So I’m like a month late but I’m FINALLY getting around to making a writeblr introduction! It’s honestly kind of ironic that I made this blog to procrastinate from doing my a-levels and then I procrastinated from making an introduction for weeks on end.

Anyway...

I’m Enya, I’m 17 years old and I’m from the north of Ireland! My pastimes include writing, reading, baking, saying-I’m-writing-but-actually-singing-show-tunes-badly-off-key, and annoying my best friend @black-masquerade. My pronouns are she/her but dont worry about misgendering me! Things happen.

One fun fact about me is that I am so bad at hiding my sexuality from my English teacher that she’s started cutting out reviews of gothic LGBT+ novels from the newspapers and silently slipping them to me at the end of class. My A level English teacher is the only gay ally I need.

Speaking of novels, some of my favourites include the Skulduggery Pleasant series by Derek Landy, The Invisible Library by Genevieve Cogman, Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake and honestly anything by Sarah Waters. I also have a strange obsession with the gothic, with my favourite novel of all time no exceptions being Frankenstein, although anything by the Brontë sisters are all close seconds!

I currently have one WIP that I’m actively working on, and another that is more a vague outline and a mess of plot holes due to multiple heavy rewrites and writers block. I’ll go into more detail in a separate post, but my first WIP follows a lady-turned-notorious-theif dealing with a cursed diamond that she,,,obtained, while also trying to deal with her family’s struggling finances, her father’s addictions/failing health and her relationship with her secret lover, Mairéad McGuinness. The second WIP is much less defined, but it’s a fantasy novel with demons, angels, vampires, werewolves, possession, warrior queeens, gay stuff, moral ambiguity, the relationship between family/what defines a family and murder. Lots of it.

Also, please excuse the lack of organisation in this blog. My aesthetic is just “a complete mess but at least she’s trying and that’s what matters”
