gush about my ocs often but i love everything i thought up with Evelyn Hayes. She didn’t even start with a family name, only referred to as Einin by her creators and their daughter. Made just because they had failed to make an heir so many times, only allowed to continue existing from all the work they had sunk into her. Even had her heart ripped out and ceased to be, a miracle that she was able to come back at all. And yet she holds no hate in her heart, and just wants to continue to be and see the world with her newfound freedom. Seen as part of the family by her ‘sister‘ and ‘cousins‘, given a real name, and given the love she was always worthy of.

mary wasn’t sure what she thought of him enjoying the same poetry as her.    and reciting it so well;   he wasn’t another gentlemen who decorated a few lines in order to impress a lady   (   and he’d certainly not waste such material on her   ).    the way his mouth formed around each word betrayed a deep familiarity with the work.    “    it has provided me a peak into a world i have never visited.    ”

“     i’m partial to ‘to a louse’ myself.    ”

“    she was insistent i rest,    ”    neither lady seemed to quite understand, or simply they preferred to pretend they didn’t, that it was her job to accompany them.    whether she was well-rested, something never was, was inconsequential.     it was actually part of the description of both of the jobs she was performing:   detective mary quinn and spinster mary frame both were meant to stay close to susan and keep an eye out for greedy-eyed men like the count.

her objections had been noted.   and ignored.    “    besides,    ”     she tilted her head towards the window,    “     they are close.    ”     the addition was quite unnecessary, and a bad idea in the overall scheme of things, but the idea of éamon thinking she was doing a job rattled her.    “    our precious susan is well-looked after.    ”

“    i believe the gentlemen aren’t present at the moment.   do you wish to leave a note with me?    ”

Éamon couldn't help but chuckle. In a way, he'd expected the answer, and yet in another, it still surprised him. "That's my sister's favorite as well." He admitted, so that Miss Frame wouldn't think him to be making fun of her. "I think the two of you would get on swimmingly. Perhaps when she and her husband arrive from Dublin, I might introduce you?"

A similar taste in poetry aside, the Duke truly believed that Mary and Einin would get along. Perhaps even better than Mary did with Susan and Lucy. As much as he loved the whole family, he couldn't deny that Peter, Su, Ed, and Lu were... Well, sheltered. They never really had to experience the outside world, nor face its cruelty. But he and Einin, being Irish, had. And somehow, just by a glance, he could tell that Miss Frame knew it too. More than she let on.

Pulled out of his musings by her question, Éamon's face fell. Oh... She thought he was looking for Peter and Edmund. Perhaps this had been a bad idea... Adjusting his coat, he licked his lips and glanced away for a moment.

"No. No that won't be necessary. It wasn't Peter, Susan, Edmund, or Lucy I came to see..."

He thought that that had been clear. But it seemed he was wrong.

I don’t think I ever talked about Linnet here, so

Name: Linnet Hayes Species: Human

Linnet had an average upbringing for a children of mage parents. In that it wasn’t average in the slightest. Her family was the leader of the other houses related to them, and it was instilled in her over and over again that she would have to work hard for them to maintain this position of power over the others. Her homunculus assistant, Einin, would also help her along this path.

When the time for the Hayes Grail War of Succession came, it was her own Servant that changed the game midway through. And as a result, Linnet lost her eye, and her family lost their status to the twin masters, Bran and Wren. She had even almost lost Einin, the one person she had felt closest to during her life. And that was something she could not bear. Linnet put her life on the line to save her, something no other mage would do. Who would risk themselves for An Object, as some would say.

Now, however, she’s very bitter and cynical. Especially towards the twins. Einin, now given the name Evelyn, is the only person she can be comfortable with.
