Harry Potter is the big one. I've also written some Captive Prince, Locked Tomb, and one Call Me By Your Name fic

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Right Hand Red; Hung Like a Horntail; Slip Into My Lover's Hands; Weeds or Wildflowers (written with the very talented @unmistakablyoatmeal); and check this hand 'cause I'm marvelous

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I try. I'm seriously behind. The truth is, I'll never get around to replying to them all. I will someday die with a thousand unanswered comments. But I do try. And I read each and every one and they touch my heart. I'm so very grateful for all the wonderful comments I've received and continue to receive!

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Oof. I hardly ever end things badly. But there was one wee ficlet; lemme go hunt it down. (*plays elevator music*) Ah, here it is: Not-Forever Is Still Forever. It's not MCD or anything. Draco just leaves for Argentina for two years. *shrug emoji* But I like to think I've gotten pretty good at baking some realistic angst into the middle of things, if not writing angty endings. I prefer it that way.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

All of them except for Burning the Ground, which is an open ending. I'll be honest, I don't like the word fluff. I'm never trying to write fluff, which, to me, denotes a level of uncomplicated sweetness. Maybe others define it differently. But I don't think happy endings are necessarily fluffy. I want my happy endings to put tears in your eyes, to move you. I want to evoke different things with different sorts of happiness for different phases of life. RHR's ending is about a feeling of freedom mostly, of getting to face the next part of their lives without dread. Take You Home has a similar vibe but with them a bit older; they've experienced the painful and mundane disappointments you have to weather in this life that have nothing to do with fighting a dark wizard and everything to do with existential questions about who we are, how we go on, what do you do when it doesn't work out, when you've changed and you don't know who you are anymore. I loved ending it with all their friends, at a march for trans rights. Heart Like Neon has an ending that makes *me* the most happy. I modeled it after an episode of Grey's Anatomy where you find out at the end of the ep that two important characters got married. The whole ep, none of their friends know, then at the end they play 'Bones' by Josh Record, and you go back in time by a few weeks and you see it. When I wrote the end of HLN, I had that song playing in my head from the end of the party at the Weasley's, to jumping three months earlier, to Harry and Draco in Paris. That's a pretty goddamned happy ending. It makes me cry. <3 (Also the art that @bluebutter-art made for it makes me bawl happy tears!!!)

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I was going to say hardly ever but then I *just* got some last week! LOL. Still, I'm very lucky that it's not even once in a blue moon. That stuff is so arbitrary too. I'm going to quote my good friend @elrhiarhodan: People... they're fuckin nuts. :D

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

LOL yes. A lot of different kinds? I want to try a little of everything as a writer.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

No. I mean, I probably have a couple times over the course of my literal decades in some fandom or other, but they're not worth noting.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Yes.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes, several, and into multiple languages. I think that's so cool!

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Definitely! In HP I've written with sdk, @the-starryknight and @nv-md, plus I once did a wild round robin with a big group of people. I'm not good at round robins, I've realized. Too much of a control freak.

14. What’s your all time favourite ship?

Drarry, totally. But right up there is Harry/Teddy and Harry/Teddy/Draco. Then Ginny/Pansy, Charlie/Teddy, James Sirius/Albus Severus (with Teddy too sometimes). In CaPri, I love Damen/Laurent, but @linecrosser had totally made me ship when Damen lends Laurent out to Nikandros for a threesome and also Auguste/Laurent. I also hardcore ship my own original characters from my novel. <3

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I don't do WiPs really.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Oof, this is tough. Pacing? Interpersonal relationships? Smut, for sure. LOL. I think I do well writing things that are transgressive or maybe even filthy with a lot of tenderness and compassion and deep, deep love mixed in. And I think I'm getting really good at making people cry when I want them to. Readers, that is. :D

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Convoluted plots. Can't do them. I wish I could. I can't write a mystery to save my life. I'm also pretty bad at heavy angst. I also wish I could write something nonlinear, but my brain just doesn't work that way.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

It's interesting that this is a question because it's meaningful to me not because of fic but because of my novel. I have a Spanish-speaking character, fluent in English, but sometimes he says things in Spanish. I'm very VERY lucky that @capiturecs read my novel both as a sensitivity reader for Latinx/Latine/Latino aspects but also to correct my Spanish and make it realistic and conversational! I'll be forever grateful! I also now really REALLY want to learn Spanish! <3

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?

Oh this is mean. This is cruel. I can't possibly answer this! RHR has got to be in there. Heart Like Neon. Blood and Fire. Phoenix in the Fire. Take You Home. Wonderful Electric (cover me in you). A Pain of Our Choosing. My Name in Your Mouth. Bloom. collarbones like a bow, skin an arrow to the heart. I'll stop there!

20 Questions for Fic Writers

A bunch of writers that I follow have already been tagged and responded @helloliriels @khorazir @7-percent @discordantwords @totallysilvergirl to name just a few. Now I have a few new things to read that I somehow missed the first time around as well as a bunch of old favorites to go and re-read. So much good fic is out there by so many talented writers!

In the spirit of adding to folk’s ever growing MFL list I’ll just pile onto the bandwagon with my answers as well.

1. How many works to you have on AO3?

56 although there are several collections of snippets that technically could be counted separately. On AO3 I'm KtwoNtwo.

2. What’s your total AO3 word count?

496,860

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Primarily Sherlock Holmes (most all iterations from ACD to Sherlock) and James Bond. However, I dabble in a good number of other fandoms upon occasion.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

5. Do you respond to comments?

Yes, even if its just a “I’m glad you liked it.” The only ones I don’t respond to are the generic solicitations to join some random contest or fic publishing website. Those get blocked and reported.

6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Well, I don’t really write major angst but The Four Riders has got a bit as does the poem Gun in the Drawer though they both end on a hopeful note.

7. What’s the Fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Most of my fics have happy endings but probably A Toast to the Science of Deduction resolves the happiest of the lot.

8. Do you get hate on fics.

Nope. Only got one anonymous troll alleging trademark infringement due to a title. I fired back a factual rebuttal: basically "there is no book by that name by that author, there is no lawyer by that name, you didn’t provide contact information and btw trademark doesn’t work the way you allege" then added a set of quotation marks to the title. Never heard anything more about it.

9. Do you write smut?

I have but I’m not terribly good at it. Most of the time the characters look at me then politely, or not so politely, shut the bedroom door in my face.

10. Do you write crossovers?

Oh God Yes! Technically I think I write fusions, where both fandoms end up in the same universe, as opposed to crossovers but I’m rather unclear on the difference between same so I tend to just call 'em crossovers and leave it at that.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I could find or prove. I did have a couple of strange search results pop up with my use name and some fic titles attached but the websites all seem to be defunct now.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Not to my knowledge.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

No.

14. What’s your favorite ship?

Sherlock Holmes/John Watson

15. What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

There’s a fic based on a song by Abney Park that I’ve got an outline for but it never seems to go anywhere.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I can merge and/or crossover all sorts of different fandoms.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Typos and punctuation. Being slightly dyslexic I can’t spot the former and I never know if I’m using commas correctly or not.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I actively avoid doing so because I’d butcher it badly.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Emperor’s Edge by Lindsay Buroker. I will admit that I wrote in my head, but never got around to put on paper, a number of Star Trek stories when I was significantly younger.

20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?

I like all of them for different reasons. The one I’m most proud of however is The Emerald Falls my Study in Emerald inspired ACD Fic.

I'd love to have some of the artists/podcasters respond to this with whatever modifications are necessary to fit the medium involved. Hours of podcast or number of artworks as opposed to number of words for example. @podfixx @bluebellofbakerstreet if you haven't responded to this thing already and I just missed it.

Alrighty it's been WAY too fucking long since I did one of these ask memes. Tagged by @bakumanfaces

1. Are you named after anyone?

So technically named after my mom (gave me her old middle name) but now it's MY middle name >:3

2. When was the last time you cried?

Three days ago?? At most four. I had a rough few months recently and uhhh still recovering.

3. Do you have kids?

Oh good Lord no I can barely take care of myself rn

4. What sport do you play/have played?

Uh I was in a Quadball team for a few weeks freshman year of college but other than that haven't really played sports since soccer as a kid.

5. Do you use sarcasm?

NOOOOO not at ALL

6. What's the first thing you notice about people?

Uhhh this is tough probably their frame? Like height, fat and muscle distribution, etc. WAIT ACTUALLY no it's hair but frame is a close second.

7. What's your eye color?

Green, slightly leaning towards Hazel

8. Scary movies or happy endings?

Happy endings

9. Any talents?

I like to think I'm an okay cook. There's probably another thing but I can't think of it.

10. Where were you born?

Oakland, CA

11. What are your hobbies?

Video games, cooking, biking, sorting things into arbitrary categories (recently made a list of Pokemon based on their similarity to the meal/monster in every dunmeshi episode)

12. Do you have any pets?

No but my parents have two dogs I helped raise so I think they're worth mentioning.

13. How tall are you?

5'8"

14. Favorite subject in school?

Either Physics or Literature. Had good teachers for both. Found a lot of the analytical concepts for literature interesting and just had the mind to work through basic physics problems like fun puzzles.

15. Dream job?

Video game designer (literally in school for this shit) highly collaborative environment working with code with an eye towards artistic intentions (even if those intentions are just "have fun")

Thank you for the tag, @aniron48 ❤️ This was such a nice way to wrap up this year, and to remember what I'd written!

1. How many works do you have on AO3? 82! I feel like I blacked out and blinked and woke up with a horrifying number of fics!

2. What’s your total A03 word count? 385,997 😨

3. What fandoms do you write for? James Bond mostly. Also Glass Onion/Knives Out. I don't write for The Witcher anymore, but I have in the past. On my laptop is a lot of unfinished Star Trek fic - mainly Kirk/Spock - and a crack at some Arthur/Eames (from Inception).

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I do try to, and I mostly succeed. I like to thank people for investing their time with my work, and I also like getting to know people in fandom. There's still 100+ comments I need to get back to, and some of them are very old. I will get to them though!!! I promise!

6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Anything involving the MCD tag. There was also a short called garden that was very sad for other reasons.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Either being with you (is the best of all) or dispatches from the division.

8. Do you get hate on fics? Not really, though I've had a few rude comments and bookmark notes. One person let me know across three chapters that they hated my characterisation of Bond so much they were tempted to rewrite the ending! But most people are lovely. The Bond fandom is small and most of us have our heads screwed on the right way.

9. Do you write smut? Frequently and without shame. There are 29 E-rated fics in my backlog for your reading pleasure.

10. Do you write crossovers? I have a Knives Out/James Bond crossover series where Bond and Blanc are detectives competing for Q's attention.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I'm aware of!

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Yes and I am endlessly grateful for people who are more talented with languages than I am ❤️

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Just a team poem for 007 Fest, though I have worked with beta readers.

14. What’s your all-time favourite ship? Kirk/Spock forever.

15. What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I had a multiverse fic I posted a chapter of that I don't think I have the energy for anymore. I was so undecided about the ending that I lost interest in writing it.

16. What are your writing strengths? I think I'm good with characters and details. My writing has been called immersive by a few people, and I do really pride myself on building atmosphere. I think I can turn a good phrase occasionally too!

17. What are your writing weaknesses? I need to get better at proofreading for typos. I'm quite lazy with plotting and planning as well. I definitely need to work on that for an original novel I'm writing!

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I only do it if it's necessary, and I'm so glad AO3 now has a hover feature for immediate translation. One of my pet peeves at uni was how often scholars used random French and Latin words or phrases when they didn't need to!!!

19. First fandom you wrote for? HP, probably. Or Glee. Those fics have been purged from the internet now 😂

20. Favourite fic you’ve ever written? Either dispatches from the division or the WIP I'm in the process of posting now, called the age of change.

Keeping things concise, I guess? My stories are mostly plot-driven, so I tend to move things from point A to point B in a straightforward manner. I try not to repeat words too often as well, and I'd like to say I'm good at writing angst!

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Rushing the plot haha! I feel like being overly succinct makes my writing feel too abrupt; the transitions aren't as smooth as I like, and I can always afford to spend more time expanding and developing a scene before moving on.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

It's awesome; kudos to those who pull it off, goodness knows I can't!

Chapter 7 -

Cantata

Arabella is the executive assistant for Mercedes Team Principal Toto Wolff. 10 years into her career, it looks like the tide is changing, and she's beginning to question her relationship with him. Is it something more, or nothing but an idea lingering in her head?

Sorry about how long this chapter took. I am, in fact, getting a literal PhD. So sometimes I have to focus on that and not Toto Wolff, although it is really hard. There's a joke somewhere in there about fanfic authors. Feel free to make it.

“So…how was dinner with Toto?” Bono asked.

“How did you know about that?” I shot him a glance.

“You do know that you’re in a hotel filled with your coworkers, right?” He responded. Fair enough.

“Well…it was nice,” I shrugged.

“That’s good, that’s good. Hey,” He said softly, grabbing me by the waist and pulling me in. This was never good. Bono only ever pulled me in for a whisper when he was about to tell me something very, very bad. The list of previous times was short.

The engineering supervisor had just fired the craziest person on the team. It’s good to be a little crazy in Formula 1, but Gino had taken it 5 steps too far, and was lucky to have not gotten hit by a car. Anyway, the engineering team desperately needed me to distract the media and coordinate his removal with security in such a way that no one would happen to notice the short Italian man being dragged out by his ear.

My mom collapsed during a race. Turned out to just be heat exhaustion.

In most recent memory, Lewis has COVID. I had just spent a few hours with him and Toto, in close proximity.

Bono had a talent for lowering his head in such a way that no one could possibly hear what he was about to whisper to you, and this was no different. “Look yourself up,” He whispered, while simultaneously gently letting go of me. This could not be good. At the same time, my phone buzzed with Jeffrey’s contact popping up for a phone call. This has to be bad. There is no alternative.

I declined his call, and immediately went to Safari as Bono looked over my shoulder.

“Who was that?” Bono asked.

“My lawyer.”

“Your lawyer? You have a lawyer?” He asked, with such a sudden expression of shock.

“More a friend who’s a contracted lawyer. A lawyer friend. Who I have a contract with. A friend who is a lawyer who I have a contract with,” I explained.

“You said ‘contract’ so much I’m starting to think it’s some sort of freaky 50 Shades thing.”

“Jesus, Bono,” I complained.

“You have to admit you made it sound like that.”

“Fair,” I groaned, finally typing my name into the search bar.

“Jesus, you gave me a scare. That’s not that bad. He’s just being weird again,” I sighed, turning to Bono. My heart rate started to slow down. Bono raised his eyebrow.

“And yet…you’ve clicked on none of them,” Bono sighed. “Keep scrolling.”

I did as he said. Suddenly more recent articles pop up.

“Oh…oh no,” I sighed.

“Listen, I wasn’t going to not tell you,” Bono explained, grabbing me by the shoulders again. “Here’s the thing. And listen to me carefully. This is about Cathal. Not you. Public Relations is about to call Toto and ask that he puts forward a request to have him banned, even if temporarily. I had them wait until the two of you got back. Are you still listening?”

I was, but I couldn’t blame him for asking. I knew my eyes had glazed over. “Yeah, yeah. PR. Banning. All that.”

“Okay. Arabella, this guy is a fucking creep. But we’re going to fix this,” Bono explained.

“No, no. I will,” I sighed.

“No, no. You will not touch this. Yes, it's almost entirely your job, but this is the time you pass off a responsibility to someone else. And you will absolutely not listen to that song. Do you understand? Do not listen to it. It’s fucking weird,” Bono pushed his hair back.

“I imagine it is. I also get the sneaking suspicion I should listen to it,” I explained. “I can’t understand what’s going on without it.”

“Arabella, all you need to know that’s going on with it is that your ex-boyfriend is still writing songs about you, but this one is just plainly mean and weird. And he used you as a publicity stunt for it. Like, c’mon. That’s what you need to know about it.”

“Arabella, come over here for a second,” Toto called, suddenly appearing in the hallway behind me. Shit. I stepped towards him, and he grabbed my shoulder. That had now happened a bit too frequently in the past few minutes. I know this is a shit show. But this must be a real fucking shit show. “I’m sure you already know about it. After all, no one can really seem to keep their mouths shut. Anyway, I’m about to call the FIA. This is the first time something like this has happened, so don’t hold your breath. Hopefully though, they’ll seek to make an example out of this kind of behavior. Regardless of how messy this is for you , no team should be dealing with shit like this. Bono!” Toto suddenly called out.

“Yeah, yeah?” Bono asked, nearly running over.

“Who invited the little…Lynch? Who invited Lynch? Do you know?”

“I’ve asked around. Don’t think he was invited by anyone,” Bono shrugged.

“Oh, good. I was worried someone had invited him. Since he just showed up with a paddock pass, this is a different situation. Alright, I’m about to make the call. Arabella, I know it’s difficult, but I need your complete focus, alright? 100%. This is no one’s problem, except his. Thankfully, this has to be a violation of something. Yeah, celebrities are publicity stunts in and of themselves, but usually they’re invited.”

“I’m just going to head off to Lewis’s team meeting while you make the call, okay?” I offered.

“Of course you will. Schatzi, you’re brilliant. This is why you’ve been doing this for so long. Only you could handle this,” Toto smiled. He patted me on my back and walked off, immediately hopping on the phone.

“Alright then, let’s go,” Bono answered, guiding me to the meeting room. As soon as we walked in, all of Lewis’s team quickly set down their phones and looked at me with horrified looks.

“If I can keep my mouth shut about this, everyone else can, alright?” I nodded. “Toto will be in here in not 5 minutes. If we aren’t talking strategy when he comes in, he’ll keep us here all night.”

“Okay everyone. Goodnight. See you all in the morning. Bright and early,” I waved goodbye to Aero. I looked at my watch. 9:35pm. We had really pulled it off with plenty of time for many people to get a full night of sleep. Except the engineers, but that was by choice. Many of them would be practically foaming at the mouth at the gate wanting to run in and get to work on the car. All night they would discuss different strategies to turn everything into a well oiled machine. For many of them, the driver is just driving their good work. Yes, a good driver makes all the difference, but to them it's their car.

“Arabella,” Toto called after me. I had gone into autopilot and started walking towards the elevator without a thought to whether Toto needed anything from me. I turned around with my hands up.

“Sorry, sorry. What’s up?” I asked, approaching him.

“You’re absolutely brilliant,” He said, opening his arms and giving me a great hug. First kiss, second kiss. Each cheek, just a brief touch. “Just absolutely brilliant. No one but you, yeah? No one but you. Okay, I have good news.”

I looked up at him as he finally let go. “Yeah, and what’s that?”

“He won’t be let in the gates tomorrow. Or all weekend. Or all season. Temporary ban for the season. Turns out it's a violation of some rule to use a paddock appearance for personal gain when it’s not written into your contract. Since he wasn’t invited, the contract was pretty explicit in not allowing that,” Toto explained. “Bad news is when he gets turned away at the gates tomorrow, I expect the press will be all over that. But it’s not too bad. The FIA won’t name you or the team as the cause or anything. Just plain breach of etiquette. I can only imagine what ridiculous thing that psycho will say about it though.”

“Thank you. Really, thank you,” I answered. “Did PR have any notes for me?”

“They’re hands off of you if I’m honest. Main concern is the look for the team. Even had to call Red Bull’s PR since he tried to make it seem like they invited him. I recommend you take a look at the new news if you want a laugh about it. Crazily enough, I was the 2nd call to the FIA. Red Bull had already called them about it to get him banned because of the implications,” Toto laughed. Yeah…I have to admit. It’s kind of funny when you think about it. I laughed with him.

“So…I can do what I want when it comes to it?” I asked.

“I know you very well, and I imagine the worst thing you could manage to do would be good for the team. So, yes. Whatever you want. I trust you more than them,” Toto smiled.

“Well, let me think about it, yeah? I’ll let you know before I go through with it,” I explained.

“Don’t bother. Like I said, I trust you.”

I gave him a look with a raised eyebrow.

“Okay, well now I’m concerned. What is that supposed to mean?” He asked with a slight giggle.

“Speaking about it at all? Is that fine?” I asked.

“I had no idea what you were about to say. Don’t mess with me like that, Arabella! Yes, of course, speaking about it is fine. Just nothing stupid, obviously.”

I nodded. “Well…I ought to be off to bed. I’ll see you tomorrow,” I shrugged.

“Oh, of course. Goodnight,” Toto nodded, as I wandered towards the elevator. As I arrived in my room, I stared at my phone. My mind begged me to check to see the updated news. Afterall, who could resist reading the various essays that weren’t really about themselves, but were instead about their ex-boyfriend talking about them. We had dated for some time, but not nearly long enough for Cathal to still be this pissed off about it. In fact, I had started to doubt whether he really still cared, or was just using a shitty microcelebrity like myself to constantly relaunch himself into fame. All the songs he had written about me when we were together were just crappy love songs, but they had so many little suggestions as to who the woman (or women) might be, that the fans and media couldn’t resist speculation. Since we have broken up and he has yet to find another muse as satisfactory, instead he just keeps milking a years-old break up.

It would be sad if it weren’t so frustrating. I never really quite liked the spotlight. Yes, I had been photographed with several celebrities, especially drivers and Toto, but there was always an understanding among the media that it was nothing more than business. Maybe a few F1 articles might mention me by name, but nothing quite like the sudden spur of attention I got when Cathal “accidentally” went public with our relationship. I tried to make it work after that. I had just spent 2 weeks being the face of a multi-year search for “the girl,” and then spending the next several months being the center of attention because I was a famous singer's partner. Not to mention, I also happened to be brushing shoulders with a world-champion driver and was the certified micromanager of a world-champion team principal.

But after the breakup, nothing for Cathal changed. I guess things for me didn’t change either. I kept the same exact life going. Maybe he figured since I hadn’t really had some sort of breakdown, quit my job, and moved continents, that I hadn’t moved on, and he gave himself permission to keep going on and on. But I have changed. I have moved on. Cathal only remains relevant in my life because he forces himself to be. I can’t allow myself to give him what he wants by obsessing over the news articles. Nothing will change for now, at least until Cathal is turned around at the gates tomorrow morning.

Instead of torturing myself, I called Jeffrey back.

“What time is it there?” He answered instead of a hello.

“Not even 10pm, calm down,” I explained.

“Well, have you seen the news?”

“Obviously, I’ve seen the news, Jeffrey.”

“Sorry, sorry then. Have you heard the song? It’s fucking amazing. He manages to sound like a misogynist, a lemon, and a weasel all at once,” Jeffrey laughed.

“No, Bono told me to avoid it.”

“Bono? Like, Peter Bonnington? You’re friends with Bono?” Jeffrey asked, sounding so very impassioned that it began to feel like he didn’t believe me.

“Yes, Peter Bonnington. And yes we’re friends. He’s practically my work husband.”

“I thought your work husband was Toto,” Jeffrey cackled, evilly.

“Very funny. Listen, I called you back not to be your court jester. I called you back because I need your help.”

“Oh, you finally admit it, yeah?”

“Jeffrey. I will cut you out right now.”

“Alright, alright. You did sign a contract though.”

“Jeffrey!”

“Fine, Arabella. I’m listening.”

I took a deep breath. “I need to do something. This time Cathal took it too far,” I explained.

“You don’t even know how far though, Arabella. Not without listening to the song,” Jeffrey groaned. “Before you do anything, you need to understand the full scope.”

“I’m not listening to it.”

“Fine, don’t. Let me explain it to you at least.”

“No quotes.”

“No quotes, got it. Alright, get in your head for me the song Creep by Radiohead. It’s not quite a cover, probably to avoid any copyright issues with him writing a freakish song, but it’s similar enough for you to imagine. Then, he must say ‘bitch,’ 40 times. Basically, the whole argument in the lyrics is a woman who tries to appear incredibly nice but is trying to keep some sort of hidden motive under wraps. That motive? An obsession over a celebrity that she constantly stalks. But instead of her calling herself a bitch, it’s the celebrity calling her a bitch. The funniest part about all of it though, is that he is obsessing over you.”

“Is that quite as funny as you think it is?”

“Oh…yeah, I guess not. I guess…it’s just creepy.”

“No, it’s hilarious,” I laughed. “He just seems like an idiot, doesn’t he?”

“More like a stalker who completely misunderstood the appeal of Creep. Absolute nonsense.”

“Well, what do you think I should do about it?”

“Honestly, you could just write an extremely short tweet and it would probably destroy the European internet. This man competed in Eurovision with a song about you.”

“Yeah, and didn’t even qualify,” I mumbled. “Anyway, no. I want something serious.”

“Well, then, write a statement. I’ve got a friend at The Guardian. It’ll be published in 20 minutes.”

“You’re bullshitting me,” I replied, starting to mess with the skin on my fingers. An unfortunate hold over from my more anxious days.

“Not at all. He’s an editor for the essays column. If you write it well, we can get it published. But I’d wait until the morning at least to see what happens when he comes through the paddock.”

“He won’t be coming through the paddock. FIA issued a temporary ban. He’ll be turned around at the gate,” I explained. I could hear Jeffrey tap his fingers, and I waited for his response.

“Write the essay tonight. Get it to me in the morning. Just remember, I’m 3 hours behind. You have to send it before 6am there, so I can make any necessary edits,” Jeffrey ordered me.

“Hold on, hold on! What do I even write about?” I asked. I picked my fingers faster.

“You know what to write about. Send me a cute headshot for the article too, and any pictures you might have of the two of you together,” Jeffrey continued.

“No, no I do not. I am an assistant, not a writer.”

“Oh hush. Give me everything, I’ll take out anything that needs to be gone.”

I took a deep breath. “Alright.”

“Alright, go on and write! Talk to you in the morning.” Jeffrey hung up. I sat staring at my phone for a few seconds before jumping up and grabbing my laptop. There was no time to hesitate. I sat my fingers on the keys and began to write.

“I’ve got a surprise for you!” Cathal smiled, as he threw down an envelope onto the couch.

“What is it?” I asked, barely looking up from my computer. He picked the envelope back up and placed it in my hands.

“Sundae, don’t touch my laptop,” I sighed, setting my computer off to the side. Sundae immediately began typing on it. I couldn’t shoo her away. It was too cute. I opened up the folder he gave me and there sat a whole bunch of pamphlets.

“Uhhh,” I began filtering through them, just picking up on little details here and there.

“I booked us a resort in Morocco! We can visit your family!” Cathal cheered. I looked at him. I could feel my eyes nearly bulging out of my skull. I tried to tone down my expression, but my face was fighting my brain.

“So we can do what?” I asked. I couldn’t have possibly heard that right.

“Oh no. Did I mess up? To visit your family,” Cathal remarked, quickly sitting down next to me. This sent Sundae right to his lap.

“No, no. You didn’t mess up. Not a mess up. Not one at all. I just wasn’t expecting it,” I smiled.

“Oh, good. It's during the winter break. Ramadan is then, right?” Cathal asked.

“Ramadan is in May this year,” I explained.

“I thought it was a winter holiday?” Cathal questioned.

“It’s a Lunar calendar. It was in January in the 90s or something.”

“It can’t be a Lunar calendar. Don’t Jewish people have one too? Chanukkah is always around the same time.”

“They have leap months,” I explained.

“Oh…sorry. Well, when will it be during the winter break again?”

“Like…10 years or something?”

“Well...hold on...actually, I don’t know if I can reschedule it out that far.”

“I actually think visiting during Ramadan would be the worst possible time considering I’m not religious,” I explained.

“Oh, then good!” Cathal smiled. Yeah. Awesome. I can’t wait.

“This was really nice of you. I’m so excited to visit them.”

“Great! Yeah. Maybe we can make it an annual thing.”

“Let’s not. I mean…I’m just not close to them. I’m happy to visit my parents in the Netherlands, though.”

“I thought you were super close to them. You visited them every year, didn’t you?”

“As a kid I did. It’ll be good to see them though. Don’t worry. I’m really excited,” I beamed.

“Good. Quit scaring me though. You’re making me worried I did something wrong.”

“Sorry.”

I kept writing, and starting over. I’d write the whole thing, and start it over again. There was no way I’d be happy with it though. Every edit and every change only made me more frustrated. I do know that it’s time I finally put this to rest. So as I desperately searched for the words to say that in a way that would make sense, I kept writing. I wasn’t thinking about what I was writing, just the words I wanted to use somewhere, at some point. By the time I looked down, I had it. 3am. A whole 3 hours early. I sent it over to Jeffrey. My phone buzzed just a few seconds later.

Jeffrey: I’m looking it over now. Passes the smell check though. Go to bed.

No way he read it that fast. I stared at his text and started to think of a snarky reply to his order, but he was right. I didn’t have much time to get a lot of sleep. I would have to smush 8 or so hours into only 3. I shoved my face into the pillow, trying to force the sleep to come. Instead, I think I just suffocated myself until my brain was deprived of enough oxygen for me to be knocked out.

It worked though. I woke up just 3 hours later, and rediscovered what I already knew. You cannot possibly smush 8 hours of sleep into 3. I decided to spend most of my morning routine trying to get rid of any signs of sleep deprivation on my face, and thought I did a pretty good job. I stepped out of my room and knocked on Toto’s door.

“Coming,” I heard him call. He swung the door open, and there he stood in the process of buttoning up his shirt.

“Oh, how did you sleep?” He asked, turning his head as he looked at me.

“Shit, do I look tired?” I asked, trying to adjust my hair as best possible.

“It’s a common greeting in the morning, is it not? You look fine,” Toto smiled. He took his hand through his hair and stepped to grab his bag. I caught the door with my foot. “But you must be tired if you thought that was the implication, yeah?”

“I think I sort of…forced myself to go to sleep somehow. I don’t feel too tired though.”

“That’s a lie,” Toto smirked.

“Yeah, that was a lie,” I sighed.

“Alright. Let’s go. First day of the season. First day of the season!” Toto cheered.

Never really played organized sports for a bunch of reasons. I've played a little pickup basketball and football but it's always ended badly because I'm sadly not really fit enough to do that atm.

I think people take me seriously sometimes because they think I cannot possibly that sarcastic all the time, oops

6. What's the first thing you notice about people?

I have no idea?

7. What’s your eye color?

dark brown!

happy endings!!

What counts as a talent? Uh, I have a good head for dates and pattern recognition, which I use for the world-changing purposes of preempting the color commentator while watching live sports, reliably dating photos of actors down to the month or episode, and responding with a link to anyone trying to find a fanfic in my fandoms within like 5 minutes.

watching things and writing about them

I suppose so, not often on its own but usually as part of the plot... character study through the bj 💀

I haven't written any crossovers yet!

No! I really like the idea, but I'm a bit worried because I write so sporadically when I get bursts of energy that I'm not sure if I'd make a great writing partner, haha

14. what’s your all-time favorite ship?

Ahh, I just love Romance, so I don't know if I can pick a favorite, but Katniss and Peeta from The Hunger Games are who got me into fandom, and they're who I always return to when I'm truly feeling discouraged. Most ships I've written for are a favorite for some facet of them.

15. what’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

I have an AC3 AU fic just. Lingering on the hard drive. I do hope to finish this one eventually, but it keeps threatening to be longer and more convoluted than I expected.

16. what are your writing strengths?

I think describing emotion/character dynamics. I get really proud when I figure out the sort of dynamic I want to focus on, and then I can shape the fic around that. I also tend to like my dialogue, especially when I make myself laugh with something kind of cheesy.

17. what are your writing weaknesses?

Definitely plot: I love focusing on characters, and as a result I do not develop plot as much as I'd like to. I think I tend to drag out scenes and sometimes I feel like I'm forcing it to lengthen the story or create some kind of action. I also really like including boring details and when I go back and edit I struggle to keep what's relevant, lol.

18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

Even if characters are talking in another language, I usually write in English except for a few words that don't translate well. I was trying to think of situations where I'd write full dialogue in another language and they were all very specific: maybe if it's an important part of the setting or a character's internal conflict. So I guess in those cases I would if I either knew the language well or could ask someone about context, etc. (This actually reminds me of another WIP I don't know if I'll finish, lol.)

19. first fandom you wrote for?

I think The Hunger Games, but I never posted any of it. So many talented people in that fandom!!

20. favorite fic you’ve ever written?

Again, probably the care and feeding of lovebirds! It’s such a comfort movie + fic, and I guess that shows in how quickly I wrote it haha. But going back to that one is soothing for me, and I do have more DDLJ fic in the works.

Get To Know My OC - Pt. 3

Part three, it's Fay's turn! I decided to go ahead and do one of these for Fay and Wilkes since they play more of a role in “As A Stranger Or A Friend?” Book 2, and because I’ve been mentioning them here and there so, I thought it only made sense to introduce them more properly!

Leaving this as an open tag if anyone else would like to introduce their characters this way ♥️

The door opens, and a tall, lean, and dangerous-looking woman steps through it. Slowly and methodically and not at all frightened. She is colored in earthen tones, and her features bear no indication of interest in anything; in fact, they are so still they look to be carved of stone. Harsh yet elegant, the only way you can determine that she is indeed taking in her surroundings is because of the delicate twitch of her eyelids as her eyes move beneath them. Her deep-cut blouse billows around her as she moves, and you can’t help but be drawn to the golden rising sun upon her chest and the fat sapphire dangling from a thin length of tack line around her neck. Secondarily eyecatching are her rings, twinkling upon her taloned and perhaps… ink-stained fingers? No, the color is far too deep to be ink and seems as much hers as her rune-patterned skin. She cocks her head at you ever so slightly as she slowly lowers herself into the armchair opposite you, never once breaking eye contact. Her golden eyes are piercing and frightening to stare into, but for some reason, you can’t bring yourself to look away.

1. Are you named after anyone?

No. Her voice carries across the room effortlessly.

2. When was the last time you cried?

A smile tugs the corners of her mouth, and in a warning tone, she says. Tread lightly.

3. Do you have kids?

She becomes serious, and you can see a single nail of her right-hand press unforgivingly into the arm of her chair. You decide it’s best to move on.

4. Do you use sarcasm?

What do you think? Her words seem to bite you.

5. What’s the first thing you notice about people?

Whether or not they’re useful to me. She gives you a critical look. You're not sure which camp that puts you in.

6. What’s your eye color?

Gold. She responds with a sneer.

7. Scary Stories or Happy Endings?

I don’t have time for stories. She looks near the limit of her patience before she takes a hit of snuff and leans back into her chair. She looks more accommodating. For now.

8. Any special talents?

A few. Most. If they pay. She says as she admires her nails.

9. Where were you born?

A little shithole called Saltend. She says with a frown as she lets her hand dangle over the end of her armrest.

10. What are your hobbies?

Do I look like someone with free time? Her frown deepens.

11. Do you have any pets?

One. And he’d eat you alive. She says, tapping the sapphire you spotted earlier.

12. What sports do you play/have played?

I don’t waste my time with that.

13. How tall are you?

6’0”.

14. Favorite subject in school?

I was sold as a girl by my bastard of a father. I didn’t go to school. She responds flatly.

15. Dream job?

It doesn’t matter. Dreams don’t matter. She says, rising from her seat, exiting the room, and slamming the door shut behind her.

She is thorny, to put it mildly 😅 I would say that she means well and that she just doesn’t like people poking into her business, but that’s not true. She’s pretty much that way with everyone, including but not always her husband, Wilkes.

1. are you named after anyone?

Nope, but I was nameless for two weeks when I was born while my parents squabbled over names.

2. when was the last time you cried?

Last time of the month. Anything makes me cry then tbh.

3. do you have kids?

Nope. No, thank you. I warned my current husband after a few weeks of being together that if he ever wanted kids, we would be better off ending things because I'm not changing my mind lolol.

4. what sports do you play/have played?

Swimming was my sport. I was also on the athletics, netball, and hockey teams.

5. do you use sarcasm?

It's my default setting.

6. what's the first thing you notice about people?

Height, eyes.

7. what’s your eye color?

Sort of greeny hazel. They used to be greener, but as I age, the hazel is taking over, and I'm annoyed about that lol.

8. scary movies or happy endings?

Happy endings, always. Both kinds.

9. any talents?

Err, advanced Excel, swimming, good sense of direction, baking a sausage roll? I don't know.

10. where were you born?

Kent, UK

11. what are your hobbies?

Writing tbh. It takes up most of my spare time.

Yup, two very privileged cats.

I pretend I'm 5'7, but I'm closer to 5’8.

Geography, French, English Lit and Latin.

SO tagged to do this by @kiwiscytheth and a few others! I'll be tagging @lemonluvgirl87 @dandelionlovesyou just off the top of my head! Anyone else who wants to do this go right ahead!

1. Are you named after anyone?

Yes, actually it's a interesting story. I was named after two of my great, great grandmothers. Both of whom my parents knew when they were super young and had the same spelling of my name.

2. When was the last time you cried?

A week or so ago. Stress, adulting and whatnot.

3. Do you use sarcasm?

Oh I'd never do a think like that!

4. What's the first thing you notice about people?

The tone in their voice, after that their expression and level of comfort/discomfort.

5. What's your eye color?

I have a general light eye color that...always seems to change. I see greenish grey, but others have sworn there is blue there. Or grey blue. But when asked I say grey or green/grey.

6. Scary movie or happy ending?

Happy ending. Always.

7. Any special talents?

I like to think I'm pritty adept at reading and responding to peoples emotions. That I am good at least trying to make others feel better, even if I can't fix things all the time. Outside of that I beleive I have a greener than average thumb and am good with plants.

8. Where were you born?

A town in Michgan, in the US!

9. What are your hobbies?

Writing, occasonally reading. Gardening and bonsai. I cook a LOT and that's turned into a hobby by itself too. I love swimming even if I can't do it as often as I'd like to in winter. Sewing but recently that's been few and far between.

10. Do you have any pets?

Yes! Two dogs and two cats. Dogs are Buddy and Mink, cats are Goliath and Scoob. Though they all are really family pets.

11. What sports do you play/have played?

Not the sporty type, but I've played basketball in the past!

12. How tall are you?

4' 10'' and my adult hight! I have Turners Syndrome, and along with other things its given me abnormally short stature.

13. What was your favorite subject in school?

Ironically enough, Choir! It was the easiest and most social one but also wasn't just goofing off, it took some amount of work and focus. History was also a blast, and digged a lot of the science.

14. Dream job?

Already have it/am working on it! And it's babysitting/watching over babies and children. Getting my licence to do it isn't easy but super worth it.

4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Hell Yes! Every single one. And I try not to let them sit there any longer than 48hrs. Comments mean the world to me. I love reading my reader's reactions, their thoughts, their predictions. I want to thank them not only for taking the time in reading and leaving a comment but I also want to let them know that I feel the way they feel and try and hint at anything that I can for what’s to come.

5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

Two Kisses - I am known for a guaranteed happy ending, but this was something else. Emotions took over my body when I wrote this and I ALMOST didn’t post it, but my readers voted yes to me posting, however, I don’t think they were prepared when I said it was angst heavy. It’s one of my lowest kudos fic and I’m not surprised. It’s so sad.

6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

All of them. Even if the whole story is full of pain and suffering, it will end with a happily ever after. I feel like canon put Gallavich through enough pain that I don’t need to add to it via fics.

7. Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you’ve written?

Once. The Ian to Mickey’s Cal explored gamer Mickey meeting Ian Gallagher, the model behind Cal Kestis from his favourite Star Wars game. It’s probably the only crossover I’ll write and honestly, it was purply because Ian and Cal are both played by Cameron, the opportunity was too great to pass up.

8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?

Yep. And as much as it can suck, it’s kind of a compliment. Fan Fiction is designed to make sure no one reads anything they don’t want to, hello tags/author’s notes. However, I’ll still get a reader that will go forth and read something that they don’t like or that makes them uncomfortable and then write an essay about how terrible it is that I wrote such a fic. It’s my job as an author to push my own limits, see what I can write, and what I can explore. If I try something new, will it get the same love and appreciation as what I’ve written ten times before? I want to know if it’s my writing people enjoy or my genre. Do they read my work because they know what to expect or because I might push some boundaries? I still have my own limits, subjects I won't touch, but still, I’ve received hate, some valid, some just petty.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Do I write smut, please, is the grass green and the sky blue? 😏😈 And the only smut I write is Gallavich because that’s the only ship I write.

10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

God, I hope not. Thanks for putting that thought into my head.

11. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes. I’ve been honoured to have 3 or 4 of my pieces translated into Russian.

12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I have. My first experience was with @camnoelgallavich and we wrote The Ian to Mickey’s Cal together. I am currently co-writing with another wonderful author within this fandom, more to come soon but I know you’re all going to love it. 👀😉🙊

13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?

No ship has ever hit me as hard or stuck with me for as long as Gallavich has. If you want to know who else, we may be here for a while, I mean, how far back are we talking here?😅😜

14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

Hmmm, WIP's none. But I have series that I want to add to. I make sure to end each update in a place that could feel as though it’s complete but I have plans to add to them, it’s just other ideas hit me and I want to explore those also.

15. What are your writing strengths?

I’ve been told in my comments that I write as though my readers are watching a movie. I like that thought. Whether it’s the detailing or the way I lay out the scenes, it’s enough to give my readers a visual to get lost in the world I’m creating.

16. What are your writing weaknesses?

I feel as though I need to write every moment in-between A-Z. If I want to get my characters somewhere I forget that I can jump forward a little or move to a new scene without explaining everything that happened prior.

17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

Tried it once for a sentence or two, but I know when I read it in fics and I have to google it or read the end notes to know what it says which therefore involves scrolling up and down, it personally makes me feel disconnected from the story.🙈

18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?

Gallavich

19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?

Honestly, if I haven’t written for them yet, it means the bond isn’t strong enough that I want to try and write for them. 🤷🏻‍♀️

20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

Besides Saving Grace, I’d say Hope. That story, which can be read alone or within the series has such a special place in my heart. It was written before s11, kind of my own version of what I hoped the final season would be like because I just wanted to see Ian and Mickey happily married, exploring the world of trying to become parents. It’s wholesome without losing the essence of Ian and Mickey. I had a lot of fun fixing what the show screwed up within that story/series too because we all know those writers made a lot of mistakes, but that’s a whole other story.

1. Are you named after anyone?

Birth name, yes accidentally after my grandfather. Chosen name, after the Greek god of war.

2. When was the last time you cried?

Full-on cried I don't remember. But a guy my age died two days ago and he was friend of a friend, I shed a few tears.

3. Do you have kids?

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

A fair amount.

5. What’s the first thing you notice about people?

Their behavior around other people. Tells me if they're safe enough to interact with.

6. What’s your eye colour?

Dark brown.

7. Scary movies or happy endings?

Dunno, I like tragedies more than anything.

8. Any special talents?

i.... learned how to do very big burps.... and can whistle almost anything.....

9. Where were you born?

No telling.... on an island in south europe ☀️

10. What are your hobbies?

Writing, reading, listening to music and watching shit. I occasionally draw. And it feels like I've been responding to this question in the same way for ten years.

11. Have you any pets?

A dog and two cats.

12. What sports do you play/have played?

Hate sports god unbless. I was weightlifting before the pandemic tho.

Philosophy, psychology and sociology.

Ugh.... whatever doesn't drain me mentally and gives me enough money to survive without worrying.

15 Questions Meme!

Not really tagged by @magnetocerebro but it’s been a while and I’m in the mood, so why not?

1. Are you named after anyone?

Sort of? I apparently had an ancestor named Malinda Minerva Spanigal! Is that not the coolest name ever?? My parents also found ‘Malina’ in a name book or something and decided they liked the sound and meaning of it and it could also honor the ancestor but just knock of the ‘d’!

2. What was the last time you cried?

It’s actually not too recently, oddly enough! I’ve been a little on edge for hormonal reasons the past few days, and the good ol’ dissatisfaction with my current place in the world, but I’ll cite the funniest example. I watched an episode of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys where the people tried to put Herc on trial for inspiring people to endanger themselves by trying to be ‘heroes’ and how ‘heroes’ had no place in a civilized society. But in the end he gave a passionate speech about what it means to be a hero and if that’s wrong in the modern world, he’ll gladly go to prison for it, and then all his friends stood up and did the “I am Spartacus” thing to stand by him, and I’m not gonna lie, I got a little choked up.

3. Do you have kids?

Nope! This is unusual among my high school classmates, but normal among my college friends. I do have two cats that I unload my motherly feelings on, though, along with some of my friends’ kids, to whom I am an honorary auntie.

4. Do you use sarcasm?

I’ve come around to being mostly irony-free and earnest! However, I feel being around my brother brings out my sarcastic side. And sometimes I will try to use sarcasm for good, ie. sarcastically complaining about my friends’ qualities that are clearly false and the opposite of their best qualities, to demonstrate how absurd their own self-criticism is to me.

5. What’s the first thing you notice about people?

I mean, obviously just seeing them I’ll notice what they look like, but I feel I am also very attuned to the kind of energy people project, and shy away from certain kinds of energy and gravitate toward others. I don’t mean anything weird and spiritual by this, I just mean the vibes and emotions I pick up from the way people talk, carry themselves, respond to others, etc.

6. What’s your eye color?

It’s a dull greyish shade of green or blue that looks greener or bluer or brighter depending on what I’m wearing.

7. Scary movies or happy endings?

I mean, for sure happy endings! There’s certain brands of ‘horror’ that aren’t too rough for me and have elements I do enjoy, but often that milder horror will have a happy ending, too!

8. Any special talents?

Well, if I’m honest, I have no false modesty about my singing voice. In fact, I have been known (to my shame) to get a little vain or show-offy about it. But so many people tell me it’s nice, and I take great joy in singing, and I like the sound of it, too, and I have a special pride when I am able to lead people in song because my voice is on-pitch and strong and confident.

9. Where were you born?

Billings, Montana!

10. What are you hobbies?

At the moment? I’m trying to get back into drawing and writing fanfics. But I have not achieved massive success so far! I’ve had more success reading through my third biography of Lafayette, and writing weird meta-essays comparing fandom stuff . . . When I’m with like-minded friends, we always sing folk-songs or hymns together, and that’s always a wonderful time! Occasionally I enjoy playing my guitar alone or cross-stitching as well . . . To simplify, my hobbies are everything and nothing!!

11. Do you have any pets?

Cats! My two girls I adopted in Korea, Kartoshka (Toshka for short) and Dulcinea (Dulcie for short) have now joined their venerable old uncle Phoenix, whom I got in high school and who stayed with my parents while I was in Korea.

12. What sports do you play/have played?

I used to play softball in middle school, and I took a summer course in Mixed Martial Arts once. When I was a little girl, I took ballet. But I’m not super-athletic by nature, so I haven’t played in quite a while.

13. How tall are you?

5′3′‘-5′4′‘ I think.

14. Favorite subject in school?

English, Choir, Art (specifically loved my sculpture class; my teacher was amazing!) and Acting in high school. Really loved my Philosophy class and Classical Mythology class when I got to college, but my FAVORITE class of my college career was Screenwriting!

15. Dream job?

Well, as you can see by my favorite subjects and favorite hobbies, my interests are very wide across the spectrum of the arts! Do I wanna be a musical theatre actress? A folk/filk singer? A stage or film director, or actress? A screenwriter? An author of fiction or an author of comparative literature criticism? A comic book writer/illustrator? A sculptor? An English teacher or college lecturer who just gets to monologue about my favorite books and themes as a living? A youtuber who does the same? All of the above and more?

But also, my career experience so far has been in International ESL Education, and I do love working with kids! I specifically loved working closer with individual kids in a tutoring capacity, while also experiencing new cultures! So I was looking into au pair/governess stuff . . .

Following in the footsteps of my esteemed forebear, I won’t tag anyone specifically, but welcome anyone who sees this (especially if we know each other!) to participate, if they feel so inclined! :)
